Summer

I turned down the music playing throughout my house as I answered an incoming call from Myah. Myah was my assistant, Myah was also my younger cousin who just started her second undergrad year. So I had no problem trusting her and paying her as well.

"Hey Summer what are you doing?" I put my left airpod into my ear so I could finish cutting these sweet potatoes up.

"Hey Myah i'm just preparing Sunday dinner. What's going on"

"Oh my god, why didn't you tell me! I would've drove hours just to get a plate"

I laughed "Girl it is not that serious. When you come home for spring break I'll cook for you as much as you want"

"Mhmm, now that's what I'm talking about. But I just wanted to call and do our check in's. I wanted to be the first person to tell you that another offer came in for you to work as a costume designer for season 5 of Snowfall. It seems as if the last costume designer is unable to work with them for this season. Ouuu you have to take this job. I need to meet Damson Idris"

I nodded "Oh wow that sounds good. Forward me all of the information I want to take a look over everything before we give an official response. I will be sure to get back to you by tomorrow morning."

"Sounds good, I'll let you get back to cooking. I love you"

"I love you too, talk to you later" We said our goodbyes and I continued playing music throughout the house. I heard Nikole loud ass over the music "Yuurrrrr, Is dinner done I'm starving" she held her stomach being dramatic.

"Girl no it's not done yet however you can help. Wash you hands".

About an hour later Taina finally showed up with the kids. "Finally, you're here" Nikole took off her apron and gave it to Taina "It's your turn to finish the cooking. I'll watch the babies" she grabbed Emmy and Essex and then headed to Kayla's room so they could play.

Taina shook her head at Nikole and went to the kitchen sink to wash her hands. I looked at her weirdly because something just wasn't right. "Okay what's wrong T, and don't say it's nothing"

She took a deep breath and held her head up as she started to cry "I think Herb is cheating on me"

"Huhhh?" I was shocked because I really did not expect her to say that. Taina nodded her head as I grabbed her a kleenex. "Yes, I don't know Summer it's just some things aren't adding up and I haven't asked him about it because come on now most men will not admit to that. It's just frustrating but I'll be fine" I gave her a hug "It's okay we're here for you but were definitely  going to find out if it's true"

I heard the doorbell ring and I dried my hands going to go open it "I got it".

"Okay im going to go check on Nikole and the kids" Taina said.

I opened the front door and was greeted by a happy Kayla "Mommy!" I picked Kayla up hugging her tight. "I need to talk to you Summer" Markeyvius said interrupting our moment. "Hold on" I opened the door and yelled out to Nikole. She came downstairs "what's up" she smiled as she seen Kayla "Heyyy girl" she picked her up and then her smile turned into a disgusted reaction when she seen Markeyvius.

"Markeyvius" She said

"Nikole"

"You good?" Nikole looked at me and I nodded

"Yeah she good Nikole, you need to worry about yourself, Damn!" Markeyvius said and I  widened my eyes at him.

"Don't start with me Markeyvius, I'm telling you right now. You lucky Kayla right here" she said before heading back up the stairs.

I closed the front door and crossed my arms over my chest "Okay so what did you want to talk about?"

"US. Summer why you keep playing with me" he got closer to me and I stepped back. "What do you mean us? we are done" He grabbed my hand and tried to hold it but I pulled away. "Summer I would do whatever you want me to do to get you back"

"I'm in a relationship now"

When I said that his entire face change and he grabbed my arm. "Let me go" I pushed him back so he could release my arm. "Who is it that nigga Meech?"

"Why does it matter?! You need to leave right now im not playing"

He nodded and looked around "Okay Summer, I see how it is" He walked towards his car "I can promise you something though. If I can't have you then no one else can have you. Ima stand on that shit too"

I went back inside and immediately locked the door. Leaning against the door I had so many flashbacks flow through my mind. Markeyvius was always quick to change his mood and get violent. It used to scare me back then but now I was over it all.

Taina came downstairs "Is everything okay" she said now looking at my arm that was red. "Yeah I'm fine can you finish the last few touches on the dinner. I want to shower before everyone else arrives"

"Of course"

After Dinner 

My mother, Meech and Myles all joined us for dinner. Meech was released from jail soon after getting arrested a few days ago. We were now all in the living room just talking. I introduced Meech to my mom earlier today and she was so happy to meet him. Taina held a sleeping Emmy "Okay guys I'm probably going to head out so I can put them to sleep. Besides im flying out tomorrow to go see my Mom and family" I got up to give her and the kids a hug "Tell Emily to call me, I know she's been so busy lately" My mother said.

My mom gave Kayla a bath not too long before she left. I tucked her in to the bed and then looked for a book to read to her. "Hey Meeshie" she said sitting up in her bed. He smiled and came into her room and leaned against her dresser "Hey Kayla im surprised you still have any energy" Kayla played the entire time Emmy and Essex were here. But I know after I finish this story she was about to be knocked out sleep. I picked the same book she liked to listen too every night, Frozen 2. I opened the book and she interrupted me grabbing the book "Wait Mommy" she took the book over to Meech and held it up. I was shocked "Really Kayla that's how you're gonna do me?" I fake pouted and she came over giving me a hug before getting back in the bed "Okay" she said signaling that she was ready.

Meech laughed "You mad?" He said as he sat next to me.

We were only 3 minutes into the book before she was sound asleep. I looked at Meech as he handed me the book "You think you're better than me" I said as we left out of her room. He sat on the couch and pulled me onto his lap. He always smelled so good and look even better

"Im sad you can't stay tonight" I said as I traced over his tattoos with my nails. I really wanted to tell Meech about what happened earlier but I just didn't want to bother him with my drama.

"I know, Shit I wish I could stay but I got some shit to handle tonight. I promise this weekend I'll stay with you"

I got up pulling out my phone and taking a picture of him. "You look good" I showed him the picture "You gotta get the diamonds" he said as he fixed his jewelry. I took another picture and he nodded "Yea that's it"

We said our goodbyes and I locked the door heading upstairs so I could finally get some sleep. I pulled out my phone checking my notifications and the replies to my story were insane.

I loveee Key Glock so portraying his character like this was hard for me.
