Kasey's POV
๐ช๐๐๐๐ก๐ ๐จ๐ฃ ๐ช๐๐ง๐ a yawn, I stretched as the scent of bacon instantly made my stomach growl. The smell made my mouth water, and I got excited about eating. I climbed out of bed at the speed my stomach would allow me and freshened up in the bathroom. I walked downstairs to see Alissa sitting in the living room on the sofa, watching some reality show, so I assumed her mother was in the kitchen. As I stood in the entryway, I watched Mrs. Lopez cook breakfast at the stove. She looked up at me and smiled as I walked to the fridge and grabbed some water.
"Look who's awake. How did you sleep?" Zavia asked, pouring scrambled eggs onto a plate.
"Good." I nodded, unscrewing the cap from the bottle.
"Well, breakfast is just about ready. I bet you're hungry." Mrs. Lopez smiled at me, and I nodded.
"Of course," I answered, sitting on the island chair.
"Alissa, ven a comer, cariรฑo." Mrs. Lopez called out to her daughter. ("Alissa, come eat, darling.")
My best friend entered the kitchen and sat next to me. Her mother handed us plates, and the food looked delicious that my mouth watered. Mrs. Lopez turned the stove off before turning to me and speaking.
"Would you girls like some orange juice?" Zavia asked her daughter and me.
"Yes, please." I smiled, nodding my head. She poured two glasses of juice before handing them to us.
After closing the fridge, Alissa's mother sat to my right, and we started talking.
"I think I want to try a home or water birth," I announced, making the other women look up at me.
"Why?" Alissa asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't want to leave the comfort of home," I answered, shrugging my shoulders. "Or maybe a water birth at a facility specializing in that."
"Would there be doctors and nurses there?" Alissa asked, drinking her orange juice.
"I don't want many people in the room. Just you, me, your mom, and a midwife." I swallowed my food before drinking my juice and said, "I was thinking of your mom or midwife delivering the baby."
"I can call a friend and talk to her about making some arrangements," Zavia replied, smiling at me. I returned the smile and nodded.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Alissa asked, finishing up her breakfast.
"I say we have a relaxing spa day or something." Mrs. Lopez suggested, placing her plate in the sink so she could wash them. "Maybe get some manicures."
"I love the sound of a massage because my feet have been killing me." I groaned at the thought of a rubdown.
Once I finished eating the rest of my breakfast, I went upstairs to my room and took a shower while Alissa's mom cleaned up the kitchen. When the temperature pleased me, I stripped off my night clothes and stepped inside. I washed up, massaging my back a little bit since it ached. After I washed up, wrapped my towel around myself, and dried off, I dressed in a pair of black biker shorts, Aaliyah t-shirts, and lavender crocs. I slicked my hair back into a bun, grabbed my phone off the charger, and headed back downstairs, waiting for Alissa and Zavia.
When they made it down the steps, we walked out of my house, and I locked the door behind me. Mrs. Lopez decided to drive, so I handed her my keys and got in the passenger seat while Alissa got in the back.
"So, would you girls rather go get massages first or pedicures?"
"I'd rather go get massages first," I answered, rubbing my stomach.
"Yea, me too," Alissa said, nodding her head in agreement.
"Alright, off to the spa it is." Zavia smiled, putting her sunglasses on before driving off.
As we passed trees and shops, I stared out the window at the sun shining bright in the sky, thinking of my baby. I thought of who he'd look like, the color of his eyes, and whether he would have a head full of hair. Honestly, I never knew who or what my first baby would look like. I wouldn't care if my baby had down syndrome; I would still love them with every fiber in my body as any mother should, regardless of their situation with the father.
Arriving at the Serenity Day Spa, Zavia parked the car, and the three of us got out. As we walked inside, the scent of jasmine and rose hit my nose. They say those two scents are to relax and calm a person, and I believe it. Two women behind the reception desk smiled at us.
"Hello, welcome to Serenity Day Spa. How can we assist you?" One woman greeted us as we walked up to her.
"I have reservations for three and a prenatal massage under Lopez," Zavia answered, nodding her head.
"Ah yes, Mrs. Lopez, I see your reservations here. Also, I see someone's expecting. Congratulations." The woman praised, smiling at me. "How far along are you?"
"Six months," I replied, bringing my hand up to my belly with a smile.
"Do you know the gender?" The woman asked, grabbing our keys from under the desk.
"Boy," I replied, feeling my baby move.
"Lucky I wanted a boy, but I got a girl instead. And I love her." The woman explained, laughing at herself. "Well, here are your locker keys. Enjoy your relaxation."
"Thank you." I nodded, taking my key from Zavia.
We waved at the reception workers and went to the locker room to change. I stripped out of my clothes, switched to my bikini, and put on the comfortable white robe that rested inside the locker, along with soft white slippers. The three of us closed our lockers and walked to the massage room.
"Welcome, ladies. I see you're the woman getting the prenatal massage." The female masseuse spoke politely, smiling at me.
"Yes, that's me," I replied, nodding my head.
"We'll come on and relax." The masseuse waved me over, smiling.
I untied my comfortable robe, lay on the pregnancy massage table, and relaxed. As the masseuse used firm strokes pressing deep into my muscles, I felt my eyes close at the euphoric feeling. Who knew prenatal massages feel this good? So good you'll end up falling asleep.
"Psst Kasey? Are you sleeping?" I hear my annoying best friend ask from her table.
"Mhmm," I mumbled as the masseuse worked on my shoulders. She massaged a knot that had my toes curled.
"This massage feels so...good." Alissa moaned, grasping my hand in hers.
"I know it does. My back never felt better." I replied, agreeing with her.
I didn't know about Alissa, but I didn't want this fantastic feeling ever to end. This woman sure did know how to use her hands.
The masseuses led Alissa and me into a room where pedicure chairs were as water filled them up. I smiled, sitting in the chair as the masseuse from before turned on the massager for my back. A moan escaped my mouth as I leaned my head back and enjoyed the back rub. Soon after, four women came over to us and began working on our pedicures. One woman massaged my aching feet while the other rubbed my hands and wrists.
Suddenly when I looked up, I saw an employee walking with a large tray in her hands. It appeared to be a fruit platter.
"Would you ladies like some fruit?" She asked, setting the tray down, and I got a better view.
"Yes, you can leave it there," I replied, nodding to the table.
The woman nodded, setting the tray down, and I reached over, grabbed a ripe green grape, and popped it in my mouth.
"Are they good?" I hear Alissa ask me, nodding to the fruit platter.
"Hell yeah," I answered, nodding and popping another grape.
Alissa grabbed a grape off the tray, popped it in her mouth, and moaned as she chewed it. "Oh, yea, this fruit is fresh."
"Try the fucking strawberries," I said, chewing on a sweet berry.
"I don't know where they got this fruit from, but damn." Alissa nodded, eating more of the fresh and delicious fruit.
"After we leave, I need to stop by Target." I reminded Alissa as I looked at her.
"Why?" She questioned, cocking her head to the side in confusion.
"I need some new sheets. The ones I have been irritating my skin." I replied as the masseuse rubbed between my toes.
"Noted." Alissa sighed, leaning back in her chair.
After the nail tech massaged our feet, they painted them with nail polish. I chose to get my toes a cherry red, and Alissa chose a classic white. I had to say my toes looked damn pretty. Once our massage was over, Alissa and I slid our feet inside a pair of slippers and headed back to the locker room. We changed into our clothes and went to the lobby.
Walking out of the building, I got in the car, and Zavia got in the driver's seat. "Can we go by Target, please?"
"Sure thing." She nodded, starting the car up.
I leaned my head against the rest, rubbing my stomach and feeling my baby boy move around. Arriving at Target, Zavia parked the car, and we all stepped out. Grabbing a basket at the entrance, I first went to the baby section and looked for a boy's outfit. As I searched through the rack, my eyes caught a cute Star Wars Mandalorian Baby Yoda 3-piece outfit set.
"Look, isn't this adorable?" I asked Alissa, showing her the outfit.
"That is super cute," Alissa said, nodding her head in approval.
Smiling, I stared at the outfit before tossing it in the basket. Alissa and I continued looking around in the store's baby section while Zavia walked to the home department to grab some things. Although I will receive diapers and other items from my baby shower, I wanted to buy an infant car seat & stroller set. Since it took up most of the space in the cart, Alissa grabbed another one, and we walked around until we ran into Mrs. Lopez.
Closing the car door, I walked to the front door and unlocked it before stepping inside. The sound of the living room tv made me follow it to see my dad sitting on the sofa.
"Hey, dad." I smiled, sitting next to him.
"Hey, where've you been?" He asked, turning the volume down.
"Well, first, I went to the spa with Alissa and her mother and got a deep tissue massage out of the world," I explained, groaning dramatically.
"Oh, did you?" He quipped, arching an eyebrow.
"Yes, after the massage, we got our toes painted and ate delicious fruit, and finally, we went to Target," I replied, leaning my head against his shoulder.
"What did you buy?" My dad asked, glancing down at me.
"Some clothes for the baby and a car seat," I answered, shrugging my shoulders.
"Kasey, you know you're supposed to get that at the baby shower." He sighed, rolling his eyes.
"I know, but that's all I bought," I said, nodding as I pouted like a child. "Can you get it out of the trunk, please?"
"I'm on it." My father nodded his head standing to his feet.
While he retrieved the large box from the trunk of my car, I kicked my feet up on the coffee table and waited for him. My best friend walked through the front door, huffed and puffed, carrying bags.
"You could've helped me, you know." Alissa huffed, waving her hands in the air.
"I'm pregnant, sorry." I laughed, shrugging my shoulders.
"Oh, you're so lucky." Alissa groaned, rolling her eyes at me.
"Love you," I said as she walked to my bedroom.
Laughing, I got off the couch and walked into the kitchen. I opened the cabinet and grabbed a Special K strawberry pastry and a water bottle before going to my bedroom. My dad's footsteps behind me made me step to the side as he set the big box on the floor by my tv.
"Don't buy anything else, Kasey. You must wait until the baby shower for all the clothes and things like that." My dad explained, smiling at me.
"Okay fine," I replied, rolling my eyes. "I won't buy anything else."
"We'll see." My dad laughed, walking out of my room.
Smiling, I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut the box open. I pulled the contents out and began putting them together. I heard footsteps at my doorway and turned to see Alissa with her arms crossed.
"You couldn't wait, could you?" She amusingly questioned, shaking her head.
"No, I couldn't." I laughed, shrugging my shoulders. "Either help me or leave me alone."
"Fine grouchy," Alissa replied, walking over to help me.
We finished putting the stroller together and the car seat in no time, but we would've finished faster if Alissa had followed the instructions. Standing on my feet, I groaned, stretching my back before walking to the kitchen.
"So when the baby's born, are you having him sleep with you or in his bassinet?" Mrs. Lopez questioned, sitting on the island.
"I think both because, as a first-time mom, my nerves would be all over the place wondering if my baby is breathing or not," I explained, grabbing a Twinkie from the cabinet.
"That's understandable. I was that way when I had Alissa." Zavia replied, nodding her head. "She slept with me up until she was five months old."
"Yea, I think that'll be me." I laughed, sitting in the living room.
"It's natural for first-time mothers." Zavia laughed, nodding her head.
Alissa, Zavia, and I continued talking about babies when my dad walked into the kitchen, grabbing his coffee cup off the counter.
"I'll see you, girls, later. Duty calls." He said, pouring some coffee into his cup.
"See you later, dad. Love you." I smiled, wrapping my arms around him.
"Love you too, kid." My dad replied, placing a kiss on my head.
I waved at my father as he walked out of the door. Heading to the living room, I sat on the couch and began watching a few movies on Netflix.
It felt late, so I checked the time seeing it was almost ten o'clock at night. I got off the couch, headed to the bathroom, and took a shower. After washing, I stepped out, wrapped a towel around myself, and slipped on an oversized graphic tee and nonskid socks.
"Goodnight, best friend. I love you." I smiled, hugging Alissa as she sat on the end of the bed in the guest room.
"Love you too." She replied, returning the gesture.
Walking to my bedroom, I turned off the light and climbed into bed, getting comfortable before I fell asleep.
Jason's POV
Watching the final light shut off, my goons and I waited at least thirty minutes before exiting the van. We walked across the street to the house and picked the lock to gain entrance inside.
"Listen, give the woman and her daughter the sedative. If they fight, use the chloroform." I explained to my members, who nodded.
"What room is Kasey in?" Deacon asked me, pulling out a bag, unzipping it, and pulling out a syringe.
"Leave her to me," I replied, giving him a stern expression.
"You got it, boss." He said, holding his hands up in surrender, nodding his head.
While Cortez and Blake went downstairs to the basement, Deacon, Corbin, and I headed upstairs. The main bedroom was clear, so I went to Kasey's bedroom. I've been following Kasey since we met at that house party I threw, and we fucked that night. Although we had a few cups of that jungle juice in our system, something about her drew me to her. Maybe it was her smile or the way she moved those hips.
Quietly I twisted the knob of her bedroom door and was thankful the tv was on, or she would've heard me. As I stepped inside, I walked to the bed and stood over the sleeping form.
Kasey's body was covered from her knees to her ankles, exposing the rest. It gave me the best view of her growing belly. I smirked, still not believing that something I had created was developing inside her. I felt my baby kick. Taking the chloroform from my back pocket, I poured it onto a towel and placed it on her face. She struggled a bit but succumbed to the knock-out liquid and went limp.
"Cortez, go get the van," I ordered, wrapping a blanket around Kasey.
I picked her up in my arms bridal style and carried her down the steps to the front door. Cortez backed into the van and got out to open the rear doors. Climbing in the vehicle, my goons followed me, and we headed back to the safe house.
