𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫 | Molly Mosasaurus
──────────❝ 🦕 ❞──────────
The Mosasaurus Arena was packed full of almost a thousand visitors, Brooke lead the two boys to seats and she sat down with Zach on her right and Gray on her left. "The Mosasaurus is named Molly, she's a sweetheart but extremely shy at times," Brooke told the two as a teen boy sitting with friends leaned forward. "Hello gorgeous, maybe you'd like to sit with me," He spoke causing Zach, Gray and Brooke to turn and look at him. His friends were all smirking and laughing while the main boy sent Brooklyn a wink. "What do you say? My lap would be cosy and I'll listen to all of your dina facts," The teen added with a sly smirk, lightly patting his lap in an encouraging manner.
"I'm good. Thanks," Brooke snarked before turning to face the tank, she went to speak again but the boy spoke up. "Come on, don't be like that, honey," He taunted. Zach turned to say something but Brooke grabbed his hand and smiled before mouthing, 'play along' receiving a nod in response. "If you don't mind, I'm here with my boyfriend and his brother, so quit while you're ahead," Brooke snapped at him, "And even if I wasn't, I'd chose the Dinosaurs over you." The teen glared from her to Zach who wrapped his arm around Brooke's shoulders as they faced the front. He wouldn't admit it but hearing Brooke call him her boyfriend was very nice to hear. "Sorry 'bout this," Brooke whispered to Zach. "No need to be sorry, Brooke. It's fine with me," Zach reassured her.
Brooke blushed under his stare, the Mitchell boy had to fight the smirk from appearing noticing the flustered expression on her face while Gray simply smiled at the two before focusing on the Mosasaurus. "The Mosasaurus was thought to have hunted near the surface of the water where it could prey on anything it could sink its teeth into," The announcer, Harper spoke as she stands on a platform for the crowd to see. Near Harper and to the side above the lagoon, a Great White Shark is hanging from a mechanical hook for the Mosasaurus. "Okay folks, let's see if she's still hungry after already eating today. She's a little shy so be nice and give her a hand when she comes out!" Harper continued with a bright grin on her face.
Zach still had his arm resting around Brooke's shoulders ignoring the glare from the boy behind them, he kind of liked how it felt to hold her. "Zach! Zach! The Mosasaurus!" Gray cheered out excitedly, Brooklyn chuckled at the boys excitement while Zach's lips twitched into a small smile. Suddenly, the big fierce reptile of the sea thunders out of the water and snaps its jaws onto the Great White Shark before dragging it under the water within the lagoon, sending a large wave of water over the crowd including Zach, Gray and Brooke who all laughed and cheered. Soaked in cool water, the audience cheered and applauded in excitement and awe of the dinosaur before the bleachers whirred to life and lower down allowing the auidence to continue watching the Mosasaurus.
"So... worth it?" Brooklyn whispered in Zach's ear, the boy shivered from her close vicinity. He turned his head, their faces only a few inches apart as he replied, "So far, it's been more than worth it." Brooklyn smirked at his words while Gray was distracted watching the Mosasaurus finish off the Great White Shark inside the lagoon. "Then I guess I'm doing a great job as a tour guide then," Brooklyn whispered back to him. Anyone watching on the outside would think the two were a couple as they flirted with each other, the boy and his friends sneered at the sight before turning to the dinosaur annoyed they couldn't get Brooklyn Malcolm's attention on them. "I'm sure you can do better," Zach replied with a teasing glint in his eyes that made Brooke smirk as she leaned closer.
"The questions is... can you handle it?" Brooklyn asked in a teasing tone, her lips lightly brushing against Zach's causing the eighteen year old to blush as his eyes focused on her lips wanting nothing more than to close the space between them. Brooklyn noticed how Zach's eyes were focused on her lips, she sent him a wink before pulling back and turning to Gray, "Hey, let's get some food and then I got an idea on where we can go next." Gray nodded enthusiastically before the two stood up as the crowd slowly dispersed. Zach was still in a daze from his and Brooklyn's close vicinity, he felt her hand rest on his shoulder and turned to look up at her. "Come on, lover boy. We're getting some food," Brooklyn told him with a wink.

Once the trio reached one of the many restaurants in the park, Brooklyn had been the one to step forward and put their lunch on her tab. "You didn't have to do that," Zach told her as they walked over to the all you can eat buffet where Gray was currently raiding the choices and filling up his plate despite knowing he wouldn't eat everything. "Oh, its fine. I get a discount," Brooklyn reassured Zach as the two walked together, Zach trying his best to keep an eye on his little brother in the crowd. "Well, thanks," Zach responded sheepishly, he didn't really use manners much. "You're welcome," Brooklyn teased before turning to Gray, "Hey Gray, slow down bud." Gray immediately followed her instruction and waited for the two eighteen year olds to fill their own plates and join him.
"Today has been so cool so far!" Gray expressed to Brooklyn as the three sat down at a table. "Yeah? I'm glad," Brooklyn replied to him, "Usually I'd be either hanging with the Raptors or Trixie right about now but I'm enjoying this a little more. Just don't tell them." Brooklyn sent Gray a wink and the boy giggled before he dug into his food eager to try the mix of different foods that he had chosen. "So... did you always want to work here?" Zach asked Brooke, he wanted to get to know her more considering he and Gray would be staying for a short while which meant he could really connect with Brooklyn. "I knew from a young age that no matter what I did, I wanted to work with Dinosaurs," Brooklyn replied fondly, "But originally, I just thought I'd go into work with my Uncle Alan or Aunt Ellie really."
"But then you ended up here," Zach stated after he swallowed some of his chicken burger that he had picked out. "Yeah. I got the job at fourteen and stuck with it. Worked my way up to the ranks and did all of my schooling online," Brooklyn told him with a small sigh, "Owen always said that I'd be regretting not experiencing real high school but Harper and Lori both told me that I was lucky to escape it." Zach tensed at the mention of Owen, he remembered her being on the phone with him earlier that day talking about seeing him for dinner later. "Who is Owen?" Gray asked with furrowed brows saving Zach the pressure of asking instead. "Oh, he's the Raptor trainer alongside me," Brooklyn replied which made Zach frown, he wasn't as cool as that.
"He's ex-navy and practically my big brother at this point. Once I turned eighteen, I moved in with him 'cause we get along great and he can be protective," Brooklyn added after sipping her cherry cola. Zach visibly perked up hearing the term brother from Brooklyn's lips, he turned to look at her with a small smile while Gray continued asking about the raptors. To some, it may be stupid for Zach to be so eager to start something with Brooklyn when they only met on that day but when you like someone, you go for it. It wasn't like he wanted to marry her right then and there but he was definitely keen to go on a date with her, maybe a few more that leads to something. Maybe it was hormones or maybe it was the spark between them, but Zach really liked Brooklyn and he didn't want to leave without her number and at least a date.

Meanwhile, Owen was with Claire to check out the new paddock containing Jurassic World's newest creation. He stared up at the towering walls appearing unconvinced and more than a little uneasy, he could hear Brooklyn's mathematical brain racing a mile a second to calculate all of the risks and benefits of this new Dinosaur. "We've been pre-booking tickets for months. The park needs a new attraction every few years in order to reinvigorate the public's interest. Kinda like the space program," Claire explained to Owen who immediately dared to disagree. Claire walks over to the steps leading up to the observation tower with Owen following behind her as she continues, "Corporate felt genetic modification would up the 'wow' factor."
Owen scoffed at her words, "They're Dinosaurs. "Wow" enough." Claire smirked pretentiously at him, "Not according to our focus groups. The Indominus Rex makes us relevant again." Owen looked at her with an expression of disbelief before he grinned. "The Indominus Rex," Owen mocked with a slight chuckle. "We needed something scary and easy to pronounce. You should hear a four-year-old try to say 'Archaeornithomimus'," Claire replied to Owen who frowned. "You should hear you try to say it..." Owen muttered. They enter the observation room where supervisor Nick is sitting at his desk on his lunch break, munching a sandwich. The two walk over to the window which shows a dense jungle of the paddock interior but no Dinosaur.
"What's this thing made of...?" Owen asked Claire in concern, the specific genetics would determine what kind of predatory beast it would be. "The base genome is a T. Rex, the rest is... classified," Claire informed him. "You made a new dinosaur but you don't know what it is," Owen asked, dubiously leaving Claire already feeling annoyed by his questions. "The lab delivers us new assets and we show them to the public," Claire snarked at Owen before turning to Nick, "Can we drop a steer, please?" Nick sighed in annoyance for the interruption during his lunch break before pressing a button. "How long has the animal been in here?" Owen questioned knowing that Brooklyn would be asking the same thing.
"All its life," Claire replied unbothered by the knowledge while Owen looked at her in shock. "Never seen anything outside of these walls?" Owen asked next, concern in his eyes knowing what happens to animals when they're locked in a cage their whole life. "We can't exactly walk it," Claire mocked, his questions still irritating her. "And you feed it with that?" Owen pointed at the huge crane lowering a hunk of beef into the paddock from above. Claire appears not to understand the worries behind Owen's questions but rather appearing bemused and annoyed by his game of twenty-one questions. "Is there a problem?" Claire asked him with bite in her tone. "Animals raised in isolation aren't always the most functional, even Brooke knows that," Owen answered her.
"Your Raptors are born in captivity," Claire stated as a reminder to Owen. "With siblings," Owen scoffed before adding, "They learn social skills. And I imprint on them when they're born. There's trust. The only positive relationship this animal has is with that crane. At least she knows that means food." Owen was increasingly concerned and he could only imagine the anger that Brooklyn would feel about this situation, he knew she'd need to communicate with the new animal in hopes to ensure its tame nature. However, Claire doesn't appear to share Owen's concerns. "So she needs a friend? We should schedule play dates? That sort of thing? Or maybe bring Brooke by to hang out with her?" Claire asked in a sarcastic and patronising tone.
"Probably not a good idea," Owen replied in a dark tone, he didn't enjoy being mocked nor did he like the idea of Brooklyn being close to the animal. Claire took notice of the lack of the Dinosaur to eat the meat, she leans over and taps the glass. "Where is it...?" Claire questioned confused. "What? Is it in the basement? Is there a downstairs? Maybe it's in the rec room," Owen mocked sarcastically but Claire ignored the man. "It was just here. We were just here," Claire told him before she walked over to the thermal imaging and activated it. It performs a scan of the paddock and after a moment, it emits an annoying buzzing sound and flashes the words; NO THERMAL SIGNATURES DETECTED. The other computer screens arranged around the room begin beeping in alarm showing the same words.
"Oh, shoot..." Owen mutters as he walks over to one of the side windows at the far end of the room. "That doesn't make any sense. These doors haven't been opened in weeks," Nick stated as he stared at the screens in concern. "Were those claw marks always there?" Owen asked as he pointed up at the wall, Claire turned and walked over to see what he was pointing at. "You think it...?" Claire trailed off as realisation hits her and she begins trembling in fear, "Oh, God..." Claire turned around and began to run out calling back, "She has an implant in her back! I can track it from the control room!" Owen watches her go before turning back to look at the scratches on the wall, he felt slightly anxious about this and knew he will have to call Brooklyn the moment he found out the situation.
