chapter thirty five
secret lover?
━✧━
"SHE WHAT?" JORDANNA exclaimed down the phone as she laid in Klaus' bed, the dirty blond having his head rested on her chest whilst she ran her fingers through his hair.
"I know right," Caroline breathed out in shock at the other end of the phone.
"How do you know?" The witch asked.
"I told her," Bonnie chimed in. "Me and Elena had a girls night and she told me."
"Shittt," Jordanna whistled. "How'd Stef take it?"
"I'm fine," the Salvatore spoke gruffly, butting into the conversation. "She slept with Damon, nothing much I can do about it really."
"Do you want me to kill her?" Jordanna grinned at the thought. "Cause, I mean, I'll totally enjoy doing that-"
"Jordanna!" Bonnie scolded.
"Sorry Bon, but she hurt Stefano, and as his best friend I simply can't allow that, can I?" She teased.
Stefan chuckled from besides Caroline, sat in the Forbes residence, "I'll be fine, you don't need to kill her or anything."
Jordanna frowned, "can't I hurt her a little?"
"Yeah, maybe if we hit her hard enough it'll knock some sense into her brain," Caroline added.
"Uh ━ no," Stefan rolled his eyes, shooting Caroline a stern look. "Don't hurt her, don't talk to her, just leave it."
Jordanna grumbled under her breath in annoyance, looking down at the sleeping Original laid on her chest, she smiled in content.
"Jordanna?" Stefan questioned after a moment of silence. "Alright?"
"No," Jordanna told him with a huff. "If I see her I'll hurt her. Same goes for Tyler, once I get my hands on that mutt-"
"Okayy," Bonnie cut her off. "Let's stop before she goes into details, which I probably don't wanna hear while I'm eating."
"Yeah, I don't wanna' hear that this early in the morning." Caroline and Stefan grimaced.
"Whatever," Jordanna shrugged. "Hey ━ are you all going to Carol's memorial thing?"
"Yeah, I have to be there, with my dad becoming the new mayor and everything, I have no choice," Bonnie sighed.
"Nope, not me, I plan on drowning my sorrows. Wanna join?" Stefan asked.
"No can do, Steffy," Jordanna tutted. "A special someone's coming to town and I plan on making peoples lives miserable with him."
"Who?" Stefan frowned.
"Ah, it's a surprise," the witch grinned.
"Secret lover?" Caroline teased.
"Yes, you got me. It's my secret lover," the witch stated sarcastically.
"No, seriously, who is it?" Bonnie chuckled.
"Like I said Bon-Bon, it's a surprise," Jordanna beamed.
"Uh-"
"Can't talk, I gotta' go," Jordanna told them as Klaus stirred awake. "I'll see you at the memorial."
"Wait, you're going to that?" Caroline questioned with a frown.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world," the witch smirked before she hung up.
"Hey," she whispered softly as the original woke, he shuffled besides her on the bed.
"Morning," he grumbled, his voice raspy from having just woken up.
"How are you feeling?" Jordanna asked him.
"Sod off," Klaus mumbled in annoyance, his eyes rolled as he shifted them from her face. "I don't need you babying me, I'm fine."
The witch rolled her eyes in annoyance, dropping the gentle tone from her voice, "I'm not babying you, asshole, I asked how you feel."
"How do you feel?" The hybrid retaliated.
"Seriously?" Jordanna pulled a face at his behaviour. A whole man-child, fucking hell. "Forget I asked."
"I'm fine," the original told her bluntly, turning to face the witch. He sent her a strained smile, his finger tracing patterns on the bare skin of her stomach where her t-shirt rode up.
Although, she knew he had just lied to her, she left it, it was clear to her that he had no intention whatsoever talking about his feelings, "I'm going to Carol's memorial thing, I'm meeting Kol there."
"Kol?" Klaus frowned, looking down at her as he pulled her to his chest. "Why are you meeting him?"
"Because, Nik, my favourite Mikaelson brother is coming back to town and your sister has something planned at the school," Jordanna told him with a grin, shifting upwards so she faced him.
"Your favourite Mikaelson, hm?" Klaus smirked as he climbed on top of her, his hands besides her head, holding his body up.
"That is what I just said, yeah," Jordanna teased before she pushed the hybrid off of her. "None of that, I have to go get ready."
"Or you could stay?" Klaus offered, dragging his hand up her thigh.
Jordanna rolled her eyes, "no. Can't keep your brother waiting, can I?"
"Careful sweetheart, you're beginning to sound awfully like a certain doppelganger," Klaus smirked as she gaped at him in shock.
"Asshole!" The witch smacked his hand off of her. Climbing off the bed, she made her way to the bathroom, scoffing dramatically as she did.
"Do you want company, my love?" Klaus called as he heard the shower water running.
"Fuck yourself," Jordanna shouted, stepping into the shower.
Klaus huffed, throwing his body back down into the comfort of his pillows and silk bed sheets.
✧
Jordanna aimlessly wandered around the school's empty hallways, the dull lights shining down on her as she boredly sucked on a lollipop. A sigh left her lips as she turned on her heels ━ her manicured nails drummed against the bannister as she made her way upstairs. A groan of irritation left her pink, glossed lips as she headed down the corridor.
Kol was late.
Expected, of course, but still, it left her bored with nothing to do.
So, when she heard an odd commotion coming from the library she sauntered down there. Her hair twizzled between her fingers as she curiously popped her head through the wooden doors. An amused smile pulled at her lips as she noticed Stefan, Caroline and Elena all sat around a table whilst Rebekah intimidatingly circled them.
"Rebekah, baby," Jordanna announced her presence as she stepped further into the room, making her way towards the four. "What are you doing?"
"Jordanna!" Rebekah beamed, stepping away from the table she pulled the witch into a hug ━ they hadn't seen one another since the night she got daggered, other than a couple of phone calls the girls had not spoken. "Did you miss me?"
"Duh. It was really boring while you were deadish," Jordanna shrugged, pulling away from the Mikaelson.
"You mean besides you and Nik slaughtering his hybrids?" Rebekah raised a single brow.
"Uh ━ yeah, besides that," Jordanna smiled sheepishly before looking over at the table of three. "Do I get an explanation or what? Did I just walk into a foursome or something?"
Rebekah scoffed playfully, "it's just a little fun, Jords. You remember how to have fun, don't you?"
Jordanna scowled, "the fuck you talking about? I am fun."
"Really?" Rebekah raised a brow in slight disagreement, as she watched the witch near the doppelganger.
"Yes, really," Jordanna rolled her eyes, hands going to the back of Elena's chair making the brunette squirm. A smirk tugged at her lips as she leant forward, her hair brushing the doppelganger's shoulder as she swiftly grabbed a pencil that had been laid out on the table.
The witch ran her tongue across her teeth, a malicious smile evident on her face as she drove the sharp end of the pencil into the brunette's neck. A pained cry left Elena's lips as her hand reached out to her bloodied neck, only to be stopped by Jordanna who grabbed her hand and snapped it backwards. "That was for hurting my best friend," Jordanna whispered in the brunette's ear, before the witch pushed Elena's hair off her shoulder.
Caroline and Stefan grimaced at the loud sound of Elena's bones breaking. While Rebekah had a smile larger than a Cheshire cat's on her lips. The witch turned to face the blonde Mikaelson with a grin, "told you I'm fun, Bekah."
"Jordanna! Let go of me," Elena cried as the witch's grip on her broken hand tightened.
"Oh! I'm sorry," Jordanna held a hand to her heart, a saddened look on her face. "Am I hurting you?"
"Y-yes," the vampire managed out.
Jordanna sent her a deadpanned look, "shame." The witch pulled the crimson red pencil from Elena's neck before driving it through her temple. Jordanna cringed at the loud cry Elena let out, the vampire spun in anger, grasping the pencil from her head before throwing it in Jordanna's direction.
"Ooh!" Jordanna whistled, sharing an amused look with Rebekah as she held her hand up ━ stopping the pencil from damaging her beautifully constructed face. "I think she's mad."
"You don't say," Rebekah chuckled before turning her gaze back to the brunette. "Sit down."
Elena gulped, complying with the blonde's wishes.
Not like she had much of a choice.
Rebekah pulled a face of satisfaction. "Take a seat, J. I have a feeling this might be of interest to you."
"O-kay, then," Jordanna mumbled, taking a seat between Stefan and Caroline. The witch sluggishly perched her legs up on the table, sending a lazy smile to the Salvatore as he gave her a look as her stilettos sat near his face.
The witch popped her lollipop back in her mouth as Rebekah circled the table, "class is in session ━ you've all been compelled, minus Jordanna, that is. You know the rules, answer my questions truthfully, no disobedience, no one leaves."
Jordanna raised her hand with a cheeky smile. Rebekah raised her brows in amusement, "yes, Jords?"
"Could I get a water ━ maybe some food or something?" The witch grinned, pulling her legs from the table as she placed her bloodied hands under her chin.
"No," Rebekah shook her head.
Jordanna rolled her eyes, leaning towards the Forbes vampire sat next to her, "you got any water?"
Caroline chuckled, reaching down into her bag she pulled out a bottle of water.
Jordanna groaned, "my saviour!"
"Anyway!" Rebekah steered the attention back to her. "April my sweet, take notes ━"
"April?" Jordanna frowned, turning to her left she found the teenage girl awkwardly stood, arms wrapped around her body anxiously.
When the fuck did she get here?
Oh well.
"Jordanna!" Rebekah snapped.
"Sorry," the witch mumbled, turning to Stefan as she gave Rebekah a side eye.
"Let's start with a little quiz, in the year 1114, my brother learnt, thanks to yours truly, about the brotherhood of vampire hunters with tattoos that grew with each kill. These tattoos revealed what, Elena?"
Elena sat and said nothing, ignoring the glare the witch was sending her. The brunette bit her tongue as the end of Jordanna's heel harshly kicked her shin, "it's rude to ignore people, where are your manners, Elena?"
"A map," Elena answered in agitation.
"Which led to? Caroline?" The older blonde looked towards the youngest.
"A cure for vampirism," the blonde answered with a sigh, leaning back in her chair in boredom.
"Perfect. So we're all caught up. Stefan Salvatore, the last time we saw each other, you had a vampire hunter, but in order to decode the map, you needed the location of the hunter's sword, which you got out of me by using some very dirty tricks. Assuming you found the sword, you also found the cure, yet you're all still vampires. Which means something's wrong." Rebekah stopped, abruptly turning to the awkward teen in the corner, who stood scribbling something down onto a piece of paper. "What are you doing?"
April frowned, looking up at Rebekah, "oh, you asked me to take notes."
"I wasn't being literal, darling. But now you mention it . . . a flow chart would be nice. Which means index cards and push pins. Go fetch," Rebekah waved the girl off, April ran out the room ━ following the blonde's commands.
"I didn't know April was a dog," Jordanna snorted.
"Quiet," the blonde silenced her.
"You're wasting your time, we don't know anything," Stefan rolled his eyes in annoyance.
Rebekah turned to look at Jordanna ━ clearly searching for an answer.
"Don't look at me, I don't know shit. I'm not a vampire, I couldn't give two fucks about the cure," Jordanna shrugged, glancing up at the blonde.
"What? So you just gave up?" Rebekah questioned, glancing at the Salvatore. "I thought you would do anything to save Elena? Even if it meant taking the cure yourself, so you could grow old and die with her?"
Jordanna snorted as Elena looked at Stefan in shock who just ignored her gaze and let his eyes fall onto the Forbes. "That sounds really sweet, Stef. Real cute."
"Shut up JJ."
"Why do you look so surprised?" Rebekah quirked a brow in the doppelganger's direction upon seeing her face.
Silence.
And a very fucking awkward one.
Until Jordanna broke it with a loud amused chuckle, "I'm sorry. This is just . . . "
"I'm missing something, what is it?" Rebekah grew closer to the group, her hands coming down onto the table besides Jordanna as she leant forward in anticipation.
"They broke up, okay," Caroline snapped in annoyance, the silence and stolen looks becoming too much for her.
Rebekah smiled at the information.
"Now let us go," Caroline added.
"Hush now, I'm not going to hurt you darling," Rebekah smiled at the blonde. "Jordanna would rip me apart."
Jordanna winked, clicking her fingers in the blonde's direction.
"Broke up?" The original mused in a daze. "Wait, I'm confused. Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because this is soo much better than it coming from me," the witch grinned. "Wait until you find out why."
"I thought Elena was your epic love, Stefan?" Rebekah took a seat at the table, leaning towards the vampire. "I asked you what happened. You have to tell me."
Stefan sighed deeply, "she slept with Damon."
Elena looked at Stefan in shock. How the hell did he find out? She had only told Bonnie ━ Bonnie.
"She told you?" Elena asked, betrayal evident in her voice.
"Actually, she told Caroline who told Stefan who then told me," Jordanna grinned. "I mean, wow, Elena. I'm not surprised, but wow."
Rebekah huffed, her hands falling down to her jean pockets before she pulled out a hundred dollar bill, throwing it across the table in Jordanna's direction who beamed with joy.
"You made a bet?" Stefan scoffed, looking between the two girls.
Jordanna shrugged, folding up the bill and placing it in her bra, "sorry Stef."
✧
Rebekah rose from her seat, circling the table, "so, vampire Elena is a trollop who likes bad boys, which explains why Stefan reeks of alcohol. But what it doesn't explain is why sweet, loving, innocent Elena could be so heartless towards Stefan."
"It's all an act, Bex," Jordanna managed out as she shoved a crisp in her mouth. "She's all sweet and cute, then when she has them in her trap she goes in for the kill."
"Hm," Rebekah hummed in agreement, before turning to the Salvatore. "How could she hurt you like that? Answer, please."
"She didn't know it at the time, but she was sired to Damon," Stefan mumbled.
Rebekah moved her chair between Stefan and Elena, taking a seat before she spoke, "a sire bond. That's fascinating. And what do you think about that, Elena?"
Elena turned her head, sharply glaring at the blonde, "I think that you're sad and bored and in desperate need of a hobby."
"Watch your mouth, Elena," Jordanna sang out mockingly. "Besides if anyone's desperate around here it's you. I mean, sleeping with both-"
"You're hiding something, fess up," Rebekah cut off Jordanna, leaning towards the doppelganger ━ compelling her.
"I didn't sleep with Damon because of the sire bond," Elena spoke bluntly, though Jordanna could see the small tinge of smugness hidden in her face. "I slept with Damon because I'm in love with him."
Jordanna pursed her lips as she watched Stefan's sad eyes fall onto Elena, visibly hurt by what she had said. Elena's mouth gaped open at her words whilst Caroline frowned.
"What does any of this have to do with the stupid cure?" Caroline spoke up, hoping to take the subject off of Elena and Stefan ━ for Stefan's sake.
"You're right, we got off the point," Rebekah nodded in the blonde's direction in agreement. "Stefan, how do I find the cure? Unless, you'd rather talk about Damon and Elena all day?"
"He wouldn't," Jordanna defended her best friend, as much as she loved Rebekah, Stefan didn't need the taunting about Elena ━ after all, the break up was still raw.
"There's a professor, he knows where the cure is," Stefan revealed, his voice hoarse.
Rebekah smiled, rising from her seat she gave the table a one over, "thank you. And, uh, where do I find this professor?"
Jordanna smirked cheekily, "don't worry Bex, he'll be here real soon."
✧
"I told you I don't wanna talk," Tyler answered the phone with a sigh, after seeing that it was Caroline calling.
Rebekah smirked as she and Jordanna shared a look, "I heard, and you're keeping all that rage bottled up inside. Caroline's worried sick about you."
"Rebekah?" Tyler frowned.
"Hello, Ty-Ty," Jordanna added in.
"Jordanna?" Tyler snarled. "I don't wanna talk to you."
"Awh, I'm sorry, did I do something?" Jordanna pouted.
"Well you and Nik did make a real mess of his life," Rebekah pointed out teasingly, earning a sarcastic smile from the witch.
"Actually, that was Nik, I just helped kill all his little buddies," Jordanna clicked her tongue. "Which I really want to apologise about, honestly. I can't sleep at night knowing I hurt you like that Lockwolf. In fact, why don't you come down to school, so we can talk in person?"
"And why would I do that?" Tyler questioned in annoyance.
"Because if you don't Tyler I will find you and rip your dick off, maybe you have a better chance of saving little Tyler than you did your mother. See you later Ty!"
"Oh, Anna you evil little thing!" A familiar voice spoke in amusement, poking his head into the room. "Never mess with a mans prized possession."
"Kol," Jordanna smiled, nearing the original. "Did you bring him?"
"For you? Always," he smiled cheekily, shoving Shane into the library before dragging the professor with him over to Jordanna. Wrapping his free arm around her neck he pulled her into a hug, Shane awkwardly stood besides the two. Kol pulled away, swiftly pressing a chaste kiss to her cheek, "we should have met first, Nik always gets the pretty ones."
"Fuck off," Jordanna smacked his face playfully, pushing him away from her.
"You must be Shane," Rebekah smiled, staring the professor down before nodding towards her brother who pushed Shane back out of the room. Jordanna and Rebekah following after him.
"Kol and Rebekah Mikaelson . . . two members of The Original family. This is such a trip," Shane breathed out in amazement before he turned his gaze to Jordanna. "You're a Jones witch."
"No . . . really?" Jordanna placed a hand on her heart, her mouth agape in false shock.
"Where's the cure?" Rebekah stepped forward to compel him.
"Compulsion won't work," Shane revealed. "It's a little trick I picked up in Tibet."
"Right," Rebekah sighed in annoyance. "Well, we'll just have to do this the old-fashioned way. Beat him until he tells you where to find it," she told Kol before turning to her friend. "J, you're with me."
"Why do you get the lovely Anna?" Kol narrowed his eyes.
"Because she's my friend, Kol, not yours," Rebekah grabbed Jordanna's forearm, beginning to drag her from the room before another hand tugged on her other arm, pulling her back.
What was she, a damn tug-a-rope?
"You've had her all day, Bekah, it's my turn now," Kol smirked, waving sarcastically as Rebekah stormed out of the room.
✧
"I knew you were more than just a pretty face," Kol hummed as he watched the witch turn off the tap, looking down at the sink that was full to the brim with water.
"Why thank you." Jordanna and Kol shared a smirk before he turned back to the Professor.
"Where is the cure?" The original demanded, the only response he received was silence.
With a large smile, Kol grabbed the back of Shane's neck before shoving his head into the sink, holding him down for several seconds.
"You're different," Kol commented as he glanced down at her, his head tilted in thought.
"What do you mean?" Jordanna furrowed her brows in confusion.
"You look different," he concluded.
Jordanna frowned, "do I?"
"Still as gorgeous as ever, but there's something different about you," Kol grinned before pulling Shane's head from the water.
Shane gasped for air, his flimsy hands reaching for the sides of the sink as he tried to catch his breath before Kol shoved his head under water again.
"You're acting strange," Jordanna glanced at him.
"No, I'm not," Kol denied.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say Kol Mikaelson was scared," Jordanna's eyes twinkled in amusement, she had always sorta been good at reading people, and right now ━ Kol was extremely easy to read.
"Then you don't know any better," Kol mumbled as he yanked Shane's head out of the water, just as the youngest Mikaelson entered the room.
"You're human. Why do you want it anyway?" The blonde asked, her eyes narrowed.
"That's the beauty of it, you can have it. I just want Silas," Shane smirked, Jordanna and Rebekah looked at one another in confusion as Kol grabbed the man by his shirt, forcing him to look at him.
"No! What do you know about Silas?" The original demanded, his eyes narrowed down into slits.
"He's the world's first immortal being, who just so happens to be imprisoned with the cure . . . and I want to free him," Shane revealed.
The veins under Kol's eyes appeared once again. "No!" He grasped the back of Shane's head and shoved him under the water again, ignoring the Professor's struggles.
"Stop!" Rebekah shouted at her brother.
Kol rolled his eyes as he lifted Shane's head out from the water, throwing his body aside.
"He's of no use to us dead," Rebekah scowled in his direction.
Kol narrowed his eyes at his sister, "did you not just hear what he said? Silas, will kill us all, sister."
Rebekah shook her head, "Silas does not exist. He is a fairy tale, made up to scare children into eating their vegetables."
Shane chuckled, drawing the trio's attention, "Silas is very real, I know where's he's buried, and soon I will have the spell that wakes him."
"You're lying. You can't get to him," the original began, with a smirk on his face before Shane cut him off.
"Without his tombstone? Dozens to die in a blood sacrifice? Believe me, I know. I've done it, those massacres are a pain to engineer," he stated with a sigh, leaning on the wall for balance.
"You're the one who got the council blow up," Rebekah concluded, realisation taking over her.
"And the hybrids you piece of shit," Jordanna spat. That stupid, stupid man was the reason behind Klaus' heartache.
Shane nodded, "they were . . . noble sacrifices. And temporary, because once I raise Silas, Silas will raise the dead. He will bring back every last soul who died on his behalf."
Jordanna grimaced, okay she didn't need all the dead, angry hybrids she and Klaus killed coming back, that'd be slightly inconvenient.
Kol scowled ferociously, picking up a metal pipe from the floor. "No!" He grunted before driving the pipe through Shane's abdomen.
Jordanna looked between the two siblings with pursed lips, their eyes narrowed at one another angrily . . . great, they were about to argue. And that was an argument she did not want to be in the middle of.
"O-kay," Jordanna smiled, pushing her body off of the side she was leant on. "This has been awfully fun but, I'm bored. Bye now."
Careful not to touch the blood pooling out of Shane's stomach she sauntered out of the room, patting the Mikaelson siblings on the head before the door slammed shut.
✧
"Honey, I'm home!" Jordanna chuckled as she walked through the Mikaelson mansion, bags of food filled her arms.
What? She has a big appetite, deal with it.
No answer, how lovely.
"Nik?" Jordanna called out as she placed her bags down onto a table in the hallway.
Nothing.
Fuck my life.
The witch made her way into the main room, a sigh left her lips as she caught sight of Klaus. He was sat down on the couch, a bottle of whiskey in his hand as he stared into the fire.
"Hey," Jordanna hummed softly. Taking a seat besides the hybrid who merely looked in her direction before turning his gaze back to the fire.
"You okay?" The witch asked, turning her body aside so she faced him.
"Hm," Klaus took his bottle to his lips. "I'm okay."
Jordanna frowned, taking a deep breath as she rested her head on his shoulder, her hand grabbing his own as she brought his knuckles to her lips.
"I love you," she mumbled quietly. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing she hated more than telling someone she loved them. Okay, maybe if it was Caroline, Stefan or Bonnie she could, but with Klaus it was serious. She loved him, she was in love with him and them three little words were hard enough for her to say . . . but he looked like he needed it.
Klaus' head lolled to the side, his eyes flickered over her face which was illuminated by the glow of the cracking fire. The hybrid sighed as he pressed a chaste kiss to her forehead, his eyes shut in content.
"I love you," he mumbled against her head.
