Chapter Two

GRIFFIN arrived at the building, followed slowly by Diego.

"Griffin, slow down!"

Griffin stopped immediately and turned to his friend. "I'm going to find out everything about this fucking doll, and you're going to help me."

"Dude, you're just jealous. Just let him be!"

Griffin continued to make his way through the semi-abandoned four-story building, which had a big, brown exterior and a glass door, with only a few cameras installed to scare thieves away. Both Griffin and Diego knew that they could afford a better rental apartment, but that building was a lot closer to their school and they didn't want to waste money looking for an expensive place. The building also gave them the privacy they needed, since they didn't want any paparazzi to find out where they lived.

"I don't get why you care so much. It honestly feels like you're protective of Mal because you still love her."

"No, I don't love her!"

They followed each other up the stairs, to the first floor, then hurried to the second floor, where their apartment was.

The second floor consisted of three apartments, two of them were empty as far as Griffin knew. The staircase led to one of the empty apartments, and the two friends took a small, smooth turn to get to their apartment. Griffin let out the keys from his pocket and put it through the doorknob, but then stopped for a second as he took a glance at the last apartment at the end of the tall hallway.

"Did someone move in here?"

"Yeah, but that was about a month ago. Don't you know?" Diego replied, his eyes set on the empty carton box lying peacefully on the floor.

"No, clearly not! How come you're the one who knows everything and I don't?!" Griffin retorted, finally managing to unlock the door. They both entered the apartment, which they both shared, and closed the door behind them.

Mal giggled as she held Felix's hand and pulled him closer to her. They both walked through the hallway and enthusiastically hurried towards the door to Felix's apartment.

Felix opened the door with the key in his pocket and unlocked the door right away. He bowed a little to lead her inside, which caused her to giggle.

"After you, madam."

"Well, thank you, kind sir."

As soon as they got inside, Felix closed the door. Mal could finally take a long glance at the apartment's interior.

It had white walls and dark, wooden floors. Its furniture was a simple, white and gray mix. The first room was the living room, which only had a big, grey couch, a small table, and a big screen across from the couch. There was also a dining table and a few, white chairs surrounding it with a small vase filled with roses in the middle.

"Oh my God, your apartment is so cute!" Mal squealed as she held his hand, and hugged his waist tightly for a few seconds.

"Thank you so much for inviting me here."

"You're welcome!" he replied, then turned to his bedroom, which was on their right, and stared at it sadly.

"Listen... I don't think I can take any more lies when we have just started our relationship. I want to tell you everything." he muttered in an Australian accent. Mal stared up at him curiously, then wrapped her arms around him in a tight, reassuring hug.

"Sunshine, I'm here to listen. Always."
