chapter eleven
wanky
━✧━
THREE OF THE four girls stood outside of Mystic Falls High, staring up at it in a daze, Jordanna on the over hand looked like she wanted to die—genuinely. She didn't think she could hate a building more, but here she was, stood staring up at the school as though she wanted to burn it to smithereens.
You know what, it sounded like a fuckin' plan!
"Here we are, senior year," Caroline breathed out, a small smile on her face as she stood besides Jordanna, arms linked together.
Bonnie turned to face the three girls, "anyone think this should feel more-"
"-More nothing. School is shit and makes me want to die," Jordanna huffed, rolling her tired eyes. She was tired, so fucking tired. Who decided it was a good idea to be up at this time in the morning to learn things that she didn't even need in the future.
"Okay. So prank night was a bust," the bubbly, blonde vampire said, trying to lighten the mood.
"That's the understatement of the fuckin' century. I mean, seriously, did you see those decorations? God, it was terrible," the Jones witch huffed. "It looked like the Easter Bunny had thrown up all over the gym, then the fucking Grinch waltzed on in, ate it and then shit it back out."
"But we are accepting it, " Caroline stated with a deep sigh, shooting the raven-haired girl a pointed look. "And we are moving on."
The four girls headed towards the entrance just as Bonnie spoke up, "you're right. I mean why should I let the fact that my boyfriend is seeing the ghost of his dead girlfriend hinder this experience?"
"Yes!" Caroline exclaimed, agreeing with the Bennett. "And why should I let the fact that my boyfriend was turned into a hybrid put a damper on an otherwise fabulous day?"
"I spent my summer with an extremely hot, murderous Original vampire and his equally as hot sister, so my life's going pretty great," Jordanna grinned whilst the girls sent her glares.
"Today's our anniversary," Elena said abruptly, coming to a stop, "technically Stefan and I met on the first day of school last year"
"Yeah you win."
Jordanna raised her eyebrows, brows creasing as she blinked.
"Are you sure you want to be here?" Bonnie asked, placing a hand on Elena's arm.
"I have to be here, I have to put it behind me. New year, new life," Elena nodded, walking off into the school.
New year, new life . . . seriously?
Caroline and Bonnie shared a look as Jordanna rolled her eyes, "how the hell does she win?"
"Jordanna . . . " Bonnie warned, sending her a pointed look, though she was slightly amused.
"I'm just saying . . . " Jordanna mumbled, defending herself as she held her hands up. "I don't get why it's a competition, 'oh, yeah, I have the shittiest life, look at me'," Jordanna mocked in a deep voice as she pushed the doors open, turning to walk backwards she faced her two best friends. "But if anything . . . Bonnie, you win, no offense."
✧
Jordanna grinned as Caroline pinned up a poster for the bonfire on the notice board.
The blonde vampire turned around to her best friend, an even bigger grin sat on her lips. "So . . . "
"So?" Jordanna drawled out with raised eyebrows.
"What's Klaus like?" Caroline smirked, sending the witch a knowing glance.
"He's . . ." Jordanna trailed off, not exactly knowing how to describe the hybrid. "Angry?" She paused at the look the blonde sent her. "I don't know what you want me to say, Caroline. He's Klaus. That says enough, doesn't it?"
Caroline's eyes widened in realization, "Jordanna Jones you like him!"
"No—I," Jordanna narrowed her eyes into slits. "I didn't even say anything, how could you possibly know that? Or think that? We're not ten, I don't like him. He's a friend . . . kind of. "
"Friend my ass. Don't lie, it's all in your face," Caroline sang teasingly as she wiggled her finger in the witch's face, nudging her side.
"Is it fuck 'all in my face'," Jordanna grumbled, fiddling with the arm of her Givenchy bag. "You're just jumping to extreme conclusions. I don't like him, is he hot? Duh! But I don't like him. I don't like anyone. Especially you, right now."
"Your secret's safe with me," Caroline whispered lowly, smirking slightly. Jordanna rolled her eyes and elbowed the vampire in the ribs harshly before the two turned, finding a frustrated Elena stood by her locker.
Caroline and Jordanna watched in amusement as Elena slammed her locker shut "soo dramatic."
"I forgot about the bonfire," the doppelganger said as she lifted her head upon hearing Jordanna's voice—looking at the poster.
"You have to go!" Caroline whined. "It's our first spirit squad event and it sets the bar for the whole year—"
Elena cut the blonde off, "relax Caroline, I'll be there."
"Thank you... it's just that-" Caroline was interrupted yet again as Tyler passionately kissed her.
"Ew."
"O-kay," Elena mumbled, rolling her lips into her mouth, awkwardly looking away.
"That physically hurt my eyes," Jordanna breathed out to herself, looking up at the ceiling as she pursed her lips.
"Happy first day!" Tyler greeted the three girls.
Caroline frowned, reaching up she touched her bottom lip, pulling her fingers away her eyes widened as she looked down at the crimson on her skin.
"Is that blood?" Elena questioned with wide eyes.
"Oh my god!" Caroline scoffed in irritation, grabbing Tyler by his collar and dragging him into the girls bathroom, followed by Elena and Jordanna.
"What's going on?" Tyler asked with furrowed brows.
"Vampire one-oh-one, don't wear your breakfast to school!" Caroline scolded, hitting him on the shoulder.
"Idiot . . ." Jordanna muttered, pinching between her brows. "Dude, I'm not even a vampire and I know that, it's common sense really."
"Chill out, it was just a blood bag," Tyler tried to reason, raising his hands defensively.
"From where?" Caroline frowned.
"Rebekah hooked me up," Tyler half-heartedly shrugged.
"Rebekah? And what are you even talking to her for?" The blonde exclaimed as Jordanna stifled a laugh.
"Klaus told her to keep a watch on me, protect his new asset," he smirked slightly.
"Oh mio dio," oh my god, Jordanna muttered under her breath.
"His what? Why are you amused by this?" Caroline snapped.
"I'm his first successful hybrid Caroline, don't you think that's the tiniest bit awesome?" Tyler asked.
"He's got a point," Jordanna added, earning a glare from the two other girls while Tyler snorted at her comment.
"Jordanna," Caroline warned, earning an eye roll from the witch.
"So, I'm going to go," Elena announced awkwardly as she turned to exit the bathroom. "Good luck."
"Yeah, okay—I'm gonna' go as well . . ." Jordanna muttered, ignoring the pleading look from Tyler as she exited the bathroom. "Bye Care!"
As she walked out of the bathroom, a familiar face caught her eye.
"Hey Steffy," Jordanna grinned as she noticed the, now emotionless, vampire holding onto Elena's arm. Letting out a huff she gripped onto the Salvatore's arm and snapped his wrist backwards, breaking his hold from Elena, "don't man-handle her, Stefan."
God, she hated when a man got 'touchy', almost as much as she hated her father.
"Always a pleasure, Jordanna," Stefan smiled sarcastically, snapping his wrist back into place, earning the same from the witch.
Alaric walked out of his classroom, watching as the Salvatore tried to intimidate the younger witch whose face merely held an amused expression.
"What's going on here?" The history teacher said as he placed a hand on Stefan's chest pushing him away from the girl.
Before any of them could do anything, Stefan had Alaric pinned to the lockers by his neck. "You're not gonna' want to get in my way, okay Ric?" Stefan released the man, sending the three a smile. "I will see you all in history," he patted Alaric on the shoulder and sent a smirk to Jordanna before walking off.
"God, I wanna' go home already," she turned to Alaric with a questionable look on her face. "Do you feel like writing me a sick note or something, y'know, so I can leave?"
"No."
"No? Really?"
Alaric grabbed her by the shoulders and began steering her in the direction of his classroom, "you take too many days off. Go to class, Jords."
"Boo," Jordanna crooned sarcastically. "Cross out, Ric."
✧
Jordanna sat slumped in one of the uncomfortable chairs in Alaric's classroom, discreetly rolling a cigarette under her desk as she watched the room fill with other students.
"Welcome back seniors, let's turn our brains back on, starting with this country's original founders . . . the Native Americans," Alaric started, clasping his hands together.
Jordanna tuned out Alaric's voice and began playing with her hair when a voice snapped her out of her daze. "What about the Vikings?" Rebekah asked as she strutted into the classroom, taking a seat besides the witch.
"There's no evidence that Viking explorers actually settled in the United States. Who are you?" The history teacher questioned with a puzzled look.
"My name's Rebekah, I'm new," she said as she placed her chin in her palm. "And history's my favourite subject," The Original smiled slyly.
✧
Jordanna stood on the field, in front of her fellow cheerleaders and the juniors who were there for try-outs, her hands braced on her hips, hair pulled up into a ponytail as she assessed the newcomers.
"Does anyone know where Dana is?" Someone from the squad asked.
"Dana transferred last minute, I know, totally unprofessional of her," Jordanna smirked with a shrug when Caroline sent her a look that screamed, your best friend mauled her to death, show some sympathy. "It shouldn't come as a surprise to you really, she was annoying like that. Meaning, we have an extra space on the team! So ladies, gentlemen, I need you at your best! I don't have slackers on my team, and I certainly don't have uncommitted, useless people like Dana! I only have the best, so you better be prepared to give me that! Okay? Right, you have ten to stretch then I wanna see your routines. Go, go, go!" She clapped along to each syllable.
Jordanna walked away from the front and made her way over to the blonde vampire, crossing her arms over Stefan's large varsity jacket that she stole from him after he ditched the team.
"That was very two thousand's teen movie of you," Caroline teased, pushing her body up from the floor. "You remind me of that bitch from Bring it On."
"Yeah, well, they need to get it into their thick heads," Jordanna rose her voice towards the end of the sentence, glancing at the newcomers pointedly, "that I don't want slackers."
Caroline found the ambitious and determined looks on the Juniors' faces rather amusing, they looked as though it was their life's mission to be a part of the team. "Wait 'til they find out you don't even like cheerleading that much and you're only captain 'cause you get to scream at everyone without getting told off."
Jordanna shrugged, reaching to the ground she grabbed Caroline's water bottle, brushing stray pieces of grass from her bare legs before bringing the bottle up to her lips, "They ain't gonna find out, I'm fine. They're my bitches."
Caroline rolled her eyes, "They're not your puppets, Jords. They're people."
Jordanna gave her a look, "If I told banana tits over there to go get me a pack of Marlboro's, what would she say? She'd say yeah. If I asked Callum the Clap boy to do me a run around the field fifteen times, he'd do it, no complaint. They either love me or they're scared of me, either way I get what I want so I don't really care."
Caroline stared at her for a moment. "I really wonder why we're best friends 'cause you're a bitch, JJ." The blonde gave her a pointed glare as she lowered to the ground to begin her stretching. "Also, stop with the names, her name is Vera and Callum does not have the clap! And he's not even called Callum, it's Michael!" Caroline whisper-hissed over at her.
"Callum sounds better though," Jordanna mumbled to herself before she narrowed her eyes down at the blonde and threw her pom-poms in her face. "Get back to work, Forbes."
"I hear you have an opening on the squad." Jordanna heard a voice say behind her, the Jones turned, finding a smiling Rebekah stood behind her.
Caroline looked between the two. "JJ," she hissed, wondering why the original was there.
Jordanna shrugged innocently. "Like I said, Care, we have an extra space on the team now that Dana's . . . gone. It's Rebekah's if she's good enough for my team."
The blonde original looked smugly at the younger vampire before she began stretching.
"You get five minute prep time before I slowly lose my interest, Mikaelson," Jordanna rose her brows, bending down to the water cooler she grabbed a bottle and tossed it towards Rebekah. "Don't let me down, Blondie."
✧
After practice Jordanna and Caroline went to the Forbes residence to get ready for the bonfire before the Scooby Gang met back in Alaric's classroom later on that night.
"I'll lure Stefan away from the bonfire, then when he's distracted . . ." Elena started.
"I'll shoot him," Alaric finished.
Jordanna twirled Klaus' necklace around her finger as she leant against a desk, "I don't understand how vamp-napping him will help him, it's stupid."
"Can't Bonnie or Jords just ju-ju him or something?" Damon spoke up with a frown, glancing down at the witch.
"Nope, I'm not involved—" the witch gestured around the room. "—in this. I'm only here because Caroline dragged me. I'm not apart of this plan, my ears are victims."
Elena rolled her eyes as Jordanna placed her hands over her ears eccentrically, the doppelganger turned back to the others with an irritated huff. "Plus we're trying to keep Bonnie out of this, I don't trust that Stefan won't hurt her. Caroline are you covered?"
"Yeah. I'll make sure the old Forbes jail cell is prepared and ready," the blonde told them with a smile.
"Wanky" Jordanna muttered.
"We're forgetting a key player here, Rebekah? Wherever Stefan goes the blonde ponytail tends to follow," Damon said as he crossed his arms over his chest, a more serious tone taking over.
"Which is why you're going to distract her," Elena smirked resulting in a loud snort from the Jones witch.
"What?" Damon exclaimed. "How? She's an original. Last time I checked, we're out of daggers," the Salvatore grumbled earning a whack on the head from Jordanna. "Ow!" He hissed as her rings met his scalp.
"No daggers," she pointed at him with a stern expression on her face.
"Preoccupy her with your charm," the doppelganger told him with a shrug.
"What charm?" Jordanna snorted. "He's as charming as a pig's ass."
"Might have better luck finding the dagger," the history teacher stated, earning laughs from the rest of the group.
"Are you ever not going to be mad at me for a day?" Damon asked Alaric.
Shaking his head he answered Damon, "doubtful."
The demeanour in the room shifted as a cheery Tyler Lockwood strutted into the classroom, "sorry I'm late. What's going on?"
"We need you to raid your mom's vervain supply," Elena told him. "Enough to keep Stefan down for a while."
"You can't do that to Stefan," Tyler answered, looking towards everyone in the room with a frown.
"Why not?" Caroline questioned her boyfriend.
"Trust me, Tyler, it's in his best interest-" Elena began to explain, only to be cut off by the hybrid.
"Yeah, but it's not in Klaus'," he shot back.
Jordanna narrowed her eyes at him as she closely watched Tyler. "But Klaus is the bad guy, Tyler. Why are you acting like some freaky, hybrid slave minion?" Caroline snapped, glaring at her boyfriend.
"Uh-oh," Damon mumbled.
Jordanna's eyes widened in realisation as she shared a look with Damon. "Jesus," she whispered lowly.
"Klaus made me who I am Caroline, I owe him everything," Tyler said defensively.
"Oh boy," Damon spoke up again as Jordanna pushed herself up from the desk she was leaning on.
"Okay, can we cool it on the commentary please?" Caroline snapped, looking pointedly between Damon and Jordanna.
"Look I'm just going to go," Tyler muttered awkwardly, turning to walk out the door. But, before he could do that, Jordanna twisted her wrist and watched as Tyler's neck snapped, sending his body slumping into a pile on the floor.
"Jordanna!" Caroline scolded with wide eyes and she crouched down to the floor. "What are you doing?"
The witch rolled her eyes at her best friend's dramatics. "He's been sired," she shrugged, informing the group who were giving her wary glances.
"He's been what?" The blonde vampire asked her best friend, face scrunched up in confusion.
"Sired. He feels loyal to Klaus because Klaus' blood created him," Damon answered for her, watching as Jordanna prodded Tyler's body with the end of her stiletto.
"Loyal how?" The doppelganger asked as she glanced at the Lockwood.
"What do you mean 'loyal how'?" Jordanna pulled a face. "Loyal loyal. What other kind of loyal is there?"
"Loyal how, Jordanna?" Elena rolled her eyes, awaiting an answer.
"He'll seek acceptance from Klaus. It's rare. Apparently not so much in hybrids," Jordanna responded, slightly amused. How unfortunate. Upon seeing the confusion cover Caroline's face, the witch dumbed it down for her. "He's Klaus' little bitch, Care."
"So, how do I fix him?" Caroline quietly asked after a moment of silence, a hopeful look played on her face.
"Get a new boyfriend," Damon deadpanned.
✧
One thing Jordanna loved about Mystic Falls was they knew how to throw a party, whether it be a big celebration in the Founders Hall or a dance in the auditorium, they always knew how to throw a damn party. Her personal favourite? The ones in the woods.
There was something about the vibe of it that just made her eternally happy. Jordanna leant against a tree as she awaited on someone, her eyebrows shot up as she saw the boy slowly make his way over to her, cautiously looking around, gee, make it more obvious.
"You Jordanna?" The boy nodded in greeting.
She pulled a face at the ordeal, "Yeah. You got it or not, sweetheart? I haven't got all day."
The boy slowly nodded, dragging his beanie further down his head whilst his other hand subconsciously reached into his dusty, ripped jeans pocket, pulling out a pack of white powder. And no, she wasn't doing coke. It was more of a . . . witchy herb, devils spirit. The thing with Mystic Falls is there was people all over selling shit to do with the supernatural, so Jordanna wasn't surprised when she found that someone was selling devils spirit.
The Jones chewed on her gum boredly, pulling her money out from her bra before she handed it to him, snatching the baggie out of his hand. She looked up as she noticed he was still lingering, "Yes?"
"I'm Graham, by the way."
A false smile pulled at her lips. "Great!" She enthused sarcastically. "You can go now." She began to shoo him off, but he wouldn't budge.
"Look, here's my number," the boy pulled out a ripped piece of paper with his number scribbled down on. "Give me a call if you need anything else."
Jordanna pursed her lips as she watched a smirk pull at his, he turned and sauntered away. "Don't hold your breath," Jordanna muttered as she scrunched the paper up into a ball and tossed it behind her. The raven-haired witch discreetly placed her red cup down onto the ground and pulled the baggie open. A manicured nail fished down and she scooped a little under her nail before she brought it up to her nose, inhaling sharply.
It was a little while later when Jordanna threw the, now empty, bottle of tequila to the ground and stumbled as she went to find another drink.
Her eyes caught sight of her two friends and Elena stood at a kegger, walking over to them she snatched a drink out of a random person's hand and grimaced as she tasted the bitter taste of beer on her tongue.
Groaning she threw the cup to the floor, she went in search for a real drink. A grin curved at her lips as she spotted an unopened bottle of vodka, she snatched it from the table and made her way over to the trio.
"Ciao amori miei," hello my lovelies, she giggled, approaching Rebekah, Stefan and Elena.
"JJ! My favourite witch!" The emotionless vampire smirked, throwing his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into him as she grinned.
"Maybe you should sit down, J," Elena advised before walking away from the remaining three, not without shooting the two vampires a glare.
"How's the high school life treating you?" Jordanna asked Rebekah, playing with her necklace. Well Klaus' necklace, catching the blonde's attention, who smiled softly in recognition. "Bored yet?" The witch slurred.
"O-kay," Stefan smiled tightly, taking the vodka bottle as he patted her shoulder patronizingly. "You need to sit down."
"Steffy, you're not my babysitter," Jordanna groaned, pushing the vampire away from her, stumbling slightly.
"Ah—ah" Stefan said, wiggling his finger in her face. "Klaus told me to keep an eye on you Jords, I'm just doing what I'm told."
"Can't you do it from afar," Jordanna groaned and shooed him away with her hand. "Let me get drunk in peace, please."
Without waiting for an answer, Jordanna ran off into the crowd in a fit of giggles. Body slumping on a bench near a group of teenagers. Her gaze mindlessly stared at the bonfire in front of her, and in her intoxicated state the fire shot up, growing larger. A few scared gasps echoed around her and murmurs followed along, Jordanna smacked her hand over her mouth in shock.
Oops?
"Cameron!" She sang, earning said boy's attention. "Tequila! Get me tequila," she laughed obnoxiously. Cameron rolled his eyes at her demands but got her the drink nonetheless. A sweet smiled pulled at his lips as he handed her the bottle, she remembered my name.
"Thank you," she drawled out as she stood up from the bench and walked away from the boy before he could initiate a conversation.
No time for talk!
Drinking only!
Skipping over to the large crowd of teenagers she began to dance to the music as it boomed through the woods, the golden shadow of the fire burning her eyes. She took a big swig of the tequila, wincing as it burned slightly and warmed her heart.
The worse it tastes, the better!
✧
After spending a while dancing Jordanna found Rebekah, sitting on a log near the fire. "You having fun Bex?" The witch asked, taking a seat besides the original.
"I suppose," Rebekah hummed, looking over at the witch. "You sobered up yet?"
"Ish," Jordanna shrugged.
"Hm. Have you spoken to Nik?" The original asked curiously as she eyed her brother's necklace, which was still hanging on the witch's neck .
"Not since he left, why?" Jordanna questioned with furrowed brows.
Smirking slightly the blonde shook her head, "no reason."
As the raven haired witch was about to respond to the original she shut her mouth as Damon joined them on the log.
"What, no friends your own age?" Rebekah asked, glancing up at the younger vampire.
"Like you can talk," he retorted, nodding his head in Jordanna's direction who just glared in response.
Jordanna's numb, slightly drunk state, zoned out as she stared into the fire, incoherent mumbles leaving her mouth. Damon and Rebekah shared a quick look and the latter spoke up. "Are you alright?"
Instead of answering the question, Jordanna went on to say. "Do you know how many nightmares I've had that start like this?" She questioned before raising her gaze and pointing at Damon. "And most of them involve you."
"You dream about me, huh?" A smirk danced on his lips.
"She said nightmares, idiot," Rebekah scoffed.
"We all sit around a fire, me and the people I've killed and you for some reason, singing Kumbaya, My Lord," Jordanna snorted as the words left her mouth. "It's trippy as fuck, sometimes we even wear those creepy animal head things."
"Uh . . ."
"Anyway," Jordanna clapped all of a sudden. "You've burnt your marshmallow again, Bex."
Rebekah blinked her eyes, bringing her burnt marshmallow out of the fire. Pouting as she saw the black surrounding it, "is this supposed to be fun? I've been through ten of these."
"No, you're just looking at it all wrong, this is a little rough on the outside," Damon told her, peeling off the burnt outside of the marshmallow, placing the soft part in her mouth. "But the inside... yum."
"Ew."
Damon and Rebekah both ignored the girl as they continued to stare into one another's eyes, "can't believe you've never had one of these before."
"Well, I've been in a casket for ninety years," the original dryly told him.
"That's no excuse," Damon replied playfully.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" Rebekah narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "You hate me. You should be mean."
"Well, I could be mean, if that's what you're into," Damon flirted, earning a gag from, the slightly drunk, Jordanna.
Rebekah scoffed, pulling herself and Jordanna up, "you're distracting me, why?"
Damon looked at Jordanna for help who simply shrugged, ignoring his pleading expression. "Just trying to be a good housemate."
Rebekah saw through his lies and leant down to whisper in the Salvatore's ear, "there's never a fair fight between us, Damon. Remember that."
"Come on J, we're leaving," Rebekah said after stabbing Damon in the torso with stick she picked up off the floor.
"Have I mentioned how hot you are, Bex?" Jordanna spoke with a grin as she looked back at the Salvatore, who grunted in pain—pulling the stick from his body.
✧
Rebekah had sped them both to Jordanna's house, climbing into the witch's bed after The Original had helped the girl take off her makeup and tried to sober her up.
They talked for a bit, Jordanna had warned Rebekah to be careful around the, 'Scooby Gang', as she informed The Original of their plans. They had talked for a bit longer until drowsiness fell upon the witch and she felt her eyes drop.
"Night Bex," Jordanna smiled gingerly at her friend.
"Goodnight J," Rebekah sent her a warm smile.
