soulmates or what?

━✧━

JORDANNA SHUT HER eyes and ignored the pain in her abdomen as she and Klaus made their way into the Lockwood residence where Tyler, Hayley and their hybrid friend, Chris, were drinking.

"You're still going?" Tyler questioned, raising his eyebrows as he glanced at the duo. "I drank enough last night and then I slept, which is what you guys should've done."

Chris raised his shot glass with a shrug, "we're just paying our respects to Dean."

Tyler cocked his head aside as he looked over at them, "that's great, Chris. But could you pay them at a bar instead?"

"Don't be mad," Hayley drawled with a smirk as she stood, shot glass in her hand. "We're celebrating our fallen hybrid friend." The brunette stopped in front of the Lockwood boy, sensually pouring her shot into his mouth, wiping at his bottom lip as she caught some of the fallen tequila with her thumb before sticking it in her mouth.

"Well don't let us interrupt," Klaus teased as he and Jordanna waltzed into the room, the Jones witches eyes glaring into Hayley's skull at her actions.

"I didn't know you were here," Tyler spoke with a frown as he turned to the two.

"Clearly," Klaus remarked. "We just popped round to celebrate Dean's successful retrieval of the vampire hunter. Yet, when we arrived, I learnt not only was Dean unsuccessful, but that Elena had killed the hunter," the original stated with a sarcastic smile as he brought a whiskey bottle to his lips.

"Well, maybe if you had Dean use force on Connor instead of sending him on a suicide mission," Hayley snapped, glaring at the hybrid.

"Mind your business, Hales," Jordanna warned, sending the wolf a pointed look.

Klaus chuckled as Hayley huffed in defeat. "What do you care if Connor's dead, anyway?" Tyler questioned.

"I have my reasons. They've ceased to matter. Cheers," Klaus raised his bottle before taking a long sip.

Jordanna sauntered across the room, passing Hayley as she made her way over to the hybrid with sceptical eyes. The witch stopped besides the werewolf, leaning down to her ear, Hayley gulped deeply as the witch's breath fanned her cheek, "you told me jack-shit happened between you and Tyler."

Hayley shook her head slightly, "because nothing did, Jords ━"

Jordanna rolled her eyes, "doesn't seem like that to me. I'm gonna say this once, okay? I swear to fucking god, Hayley, you try anything with him while he's with Caroline and you wont have a fucking leg to stand on."

Jordanna could feel Hayley's chest heaving up and down besides her as she nodded lightly, the witch pursed her lips and made her way over to Klaus.

Klaus slung his arm over her shoulder, holding out the bottle of whiskey to her. Jordanna shook her head with a frown, pushing the bottle away. Klaus looked down at her curiously before bushing it off just as Caroline came storming into the Lockwood residence with a box of stuff in her arms.

"I brought your stuff. Old laptop, your jersey, the charm bracelet," Caroline rushed out, looking down at the box as she refused to meet Tyler's eyes.

"Care, now isn't a good time," Tyler frowned earning a scowl from the blonde and an eye roll from Jordanna.

"Just take it," Caroline snapped, shoving the box into the hybrid's arms.

Klaus followed after Jordanna as she made her way over to her best friend, Caroline looked up at the witch through teary eyes as she pulled her into a hug.

"He's an ass, alright? Say the word and I'll kill him," Jordanna offered as the two pulled apart.

Caroline choked out a laugh, "I'll let you know."

Jordanna chuckled placing a quick kiss on her cheek before turning to Klaus.

"Alright, come on, let's go," the hybrid ordered the others. "Lets leave them alone. Your talents are needed elsewhere."

"For what?" Tyler frowned.

Klaus smirked, gesturing to Hayley and Caroline, "I think you've got more important things to deal with, mate."

"Don't kill each other," Jordanna yelled to the werewolf and vampire as she and Klaus slipped out the door. "Or do. Preferably Tyler."

"I don't want to talk about it," Stefan spoke through the phone as Klaus and Jordanna strolled through the neighbourhood hand in hand.

"Well, I can't imagine why, what with you ruining all my plans for a hybrid filled future," Klaus replied, Jordanna rolled her eyes at his words.

"Well it wouldn't have happened, if you hadn't sworn me to secrecy," Stefan retorted.

"Well, life's full of 'if's', Stefan. But let's accentuate the positives, shall we? The hunter was one of The Five; we'll find another. It may take centuries, but we've got nothing but time, right?" Klaus voiced, gripping tightly onto Jordanna's hand as thoughts plagued his mind. He was a vampire, she was a witch ━ the most she could do was slow the aging down but nevertheless she'd eventually still grow old and he'd remain young.

Just the thought of it made him sick to his stomach.

"You're using your calm voice today. Who's getting killed?" Stefan remarked, suddenly becoming tense. Jordanna snorted ━ how cute, Stefan knew what mood Klaus was in just by talking.

Soulmates or what?

"Not you, if that's what you're worried about. But I am concerned about your beloved. Have the hallucinations started yet?" Klaus mocked with a large smirk.

"What do you know about that?" Stefan questioned.

"I'll tell you. Where are you?" Klaus inquired as he and Jordanna neared the Gilbert house.

"I'm at her house," Stefan replied with furrowed brows.

"How convenient, so am I," Klaus smiled, hanging up the phone before he knocked on the door.

Stefan opened the door, his eyes flickered between Klaus and Jordanna who both held wide grins on their faces. The youngest Salvatore returned the smile to the witch before he sauntered past the pair, walking further into the garden.

"You know, this would all be a lot more civilised if I was just invited inside," Klaus remarked.

Stefan scoffed, "it's bad enough I'm out here talking to you. What do you know?"

"Nikky killed the original five hunters, remember?" Jordanna rolled her eyes.

"When one kills a hunter, there's a bit of a consequence," Klaus revealed.

"What kind of consequence?"

"The hunters were spelled by witches to kill vampires; if you prevent one from fulfilling his destiny then he'll take you down with him," Klaus explained to the vampire as Jordanna took a seat on the front steps of the Gilbert house.

"What do you mean? Connor's dead," Stefan furrowed his brows in confusion.

Jordanna rolled her eyes, "he means Connor's death will haunt Elena to the point of suicide ━ therefore making her his last vampire kill."

Klaus nodded, "she'll need to come with us now. I'll lock her up, keep her away from any sharp wooden objects."

Stefan scoffed, "she's not going anywhere with you two. Jordanna will hurt Elena if she speaks to her."

Jordanna gasped dramatically, "you think so low of me, Steffy? Ouch."

"If we leave her here, Stefan, she'll take her own life before the sun goes down."

"But if you're going to be difficult I could always drag her out by her hair, Stefano," Jordanna rose from her place on the steps, making her way to the two men. "You know I will."

Stefan shook his head, "she won't do it. She's stronger than that."

"Is she?" Klaus challenged. "Believe me, it's for her own good."

Before Stefan had the chance to reply the front door opened, capturing the trios attention. "Elena!" Damon yelled as the doppelganger ran out the house, stopping abruptly as she caught sight of Stefan, Klaus and Jordanna. Klaus gripped onto Jordanna's waist before latching onto the brunette's arm, rushing the two girls away from the house, giving Stefan and Damon no time to react.

Chris, one of Klaus' hybrids, opened the door to the room ━ or dungeon, where Elena was going to be held. Jordanna chirpily followed after Klaus with a struggling doppelganger in her grasp.

"Let go of me," Elena sneered.

"My pleasure," Jordanna smirked, roughly shoving the brunette further into the room.

"I apologise for the lack of windows, it's to preserve the art, and of course, to prevent you from taking off your daylight ring and burning yourself to death in the sun," Klaus smiled as he waved his hand across one of the paintings.

"I'm not gonna kill myself, I would never do that," Elena rolled her eyes, denying it.

"Oh, but you'll want to," Klaus told her firmly. "I did, problem is, I'm immortal."

Jordanna's eyes snapped to his in shock, he never told her this part.

"You went through this?" Elena asked quietly, curiosity getting the better of her.

"Yes, I did," Klaus nodded. "For fifty-two years, four months and nine days. I was tormented, in my dreams, my every waking moment, relentless, never-ending torture. It was the only period of my life when I actually felt time."

Elena watched him in confusion, "so, you knew this would happen if Connor died? That's why you got involved. Did Stefan know too?"

"All he knew was that the hunter had to be kept alive," Klaus informed her.

"What else does Stefan know?" Elena demanded earning an eyeroll from the witch.

"Stop talking," Jordanna mumbled, she knew that Elena was pissed at Stefan for being secretive but what the doppelganger didn't realise was this was all for her, as fucking always. "You have no fucking right to be angry with Stefan for not telling you anything, as much as I hate it, he's doing this for you, okay? So shut up, and try not to kill yourself ━ or do, I couldn't really care less."

Klaus pursed his lips, amusement flashing through his eyes as he began to stir the witch out the room when Elena spoke up. "How did you make it stop?"

"I didn't," The Original admitted. "Eventually it just stopped. The hallucinations tend to appear in strange forms," a smirk laced his lips as he knocked on the door, Chris opening it not a second later. "Don't say I didn't warn you."

"I hope you have a shitty time at casa Mikaelson," Jordanna winked as Klaus pulled her out the room.

Elena glared at the hybrid as he placed a duffel bag on the bed. "Clothes, toothbrush," Christ listed off as he placed the items on the bed. "Klaus said you're gonna be here until he figures out where to put you."

"Just . . . please go away," Elena rubbed at her temples in agitation, her mind messing with her as she saw the hunter, Connor, instead of the hybrid.

Chris looked at the girl weirdly before making his exit.

"I can't," the hallucination of the dead vampire hunter taunted. "I'm going to be with you forever, a constant reminder of what you've become. So, tell me, how did it feel to drain the life out of me?"

"It was horrible," Elena sighed, guilt eating at her as she shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "It was the worst thing that I've ever done."

"You're lying," Connor gritted his teeth.

"No. I'm not," Elena shook her head, looking away from the tall man.

"Yes, you are. Tell the truth," he spat, glaring at her.

"I am telling the truth," she denied.

      "You're lying."

"Fine!" Elena jumped up from her seat, striding over to the hunter dramatically. "I liked it. I loved the taste of your blood. Are you happy?"

"Did she seriously just ask if you're happy?" A familiar voice snorted from behind her. Elena spun around on her heels hastily, gasping as her eyes fell upon a smirking Jordanna.

       "Jordanna?" Elena frowned, gulping.

Hallucination Jordanna winked as she sauntered across the room, heading to Connor. The witch linked her arm in his as she obnoxiously popped her gum, looking the doppelganger up and down in distaste.

Connor huffed at Jordanna's remark. "I'm not happy, Elena. I'm dead. Did you know I had a family? A brother, parents."

"And you took him away from them, Elena," Jordanna taunted her. "You killed him."

"I'm sorry. I'm ━ I'm really sorry," Elena trembled, guilt eating at her.

"Are you sorry about your parents? It's your fault they died," Connor deadpanned, sharing a look with the smirking witch.

      "Don't," Elena shook her head.

"Ooh," Jordanna whistled, the corners of her eyes crinkled in amusement. "I think you struck a nerve, honey."

"They ran off Wickery Bridge with you in the car, but they weren't supposed to be there, were they? They died because of you," Connor sneered, coldly. "And I'm not going to stop until you've taken your last, miserable breath."

      "Amen to that," Jordanna grinned.

"I'm not going to let you do this to me."

Jordanna and Connor's laughs echoed through her mind, the sound rang through her ears painfully as she rubbed at her temples yet again. Go away. Leave me alone. But nothing happened, the sick taunting continued. "Then get rid of us, kill yourself. You never wanted to be a vampire in the first place, now look at what you've become. You're a monster, you deserve to die."

Elena turned away from them, her dainty hands enclosed her ears as she tried to block out the sound of their voices. Please. She prayed and prayed that they would just disappear into thin air.

"You don't want to listen to me? Fine."

Elena hesitantly turned as the room grew into an uncomfortable silence, her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets at the person who stood in Connor's place ━ still arm in arm with the witch.

"Then how about us three have a little chat?" The older brunette grinned, tilting her head maliciously.

"Katherine?" Elena gasped with wide eyes.

"Did you miss me?" Katherine smirked in amusement.

"Well I certainly did," Jordanna grinned at the vampire, who returned the mischievous smile. "This is going to be so much fun!"

Fake Katherine, or ( hallucination ) Katherine, whatever you wanted to call her, circled the brunette. Elena sat in a chair that was placed in the middle of the room sobbing. Jordanna had her hands rested on the back of the chair as she whispered menacing taunts into her ear.

"Do you ever stop crying?" Katherine groaned with an eyeroll before looking at the smiling witch behind her doppelganger. "Does she ever stop crying?"

"God, no," Jordanna mumbled before leaning forward, her breath hitting the side of Elena's face making her tremble. "Poor Elena, always the victim. But no, you're a killer now, huh? How's it feel? Fun right. . . ?"

Katherine turned to the crying girl, "what does Stefan think of the new you?"

"Bet he hates it, doesn't he?" Jordanna whispered. "I feel bad for the poor boy, being stuck with the likes of you. It's pathetic."

      "Shut up!" Elena snapped.

"Don't be silly, 'Lena," Jordanna chuckled, her hands sliding down to grip the brunette's shoulders harshly. God, it felt so real. The doppelganger shook tremendously as the Jones' nails dug into her skin, leaving crescent shaped indents carved on her shoulder. "This is only the beginning."

Katherine soon joined in with the taunting laughter. Elena just wanted it to stop. "The girl he fell in love with is gone, you know. You're like me now, maybe worse."

"I made a mistake, I can do better," Elena shook her head ferociously.

"Wrong," Jordanna tilted her head. "You're a vampire, a shitty one, I mean seriously I could do better, but still. You'll kill again, you're bloodthirsty, Elena. You won't stop until that pit in the bottom of you're stomach goes, not until you experience that euphoric feeling as you feel the last breath being taken. . ."

"She's right, you'll kill again. It'll change you and it'll keep changing you until you're just like me," Katherine added.

"Hm," Jordanna nodded. "Maybe you'll be worse, I mean look at the direction you're already going in ━ Stefan, Damon, Stefan, Damon. . ." The witch trailed off. "Who are we on right now?"

"Stefan," Katherine clarified, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth in amusement. "And when he knew the real me, he hated me. Now he's gonna hate you too."

"Don't worry, 'Lena." Hallucination Jordanna's hand reached and dragged the brunette's hair to one side, running her finger over her jugular. "You'll still have Damon, that's all that matters, right?"

"Shut up!" Elena jumped from her seat, turning around in fury to attack the witch only to land on the bed. Elena cautiously looked around. They left. Her voice cracked as she broke down in sobs again, placing her hands atop her head in frustration.

the mystic grill ( real ) jordanna's location

Klaus sat at the small table besides the dart board as he watched Jordanna squeal, the witch turning around with a beaming grin on her lips as she faced him. "I win again," she smirked. "What's my prize?"

        "Technically, sweetheart, you didn't win━"

Jordanna raised her eyebrows, staring at him challengingly.

       "Drink?" The hybrid offered sheepishly.

"Ew, no," Jordanna shook her head. The thought of alcohol made her sick to her stomach.

Klaus frowned but shrugged it off, downing his own glass before wrapping his arm around her waist, pulling her between his legs.

Jordanna's lip upturned as she watched his eyes dart over her face as if he was trying to remember all the features. Her eyes, nose, lips ━ she noticed he did this a lot. He'd just sit and stare at her, it worried her slightly because she never knew what he was thinking, she couldn't read him. She didn't know if the thoughts that clouded his mind were good or bad. Obviously, she had hoped for good but unfortunately you could never tell with Klaus.

She sighed as his free hand ran over her knuckles, his eyes fell onto her arm ━ raising an eyebrow at the collection of bracelets around her wrist. Three little dainty bracelets from Caroline and one from Stefan ━ yes, the one he had gotten her for her birthday whilst he had no humanity.

Klaus didn't like the thought of other men's jewellery sat on her body, albeit it was only Stefan, but he didn't care. It still annoyed him. But then he remembered, Stefan wasn't hers nor was she his. Klaus was, and that brought a smile to his face.

It was like a burden, his shift in attitude. It didn't come naturally. It was work. Fighting the urge to tear out a man or woman's throat anytime they spared a glance in Jordanna's direction was like fighting the urge to dagger his siblings every time they did the most miniscule thing. It was hard, and rarely done.

She didn't ask him to change, he realised. She didn't care if he spilt a little bit of blood, although he knew she found it ridiculous if he killed someone over the smallest of things. But still, she didn't once ask him to change; she liked him the rotten way he was. She hadn't asked anything of him, but nonetheless he had this gnawing desire to keep her happy.

Jordanna's brows furrowed as he looked back up at her, she opened her mouth to question his strange mood but was silenced with a kiss. Jordanna let out a noise of surprise but nevertheless kissed him back. Her arms slipping from his grip and over the back of his neck. Klaus deepening the kiss as his tongue entered her mouth, tightly gripping her hips.

   "Ew."

Jordanna rolled her eyes as she turned to face her best friend. "Was that necessary? I don't interrupt you and Lockwood."

"Because me and Tyler don't get it on in public!"

"That's a bit melodramatic, Care," Jordanna said as she leant into Klaus. "What's up?"

Caroline pursed her lips as she shrugged her jacket off, taking the spare seat by the table as she leant forward on her forearms. "So, Stefan called me and apparently Damon, Tyler and Matt, you know ━ the 'Elena protection squad', are trying to free her from Klaus' freaky dungeon thing."

Jordanna groaned. "Fuck me gently with a chainsaw. Of course they are."

"Yeah, so, Stefan told me to warn you. I did, so . . . here I am?"

"Yes, here you are," Klaus grimaced, a sarcastic smile on his lips as he raised his glass. "And we are so delighted by your company Caroline."

Caroline rolled her eyes, "Jordanna, your boyfriend's an ass."

Hallucination Jordanna twirled a piece of her hair around her manicured finger as she listened to the older doppelganger taunt the younger one. "You were always such a good girl when you were human. Always willing to sacrifice yourself for your friends . . . except, weren't they usually the ones that ended up getting hurt?"

"I never wanted that," Elena shook her head.

"Don't you feel guilty? About all the people they've lost because of you, all the hurt they've been through? They probably hate you, I know I do. After all the shit you put me through I'll be glad to see you gone, they probably will too," Jordanna rose from her place on the bed, coming to a stop besides Katherine.

"I know I will," Katherine added. "We should throw a party or something. . ."

"Ooh, yes!" Jordanna grinned. "We should get a banner that says 'Elena Gilbert's finally dead' and a cake with her face on it . . . but she'll be like dead or whatever. That's what makes it a party."

"Yes!" Katherine exclaimed, pointing at the witch in agreement. "And a Piñata."

     "I'm not gonna kill myself!"

"Why not?" Jordanna tilted her head. "I mean, who actually wants you here?"

"Your very existence brings people nothing but pain. I mean, maybe it was worth it when you were worth it. But you're nothing now. You're a monster, Elena. You deserve to die," Katherine's eyebrow shot up, an amused glint present on her face.

Tears ran down the doppelganger's face as her mind replayed the words the two were telling her. You deserve to die. Monster. They probably hate you. The words slowly sunk in as the girl realised they were right, she killed Connor, she was a monster. Every time that her friends tried to help her, protect her . . .  it backfired and they ended up getting hurt in a way. It's the right thing to do, the only thing to do.

The door of the room opened all of a sudden. Elena looked up from her place on the floor where she had her arms wrapped round her legs ━ rocking back and forth. It's the right thing to do.

"Elena, hey." A voice spoke out, walking towards her. The doppelganger backed away as her eyes fell on the hallucination of Connor.

"No, no," she scrambled away. "Stay ━ stay away from me."

"Let me help you." Stefan raised his hands in the air in surrender.

The brunette sped over to the bed, ripping a pipe from underneath it and charged at the man. Quickly, he grabbed her by the wrist, preventing himself from harm.

         "Elena, stop!"

The teenager threw the man against the wall and rushed towards him, stabbing him in the abdomen with the pipe before speeding out of the room, leaving Stefan to fall to the ground ━ rethinking his choice of even coming to rescue the girl.

the mystic grill

Caroline stared down at her phone as it buzzed against the table, she put her drink down and diverted her eyes as she read the message she received from Stefan.

Stefan: 'I lost Elena. I need a vampire to kill. I'll  turn someone if I have to. Get an answer, fast.'

"He lost her," Caroline scoffed in disbelief.

      "What?" Jordanna frowned.

"Stefan lost Elena," Caroline told her.

"So much for your hybrids," Jordanna mumbled, looking up at Klaus. After Caroline had told the pair about the great 'save Elena plan' Klaus had called one of his hybrids for extra security or whatever. Clearly, that does fuck all and the lesson learnt today was that if you wanted something done, do it your fucking self.

"Don't blame me for their incompetence, sweetheart," Klaus rolled his eyes as the three rose from their seats ━ a perfectly good night ruined by the one and only Elena Gilbert and her squad of goons.

"They figured out how to stop the hallucinations," Caroline rushed out as she followed after the couple.

      "Spill," Jordanna demanded.

Elena stumbled down the dark streets of Mystic Falls, Katherine and Jordanna on one side of her whilst Connor resided to the other. The three continuing the taunts, the torture.

"Are you ready to die yet?" Connor questioned, glancing down at her. "You know, it's your only way out of this."

"You can't take back what you did. It can never be undone," Elena's eyes fell onto Katherine as her taunting voice hit her ears.

"They're right," Jordanna nodded. "It's the only way, Elena. You're a monster, all you do is hurt people."

The doppelganger looked away from the witch to find herself stood on the Wickery Bridge, peering over at the water.

"Maybe if we're lucky she'll fall," Jordanna whispered to the other two hallucinations who let out loud laughs, the sound piercing through her ears before she was left alone again ━ staring into the dark abyss below her.

lockwood mansion, mystic falls

"Hey, Chrissy," Jordanna smirked as she and Klaus got to the front door of the large house, Chris stood in fear as he swung the door open to be greeted with the pair.

"Going somewhere?" Klaus glared at him, gripping the man by the throat and throwing him into the stairs. "When I said don't let her out of your sight, what did you think I meant?"

"It's not his fault, it's mine," Tyler interrupted in panic. "I was distracting him. It's my fault she got away."

"Stop talking," Jordanna rolled her eyes as she muttered a spell under her breath, silencing the boy and preventing her ears from listening to the painful sound that is Tyler Lockwood's voice.

"Then maybe you should be the one to die for it," Klaus gritted his teeth.

"No one has to die," Hayley spoke up.

"Hayley," Jordanna warned, sending her a pointed look. The last thing she needed was Klaus killing the werewolf because she didn't know when to keep her damn mouth shut ━ despite Jordanna's disagreement with her they were still friends.

"Did I not say mind your business?" Klaus yelled at her as he sped towards her.

"Tyler's covering for me. I'm the one that let her go," Hayley scowled defensively.

Jordanna licked her lips, anxiety practically seeping out of her as her eyes darted between them. Think, Jordanna, think. She couldn't let Hayley die, not after everything that she'd done for her. She was growing scared for the Marshall woman as she could see the anger in Klaus building up by the second. Protection spell, idiot. She inwardly rolled her eyes, duh.

"Shut up," Jordanna snapped as she finished her protection spell. "You didn't do it, okay? Stop talking and mind your business, Hales."

"No," Hayley shook her head, not meeting the witch's eye. "You want someone dead, go ahead. Kill me. I'd rather die anyway than end up as one of your sired little bitches."

"Oh, Jesus fuck," Jordanna groaned. She needed a drink, a large one and a cigarette after the day she'd had.

"Don't tempt me," Klaus sneered before turning to Chris. "Your existence is to serve me. To please me. Do you understand?"

Jordanna raised a brow at his wording, to please me, seriously?

Chris nodded frantically, "I'm sorry. I won't fail you again."

"No you won't," Klaus moved aside. "Get out of here."

Chris made his way to the front door, opening it only to be stabbed in the chest with a stake by Stefan. The newly turned hybrid groaned, falling to the floor in pain.

     "No!" Hayley cried out.

"I'm sorry," Stefan told Tyler noticing the pained look on his face as he and Jeremy entered the house ━ the younger boy holding a large cleaver in hand.

The Salvatore gave the Gilbert a nod. The boy lifted the cleaver before slamming it down, chopping Chris' head off. A scream erupted from Hayley's lips, the witch put a hand on the werewolf's shoulder in comfort as her face scrunched up in disgust.

       Gross.
