Ma's House| 9:00 am

"You need to eat something Summer seriously" Ma pushed the plate of breakfast she'd just cooked closer to summer. She pushed it away from her "I'm not hungry"

In the middle of the night I got a call from Myles telling me that my sister was attacked and robbed. I immediately jumped up out of bed and rushed to her house. I drove her and Kayla to Ma's house for the night and so far everyone has been to sleep except Summer.

I reached over and took one of her pancakes off of her plate and added it to mine "I'll take that" I looked over at Kayla who was laughing at me. "Tete is funny right?" She nodded as she continued to laugh at me.

Summer pushed her chair away from the table and went upstairs without saying anything. Ma was about to follow her but I stopped her "Just let her be, you know how she is when she gets moody" She nodded and grabbed her plate joining Kayla and I at the table.

After Breakfast I went to check on Summer and she was sound asleep. Her phone started ringing and I went to look at the called ID to make sure it wasn't Meech or anyone else important. It was David, I declined the call because that's the last thing my sister needed right now was unnecessary drama.

I heard someone coming up the stairs and then seen Taina appear in the room "I tried to get here as fast as I could. Is she okay?" Taina said and I shushed her leading her to my old room. "What the hell happened? I'm so sorry I wasn't here quick enough I missed both of my flights yesterday" I smirked at her "How did you miss both flights Taina, what were you doing? Being Fast?" I laughed sitting down on the bed.

"Well I missed the first one because.. well you know. That afternoon I agreed to hangout with him before I had to leave and well we were back at it. So I ended up just getting on a private jet with him this morning" she said looking embarrassed

"You feel better now that you got your lick back?" I asked rubbing my stomach

"Ummm I just feel bad because if Herb and I don't work out I will forever have ties with him considering the kids. However It's like for so long he's shown that he didn't care about my feelings or the fact that we have a family so hmm" she shrugged.

"Was the sex good with Jayson?" I asked raising a eyebrow

"Yess it was amazing" she smiled. "Enough about me what exactly happened last night?" I filled her in on what happened last night. "Wait so she shot one of them?" I nodded "mhmm on the security camera you can see one of them get hit in the leg and the other one helped him to the car before they sped away" Taina eyes widened "Okay Summer with the good aim, because lord knows I do not know how to shoot for shit"

I nodded "I know right I called her John Wick this morning"

"You play entirely too much Nikole, it's too soon for jokes" She gave me a straight face. "I know but I wanted to lighten the mood. I'm just glad her and Kayla are okay. I know she doesn't care about the money or other things she's just in a state of shock"

Three Weeks Later

Meech~

I been lowkey with Summer every day since that night. I tried to convince her to go to LA for a while but she didn't want to leave her family especially since she was now paranoid to be alone now. Which was understandable.

"Make sure you keeping your head up" Pops said through the phone. "Yeah you know ima always do that" I said grabbing the two bags as I got out of the car. It wasn't too much I could tell him through the phone so I kept the conversation real simple for  right now. Once he got off the phone with me. I opened the door to the door to the condo we got for now. I was greeted at the door by a angry Summer.

"Demetrius, where have you been? It's damn near two in the morning and you left at what one pm?"

"Hello to you too Summer" I said walking past her. I walked into our bedroom and sat the bags down on the floor. Summer followed me in the room continuing to question where I've been. I had a gift of tuning people out and this was one of those times I put it to use, just for a second. Unzipping the bags I looked through the jewelry making sure everything I could remember was there.

She squatted down with a shocked facial expression reaching into the bag "Is this... everything they took?" I nodded "Yup Minus the money, but they won't be able to spend it anyway so.." I trailed off

"Wait what did you do? And what do you mean they can't spend it?" She furrowed her brows together. I just stared at her because she knew exactly what I meant "What do you think Summer"

"Demetrius" she shook her head. "Summer" I said back cracking a light smile. It wasn't funny but I knew in the moment I was getting on her nerves. She'll be fine. I zipped the bags up and put them into the closet I'll deal with that in the morning. "How could you be so calm right now"

"I'm calm because I made sure you'll never be put in that situation again. I can guarantee you'll never see them again , they don't even exist anymore. Do you understand now?"

She nodded. "Nah what you always tell Kayla 'use your words'" I joked and she flipped me off. "Yes I understand"

"Good" I went into the bathroom and hopped in the shower. I stayed in the shower long than usual since it was the only place I could really think and reflect on shit.

The Next Day

Ma's House | 3:00Pm

Kayla had her first ballet recital earlier today and we were now all at Ma's crib. She smelled all of the different flowers she received from everyone. She picked up the flowers I gave her "These are my favorite" she came over giving me a hug "Thanks Meechie" She finally was able to say my name right. "No problem Princess"

"Damnn Twin you ain't like the flowers I gave you" Harold joked. Lil harold was one of my homies. "Sorry Twin" Kayla laughed as she went over hugging his leg.

"Not yall teaching my niece this Atlanta slang" Nikole said.

I looked over at Summer who was deep into her phone she look mad as hell. "What's wrong?"

Summer~

Pissed off wasn't even the right word to describe how I was feeling. I was mad that Markeyvius didn't show up to Kayla's recital. He's known about this date since I first put her in Ballet classes months ago and even reassured that he would be here multiple times. It really pissed me off this morning as I got her ready and she asked about him.

~FlashBack To This Morning~

"Mommy is Daddy coming today?" I finished putting in her earrings and sighed looking over at my phone. No new notifications appeared. "I don't know yet, he hasn't called me back" Kayla's face changed and she looked sad. I swear I hated this man so much sometimes. "Okay princess step back let me see" I felt the tears coming I was so excited and happy she looks so beautiful. I took my phone out getting a quick picture of her as she started practicing.

On the way to the dance studio she didn't say one word in the car and then I literally spent every minute consoling her before she got on stage because she wouldn't stop crying once she realized Markeyvius really wasn't coming. I was so mad because I know the exact hurt she was feeling at the time. "Is Meechie here" she asked. I nodded wiping her tears and she stopped crying. This girl loved her some Meech.

One of the biggest things I loved about Meech was that he was there for her since we first got together. Which I know was hard considering the fact he doesn't have any kids of his own so this was all new to him. "Yup Meech is here, Grandma, Nikole, Uncle Myles, Taina, even Essex is here. We are all here to watch you. It's going to be okay" She smiled "Okay I'm ready"

~End of Flash Back~

"What's wrong?" Meech asked me. I snapped out of my thoughts looking up at him. "Nothing I'm fine" I lied.

"Come here" He grabbed my hand going into Ma's kitchen. "Why you lying Summer?" I leaned against the counter. "I'm just upset with how he did her today" To be honest he's been lacking lately the past few weeks he's only seen her one weekend and had to bring her back early because 'Something came up'

"Mannn Fuck him Summer. He don't wanna be in her life that's on him" He came closer to me getting between my legs. "She's happy now, that's all that matter. We got her, I got her" He pulled me into a kiss.

Nikole came into the kitchen "I know yall not up in here kissing by the food" she rolled her eyes. "You always talking about some damn food" Meech said and Nikole put her hands on her heart dramatically. "Talking about a pregnant woman is insane" she said.

"You right, you right my bad" He turned back to me "I gotta go handle something real quick with the guys Ima meet you back at the house"

"Why? Where you going?" I said raising my eyebrows. "Come on now here you go starting with the questions" He said smiling. I don't know why he was smiling because I was serious but I'll let it go for right now. "Okay never mind. I'll see you at home" I said with a hint of attitude.

He gave me another kiss "And fix that attitude before I get home, or ima fix it for you" he said.

"Mmm I hope so" I smirked at him as he headed back into the living room.

"Yall are disgusting!" Nikole fake gagged as she went into Ma's refrigerator pulling out a jar of pickles.

I pulled out my phone as it vibrated in my pocket. Scrunching my face up at the name "Why is Dj calling me?"
