Stark Expo Gone Wrong
Me, Pepper, and Happy arrived at the Stark Expo. I didn't really want to be here but my dad and Pepper said I couldn't stay home alone.
Nat came over to the car and opened the door for us. "I'll keep the car down here, all right?" Happy told Pepper.
"Thank you Happy."
"...Justin Hammer. His presentation will begin shortly in the main pavilion." An announcer said as Me, Pepper, and Nat sat down.
Justin came onto the stage and started dancing. "Oh my god." I muttered putting face into my hands. He eventually stopped dancing and the annoying cheers stopped.
"Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Thanks for coming. Ladies and gentlemen, for far too long, this country has had to place its brave men and women in harm's way, but then the Iron Man arrived, and we thought the days of losing lives were behind us. Sadly, that technology was kept out of reach. That's not fair. That's not right. And it's just too bad." Justin explained making me roll my eyes.
"Oh lord." I heard Pepper mumble.
"Regardless, it was an impressive innovation, one that grabbed the headlines the world over. Well, today, my friends, the press is faced with quite a difficult problem. They are about to run out of ink." Justin said as two people went to go take the podium he was in front off the stage.
"Get that out of here. Ladies and gentlemen, today I present to you the new face of the United States military. The Hammer drone." Drones started rising out the stage and it was pretty impressive to be honest. "Army! Navy! Air Force! Marines! Yeah! Yeah! Woo! That's a hell of a lot better than some cheerleaders, let me tell you. But as revolutionary as this technology is, there will always be a need for man to be present in the theatre of war."
"Ladies and gentlemen, today I am proud to present to you the very first prototype in the Variable Threat Response Battle Suit and its pilot, Air Force Lieutenant Colonel James Rhodes." Justin announced making my eyes widened in shock.
"What?"
"Rhodey?!"
"For America and its allies, Hammer Industries is reporting for..." Justin started when suddenly a familiar figure started flying towards the stage. It landed...it was Iron Man.
I saw that Rhodey and Dad were talking, and I know made out a couple of words. Why am I hearing them so well? And why do I also hear a bug buzzing?
My train of thought was interrupted when suddenly a gun on Rhodey's suit lifted up aiming for the crowd.
"Is that you?" I heard my dad ask.
"No, I'm not doing that. That's not me. I can't move. I'm locked up. I'm locked up!" Rhodey shouted when suddenly a bunch of drones took aim. "Get out of here! Go! This whole system's been compromised."
My dad took off and the drones plus Rhodey started firing at him. Rhodey then took off.
Pepper, Nat, and I left to go find Justin. I spotted him running up to a computer. "What's going on? What's happening?"
"The software's been overridden." A technician said.
"What? What do you mean it's been overridden? What does that mean?"
"I think he slaved the drones."
"That's impossible. Call the guards."
"All the phones are down sir."
"Well, then call their... Call their cells." Justin suggested. Is he dumb? Phones means all types of phones.
"Their cell phones are not working either sir."
"He's locked you out the mainframe." I heard from a far. Me, Nat, and Pepper finally reached the place he was at.
"Who's locked you out of the mainframe?" Pepper asked as she entered.
"Please, please, go away. Go away. I've got this handled." Justin told her.
"Have you now?"
"Yes, I do. In fact, if your guy hadn't showed up, this wouldn't be happening. So, please, now go away. Thank you." Justin explained making me scoff. "Listen, we got to get these bitches out of here."
What the hell did he just say?!
Nat suddenly grabbed Justin and held him down the desk. Holy shit!
"You tell me who's behind this. Who's behind this?" Nat asked him aggressively.
"Ivan. Ivan Vanko." Justin answered her, scared for his life.
"Where is he?" Nat asked.
"At my facility." Justin replied. Natasha let him go and left the room.
Damn, that...was...kinda...hot.
Pepper then started a dialed a number on her phone. I assumed it was the cops.
"I need NYPD, please."
"No, no, no!" Justin begged.
"Command Central."
"No, no, honey. Don't call the authorities." Justin pleaded.
"Don't call her honey!" I snapped at him making look at me confused.
"Okay. Right away. Right away." Pepper said before turning to Justin. "Step aside. Step aside." She then went up to the technician and said, "Tell me everything you know. Go."
A few minutes pass and the technician still couldn't get in the system.
"Each set of drone is communicating in its own unique language." The technician explained.
"Well just choose one and go based on that, stupid!" I snapped.
"Have you tried Russian? Why don't you try Russian?" Justin suggested making us look at him.
"Not a bad idea." I said to him. I turned to the technician. "Try it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few minutes pass and we got into the system. I suddenly heard a familiar voice.
"Reboot complete. You got your best friend back." It was Nat.
"Thank you very much, Agent Romanoff." My dad's voice said.
"Well done on the new chest piece. I am reading significant higher output and your vitals all look promising."
"Yes, for the moment. I'm not dying. Thank you."
Did he say he was dying?!
"What do you mean you're not dying? Did you just say you're dying?" Pepper started panicking as she spoke up.
"Is that you? No I'm not. Not anymore." My dad said to Pepper.
"What's going on?" Pepper asked.
"I was going to tell you and Kelsey. I didn't want to alarm you both."
"You weren't going to tell us you were dying?!" I exclaimed.
"You two didn't let me."
"Why didn't you tell me that?" Pepper grew more worried.
"I was gonna make an omelette and tell you."
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. There is always arguing. It's funny but annoying.
"Hey, hey. Save it for the honeymoon. You got incoming Tony. Looks like the fight's coming to you." Nat's voice said.
"Great. Pepper?"
"Are okay now?" Pepper asked.
"I am fine. Don't be mad. I will formally apologise..."
"I am mad!"
"...when I'm not fending off a Hammeroid attack."
"Fine."
"We could have been in Venice." My dad's voice said.
I rolled my eyes, "Oh please."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I told you that five minutes ago." Justin said.
The police then walked in, "That's your guy here."
"Excuse me?"
"You're being placed under arrest." A police officer said.
"Are you kidding me?"
"Hands behind your back sir." The officer ordered.
"I'm trying to help here. I get it. I see what you're doing. You're trying to pin this on me, huh? That's good. That's good. You're starting to think like a CEO, taking out the competition. I like that. You think you're making a problem for me?" He explained as he was led away. "I'm gonna make a problem for you. I'm gonna be seeing you again real soon."
Me and Pepper walked outside with some police officers. "When they get here, I think you should station them at the south, east and both west exits." Pepper explained to the officers.
"We shut down the 7 train in and out of Willets Point already." An officer told her.
"Well, have city buses there to ferry people to operating lines."
"Yeah. Are you coming with us?"
"No, I'm gonna stay until to park is clear." Pepper told him before he left.
I suddenly heard that buzzing again. It wasn't a bug...it couldn't be...it sounded like a message. I tried listen for the sound in different directions, and heard Pepper ask, "Kelsey, are you okay? What are you doing?"
I ignore and started walking in different directions searching for the sound.
I was so invested that didn't notice a drone heading my way.
"Kelsey!" I heard Pepper shout my name. I turned around and saw the drone inches from my face. I gasped before I felt someone push me back, as the drone exploded in a nearby building.
I looked up to see it wasn't Pepper that pushed me aside. I then looked next to me to see a boy about my age.
"Um, thank you. For saving me..." I took a look at his Iron Man replica hand. "...Iron Man."
I heard the boy laugh and say, "Uh...yeah...yeah no problem."
I got up and so did he before I stuck my hand out and said. "Kelsey."
He then looked at me and then at my hand before taking off the Iron Man helmet he had on. He revealed his face and to he was a pretty cute kid.
He then put the hand out that didn't have the Iron Man hand on it and said, "I'm Peter."
We both shook hands before Pepper called me over and I smiled. "I should go."
"It was nice meeting you." I smiled before waking off. That was nice of him.
3rd Person POV
Kelsey walked away from the boy who saved her from the drone and back to Pepper.
She thought it was nice of the boy, who didn't even know her to save her.
She really loved everything about it and she never thought she would ever meet that kid again. But little did Kelsey know, that kid would not only be her future best friend but also her future soulmate.

Kelsey's POV
Me and Pepper were standing in front of the building still waiting for my dad and Rhodey to return.
I then heard something beeping and I looked down to see a drone in front of us that looked like it was about to explode. "Pepper!"
Just as I shouted I felt someone grab me and a few seconds later I landed on a roof. I looked up to see the face of Rhodey.
"You okay, Kid?" He asked me and I nodded.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm good." I tried to catch my breath. I then looked over to the other side of the roof, and saw Pepper and my dad.
My dad took off his helmet and looked at Pepper. "Oh my God. I can't take this anymore."
"You can't?" My dad asked.
"I can't take this."
"Look at me."
"My body, literally, cannot handle the stress. I never know if you're gonna kill yourself or wreak the whole company." Pepper explained.
"I think I did okay." Just as he said that sentence, there was an explosion and the whole town was covered in fire.
"I quit. I'm resigning. That's it." Pepper told my dad, making me gasp lightly in shock. She can't resign! Who's going to be there for me, while my dad can't?
"What did you just say? You're done? That's surprising. No, it's not surprising. I get it. You don't have to make excuses." My dad was shocked by the statement Pepper made.
"I'm... I'm... I'm not making any excuses." They both kept going on and on.
"You actually were just making excuses. But you don't have to."
"No, I wasn't making an excuse. I'm actually very justified."
"Listen. Hey, hey. You deserve better."
"Well..."
"You've taken such good care of me. I've been in a tough spot, but you got me through it, so... Right?"
"Thank you."
"Yeah."
"Thank you for understanding."
"Yeah, yeah. Let's talk clean-up."
"I'll handle the transition. It'll be smooth."
"Okay. What about the press? Because you only had the job for a week. That's gonna seem..."
"Well, with you it's like dog years." Pepper said.
"I know."
"I mean, it's like the Presidency." Pepper spoke before my dad leaned and kissed her. I widened my eyes in shock before smiling. Yes! Finally!
"Weird." My dad said.
"No, it's not weird."
"It's okay, right?"
"Yeah."
"Run that by me again." They start to kiss again.
"I think it was weird." Rhodey spoke up.
"Oh definitely." I smiled, making both my dad and Pepper break apart and turn around.
"You guys look like two seals fighting over a grape." Rhodey told them making me laugh a bit.
"I had just quit, actually." Pepper admitted.
"Yeah, so we're not..."
"Dad, stop. Don't say anything. We heard the whole thing." I told my dad with a smile.
"You should get lost, and take Kels with you." My dad said to Rhodey.
"I was here first. Get a roof."
"I thought you were out of one-liners."
"That's the last one."
"You kicked ass back there, by the way." My dad told his friend.
"Thank you. You too. Listen, my car got taken out in the explosion, so I'm gonna have to hang on to your suit for a minute, okay?" Rhodey explained.
"Not okay. Not okay with that." My dad said.
"It wasn't a question." He replied before he took off.
"Well then." I laughed.
My dad turned to Pepper, "How are you gonna resign if I don't accept?"
Hey y'all!! Here's another chapter!! This took forever to write because I had to figure out everything with Kelsey.
Also, I came up with that idea of younger Peter saving Kelsey at last minute. I always wanted them to meet before Civil War but I didn't know how. So, I came up with this. I also plan on having them go to school together and meeting again when Kelsey starts middle school and high school.
Btw, I watched Doctor Strange: MOM yesterday!! And I'm depressed again y'all. I have no words....anyways, after seeing it. I had an idea after seeing the movie. I was thinking about having Kelsey in the movie later on in the series. But I'm not sure yet. I'll see how Kelsey's story goes and decide on that.
Hope you all enjoyed the chapter and only one chapter left until we move onto The Avengers!! I'm so excited to do that because I have big plans for Kelsey.
Anyways, have a wonderful day everyone!
Love you!
-Mary💗
