3rd Person POV

Kelsey, Pepper, and Happy were waiting at the California Military Base for Tony to arrive. A giant plane landed and the ramp lowered as Rhodey came out, helping Tony out of a wheelchair and down the ramp.

"Watch it, coming up here." Rhodey said as him and Tony try to get by people and medics.

"Are you kidding me with this? Get rid of them." Tony told Rhodey as he saw the medics. Tony then turned to Pepper, "Your eyes are red. A few tears for your long-lost boss?"

"Tears of joy. I hate job hunting." Pepper told him.

"Yeah, vacation's over." Tony said before turning looking behind Pepper, to see his daughter Kelsey. "Why are you hiding from me?"

"I'm not hiding from you." Kelsey said with a laugh.

"Yes you are." Tony laughed before picking her up with the arm not in a sling, making Kelsey laugh.

Tony, Pepper, Kelsey, and Happy get into a car. Pepper takes Kelsey from Tony and puts her in her lap.

"Where to, sir?" Happy asked Tony.

"Take us to the hospital, please, Happy." Pepper answered him but Tony protested.

"No."

"No? Tony, you have to go to the hospital." Pepper told him.

"No is a complete answer." Tony said making Kelsey roll her eyes.

"The doctor has to look at you, daddy." Kelsey told her father.

"I don't have to do anything. I've been in captivity for three months." Tony explained. "There are two things I want to do. I want an American cheeseburger, and the other..."

"That's enough of that." Pepper closed her eyes.

"It's not what you think." Tony finished. "I want you to call for a press conference now."

"Call for a press conference?" Pepper asked incredulously, and Tony answered with a "yeah". "What on earth for?"

"Hogan, drive. Cheeseburger first." Tony ordered Happy.

"I want a cheeseburger." Kelsey said with a smile.

"Two cheeseburgers." Tony said before Happy drove off.

Happy had drove up to Stark Industries Headquarters, where Obadiah had been waiting for Tony with press and their employees.

Tony, Pepper, Happy, and Kelsey get out of the car and Obadiah walks up to Tony.

"Look at this! Tony. We were going to meet at the hospital."

"No I'm fine." Tony grabbed the last cheeseburger from the bag.

"Look at you! You had to have a burger, yeah?" Obadiah walked off with Tony.

"You get me one of those?" Obadiah asked, as Pepper and Kelsey walked behind them.

"Well Kelsey ate the other one and there's only one left. I need it." Tony told him making Kelsey roll her eyes a bit.

"Hey, look who's here! Yeah!"

Kelsey and Pepper were standing next to each other, while everyone was waiting for Tony.

A man walked up to Pepper. He looked like an agent or something, "Miss Potts?"

"Yes." Pepper turned to the man.

"Can I speak to you for a moment?" The man asked her.

"I'm not part of the press conference, but it's about to begin right now." Pepper told the mean assuming he was a reporter.

"I'm not a reporter. I'm Agent Phil Coulson, with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division." Agent Coulson informed her. Kelsey turned her head towards them.

"That's a quite mouthful." Kelsey chuckled.

"I know. We're working on it."

"You know, we've been approached already by the DOD, the FBI, the CIA..." Pepper informed him.

"We're a separate division with a more specific focus. We need to debrief Mr. Stark about the circumstances of his escape." Coulson told her. Kelsey's eyes widened a bit. How did her father escape? Did he fight someone? Did he have help? There was a reason and she'll find out soon enough.

"I'll put something in the book, shall I?" Pepper smiled slightly at the man.

"Thank you."

"Well, let's get this started, uh..." Obadiah looked to see Tony sitting on the ground, in front of the podium.

"Hey, would it be all right if everyone sat down? Why don't you just sit down? That way you can see me, and I can... A little less formal and..." Tony took a bite out of his cheeseburger as everyone, sat down or squatted down.

"What's up with the love-in?" Rhodey asked Pepper.

"Don't look at me. I don't know what he's up to." Pepper replied.

"I never know what my dad is up to. He's different." Kelsey told the Air Force officer.

Kelsey turned her head back to her father and saw him sitting in front of the podium still.

"I never got to say goodbye to Dad. I never got to say goodbye to my father. There's questions that I would have asked him. I would have asked him how he felt about what this company did. If he was conflicted, if he ever had doubts. Or maybe he was every inch the man we all remember from the newsreels." Tony explained as Kelsey smiled a bit.

She never met her grandparents, but from all the things she heard from her dad...they were bad. Her grandfather wasn't the nicest person although he was pretty cool. Her grandmother was very sweet and loved everyone though. They were murdered before she was born, apparently by Hydra. But they never knew who killed them. Only that it was a soldier from Hydra.

"I saw young Americans killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw that I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero accountability." Tony continued.

"Mr Stark!" Reporters called.

"Hey, Ben." Tony pointed to a reporter.

"What happened over there?" Ben asked him.

"I had my eyes opened." Tony stood up and stood behind the podium. "I came to realize that I have more to offer this world than just making things that blow up. And that is why, effective immediately, I am shutting down the weapons manufacturing division of Stark International..." Everyone stood up in commotion. Pepper and Kelsey looked at each in shock. "...until such a time as I can decide what the future of the company will be."

Obadiah got up in slight shock, "I think we're gonna be selling a lot of newspapers." He stood next to Tony.

"What direction it should take, one that I'm comfortable with and is consistent with the highest good for this country, as well." Tony said before he left the stage.

"What we should take away from this is that Tony's back! And he's healthier than ever. We're going to have a little internal discussion and we'll get back to you with the follow-up."

Hey guys!! So here's the next chapter!! It's only the second chapter and Kelsey has rolled her eyes about three times already, lol.
