Chapter 10: A blissful feeling
The hall was decorated with beige curtains, and fairy lights dangling around them. A bright white Chandelier hung in between sparking light all over the banquet. Women in their gowns and many men in their tuxedos were chattering among themselves amongst the soft glow of light.
Nora's expression was one of awe when she took in the sight of the majestic hall, "Shall we?" Tony said with a charming smile, forwarding his hand which she grasped.
Taking her hand gently in his, he exits the car, gently guiding her through the entrance with Pepper and Happy in tow.
"This place is beautiful," Nora complimented looking around. She felt a little lost due to not attending such extravagant parties, but she was ready for such a new experience.
"Not more than you though," Tony said, earning a secretive smile from her.
"Stop flattering me, it will get you nowhere,"
"We will see that,"
Pepper observed their interaction, a knowing smile on her lips. Tony's gaze lingered on Nora's face, not the usual roving glance that Pepper had grown accustomed to.
It will be the biggest relief for Pepper, if Tony finally drop his playboy's scandals because she was getting tired of covering them up.

The ballroom was bathed in soft, golden light, casting elongated shadows across the polished floor. Nora's black dress swirled around her legs as Tony led her into the heart of the room. His hand rested confidently on her waist, the heat of his touch seeping through the fabric.
The orchestra played a waltz—a timeless melody that seemed to echo through the ages. As Tony extended his hand, "Shall we, complete the bargain,"
"We shall," Nora said, slipping her hand in his.
Tony's movements were surprisingly graceful, his steps matching the rhythm effortlessly. Nora followed, her pulse racing, trying to keep up with the elegance he exuded.
Their eyes locked, and for a moment, the world outside ceased to exist. Tony's smirk softened into something more genuine, and Nora found herself smiling back. The diamond necklace nestled against her skin felt like a secret—a promise of something unexpected.
They glided across the floor, twirling, their bodies in perfect sync. Tony's fingers tightened slightly, pulling her closer. Nora's breath hitched as she caught the scent of his cologne before exhaling.
"Whoops, I was thinking I will get kicked for that," Tony murmured, with a smile.
Nora shook her head. "Consider yourself lucky, that I didn't,"
"Believe me, I am lucky, to be having you in my arms," he teased, spinning her out and then reeling her back in. His other hand held hers, their fingers entwined. The room spun around them, a blur of chandeliers and silk-clad guests.
As they turned, Nora glimpsed the envious stares from other partygoers. Girls were glaring at with such intensity like they would kill her if they got the chance.
But she didn't mind them, the truth was, she felt alive, free from her past, comfortable and for once, she wasn't pretending.
The music swelled, and Tony dipped her low, his eyes locking onto hers. Nora's heart raced. Was this part of the bargain too? The intimacy of the dance?
The diamonds at Nora's throat sparkled like stars, and Tony's gaze held a vulnerability she hadn't expected. Maybe, just maybe, this dance was more than a bargain. Perhaps it was the beginning of something extraordinary.
