chapter twenty six

hurts like hell

JORDANNA JONES WAS mad, furious even.

Tyler fucking Lockwood had dropped the witch off at Caroline's house in hopes she would watch over her best friend, stopping her from doing anything remotely stupid. The blonde then called Rebekah, ( much to her distaste ) and told her to join them.

Of course the Mikaelson hadn't been invited inside and Liz Forbes was no where to be seen, so the three girls had to reside to Caroline's garden. Caroline sat on a bench as she cautiously looked over at Jordanna and Rebekah. Rebekah's blue eyes were filled to the brim with tears while Jordanna sat with a clenched jaw, looking like she wanted to murder someone.

Preferably the blonde's 'boyfriend', Damon or Elena.

Caroline sighed, breaking the silence. "So, what are you gonna' do?"

Jordanna and Rebekah looked up at the vampire, Rebekah licked her lips—saying nothing. "Me and Bex will find his body, for now you go back to team Elena," Jordanna rolled her eyes as Caroline groaned. "Find out anything you can that'll be remotely helpful."

"But I'm bored of playing double agent," Caroline mumbled in annoyance. "It's exhausting having to be around Elena and her stupid boy-toy."

Jordanna clenched her jaw. After the homecoming dance Jordanna's hatred for the doppelganger grew, when she tried to kill her it also enraged Caroline. Did they seriously think that they'd still be 'buddy, buddy' after trying to kill her best friend?

     Absolutely not.

So for the past few months Caroline had been playing spy, telling Jordanna any information she needed on the doppelganger—or any threats that were coming her way. Caroline thought it was fun at first, the sneaking about, the scheming. But now she grew bored of it and simply wanted revenge.

"Well, suck it up," Rebekah retorted, rolling her eyes. "We need you to do this one thing without complaining, can you do that or-"

Jordanna cursed under her breath at the tension, she could feel another argument brewing up between the two blondes.

     "Excuse me! I do not—"

"Fucking shut it! Both of you," Jordanna snapped before turning to the Mikaelson. "I'm gonna need your blood so I can find Nik's body."

Rebekah nodded, biting into her wrist as Jordanna grabbed a large, golden bowl—placing it under the blonde's hand. The three stayed in silence as Jordanna began to work, she carefully placed the bowl on the table and put her fingers in the blood. Her eyes fluttered shut as she began to chant loudly, her volume decreasing as images flashed through her mind. She opened her eyes and stopped chanting before looking up at her two best friends.

     "I found him."

Caroline had called the witch telling her that she had been outed to the council—curtsy of Alaric Saltzman. So, unfortunately for her she had to leave town with Tyler.

   Poor girl.

Though Caroline did tell Jordanna that as soon as they're out of the country she would be ditching Tyler to find herself a nice French boy.

The blonde couldn't even speak fucking French.

"Ooh, Damon!" Jordanna sang eerily as she and Rebekah entered the storage unit. "Where are you?"

"Can you stop that?" Rebekah whispered, pulling a face.

     "Stop what?"

"The singing, it's creepy," Rebekah mumbled.

Jordanna looked at her with a deadpanned look. "You're an thousand year old vampire getting creeped out by my singing?"

"Just—shut up," Rebekah stumbled on her words. "This isn't funny, Damon! Where are you?"

Suddenly the two were grabbed—hands clasped over their mouths. They found themselves pressed against the wall with Damon stood in front of them.

Jordanna shook his hand off her mouth, "don't touch me."

Damon rolled his eyes, "you can hate me later but right now Alaric is here. I've already moved Klaus, we need to get him out now."

Without hesitation the three hurriedly began pushing the casket towards the SUV Damon had arrived in. A gust of wind flew past the witch and Alaric appeared—slamming Rebekah's head onto the car and carelessly throwing her body aside before going after Damon, throwing him into the wall.

Jordanna's eyes widened as the man turned to her, the white oak stake in hand. She stayed place, in front of the casket as Alaric sped to her. The witch raised her hands and began chanting but her words turned into loud cries as Alaric took her hands in his own—breaking them before throwing her to the ground next to the blonde.

Her heart was racing as he opened the casket. Jordanna and Rebekah scrambled to their feet as they tried to race to their loved one. "No!" The blonde screamed out.

"No don't!" Damon shouted at his former friend only earning a smirk in response.

"No! No!" Jordanna cried as Alaric raised the stake, stabbing Klaus through the heart. Jordanna's cries worsened as she heard Klaus' gasp before his body burst into flames. Damon rushed to the girls as they screamed and cried out, attempting to rush at the man. They thrashed about in Damon's arms, their cries echoing through the storage unit.

Alaric smirked, slamming the casket door shut. Pointing the stake in the blonde's direction, he smiled sadistically. "Next."

"Rebekah run. Take Jordanna and run," Damon shouted, pushing the witch into the Mikaelson's arms. Rebekah said nothing as she grabbed her friend's forearm and rushed them out of the storage unit to the middle of the woods—where Elijah stood, awaiting on their arrival.

"He's gone, Elijah," Rebekah breathed out as tears streamed down her face. "There was nothing we could do to stop it," she sobbed as her older brother embraced her in a tight hug. Elijah pulled away from his sister before approaching the younger girl, his eyes found her hands as she stood in a daze—her body trembling as more tears fell down her face.

"Here," Elijah bit into his wrist before holding his hand out to her.

"Thanks," Jordanna mumbled as she took his blood.

She sluggishly moved her body next to the blonde, flinching slightly as Rebekah wrapped an arms around her. "Tyler Lockwood is dead, but the rest survived," Elijah informed the girls as he swallowed roughly, keeping his own tears at bay. "You said that Niklaus turned their bloodline."

"I thought he did," Rebekah replied, sniffling.

"It wasn't me, it wasn't Kol," Elijah continued.

"It wasn't me, Elijah," Rebekah shook her head, arms tightening around Jordanna. "It was Niklaus, I'm sure of it."

Jordanna licked her lips, looking between the two Mikaelson's, "why do they deserve to live?"

Rebekah and Jordanna shared a look before speeding off.

A loved one for a loved one, an eye for an eye.

Elijah stared ahead of him with a sigh, rubbing his forehead.

Rebekah and Jordanna stood in the middle of the Wickery Bridge, staring into a void. Their heads snapped to the side as a gust of wind flashed past them.

Confusion contoured Jordanna's features as Caroline Forbes stood in front of the two, hands on hips as a large, toothy smile graced her face. "Caroline? The hell are you doing here?"

"I'm done playing double agent," the blonde sighed. "It was fun while it lasted." Jordanna and Rebekah shared a look as the blonde grabbed the witches hand. "Whose ready to kill a doppelganger?"

Rebekah chuckled, shaking her head. "Caroline bloody Forbes."

The Forbes vampire grinned before joining her other hand in Rebekah's without complaint. Jordanna's mouth opened and shut a couple of times, trying to grasp what was happening. The witch's free hand reached into her jacket pocket before pulling out her phone, she idly dialled a number—placing the phone on speaker.

     "Hello?"

"You're alive," Jordanna huffed with an eye roll. "I'd say congratulations but . . . "

     "Jordanna."

"Elijah spoke to Elena, she and Matt should be arriving back in town any minute."

"Yeah, he told me that. He also told me that the Mikaelson's would be long gone out of town right now."

"That's the problem, Dames. Elijah says they have to run, that Ricky will keep coming after them. But Bex doesn't want to run anymore, D," the raven-haired girl looked over at the blonde with a slight smirk. "She's spent her whole life running."

"What are you talking about, we had a deal."

"Well I'm sorry, but Nik is dead," her words came out shaky. "There is no deal. If the Mikaelson's are gonna' survive we need to get rid of Ric." A smirk graced the witch's lips. "Ooh, you're gonna love this . . . and the only way to get rid of Alaric is . . . "

    "Jordanna, no," Damon warned.

"Jordanna, yes," the witch mocked before ending the phone.

The Jones' hands tightened in her two best friends' as Matt's truck came speeding down the road, skidding in an attempt to dodge the trio. Jordanna rolled her eyes before closing them, chanting quietly under her breath. Her eyes fluttered open and a smile sat on her lips as she watched the car flip and fly off the bridge.

The three girls share a look as they strolled over to side of the bridge, peering down at the water, a pleased grin flashed on their lips as they watched the head lights of the god awful truck diminish.

    "I need a fucking drink."
