chapter thirty seven
realisation
━✧━
JORDANNA AND KLAUS sat in silence, side by side on the Gilbert couch. They'd been like that for hours, more or less. It'd been that long, the sun was beginning to come up. Klaus had given her his blood almost immediately after the Gilberts and that ginger witch had left ━ though, both in a daze after Kol had died, failed to notice as soon as the Mikaelson removed the any lingering pieces of glass from the witch's body, she miraculously healed.
Luckily, Jordanna had conjured up enough strength allowing herself and the hybrid to move freely around the house, as she was still weakened from the injuries she had gotten she couldn't set them free from the Gilbert residence ━ a few days give or take and she could, turns out witch bitch wasn't as strong as she made out to be.
Jordanna shifted in her seat as Klaus let out a deep pitiful sigh, the witch turned to face him with a grim look on her face, "do you want to be alone or something? I could go upstairs━"
Klaus shook his head faintly, "I just need you here right now." Jordanna rolled her lips into her mouth as she nodded slightly, the hybrid reached out, grasping the side of her neck in his hand before pulling her face to him, pressing a chaste kiss to her temple. "Are you in any pain?" His fingers skimmed over the dried, scabby blood that laid in the depths of her scalp.
"No," Jordanna breathed out, looking into his teary, sad eyes. "Just a headache, that's all."
"Good," Klaus mumbled quietly before his eyes turned dark, raging almost. "I'm going to kill the doppelganger for what she did to you . . . to Kol."
Incorrect.
Jordanna was going to do it, she just needed time . . . she wanted Elena to suffer, for everything she'd done. Her death wouldn't be short and quick, that almost seemed boring. Elena needed, she deserved a long, slow, painful death.
And if there was one thing Jordanna was good at, it was that.
Though, oddly enough, the thought of blood, murder and all that shabang made Jordanna feel sick. What the actual fuck?
"I'll be back in a minute," Jordanna mumbled, pushing her body off of Klaus' before heading upstairs.
She muttered a small silencing spell under her breath as she pushed the bathroom door open, locking it before turning to the toilet. The Jones grimaced as of the second she pulled the lid of the toilet seat up, she spewed her guts out.
Gross.
After stealing a spare toothbrush from the Gilbert bathroom the witch slumped her body down besides the counter.
What the actual fuck was happening to her?
Aches like everywhere?
Her ankles were the size of Klaus' fucking ego.
Her sudden dislike towards alcohol and smoking.
Morning sickness . . .
Oh fuck.
No.
Fuck right off.
With a shaky breath the witch reached down for her phone before sending Caroline a quick text. "Shit, shit, shit," the witch mumbled as her hands began shaking, as she placed the phone on the floor besides her.
✧
As soon as the blonde vampire woke up from her 'beauty sleep' she had one person in mind ━ Jordanna freakin' Jones.
The witch had left her a shit ton of messages panicking. So, Caroline, being the fabulous best friend she was, had made one stop before making her way to the Gilbert house.
Before the blonde even had chance to knock on the door it swung open, revealing a very stressed, tired looking witch.
"Finally," Jordanna breathed out in annoyance, grasping the blonde's arm in her hand before she tugged her inside. "What took you so long?"
"What took me so long?" Caroline questioned with a pointed look. "What took me was so long was, I was running around town buying you a-"
Though, Jordanna's hand slapped onto her mouth faster than Usain fucking bolt, immediately shutting her up, Klaus lifted his head from the couch with a questionable look settled on his face.
Jordanna turned to him with a strained smile, "we'll just be a minute."
Klaus mumbled something under his breath, waving them off as he went back to wallowing ━ staring down at the body of his deceased brother.
Jordanna nodded frantically before she dragged the blonde upstairs with her. She hastily pushed her into the bathroom and locked the door with ease as she spun back around to face the vampire.
"Have you got it?"
"You make it sound like a drug deal. Yeah, I've got it," Caroline frowned. "Jordanna-"
"I'm being stupid right?" Jordanna began pacing as Caroline took a seat on the counter, idly watching as her best friend freaked out. "I can't be ━ Klaus is a . . . shit, shit, shit."
"I mean ... it'd make sense," Caroline shrugged, pulling a blood bag from her bag. "You can't drink, you're sick, like, always and you're bitchier than normal ... it's unnerving to be around, honestly."
"Not helping," Jordanna snapped, shakily pulling the plastic bag from Caroline's grasp.
"Sorry," Caroline mumbled, sipping on her blood bag.
"Care ... I don't, I can't-"
"Just do it, okay? Besides you might not be . . . pregnant."
Jordanna let out a dramatic groan, dragging her hands down her face in exasperation. "I hate my life."
"I don't want to be like insensitive or anything, but if you are I'm gonna be an aunt!" Caroline beamed happily as Jordanna sat down on the toilet seat.
"Stop, you're making me nervous and I can't piss," Jordanna whisper shouted.
"Sorry," Caroline muttered, looking down at her feet with a nimble smile.
"Okay." Jordanna breathed out as she placed the stick on the side, under a piece of tissue. Her gaze then fell onto the grinning Forbes. "What?"
"I'm just imaging a little Jordanna running around and I'm falling in love," Caroline sighed happily.
"You're not helping," Jordanna sent her a deadpanned look.
Caroline shrugged, her smile still intact, "sorry, but this is seriously like my favourite thing ever."
"Fuck off, Caroline."
After a minute of silence Caroline spoke up again, a sheepish look on her face, "I mean, I'm not surprised to be honest. You bang more than bunnies, J."
"Stop talking," Jordanna murmured as the timer went off, she felt her breath get caught in her throat at the mere sound. "I- I think I'd rather be stuck in a room with my dad right now. Yeah, that sounds a lot more appealing."
Caroline gasped dramatically. "Dios mio." Caroline watched as the witch stood with pursed lips, staring at the test in distain. "Are you gonna check that orrr?"
"I'd rather not, no."
"J-"
"Shut up, I'm doing it," Jordanna snapped as she hesitantly moved over to it before spinning on her feet, facing the other direction. "Fuck that, I don't wanna look."
"Jordanna," Caroline sent her a pointed look.
"No, no, it'll be fine, right?" Jordanna shook her head, a hopeful look on her face. "I guess we'll find out in nine months when my fucking vagina rips itself open!"
"O-kay," Caroline muttered, looking at her strangely.
"Fuck it," Jordanna grasped it in her hands, looking down at it with wide eyes, a quiet, dramatic scream came from her lips as she threw the test down the toilet as though it burnt her.
"So?" Caroline asked with a grimace, but by the look of the witch's reaction she had a miniscule idea of what the answer was.
"Guess who's going to be an aunt?" Jordanna smiled falsely, with a shitty unenthusiastic expression on her face.
"Oh, wow," Caroline mumbled in a daze.
"Fuck," Jordanna pulled at her hair in stress. "I can't be pregnant, Caroline. I hate children, babies, kids, devils of fucking Saturn, I fucking hate them. I can barely look after myself, never mind a whole fucking child!"
"Oh━," Jordanna shuddered. "And they're like all gross and sticky and they snot a lot, like a shit ton of it, Care!"
"Jords ..."
"And Nik ... oh God. Klaus! Dio Mio! Klaus doesn't wanna be a dad, he's got that whole scary guy thing going on, you know? I can't ... shit, okay I can't breathe."
Caroline jumped down from the counter, immediately rushing to the witch, placing her hands on Jordanna's cheeks, forcing her to look at her. "Look, just calm down, okay? Then we'll decide how to tell Klaus."
"I-"
"Alright?"
Jordanna nodded hesitantly, as her mind drifted off. The witch slumped down onto the floor in distain. "Fuck me, I need a cig," she muttered in agitation ━ pulling her pack from her bag.
The blonde's eyes widened before she snatched the pack of cigarette's from the witch's hand. "Are you serious right now?"
"Shit, sorry I forgot," Jordanna chuckled to herself, her head resting on the wall.
"I don't think baby JJ will like that very much." The blonde scolded, throwing the pack in the bin ━ much to Jordanna's dismay.
Jordanna groaned. "Was there any need for that?"
"Do you want this baby to live to see daylight?" Caroline raised her eyebrows.
Jordanna pursed her lips, tilting her head aside. "I haven't made my mind up yet."
Caroline gasped, smacking the witch upside the head. "Idiot. Right, come on, we need to go downstairs before Klaus suspects something."
"Maybe he'll think we banged, we've been up here for ages." Jordanna smirked as Caroline pulled her up from the floor.
"Lesbian scandalous sex, I love it," the blonde smiled cheekily as she pulled the bathroom door open.
Jordanna chuckled as they headed downstairs, pushing away the thought of having a literal human inside of her ━ ew.
But, unfortunately for her, as soon as the pair made their way back to the main room, the front door swung open revealing none other than Tyler Lockwood.
"Can my day get any worse?" Jordanna muttered as she walked over to Klaus.
"Morning sunshine," Tyler greeted, smugly, blatantly ignoring his ex girlfriend who had decided to side with her best friend over her former lover, weird. "You both look pathetic," his eyes skimmed over the two, raising an eyebrow at Jordanna's bloodied figure.
"Could say the same about you." She flashed him her middle finger before throwing her body down onto the couch.
"Only until the witch's spell locking us in here wears off. Then I'll look different, angrier perhaps, or I won't look like anything because I'll have gouged your eyeballs from their sockets," Klaus threatened, his glare set on Tyler.
"Yeah, then I'll rip your dick off for good measure," Jordanna smirked maliciously.
"My friends will be back with the cure by then. So, I can shove it down your throat and make you mortal and kill that little bitch you call a girlfriend," Tyler smirked, tilting his head aside cockily.
"Watch your mouth, Tyler. Besides I'm an original. What makes you think my entire vampire bloodline won't be cured along with me?" Klaus's voice became stoic as he stared down the hybrid.
"You know what I think? I think that's impossible," Tyler began, walking closer towards the hybrid as Jordanna and Caroline shared a look ━ eyes flickering between the two as they had their little pissing contest. "I think the moment you stop being a vampire, our whole bloodline connected to you is broken, and your sire line ceases to exist. So, whatever happens to you, happens to only you. Which means I can kill your ass and no else has to die. Although, I am still debating just how to do it."
Klaus rolled his eyes before speeding towards the younger hybrid, Tyler jumped back slightly as his and Klaus' faces were merely inches apart.
"I recommend drowning," The Original smirked. "There's nothing quite like the feeling of someone fighting for something as basic as human breath. And let me tell you, your mother was a fighter."
"Well, shit," Jordanna whistled in amusement.
✧
Jordanna was yet to tell Klaus about the whole baby situation. One, Tyler was there. Two, she was absolutely shitting it. Three, she'd rather die.
I mean ... she'd do it eventually, like, sure. She wasn't not going to tell him, but maybe she'd wait until he was, like, immobile and unable to speak ━ she wasn't quite sure yet. Or perhaps she'd tell him he's unconscious and tied to a boat ━ that way, if he woke up the coat could simply drive off.
Anyway, Caroline had left to go pick up some clean clothes for Jordanna at her house ... soon returning.
"You're still here?" Caroline frowned in annoyance as she made her way back into the Gilbert house, her glare set on Tyler. "What are you doing?"
"Gloating," Tyler huffed, opening a cabinet door as he turned away from his ex ━ he couldn't bare to look at her, deep down he still loved and cared for her but she didn't need to know that.
Though, Klaus watched the hybrid with sceptical eyes, how his body tensed at the harsh, cold tone the Forbes spoke to him in ━ the Mikaelson could see it, he could see how the blonde vampire still had Tyler's heart deeply.
And that's how he was going to hurt him.
"Do you seriously not have anything better to do?" The blonde crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes narrowed in his direction.
"He destroyed my life, so did she-"
"I'm sorry," Jordanna interrupted with a questionable look written on her face. "What did I, myself, do to make your shitty life so miserable?"
Tyler rolled his eyes, ignoring the witch as he turned to face the blonde, "I plan on being present for every second of his misery until I can kill him myself."
Caroline scoffed in disbelief before turning to her best friend who was stood besides Klaus, her head rested on his chest as they wordlessly watched the interaction. "JJ, you can help me clean, this place is a mess."
"Do I look like I clean to you?" Jordanna scoffed, pulling a face of disgust as she looked around the room, broken chairs, her blood splattered across the walls ... Kol.
"JJ!" Caroline scolded, a pointed look on her face. "You can start with picking up all that wood, I'll get ... " Caroline cleared her throat awkwardly as her eyes flickered between the couple and the burnt corpse on the floor.
"Right," Jordanna put her thumbs up with fake enthusiasm. "I'm on it, boss."
"Thank you!" Caroline called out as Jordanna sauntered into the kitchen, pulling out a plastic bag before dumping all the broken chair pieces into it.
"Your mother is dead. So is my brother," Klaus turned his head in Tyler's direction. "We're even. Call the witch, get her to let us out of here."
"Go to Hell Klaus," Tyler snapped, glaring at him.
Jordanna and Caroline shared a look as they stopped cleaning for a moment, watching the two curiously.
"How quickly you forget the part where I saved you from the misery of being a werewolf," Klaus shrugged, tilting his head. "Or the night when Caroline's mother invited me into her home to save her life after you almost killed her."
"You killed my mom!" Tyler yelled, coming closer to the original. "Let's not forget we're standing in the house where Elena's Aunt Jenna lived, who you also killed! And I only hurt Caroline because you made me, you did that, not me!"
Klaus' jaw clenched as he stared down at the younger boy before turning to Jordanna and Caroline, his eyes filled with rage as he swiftly picked up a nearby lamp, impaling Caroline in the stomach.
"What the fuck!?"
"No!" Tyler cried out.
Jordanna gasped when Caroline cried out as the Mikaelson swung the blonde nearer to him, sharp teeth biting her neck. The witch's eyes widened as the hybrid fed on her best friend.
What the actual fuck?
Jordanna dropped the bag in her hand and rushed to Caroline, raising her fist the blonde fell from the Mikaelson's grasp before dropping to the floor.
Klaus gulped, staggering back, his eyes falling onto the witch who stared at him wide eyed before she rushed down to her best friend.
"Oh my God. Oh my God," Caroline panicked as Jordanna knelt before her with teary eyes.
"You'll be fine," Jordanna told her sternly. "I'll sort it, okay?"
Caroline nodded tearfully as the witch pressed a kiss to her forehead before rising to her feet, passing Tyler as she made her way over to Klaus. The witch stopped besides the Lockwood with a glare, "I don't like you, Tyler, like, at all ... but watch over her for me, okay?"
"Uh━ yeah," Tyler nodded grimly, making his way over to his ex, even in the state she was in still managed to throw a glare in his direction.
Jordanna grabbed Klaus by his forearm, dragging him to the pantry, hidden away from the other two. She roughly released her grip on his jacket, shoving him into the shelves as she turned and slammed the door shut behind her, she soon began pacing in front of him. "Are you stupid? What the fuck were you thinking? Scratch that! Clearly you weren't fucking thinking." Her jaw twitched in anger as tears welled up in her eyes ━ she hated being pregnant, she had cried more now than she had ever in her life.
Klaus stilled as she turned to him, anger clear in her watery eyes. "Jordanna━" before either could account for her hand darted across his face, a slapping sound echoing through the small pantry space.
Klaus' jaw ticked as his head flung to the side, he grounded his teeth in annoyance before looking back at her wordlessly. He let out a deep breath as her fists repeatedly hit his chest, her hair flying about as her hands slammed against his hard body ━ curse words flying from her mouth as she hit him.
After at least a minute of that, Klaus sighed, grabbing her forearms in his hands, speeding her against the wood of the door behind her.
"Are you done?" He looked down into her eyes, tears swelling up whilst anger danced around in them.
"Not really." The witch gritted out with a glare as she struggled against him, coming to no avail she ventured for kicking him in the leg until he let her go.
"Sweetheart, I will heal her, I promise you. I only did it to hurt Tyler, not you," Klaus whispered, resting his head on hers. The Jones turned her head, clenching her jaw.
He bit her best friend and wasn't supposed to hurt her?
Okay, yeah, that totally made sense.
"You better, Klaus, or I swear to God ..." She didn't have to finish the sentence for Klaus to know what the unspoken threat was.
"I will, I will." He assured. He was beginning to see the negatives of him biting his girlfriend's best friend, but his intention was only to piss Tyler off. Not her.
Which backfired, awfully.
"Now," Jordanna raised her eyebrows.
Well ...
"Jordanna, love," Klaus sighed. "It can't be that easy for him, he has to beg me for it."
"What? Do I have to beg you too?" Jordanna tilted her head with an eyeroll.
Well . . . not under this circumstance butttt . . .
"Just wait a little while, play along and I promise you I will heal her."
"Klaus," Jordanna warned.
"Nik," he corrected.
"Fuck off. I hate you right now." She breathed out in annoyance, scowling at the small smile spread across his lips.
"I love you," he whispered.
"Don't start that shit. Heal her," Jordanna muttered with a sigh, resting her head against the door.
"I told you I will," Klaus insisted, dropping the sweet persona. "Give me time."
"Why?"
He was asking her to risk her best friend's life so he could piss Tyler off . . .
Yeah, makes perfect sense.
"Because you love me and know that I will heal her," Klaus told her firmly, so sure of his words.
Jordanna sighed, shutting her eyes in agitation. "If she dies ... "
Klaus smiled at the warning tone in her voice. "She won't."
Jordanna nodded slightly, pursing her lips, she only agreed to this because she trusted him. She couldn't tell whether she was being stupid or not.
Probably.
✧
Caroline laid on the couch, her head rested in Jordanna's lap as she ran her fingers through her hair.
She sat muttering names to the witch, who simply rolled her eyes at the blonde whilst Klaus watched in confusion ━ assuming that she was becoming delusional from the bite whilst Tyler ignored the blondes yammering as he worried for his ex's life.
Caroline sighed as she watched Tyler approach the Mikaelson, doing as Klaus asked and began begging him.
"Am I going to die?" Caroline muttered to Jordanna as the other two in the room became distracted.
"Are you fuck," Jordanna whispered, shaking her head slightly with a strained smile. "You'll be fine, Care-Bear."
"Okay, okay," Caroline breathed out, shutting her eyes in relief. "Good, I want to go baby shopping with you."
Jordanna's hand slapped against the blonde's mouth, Caroline stifled a chuckle as she grasped her hand weakly against Jordanna's wrist.
"Shut the fuck up," Jordanna whisper shouted, cautiously looking up at Klaus to see he was still engaged in conversation with Tyler.
"You haven't told him yet?" Caroline asked.
"Nope," Jordanna shook her head. "I only found out today, Care, besides he bit you, he can wait."
"Huh," Caroline rose her brows.
"What you thinking about?" Jordanna asked after a moment of silence.
"You," Caroline told her with a small smile.
"Is there something you need to tell me Caroline Forbes?" Jordanna smirked lightly, looking down at her best friend.
"Shut up," Caroline chuckled weakly. "No, you as a mom ... I just can't see it."
"Same, to be honest. I'd be the worst mom, God, I already feel bad for this thing." Jordanna sighed.
"No," Caroline shook her head. "I think you'll get used to it and of course you'll have amazing Aunt Caroline there to help."
Jordanna rolled her eyes playfully at the beaming smile on the dying girl's face, her head snapped up as Tyler approached them.
"You can't stay here, not with them." Tyler told the blonde, his eyes narrowed at the witch.
Jordanna rolled her eyes, dismissing his words. "Bye-bye, Lockwood."
"Caroline-"
"Just go, Tyler." The blonde sighed, looking away from her ex-boyfriend.
"You heard the girl," Jordanna smiled smugly.
Tyler bit the inside of his cheek, shaking his head as he stormed out of the Gilbert house like a sulking child.
Jeez.
✧
Jordanna's head snapped up as Klaus made his way back into the main room, his eyes on the two girls who were still positioned on the couch.
Caroline gulped as she, too, looked up at the hybrid. "Hey, are you, like, done with your whole revenge thing? Can you heal me now?"
Klaus opened his mouth before shutting it as he saw the tired look on both their faces, he silently made his way over to them before biting into his wrist.
Jordanna smiled in relief as he fed the blonde his blood, "I am sorry for the inconvenience, Caroline. I got bored."
Though her smile diminished as she gaped at him.
He was bored.
Caroline huffed out a chuckle. "You know, when I'm bored I go shopping. Not try to kill my girlfriend's best friend, maybe you should do that instead or next time ... when you wanna piss Tyler off ... find something else to do."
Klaus smiled, "I'll keep that in mind."
Jordanna watched as the hybrid sent them one last smile before he rose from his seat, making his way into the kitchen.
Caroline watched her stare after him, confliction on her face.
"Go." She urged.
"I'm good," Jordanna shook her head.
"I'm fine, he healed me, you can talk to him again," Caroline lifted her head from the witch's lap.
"He bit you. He nearly killed you." Jordanna deadpanned.
"But he didn't," Caroline rose a brow knowingly.
"Yeah, but-"
"Yeah, but nothing," Caroline mocked with an eyeroll. "I'm not mad, he could've let me die and he didn't, now go talk to him, he looks like a mopey dog."
"He is a dog," Jordanna snorted as she hesitantly pushed her self from the couch.
Her fingers reached for the necklace that hung around her neck, the witch found herself fiddling with it nervously as she made her way to the hybrid.
The original's head shot up as he heard the clicking of heels against the floor, he sent her a small smile as she made her way to him ━ his body tensing as he leant against the counter sides.
"Uh, thank you," Jordanna said sheepishly. "Well, sorta. I mean, she wouldn't have needed healing if you hadn't bit her but you didn't have to heal her so yeah ... thanks, I guess."
"I wouldn't have let her die, Jordanna," Klaus shook his head softly, pushing his body up as he grew closer to the witch. "As much as I aspire to anger the Lockwood boy, your feelings matter to me much more." Jordanna sighed as he took her hands in his. "I apologise if I hurt you. That was never my intention."
"Hm," Jordanna hummed ━ still mad, great.
"Forgive me?" Klaus asked sweetly.
"She almost died, Nik," she frowned. "It'll take more than an apology and giving her blood for an injury you caused."
"But she's not dead," Klaus spoke pointedly. "And Caroline forgave me."
"Because Caroline's a sweetheart," Jordanna rolled her eyes.
"So you don't forgive me?" Klaus frowned.
"Yet. You have to earn it," she told him.
"And how do I do that?" Klaus questioned placing his hands on her waist.
"You're one thousand years old, use your imagination." The witch tutted.
Klaus sighed, resting his head on her shoulder in irritation. "Fine." He mumbled like a child.
Jordanna chuckled, leaning her head against his, maybe now was a good time to tell him.
Did that mean she was going to?
Did it fuck.
There was no way in hell she was telling him while they were stuck in fucking Elena Gilbert's house.
Of all people it had to be her house.
Call her petty or whatever you shall but she'd rather be eaten by a dragon and shit back out than experience something that could either a. be traumatic or b. be surprisingly exciting in Elena Goddamn Gilbert's house.
Jordanna sighed, a small smile broke from her lips, "I do love you, you know? But if you pull that shit again, I will find a way to kill you."
"I know. I know you will," he mumbled, brushing his lips against her forehead. "I love you."
✧
"Tell me you're not serious," Tyler frowned in annoyance, a stressed look dancing across his face.
"I wish I weren't," Elena sighed through the phone. "When we got back from looking for Jeremy, Shane and Bonnie were gone too. Shane needs Bonnie to cast a spell on Jeremy's tattoo in order to find the cure and he managed to sneak them both out from under our noses."
"Well isn't that a shame," Jordanna snickered to Caroline and Klaus.
"Well, where's Damon?" Tyler asked, rolling his eyes at the trio.
Elena frowned. "We had an argument. I thought he was just taking a walk, but then when we went to the beach, we saw signs of a struggle."
Tyler straightened up in worry. "Meaning what?"
"Is he stupid?" Jordanna whispered, leaning over to Caroline.
"It appears so." The blonde whispered back. "He always had his little moments when we was in a relationship. I thought it was cute." At the side-eye Jordanna she quickly jumped to defend herself. "Thought. I thought. Past tense. Jesus."
"Meaning somebody probably jumped him and then grabbed him."
"Do you think Shane took him?" Tyler furrowed his brows in question.
"Lets hope so," Jordanna narrowed her eyes as Klaus huffed out a chuckle, draping his arm across her shoulder, who shrugged it off with a look.
She had come up with a 'no touching' rule until he was 100% forgiven.
It was safe to say Klaus was not a huge fan of this and if she was being honest, neither was she.
"No," Elena answered the Lockwood. "I mean, he's not strong enough to take Damon on, even with the element of surprise. He must have someone, or at least a few someone's helping him."
"I wish I was there to help," Tyler sighed, running his hand down his face.
"Well, maybe there's something you can do from home."
"Anything, tell me," Tyler spoke quickly, feeling completely useless in the situation.
"So, Shane's looking for the cure. We think we can find him," Elena explained, glancing over at Stefan and Rebekah. "We have pictures of Jeremy's tattoo, but we just can't translate the map ... "
"Unless you get the hunter's sword from Klaus," Tyler sighed in realisation.
"Exactly." The doppelganger nodded.
"I'll get it. Just e-mail me photos of Jeremy's tattoo," Tyler instructed. "I'll call you back when I find it."
"Thank you, Tyler."
Tyler hung up, rising from the couch as he grabbed his jacket. "Need any help, doll?" Jordanna smirked in his direction.
"No." Tyler strode out the house, not giving her a second look.
"Ass-hat."
✧
Jordanna, Klaus and Caroline sat on the coffee table as Tyler waltzed back into the Gilbert residence, a laptop and the hunter's sword in his grasp.
"Well, if it isn't little orphan Lockwood. Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?" Klaus turned his attention to the hybrid, his fingers drumming against the witches thigh, ignoring as she tried to pry his hand away from her leg.
"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure," Tyler replied, placing the laptop down onto the couch before raising the sword for the original to see. "Found this in your attic."
"Wow," Jordanna rolled her eyes, sarcasm dripping from her tone. "Ten points for you, Lockwolf."
"And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?" Klaus nodded towards the Hunter's sword.
"You tell me, I was playing around with the handle on the ride over and I found this," Tyler unwrapped the leather from the sword.
"And what do you think this is?" Klaus raised his eyebrows.
"It's called a cryptex," Caroline revealed, an astonished look spread across her face.
Jordanna turned to the blonde, her brows raised in surprise.
"What? I've seen the da vinci code." Caroline shrugged, pushing her body from the table to get a closer look. "You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side."
"Uh ━ yeah," Tyler cleared his throat as he stared at his ex in surprise. "And Elena sent over these." The hybrid held up pictures of Jeremy's tattoos. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away. If you want to help, I wouldn't stop you."
"I think I'd rather drown, but thanks," Jordanna smiled falsely.
"Right. Well, might I suggest using the magic of the internet to purchase an Aramaic to English dictionary from your nearest retailer." A malicious smirk pulled at Klaus' lips.
"What's Aramaic?"
"A dead language," Jordanna grinned.
"It hasn't been used since, like, biblical times," Caroline added.
"Qetsiyah's native tongue, I'm guessing. You know, even if you had the best dictionary in the world, it could take days to translate," Klaus spoke in amusement, leaning back against the table. "Perhaps weeks. In bas so-teen-too-ara-ma-eet."
Wow.
That's it, just wow ━ stop.
"What does that mean?" Tyler frowned.
"If only you spoke Aramaic," Klaus smiled widely.
✧
Jordanna boredly twirled a lock of hair around her finger as she watched Tyler look over at the index cards spread out along the table.
"Okay, this is it. I translated all the symbols on the tattoo," Tyler announced with a smile.
Jordanna frowned as she pushed herself up from her seat and strode towards Tyler. She nastily snatched the card from his hand. "Passage inside requires a young senator, and a pretty flower." Jordanna looked up at him with a deadpanned stare. "Well done, Sherlock, you cracked the code."
"Requires a powerful witch and a hunter in full bloom," Klaus corrected.
Tyler narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing?"
"It's called talking, Lockwood," Jordanna rolled her eyes. "You should know that, you do enough of it."
"I don't need to tell you my reasons," Klaus' eyes flickered over to the witch. "Jordanna, love, bring my sword over here."
Jordanna lifted the sword from the table, sending Tyler a smug smirk as he tried to take it from her grasp only for her to dodge out of his way. She sent the Mikaelson a glare as she reached him. "I'm not a maid, you know?"
"You're right, you're not. However, you would look ravishing in one of those little maid outfits. Now ... if you don't mind ... hush," Klaus silenced her as he began to read the cryptex. "Silas rests on the far side, the means of his destruction at hand, turn the cryptex to the right." Jordanna did as he said. "Stop. The top of the hilt reveals a key to a nautical map. Turn it a little to the left, sweetheart." The witch obeyed, watching the hybrid in curiosity. "Now turn the other piece, there's something else."
Klaus' eyes flickered to Jordanna's, her brows raised in question.
His voice low as he spoke Aramaic again, Jordanna tilted her head as she watched amusement dance across his face.
"What does it mean?" Tyler questioned.
Klaus just smiled at the hybrid, raising his eyebrows.
"Klaus, what does it mean?" Tyler asked, his voice raising slightly.
"Well, well, well," Jordanna hummed with a smile. "I wonder."
✧
"Hello?"
"Hey, it's Tyler. I have the translation of the tattoo, I'm emailing you pictures of the map and instructions right now."
"Got it, thanks." Rebekah checked her phone, placing it back to her ear once seeing she received the email.
"Actually, it was me," Klaus chimed in.
"Nik, you helped?"
"You sound so surprised, little sister."
"Shouldn't I be?" Rebekah raised her eyebrows. "I mean, you don't want me to be human. You don't want any of us to be human. Why would you help us find the cure?"
"Maybe I finally realized the longer I stand in the way of what you want, the longer you'll continue to hate me. Perhaps I want my sister to finally know happiness."
"Fool me once, shame on you, fool me a hundred times ━"
"No more fooling, no more games, I hope you get to live and die as you wish," Klaus cut her off.
"So do I," Rebekah nodded with a sigh.
"There is one more thing, Rebekah," Klaus announced with a smirk. "There is only one dose of the cure. You need to find it first and take it. It's the only way you'll-"
Jordanna snickered as Tyler rushed forward, ending the call before Klaus could say anymore.
✧
Jordanna smiled happily as she and Klaus exited the Gilbert house. The Forbes vampire sat on the porch waiting for her best friend.
After Tyler had stormed off Jordanna finally had time to complete the spell ━ freeing her and Klaus from that bin the Gilbert's call a home.
"Finally," Caroline breathed out, coming to a rise from her seat. "So it worked?"
"Duh."
"So what now?" Caroline's eyes subtly darted down to the witch's stomach.
Jordanna rolled her eyes. "Now, I wait for Elena to come back, hopefully kill her for real this time and kill that stupid witch bitch then go to bed."
"Oh ━ uh, well, you have fun with that," Caroline's eyebrows shot up.
"I will, night night, Care!"
