"It's (y/n)'s birthday!" Dixie exclaimed.

"I know. She's my best friend."' Charli said looking at her sister.

"She's eighteen and that means I can ask her to be my girlfriend." Dixie smiled.

"I'm surprised you actually dated someone while waiting for her to turn legal." Charli laughed at her.

"Look Mr. Convenient was a mistake and I wish I had just waited." Dixie scoffed.

"I'm gonna go get dressed. We only have two hours before the party starts and then we have a 15 minute drive to get there." Charli said running up stairs. Dixie followed her younger sister up the stairs, but turned to go to her own room.

"Are we almost there?" Dixie asked.

"Be patient. We're still early." Charli said.

"Do you think tonight is a good time to ask (y/n) out or should wait a day or two?" Dixie asked ignoring Charli's previous statement.

"She's gonna say yes no matter when you ask her." Charli rolled her eyes at her sister. "You act like you two haven't been basically dating for two years."

"We haven't been dating. We are just friends who occasionally kiss." Dixie stated.

"Oh right, my bad." Charli said sarcastically.

"We're here." Heidi announced from the front seat with Marc.

"Finally!" Dixie exclaimed taking off her seatbelt and jumping out of the car. Charli, Marc, and Heidi slowly followed after her. "Hurry."

"Dixie, calm down. The party just started." Heidi said placing a hand on her shoulder as they walked to the entrance of the house.

"We'll go put the presents with the others." Marc said taking Charli's gift she brought.

"Actually, I'm gonna hold on to it. I wanna give it to her myself." Dixie said. Marc nodded and walked away with Heidi.

"There's (y/n)." Charli said looking across the room over to the girl.

"She's talking to Mads." Dixie pointed out. "Does she like Mads? They hangout a lot."

"Dixie! Why are you acting so nervous? You know she's likes you." Charli exclaimed.

"I don't know. I've been waiting for this day for a long time and I'm just nervous she's changed her mind." Dixie admitted.

"Well, she hasn't so go ask her out and get it over with so you can stop being so paranoid." Charli said.

"You're not gonna say hi?" Dixie questioned.

"I will after." Charli nodded.

Dixie walked over to the two girls making them turn to her.

"Dixie!" (y/n) smiled happily.

"I'll let you two talk." Mads smiled hugging (y/n) quickly before walking away.

"Hi." Dixie smiled.

"Hi." (y/n) chuckled.

"Can I ask you a question?" Dixie asked shyly.

"Yeah, you can." (y/n) smiled knowing what was going to be asked.

"I've told you this before, but I really like you a lot and now that we can actually do this, would you like to be my girlfriend?" Dixie asked.

"Of course." (y/n) smiled leaning over and connecting their lips. Dixie smiled as they pulled away.

"I know you're not opening presents right now, but I can't wait any longer to give this to you." Dixie held up a small box with ribbon around it. (y/n) undid the ribbon and lifted the top of box revealing a silver ring with dixie and (y/n) carved into it.

"Oh my god. Dixie, I love it." (y/n) smiled running her index finger over the words.

"It's a promise ring. Now that I can, i'll always be with you." Dixie said making (y/n)'s smile grow wider.

"I love you." (y/n) said kissing her again.
