" How's Caroline? " Bonnie asked as she rushed over to Alia and Matt, who sat on some chairs " Oh my god, Alia, you're head? Are you okay? " Bonnie said, when she noticed the stitches in Alia's forehead.

" I'm fine, but Caroline.....she's not good Bonnie " Alia said solemnly.

" What happened? " Bonnie asked as she took a seat next to Alia.

" We were driving and Tyler heard a noise and he got....." Matt explained.

" A noise? " Bonnie questioned.

" He got like, this migraine or something and.....and he lost control of the car and I.......I thought Caroline was fine and then.....and then she wasn't, so....." Matt explained as Bonnie grabbed Alia's hand.

" Bonnie, Alia...how's Caroline? " Elena asked as she approached them " Oh my god, Alia your head? ".

" I'm fine, it's Caroline, we should worry about " Alia reassured.

" She's weak, they don't know, if she's gonna make it " Bonnie answered.

" What? Is there something that you can do? Like a spell or something? " Elena gasped.

" She's doesn't know how.......do you? " Damon said as he approached the three girls.

" No, I don't " Bonnie sighed.

" No, you don't, because it took Emily years to learn a spell like that " Damon taunted the witch.

" Yeah, well, I can take down a vampire, that spell was easy to learn " Bonnie taunted back.

" I can give Caroline some blood " Damon suggested to Alia.

" No, no way " Alia said.

" Just enough to heal her, she'll be safe in the hospital, it'll be out of her system and she'll be better " Damon reassured Alia.

" It's too risky, we can't agree to that " Elena piped in as Alia nodded in agreement.

" Do it " Bonnie said as Alia and Elena looked at her shocked " This is Caroline, okay, we can't let her die" Bonnie said as she looked at Elena and Alia before looking at Damon " Do it ".

" If I do this....you and me, call a truce? " Damon said to Bonnie.

" No.....but you do it anyway........for Alia and Elena " Bonnie smirked before walking away.

" Look I know this is the last thing you wanna do right now......but we should talk about what happened tonight " Damon said to Elena.

" Yeah, one of the tomb vampires got into the house and almost killed John " Elena said.

" What? What?..........when? What are you talking about? After I left? " Damon asked confused.

" You were there? " Elena said confused as Alia looked between the two absolutely confused.

" Come on, Elena, you know I was " Damon said.

" When were you at the house? " Elena asked.

" Really?......earlier? On the porch? We were talking, all cathartic, feelings exposed, come on, we kissed Elena " Damon said causing Alia to look at the wide eyed.

" Okay, I don't have time for this Damon " Elena scoffed before walking away.

" Hey, if you wanna forget it happened, fine...but I can't " Damon said as he grabbed her arm.

" Elena? I came as soon as I got your message......Alia, are you alright? " Jenna said as she approached the three and Damon walked away slightly.

" I'm fine, just a bump " Alia reassured for what felt like the hundredth time.

" How's John? " Jenna asked.

" Where have you been? " Elena asked.

" At the fire department, I had to fill out a report " Jenna said confused as Elena and Alia looked at her confused as well " I told you earlier, I—".

" No, you didn't " Elena said.

" Yes, I did " Jenna said.

" No, Jenna, you didn't " Elena said.

" Yes, I did " Jenna said again as she, Elena and Alia looked at each other confused.

" Oh.............mm-mm, you have got to be kidding me " Damon cursed as he had a realisation causing the girls to look at him, he then quickly walked away.

" Hey, how's Caroline? " Stefan sighed as he walked over to Elena.

" Not good " Elena said as she hugged him " Just what I needed " Elena smiled and goes to kiss Stefan but he quickly grabbed her neck and bared his fangs at her at threw her at the couch as she quickly rolled over it and faced him again.

" Katherine " Stefan hissed.

" Least, I fooled one of you " Katherine smirked.

Stefan quickly pushed Katherine against a wall.

" Feel better? " Katherine asked but Stefan just growled and slammed her against another wall, suddenly they head the sound of the door being opened and Katherine smirked before grabbing Stefan's arm and breaks it before speeding out of the house.

" Stefan " Alia and Elena said worriedly as Stefan got up from the ground.

Alia, Elena...." Stefan panted.

" What happened? " Alia asked.

" Katherine happened " Damon said.

" Did she say what she wanted " Damon asked.

" No " Stefan said.

" Woman sure knows how to make an entrance " Damon said bitterly.

" She said she fooled one of us at least.....what does that mean? " Stefan asked.

" She pretended to be Elena too, when I showed up earlier tonight " Damon replied.

" I told Jeremy, we can't lie to him anymore " Alia said as she and Elena walked into the kitchen.

" You alright? " Stefan asked Elena walking over to her as Alia walked over and stood next to Damon, who kissed her head softly begin careful of her head injury.

" No, I'm not alright, I thought that with all the tomb vampires gone things would get better " Elena exclaimed.

" I know, we all did " Stefan reassured.

" Katherine was in this house, that means she's been invited in, what are we gonna do? " Elena asked.

" Move " Damon smirked.

" Very helpful, thank you " Alia said bumping her hip against Damon's playful.

" Katherine wants you dead, there's zero you can do about it, you will be dead.....but you're not, so clearly she has other plans " Damon said.

" Right and we need to find out what those other plans are......and not provoke her in the process " Stefan said looking at Damon, who rolled his eyes " What happened tonight, when you thought she was Elena? " Stefan asked.

" To risk another frown line encroaching on a.........very crowded forehead........we.....kissed " Damon shrugged.

" And you thought it was me? " Elena snapped.

" What do you mean? You kissed? " Stefan asked bitterly.

" Well, you know, when two lips pucker and they go....." Damon said before mocking kissing sounds but quickly speed behind where Elena sat when Stefan changed at him with his vamp speed. 

" Don't be obvious, Stefan " Damon mocked. 

" Stefan, Wait, he kissed Katherine, not me " Elena said getting in the middle of the brothers " I wouldn't do that.......We don't have time for this, guys ".

" Later " Stefan snapped and Damon nodded as he made a face and Alia walked over to Damon and placed a hand on his arm conforming.

" John must know something.......there has to be a reason, why Katherine killed him " Alia said.

" She's Katherine.......she loves to play games and your fooling yourself, if you think you're gonna find what she's up to before she wants you to know " Damon snapped.

" No, actually, Alia's right....John could know something through Isobel, Elena's mother was in touch with Katherine, so maybe, we can go to the hospital and get him to talk " Stefan suggested.

" I've got a better idea " Damon suggested.

" What's that? " Elena sighed.

" I'm just gonna ignore the bitch....see ya " Damon said.

" Is that a smart idea? " Alia questioned.

" If Katherine thinks she's being ignored, it'll lure her out, she'll make a move " Damon said.

" Yeah? Then what? " Stefan asked.

" Stake her, rip her her head off....something poetic, we'll see " Damon said before walking out of the house.

Alia walked onto Caroline's hospital room and saw Bonnie and Matt standing besides the blondes bed and Alia quickly ran and hugged Caroline.

" Ohh, I love you Alia but I'm still a little sore " Caroline smiled with a slight groan.

" Sorry " Alia smiled sheepishly.

" It's fine, but they say I'm healing really quick " Caroline smiled.

" My turn " Matt said as he pulled Caroline into a kissed.

" Aww, isn't he cute? Why are you two crying? " Caroline asked.

" We're just so happy you're okay " Alia smiled with watery eyes.

" Aww, I love you guys " Caroline laughed.

" We love you two " Bonnie laughed as Caroline held the girls hands.

" Looks like the whole town turned up " Jenna said as her, Alia, Jeremy and Elena walked up to the Lockwood mansion.

" Yeah, well, he is.....was the mayor " Elena said.

" Why don't they save it for the funeral? " Jeremy asked.

" It's what people do, the Lockwood's were here for us, when we went through this, it'll be quick, we'll drop off the food, pay our respects and go " Jenna said.

" In and out sounds like a plan " Alia and Jeremy said in unison.

" You guys go ahead, I'll..uh..I'll be right there, okay " Elena said before walking up to Damon.

" I still think it's creepy, when you do that " Jenna said to the twins talking about them talking in unison as they walked away.

" You gonna be okay? " Elena asked Stefan as she helped him clean his wound. 

" Yeah, I'll heal " Stefan sighed.

" That's not what I meant " Elena said.

" I was trying to figure her out, I was playing along.....I let her get to me " Stefan said.

" Tired to track her, she's gone " Damon piped in as he and Alia walked over to them.

" Oh, cover up, Fabio, we got a crazy ex on the loose " Damon cringed jokingly as Alia pursed her lips so she wouldn't laugh.

" Better watch out, looks like Katherine's trying to steal your guy " Damon said to Elena.

" That's not what's happening? " Stefan sighed.

" Isn't it? I mean, it's only fair, since I.......went after your girl " Damon shrugged.

" I'm gonna check on Jeremy and Jenna, come on Allie " Elena said as she linked arms with Alia.

Alia walked into the house after studying at the grill and sighed, when she saw John there.

" Alia " John called.

" What are you still doing here? " Alia asked as she walked over to her uncle.

" I'm packing......leaving " John said.

" So you figured you'd kill all your evil vampires and then leave town? " Alia questioned.

" Not all, but enough.....for now " John said.

" Can you tell Elena I said goodbye? " John asked.

" Why don't you tell her yourself? " Alia questioned and turned to walk away.

" You know, Alia, I was taught to hate them.......the vampires........it's what I know, it's what your father knew " John said causing Alia to turn to him.

" My father would've of seen things differently " Alia said as she walked over to him.

" No...he may of done things differently but there's no other way to see it " John said.

" That ring on your finger, the one that's supposed protect you......that was my fathers, right? " Alia asked.

" Yeah " John sighed.

" Then why didn't it protect him? Why is he still dead? " Alia cried.

" What happened to your parents wasn't supernatural.......it was an accident, there's nothing that can save us from that " John said.

" I wonder what he'd think of all of this?.......of me? " Alia asked solemnly.

" He'd think you're still young, still finding yourself......but you are a Gilbert and you've been exposed to this towns darkest secret and with that......comes responsibility " John reassured.

" I don't believe in that family legacy bullshit " Alia sighed.

" Sooner or later.......you'll have to " John said before sliding his ring off of his finger and grabbed Alia's and and opened it before placing the ring in her hand " Here.....I want you too take this ".

" But this is your ring? " Alia said confused.

" You need it more than I do.....especially since your hanging around the Salvatore's.........take care of yourself, Alia " John said before walking out of the house and Alia took off her vervain necklace and added the Gilbert ring onto the chain before clasping it back on her neck.

Elena exits her bathroom and goes into her bedroom. Damon is sitting on her bed. She is startled by his sudden appearance.

" oh my god, you scared me " Elena said.

" just doing my part in the neighbourhood watch, thanks " Damon said.

" thanks for uhh for looking out for us, for me " Elena said.

" that's me, your trusty bodyguard. Calm in crisis " Damon said

" have you been drinking " Elena said, as Damon holds his forefinger and thumb a small distance from each other, indicating that he's been drinking. " and you're upset, that's definitely not a good combination "

" I'm not upset. Being Upset is an emotion and that would indicate that I have them and I don't " Damon said.

" come on Damon that's a lie you care " said Elena.

Damon looks up at her " you're that I thought I would kiss you back, you can't imagine I believe you would want to, that means what what we've been doing her means something, your a liar Elena there something going on between us and you know it " Damon said and he gets up and walks towards her " and you're lying to Stefan and most of all your self. I can prove it ".

" no " Elena said, before Damon quickly grabs her face and kisses her hair but also with soft and intense passion. Elena is clearly uncomfortable and doesn't want to kiss him, and Elena quickly pulls away from him " Damon don't, what's wrong with you ".

" lie about this " Damon said, as he looks like he wants to get closer and have his way with her.

" you're better than this come on " Elena said.

" that's where your wrong " Damon said before he tries to kiss her again but Elena quickly moves out the way.

" I care about you Damon, I do " Elena said and Damon smiles slightly and entwines his had with hers hoping to hear her say she loves him " but I love Stefan, it always going to be Stefan ".

" Elena, what's going on here? " Jeremy asked as Elena and Damon looked and saw Jeremy and Alia standing there after hearing some commotion. 

" Nothing, Jeremy, Alia, it's okay, jus go back to bed " Elena sighed getting away from Damon's grip.

" No, it's not okay, Elena " Damon sold before looking at Jeremy and slowly vamp speed and goes to grab Jeremy but Alia moved in front of him and Damon choked her and Damon in his grief and anger didn't realise Is was Alia " He wants to be a vampire.....you wanna shut off the pain? It's the easiest thing, the part of you that cares just goes away, all you have to do is flip the switch and snap " Damon snapped and snapped Alia's neck and she fell to the ground with a loud thud.

" Damon, no " Elena yelled rushing to Alia.

" Alia " Jeremy screamed dropping to his knees besides his sister and just like that Alia, his twin sister, his other half was gone and this grief was worse than when his parents or Vicki or even Anna died, he felt empty, like a part....a piece of himself was missing and was never going to come back.

Elena suddenly noticed the big Gilbert family ring on her neck on the chain that had that had her vervain charm on it that Damon had gotten her.

" Jeremy, Jeremy, she's wearing the Gilbert ring, she's gonna wake up " Elena cried to Jeremy, who immediately felt relief that his twin would wake up and buried his face in her chest and let out a loud cry.

" He didn't see the ring " Elena cried as she held Alia's cold body to her chest and Jeremy tightly held his twins cold hand.

" It's Katherine......she got under his skin, she undid everything that was good about him " Stefan said standing behind Elena and Jeremy as they waited for Alia to wake up.

" There was never anything good about him " Jeremy snapped.

" Not anymore, he's decided, what he wants.....he doesn't want to feel, he wants to be hated, it's just easier that way, he got his wish " Elena added she then started to cry " I hate him, Stefan ".

" I know.......I know " Stefan soothed as he kneeled besides her and rubbed her shoulders.

Suddenly Alia gasped awake and Stefan grabbed her face as Jeremy and Elena asked if she was okay and Elena knew Damon gave her blood yesterday to heal her head but she hoped she wouldn't be a vampire.

" She's fine " Stefan reassured.

" He killed me, Damon actually killed me " Alia cried as Jeremy and Elena hugged her tightly.
