Gwen is a severely traumatized human being who's been through so much. Due to her life experiences, she's very guarded, paranoid, cold, and often mysterious. She very lets anyone see past her façade, and it makes her a very good actor, which in turn makes her a great undercover agent.

Underneath all that though is a person who just wants to be loved. When a new potential lover introduced, she puts her guard up even higher, as her paranoia makes her think that whenever anyone shows the slightest bit of kindness and sincerity to her, they're only doing so either because they were ordered to, or because they had something to gain from it.

However, once you get really close to her, it's a wild ride from there.

Gwen is a brutally honest person who very rarely sugarcoats (usually only when the situation is in need of sugarcoating). She's also pretty promiscuous and isn't afraid to show sexual interest in someone (not unless they start to develop real feelings and she starts to back out).

She's also very loyal and deeply loving person. When she deems you as someone worthy of her love (whether it be platonic or not), she goes all in. She will go through hell and back to make sure the people she cares about are always happy and safe.

As conceited as this may sound, I kind of based Gwen off myself. The entirety of her background, her story, even the whole plot of POV started out from a daydream I had when I was bored and wanted so badly to be this badass, enhanced individual that comes to contact with the BAU. As soon as I realized that the daydream of mine was beginning to really take form, I decided on actually writing it all down.

It's why Gwen's Filipino, and a lot of Filipino culture is showcased in the book. Although I'm not exactly as beautiful, tall, smart, badass as Gwen, she started off as lil ol' me.

What's funny though was that it was originally going to be a Hotch fanfic, not a Spencer one. But I was still pretty uncertain on whether or not I should actually post it, so what I did was do a poll on one of my other books called Glitch (check it out) and majority voted for it to be a Spencer Reid fanfic, so we should all thank my Glitch readers for this wonderful story!
