You'd be Rick

Note: Well, it finally happened. I finally made a TWD-based one shot. Is it wrong to compare the virus outbreak to zombies? Probably...but it happened lol XD

The clang of pots and pans filled the air as nurses and patients alike helped to cook in the kitchen. As horrible as this virus was, it had helped to bring everyone together. Total strangers even.

"Lucy, could you hand me that spoon?" one of the nurses, Sheila, called out to me.

I stopped what I was doing to hand her one and then resumed stirring the soup I was preparing.

1 hour later...

"Finally!" I sighed as I turned off the stove.

"Ready to get back to your boyfriend?" Sheila teased.

I just grinned and elbowed her in the ribs before untying my apron. As the nurses brought the food out to the dining area, I quietly slipped away from the crowd. My footsteps barely made a sound on the floor of the empty hallways. I smiled to myself when I finally reached my destination - the rec room. Jake and I had stumbled upon it while he was on a routine patrol around the hospital. There wasn't much here - an old TV, some couches, and a few dog-eared issues of Reader's Digest magazine.

No, the good part about this particular room was the hidden DVD stash under the coffee table in the corner. I walked over to it, bending down to reach underneath. My hand glided over the glossy DVD cases until I found the one I was looking for. A smile split my face as I held it up triumphantly. Rushing over to the DVD player, I popped it in and sat down on one of the couches.

*start song*

Suddenly, the theme song began to play and I shrieked in delight. Humming along to the song, I didn't hear the pounding of combat boots on the tiled floor.

"What is it?! What happened?! Are you okay?!" Jake asked frantically with his gun raised as he burst in.

I looked up in surprise and Jake sighed when he saw the TV screen.

"Really? The Walking Dead again? Isn't that a little...wrong to watch in a virus outbreak?" he asked, putting the gun back in its holster as he sat down beside me.

I grinned and snuggled into his side.

"Of course not! What if we all become walkers? We're going to need to know how to defend ourselves," I protested.

He gave me an incredulous look.

"Because that's so likely to happen." Jake said sarcastically.

I punched him in the arm playfully. As the show played, more walkers got killed and suddenly, a thought occurred to me.

"You'd be Rick," I said matter-of-factly.

"What?" Jake scoffed, "Why?"

"Because he was a cop before everything happened! And he also has blue eyes."

He grinned and shook his head at my logic.

"Okay, well, if I'm Rick that would make you-" he started.

I put my finger to his plump lips and arched an eyebrow.

"Don't you dare!" I warned.

He shrugged and I removed my finger. There was a moment of silence then before Jake spoke once more.

"-Lori." he smirked.

"Oh, that's it!" I smiled maliciously.

Grabbing one of the pillows on the couch, I smack him over the head with it.

"Hey!" he cried out.

I laughed as I hit him again, harder this time, and Jake rolled off of the couch. Grinning, I sat on top of him and walloped him mercilessly.

"I give! I give!" he shouted, laughing.

"Call me Michonne, Queen of the Walkers!" I said, still hitting him repeatedly with the pillow.

"You're Michonne, Queen of the Walkers!" he said.

"That's right." I grinned.

*re-play song*

Smiling, I got up off of him and sashayed out of the room as the credits rolled, re-playing the theme song...
