Selena's POV;
"Listen, if you change your mind and you don't want to try out, it's not too late to turn around and go back, we can go get something to eat." Justin said, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Justin, why are you so upset about this?" I rested my hand on his shoulder, getting him to look me in the eye. "I just know those girls can be ignorant and rude and I don't want them to find anything to bug you about." He sighed, his eyes went to his feet. I wanted to smile at how cute he was being, but I kept my smile hidden.
"I'm doing this to see if I even make it, I probably won't, I just want to try this. If it doesn't work out then I'll drop it." I reassured him.ย Justin nodded his head and walked over to the girls with me.
"Hi Justin!" A brunette with blue eyes smiled. "Hey." Justin smiled, nodding his head.
"What are you doing here?" She asked him. "I wanted to introduce someone to you, she wants to try out." He smiled, peaking down at me.ย The brunette smiled at me, "Hello! I'm Nicole, I'm the captain." She stuck her hand out, I shook it, "I'm Selena." "Wow, that's a pretty name! So are you Justin's girlfriend or?" Justin's eyes damn near bulged out of his head. "Uh, we are just friends." He coughed.
"Yeah." I said awkwardly.ย
"Well try outs are going to start soon so let's introduce you to my girl Serena!" She grabbed my arm and pulled me along with her. I looked back at Justin, "Bye!" I waved as I laughed, he laughed and waved back.
"Okay, so girls, we are going to start try outs soon, but first I want all of us to introduce ourselves, I'll start. I'm Nicole, and this is my best friend Serena." Nicole said, pointing to the blonde beside her. Serena waved and smiled to all us newcomers.
"Let's start with you!" Nicole pointed to me. I waved to the group of girls, "Hello, I'm Selena!" I smiled. The girls all said hello and they moved onto the next girl, they did that for every girl trying out. There was about fifteen of us.
"Okay ladies, let's start with the routine, I'll show you the moves step by step, and then we will practice it and go through it at regular pace, don't worry it's not hard!" Nicole smiled.
I watched intently at what Nicole was doing, making sure to place my feet and arms exactly how she was, she let us run through it to ourselves for ten minutes.
"Alright! Looking good everyone! It's time to do it at regular pace, we will go through it twice, we will only be picking six girls!" She smiled, turning around.
"1...2...3!" She started the routine and all of us following her every move. I wouldn't say I was absolutely amazing, but I was nailing this routine.
I took a sip of my water, sitting on the grass once we finished.ย I spotted Justin running over to me, he sat next to me in the grass, "You killed it! I didn't know you could move like that." He praised. I giggled, "I told you, you can't possibly know me in one day." He patted my thigh and gave me a smile.
"Are they going to tell you guys now, who made it? Or are they going to post it on the bulletin board outside the office?" Justin asked. "I'm not sure, she didn't say." I shrugged.
"Okay ladies! We made a decision, but we don't have time to announce it before lunch is over, so Serena will post it on the bulletin board outside the office during fourth period! Good luck!" Nicole smiled, grabbing her clipboard and walking back towards the building.
"There's your answer." I smirked at Justin. He stood to his feet, placing his feet on the top of mine, reaching his hands out, I grabbed onto his hands, blushing as I did. He pulled me up out of the grass.ย I turned to bend down and grab my water when I heard fits of laughter coming from Justin. "What?" I turned, turning crimson, embarrassed already, but not knowing why. "You have grass all over your ass." He giggled. I wiped my butt, "is it gone?" I asked. "No!" He laughed even harder.
I sighed, "Will you please help me then?" "You want me to touch your ass?" He rose his brows. "Only to get the grass off, friends help each other out, don't they?" I cocked a brow at him. He cleared his throat, "Uh, yeah, they do." He hesitantly placed his hand on my ass and began brushing the grass off. "There." He said.ย I blushed at the fact that he touched me. "Thank you." He nodded his head.
"I totally didn't bring an extra shirt to change out of after Fitness class, and I'm all sweaty in this one." I sighed, "Ew, so I'm going to have to be next to a smelly sweaty person for the rest of day?" Justin crinkled his nose.ย I looked at his playful eyes, and giggled, "Guess so."
"Come on, we don't wanna be late for fitness." "I think I did enough with cheer tryouts." I sighed, wiping my forehead. "I told you not to do it." Justin laughed.
"I can't believe I didn't bring an extra shirt." I rubbed my face in frustration. "Yeah I know, you stink already." Justin plugged his nose, I sniffed myself, "I do not!" He laughed, "I'm just playing, I think I have an extra t-shirt you could borrow." Justin smiled. "Really?" "Yes." "Thank you." He nodded his head at me.
After fitness, Justin was waiting outside the bathroom door for me, "I look ridiculous." I laughed, peaking my head out of the doorway to him. "Why?" He furrowed his brows. "It's a little big, and by a little I mean A LOT." I laughed, stepping out, showing him the white t-shirt that reached my knees. "Oh my god!" Justin laughed. "I didn't realize how tiny you were!" He said in shock. I laughed. "I mean, I could take my pants off and make it a t-shirt dress, but it's cooling off outside." I said.
Justin smiled, looking at me from head to toe, "You're so cute and small, I can't handle it." I blushed, letting my face drop towards the ground. Justin grabbed my chin between his thumb and index finger, lifting my face up to look at him, "Come on cheerleader, let's see if you made it." He smiled. I turned crimson at his close proximity. "Don't call me cheerleader yet, I probably didn't make it." "Don't be silly, you were the best one there." He smiled, taking my hand and leading me to the office.
"I can't look." I chewed my lip nervously. "Fine, I will. What's your last name?" He asked, "Gomez." "That sounds familiar." He furrowed his brows. I shrugged. I watched as his finger scanned with his eyes over the list, trying to find my name, his finger stopped at the bottom. He looked at me with sad eyes. "Sel, I'm so so-" he began, but I cut him off, "Its totally okay, I didn't think I would make it anyways, can we go? I wanna help you with your math." I gave a small smile. He nodded.
We grabbed our stuff from our lockers, and started to head out of the school doors, "Sel, I need to tell you something." Justin said, peaking down at me. "What?" "I was going to say this but you rudely cut me off while I was talking." He smirked. I furrowed my brows, "I wasn't telling you I was sorry because you didn't make the team, I was saying sorry because your name was first on the list and you're gonna have to give up all your lunches for cheer practice." He giggled. I gasped, I slapped his arm, "What the hell! You secretly broke my heart!" I stomped ahead of him.
Justin threw his head back in fits of laughter, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" "Yeah whatever!" I kept a distance between us. "Sel, seriously, I'm sorry!" I felt him grab my hand, making me freeze, I turned to him, "I said, it's okay, I'm just joking around, I'm not really mad." I giggled. I smiled as his smile broke his worried expression.
"You kno-" I was interrupted by loud booms of thunder, Justin and I shot our heads towards the sky, as sheets of rain started to pour on us. The rain was coming down so hard and fast it was pulling strands of hair out of my pony tail, I looked over to Justin and his usually spiked up hair was now flat down, as the water soaked him. "I didn't know it was supposed to storm!" I squealed. "Me either!" Justin laughed. You would think we would have started walking again, but we stood there, laughing at each other. I looked down at the white t-shirt of Justin's that was covering my body, "Oh no!" I gasped, folding my arms to cover my chest. "What?" Justin furrowed his brows, using his hand to wipe the water off his face. "My shirt is see through!" Justin's eyes quickly scanned the shirt I was wearing, "Don't look!" I laughed.
Justin laughed, grabbing my hand, we ran down the street nearing my house. "Do you want to work at my house or yours?" I asked him through my giggles, the water splashing as our feet pounded against the ground. "Yours, its closer, plus my parents are having this event tonight and I don't want to be there." He smiled at me. I nodded and lead him up the path to my house. "I don't know how we are going to do this without soaking my whole house." I sighed, we stood at the front door in the house, the water pouring off us onto the hardwood floors.
"Mom! Dad! Is anyone home?" I shouted, "Yes honey we are both ho- oh my goodness what happened to you two!?" My mom came in, she tried to hold back fits of giggles looking at Justin and I. "We might have gotten caught in the rain." I laughed. "You think?" She giggled, "let me go grab you a stack of towels, oh my." She laughed, turning around heading to the closet upstairs to get us the towels.
"She seems nice." Justin said, looking down at me. I instantly covered my chest again, remembering that my shirt is completely see through. Justin smirked at my realization. "Here you guys go!" My mom came back with a few towels, "thank you mom!" "Thank you Mrs. Gomez." "Oh please, Call me Maria!" My mom said, holding her hand out to Justin, he took it and placed a gentle kiss on the back of her hand, I rose my brows in shock, my moms cheeks turning crimson, "I'm Justin." He smiled, letting go of her hand. My mom nodded and darted upstairs.
"You just make all the ladies swoon, don't you?" I looked up to Justin, "I guess so, Are you one of those ladies?" Justin smirked at me. I threw a towel at him, "Lets dry up so we can start the math."
Justin smirked at me as I avoided his question, I used the towel to squeeze what I could of the water out of my clothes, Justin doing the same. "We are going to have to change our clothes." I sighed, peaking up to Justin. "Well you can, I can't, it's still pouring and I don't have clothes here."
I wiped the floor where the water had been dripped moments before, I grabbed the towels standing to my feet, "Come on." I lead Justin upstairs to my room. I open the door and placed the non used towels on the bed, spreading them open. "You can sit here but on the towels." I pointed to the little spot I had made for Justin. He nodded, taking a seat on my bed. "Your room is cute." He smirked, looking around my lilac coloured room, I had a couple paintings I did myself hanging on the walls, fairy lights on the wall around my bed, and a bunch of pictures from my childhood up until last year scattering my walls. "Thank you." I whispered as I opened my curtains that were a dark purple to watch the storm.
Justin watched me as I walked over to my dresser. "Why are you smirking at me?" "Because my shirt is still see through and I can see your bra." He laughed. I blushed, quickly grabbing a change of clothes, going into the bathroom attached to my room, shutting and locking the door.
I looked at myself in the mirror and gasped in horror, my hair looked like a rats nest, my mascara had smudged a little. I quickly removed my makeup and taken my hair out of my pony tail, combing through it with my fingers before flinging it to my back. I changed my clothes into a baggy sweater and sweatpants and walked out.
My eyes bulged as I seen a naked back, I swallowed a lump in my throat as I look at theย beautiful shirtless boy sitting on my bed. "Are you going to keep staring at me or help me out?" He smirked, turning slightly with a math textbook in his hand. "I'll um, I'll help you." I gulped. I walked and put my wet clothes into my laundry hamper. I sat on the bed across from Justin, taking the textbook out of his hand.
I flipped through the pages finding the questions we had to work on. I quickly explained how to solve the question he was struggling on, and watched as he continued to finish the other questions he didn't complete.
I watched as he wrote, my eyes wondered up his arms, which to my surprise, had tattoos spread across them, my eyes landed on his toned tummy, making my stomach get all giddy. My eyes continued their journey up his toned chest to his long neck. I quickly let my eyes gaze up his jaw and lips that he licked as I watched. I let my eyes fall onto his, snapping out of my gaze when I realize he's already looking back at me. A smirk playing on his lips.
"Like what you see?" I gulped hard and stood up from the bed, "I'll be right back." I went across the hall and knocked on my parents door. "Hey hun." My dad opened the door, kissing my cheek. "Hey dad! I was wondering if you had some clothes Justin could borrow, the storm hit us on the walk home and he's soaking wet." I chewed on my lip nervously. "That boy better not be in your room." He said sternly. "He is, but the doors open, I promise nothing is going on between us dad, he's just a friend." I said in defense. "Oh Julian, just give the boy something to wear, poor thing. I met him downstairs, he seems really sweet." My mother interrupted us.
"I'm just helping him with his math homework, I swear." I spoke again. My dad sighed, grabbing a shirt and some pants, handing them to me. "Hopefully these will fit him." He said. I kissed him on the cheek, "Thanks dad!"
I walked back into my room, "Here, they are my dads, hopefully they fit. He doesn't own any comfy clothes so it's a button up shirt and khakis." I sighed, placing the clothes in Justin's hands. He smirked at me before taking off into the bathroom.
"Thank you for the change of clothes." Justin said, I turned to look at him, my eyes going wide, he was looking in my mirror, rolling the sleeves to the light blue button up shirt to his elbows, he had left the top two buttons undone, showing a bit of his chest. My eyes scanned over the khaki pants adorning his hips, they hugged his butt perfectly, and hung perfectly down just slightly passed his ankles, the backs hitting the heels of his bare feet.
"You really need to stop staring at me." Justin laughed. "You really need to stop looking so good." I slapped my hand over my mouth, instantly regretting opening my mouth. Justin tilted his head back, laughter filling the room. I turned crimson, "I'm so sorry." I said, muffled by my hand still covering my mouth. "It's okay." He smiled.
I can't believe I said that. That's so embarrassing. First I kissed him on the cheek the first day we met and now I told him he's good looking on the second day of knowing him. Go Sel, keep embarrassing yourself.
Justin turned back to my mirror and ran his fingers through his hair, leaving it down, but styling it around so it fell nicely, just reaching his forehead. My dad walked into my room, "Your mother and I are leaving soon." He said, his eyes darting over to Justin, who was already walking towards my father. "I'm Justin" he smiled. "Julian." My dad shook Justin's hand. "Nice to meet you, sir." Justin smiled. My dad nodded at Justin and walked out, Justin gave me a confused glance.
"He's protective." I said softly, Justin nodded his head. "I'm his little girl, he would kill someone if they ever hurt me." Justin's eyes went wide. "Don't worry you'll be safe, you made my mother your number one fan, she'll protect you." I giggled.ย Justin laughed.
"I just have one more math question to finish and then I'm done." Justin sighed. I nodded my head as he took the towels off the bed that he was sitting on. I grabbed them from him and threw them in the hamper.
"I'll go say bye to my parents, you finish up." I said to Justin, walking out of the room. I ran downstairs to see them at the door, putting light jackets on to protect them from the rain, my father grabbed an umbrella. "Have fun!" I smiled. "We will! Be good. No fooling around in my house." My dad said sternly. I blushed, "Don't worry daddy, we are JUST friends." "Mhm." He said, not believing me.
"Oh Julian, leave her alone, if she said not to worry then don't worry!" My mom slapped his arm.ย I blew them a kiss as they walked out the door, my dad holding the umbrella for my mom to walk under. I sighed closing the door, I want a love like theirs.
I watched as Justin came down the stairs, "All done?" He nodded his head. "Do you wanna watch a movie?" I asked, walking to the living room. "Yeah, sure." He smiled.
We sat down on the couch and began to flick through the movies, in the corner of my eye I could spot Justin watching me. I let him stare for a minute. I finally turned to him, "You should really stop staring at me." I smirked to him. He looked at me in shock, a smirk coming across his lips.
