"this is a joke right?"

geonu stared at him with disbelief. jake just finished explaining his situation but his best friend seemed to find it unbelievable.

"jake, tell me you're not really leaving," geonu went closer to him and started hitting his shoulder. "this isn't some telenovela shit you dumbass!"

"i'm leaving in four days-"

"four?! now that's just bullshit. i'm not falling into your prank." jake sighed when he saw tears forming on geonu's eyes.

he pats his head, trying to calm him. "don't cry, dumbass."

"but i don't want you to leave," his best friend wipes his tears with his hand. "can't you just stay? i promise i won't ask answers from you anymore."

he laughed softly. "i can't, i already told my grandfather that i'll go with him."

"i don't care about that old man, he deserves to eat grass." geonu pouted while crossing his arms. he sat on the floor, looking devastated.

i'm gonna miss this guy. jake sat beside him, letting his head fall on geonu's shoulder.

"what about your studies? are you really going to study law? i know you're smart, but that sounds so awful." geonu mumbled.

"i don't know, i guess i'm gonna find out once we get there."

"what did jaehyuk say? did he just let you do that for him? he should've tried to talk to your grandfather or atleast persuade him," his friend asked more.

he shook his head. "he said he's sorry that he put me in this situation. but to be honest, it was my decision. i want him to atleast have some freedom."

geonu chuckled, "what about yours then? are you okay with leaving everything, in exchange for your brother's happiness?"

jake closed his eyes. yes, i'm okay with that. my parents would want him to stay, not me. he's more important.

"and you're okay with leaving sunghoon?"

no. i don't want to leave him. "i already left him. i broke his heart."

the other just looked at him. "remember when i told you that it's always the smart ones who get stupid when it comes to love? yeah, you're the perfect example."

he rolled his eyes. they both stood up and went back to the living room. geonu gives him a look before staring at the couch in front of them.

"i was planning on sleeping here. can you atleast take back your bed? i don't wanna sleep on the floor." geonu grunted as he laid on the couch.

jake shrugged. he was suppose to go home earlier, but he didn't want to stay there. he prefers to sleep in his apartment, even if it's now mostly empty.

"ah! i've got an idea," geonu grabbed his phone and started typing something.

"hyung! open the door please i'm fucking freezing in here-" geonu stopped yelling when daniel covered his mouth.

"geonu it's almost 7 pm, do you want the neighbors to report you to the police for not shutting up?" jake, sunoo, and jungwon are just laughing while watching at the two bicker nonstop.

minutes later, sunoo reached for the doorbell again. "why is hanbin hyung not opening the door? we already chat him though."

"let's just wait for a bit." jake added.

geonu clicked his tongue. "let's just get inside through the window."

"geonu that's a criminal's behavior."

"daniel, if you look closely... you look more like a criminal compared to me- ouch!" since geonu is leaning on the door, he groaned when the it suddenly opened, making him lose his balance.

"finally hanbin hyu- eh?" sunoo exclaimed. the others looked confused as well.

"hello guys! hehe," nicholas grinned while getting out of hanbin's house.

"bye guys!" he even waved at them before getting inside his car and driving off.

jake chuckled. they didn't expect to see him here. geonu gasped and ran inside while screaming hanbin's name.

"what the hell was that?" jungwon mumbled while shaking his head.

"nicholas? really? you said you're not dating him!" geonu yelled again. they're currently watching some random movie that daniel picked, while talking to each other.

hanbin rolled his eyes. "who said i'm not dating him? he's my boyfriend, duh."

"huh? since when? also, aren't you always fighting with him?" sunoo interjected, grabbing some popcorn to eat.

"that's just my love language."

"hyung, your love language is bullying- okay i'm kidding!" geonu backed away when hanbin tried to hit him with his pillow.

jungwon speaks up while his eyes are focusing on the movie. "i thought you're dating kei hyung."

hanbin paused and shrugged. "well, you guessed it wrong. anyways, enough about that."

he glanced at jake who is just quiet the whole time while watching at them talking. "you said you were gonna tell us something. what is it?"

ah, right. i almost forgot. jake cleared his throat, trying to ease his nervousness. i can do this.

he looked at geonu, and the guy nodded at him with assurance.

"jake, what is it? your making me nervous." daniel chuckled and paused the movie. now all their eyes are on him, waiting for him to speak.

"uh," jake gulped. "i know this is sudden, but...."

"but what?" jungwon asked, feeling impatient.

jake bit his lower lip. i don't want to cry.

"i'm leaving." he laughs awkwardly, "i'll have to go with my grandfather. i'll be leaving four days from now, and i don't know when i'll be back."

silence enveloped the whole room. they had the same exact reaction that geonu had earlier.

sunoo gasped. "i- what?" he turned to look at geonu, "is this a prank?"

geonu shook his head, fighting the urge to cry again. jake had to explain everything from the start, and they listened intently.

"so this is why you wanted us to have a sleepover..." hanbin suddenly hugged him after he finished talking.

"but this won't be the last time right?"

i don't know, hyung. i don't have the answer to that.

jake finally lets out all the tears that he's been keeping. he sobbed louder when he felt the others also joined in hugging him.

"the seat next to me will be empty now," sunoo mumbled while crying.

jungwon is crying beside him, wiping his tears everytime it rolls down his cheeks. he even had the time to roll his eyes at daniel, who is also crying.

"dan, you look so ugly when you cry."

sunoo glared at jungwon. "how can you say that to daniel? you literally liked him before, jay even had to-" he stopped talking when jungwon covered his face with a pillow.

daniel's face was full of confusion. "huh? you liked me?"

"you liked that donkey? gross," geonu made a vomiting sound while snuggling closer to jake.

hanbin lets go of him and chuckled. "so basically, daniel liked sunoo, and jungwon liked daniel? wow, that's interesting."

jungwon scoffed. "i wasn't thinking normal that time okay?"

"so you really liked me? i'm sorry won, i can't accept your love-"

"you shit, why are you suddenly trying to reject me? i don't like you anymore!"

"how about we call jay and ask him how he feels about that huh?"

"geonu drop your phone right now-"

"hyung help me jungwon's turning rabid!"

"shut up! the whole neighborhood will hear you at this rate!"

ah, this is home. jake sighed with content, watching his friends have fun.

only one last thing before i leave. i have to clear things up with him.
