𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐋𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐑 approached me and informed me that I was sitting in his seat, I felt a rush of embarrassment wash over me. I hesitated for a moment, struggling to find my voice, before finally standing up and moving to a different seat. As I sat down in my new spot, I couldn't help but feel like an idiot for making such a simple mistake.
As Lucifer sat down next to me, I couldn't help but steal glances at him from the corner of my eye. He seemed aloof and disinterested in the class, his body language conveying a sense of boredom.
As the teacher continued with the lesson, I diligently scribbled notes on my paper, trying to keep up with the fast pace of the class. Every now and then, I would glance over at Lucifer sitting next to me, intrigued by his disinterested demeanor. Before I knew it, I was finished writing, and Lucifer's voice broke through my concentration.
"posso avere il tuo documento?" he asked
"Huh?" I replied
he sighed in annoyance.
"can I get your paper?" He said again, his voice gruff.
"oh yeah, here." I slid my paper to him.
My gaze remained fixated on Lucifer as he continued copying my notes. I couldn't help but to stare, intrigued by his presence. However, my reverie was abruptly interrupted when a girl approached our table and slammed a book down in front of me. I looked up, startled by the sudden intrusion, and saw a tall, brunette girl standing over me.
"You know— it's rude to stare." She smirked at me.
I was jolted out of my thoughts as the girl spoke, her tone filled with taunting condescension. My confusion must have been apparent, judging by the way she smirked at me.
I realized that I had been caught staring at Lucifer. Before I could respond, Lucifer also looked at me, his expression unreadable.
"Faye, go fuck on someone else." Lucifer sighed.
"Fuck on someone else? Oh please, I actually came over to ask if you wanted to be my partner for this assignment, we have to read this big ass chemistry book and write down some fucking dumb facts and create a big project about it."
Lucifer continued to scroll through his phone, seemingly ignoring Faye and her presence, I couldn't help but feel the tension build in the air. I could practically feel his annoyance radiating off of him, and when he finally looked up, his gaze was steely and cold. There was no hint of warmth or friendliness in his expression, only disdain and irritation at her persistence.
"Hello? Did you fucking hear me?" Faye waved her hand in his face.
He stared nonchalantly at her,
"I did."
"Okay— so are you my partner or not?" she asked waiting for an answer.
Lucifer spoke in Italian, his words smooth and melodic. "beh, la nuova ragazza qui è la mia compagna, non vedi?" His voice was commanding and firm, leaving no room for argument.
(translation: well, new girl over here is my partner, can't you see?)
"Oh fuck you." Faye held her middle finger up at the both of us before strolling away.
"hate immatures." he sighed to himself as he continue to scroll on his phone.
As Lucifer scrolled through his phone with a nonchalant air, I summoned the courage to ask him what he had said to Faye to make her leave so abruptly and to flip us off like that. My voice trembled slightly as I spoke, betraying my nerves. "What did you say to her?" I stuttered, hoping for an answer that would satisfy my curiosity and nerves.
A small chuckle escaped Lucifer's lips as he finally looked up from his phone to respond. "Something her ass didn't want to hear," he said simply, his voice dripping with sardonic amusement.

"So how do you think your classes went?" Simona asked as we walked down the hallway headed towards the cafeteria for lunch.
"I mean... they were okay," I said with a shrug, trying to downplay my nervous energy. I didn't want to mention how uncomfortable I had felt in class, and especially didn't want to mention Faye's and Lucifer's intimidating presence.
"Hey don't worry, it'll get better here for you, that's how it was for me when I first arrived to Trench Highschool,"
"It was so ass in the beginning, I used to get bullied constantly."
"Bullied?— for what?" I asked curiously
"For just being the smart kid in class."
"Wow, that's honestly so horrible."
"It was so dumb because—how are you mad at me because of the type of glasses I wore? Or that I was smarter than you?"
"People are just miserable with themselves, they will literally project their insecurities onto you to make you feel bad about yourself."
"That's why I don't feel fazed anymore when people say shit to me, because that's just telling me that they're unhappy in their lives."
As Simona shared her story about being bullied at Trench High School, I listened intently, feeling a mix of sympathy and understanding. It was true that bullies often picked on others to make themselves feel better, and it saddened me to think that anyone could be so insecure and unkind. It made me wonder what could have happened in their lives to make them act that way, and if there was any way to help them. The conversation left me feeling thoughtful and more empathetic towards the people around me.
And that's also another reason why I'm not too quick to judge someone.
I followed behind Simona as we approached the cafeteria line, my stomach growling in anticipation of the food. When we finally reached the front, I was disappointed to see that they were serving turkey cheese sandwiches and fruit cups. I knew I should be grateful for the free lunch, but the thought of eating another dry sandwich made me wrinkle my nose in disgust.
"I'm so fucking tired of these weak sandwiches." Simona sighed
As we made it to the front of the lunch line, my stomach rumbled with hunger. The lunch lady, with a sour expression, barked out, "What do you want?" I felt a sense of dread wash over me as I could already tell she seemed like the type to skimp on food portions.
"A Sandwich please." I said nicely
My heart raced as the lunch lady mockingly threw the sandwich onto my tray. I tried to maintain a neutral expression, but I couldn't help feeling humiliated and angry. I could feel the other students' eyes on me, judging me for being the new girl and the target of the lunch lady's unkindness. When it was my turn, I quickly grabbed a fruit cup and a bottle of chocolate milk, eager to escape the lunch line and find a seat.
"Don't mind her, she mocks everyone, she's just miserable."
I returned a fake smile at Simona from her response.
What a way to make me feel better, yay.
I followed closely behind Simona as we approached a lunch table where one student were already seated. She gestured for me to join her, so I sat down warily, my nerves on edge after the embarrassing encounter with the lunch lady.
"Hey." Simona said to the male at the table.
The boy greeted her cheerfully, his voice loud and confident. He was a good-looking guy with a warm smile and easygoing demeanor.
"Dani, this is Eric, Eric this is Dani." She greeted us.
"ouu, your pretty." Eric smirked.
"Pretty?— why thank you." I said hesitantly.
The boy had an smile on his face.
"Anyways, what do you got for lunch Eric." Simona asked
"My ma packed me a pp&j, I was totally not going to eat these shitty sandwiches here." He scoffed.
"Lucky." Simona replied.
"girl, I'll give you a piece of my granola bar." Eric chuckled
As Eric divided a granola bar into pieces and handed them out among Simona, I politely declined his offer when he turned to me. The sight of the snack made my stomach grumble quietly, reminding me that I was hungry and could use something more substantial to eat. I wondered if there was anything else available at the cafeteria that wasn't as dry or boring as the turkey sandwich.
My gaze shifted to the food line, where I saw Faye walking towards a table with her tray of food. I watched her navigate around the cafeteria and stop near Lucifer's and Jax's table.
Simona and Eric noticed the direction of my gaze.
" 1... 2.... 3... " Eric counted under his breath, his eyes fixed on Faye and the boys. His expression turned into a smirk as he reached the number three, anticipating the moment when Faye would approach Lucifer and Jax to ask if she could sit with them. Sure enough, as if on cue, Faye made her way over to Lucifer and Jax with her tray of food, and we watched as she posed the question.
"yo, can I sit here." Faye asked them.
Faye waited anxiously for a response, Jax couldn't help but scoff and chuckle at her daring request. Meanwhile, Lucifer sat quietly, munching on his apple.
"when you do ever want to sit over here,"
"with the jocks." Jax glared.
We all held our breath and hastily averted our gazes as we noticed Faye looking in our direction. We didn't want her to know that we were listening in on her conversation with the boys.
"I don't have anywhere to sit." She said
"And what made you think it was okay for you to come over here and ask us?" Jax smirked.
"I was actually not asking you, I was asking Lucifer." She retorted.
Simona rolled her eyes.
we waited with bated breath, I watched as Lucifer suddenly choked on a piece of apple, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Of course you're asking him, you got some dick from him earlier— now you're obsess—
"shut the fuck up jax."
Lucifer's voice gruff.
"What!?" Eric said
"I knew it, the way they walked into the classroom together was so fucking obvious." Simona chuckled.
"1..2...3" Simona counted this time.
"Damn it's either a yes or a no, can I fucking sit with y'all?" Faye asked again but more annoyed.
"Yes,"
"Sul pavemento." Lucifer said
(translation: on the floor)
Faye threw her sandwich at Jax for laughing at Lucifer's reponse, the other jocks at the table were laughing as well.
I mean— you gotta love Lucifer." Eric said sarcastically.
"I don't know much Italian but he definitely said something crazy, that's the only time he switches his languages." Eric said
My thoughts continued to swirl with questions and curiosity about Lucifer and his interactions with Faye.
"What do you two know about them." I asked.
Both Eric and Simona exchanged knowing glances.
"Lucifer dirks, is one of the best football players here in trench highschool, he's a dickhead and an Italian cutie." Simona started off.
"In my opinion he's also a fuck boy." Eric added.
My expression contorted in disgust as Eric and Simona shared stories and insights about Lucifer. Their words seemed to paint him in a negative light.
"He fuck people, get them attached, and leave them." Simona said
"What?" I said shocked
"Unless you're the one for him of course." Eric added
"But don't get your hopes up, he's not the type to date, he may seem nice at first but he's really an asshole."
"Faye and him been a thing before, but he cheated on her." Simona said
"Or that's what people said." Eric added
"I don't know but I heard that he's good in bed." Eric said
Simona laughed at Eric's response.
"And he talks shit in Italian because most people won't be able to understand him, he's fluent in both English and Italian and Spanish, I heard." Simona continue.
"Faye can understand Italian but she was raised in America."
"Oh, so How do you guys know Faye?"
"Faye used to be our friend, but she did some weird sneaky shit behind our backs."
"She lied and said that I was selling drugs in the bathroom." Eric said
"And she told the principal that I was jerking someone off." Simona added.
"That's horrible." I said
"Yea she's weird as fuck, now she's boy crazy and obsess over someone one who doesn't even want her."
"But some people don't even claim her as a girl, because of the way she acts and dresses sometimes." Simona shrugged.
"If I was you, I would stay away from her and him, they'll most likely get you into some things."
"Oh yeah, especially Jax, he's Lucifer's puppy, he's a follower and a dick." Eric said
"Maybe there's a reason why they act like they do now ?" I shrugged innocently.
I attempted to see the positive aspects of each person we discussed, including both the nice and negative ones, Eric and Simona seemed rather skeptical of my optimism. It was almost as if they didn't believe that people could change or that there was anything good about anyone with any negative traits. Their attitudes made me wonder if they had given up on people altogether or if they had been burned in the past by those who had hurt them.
"new girl you got a heart for sure, but we're telling you that these people are not your friends— so just stay away for your sake." Eric said.
The bell shrilled overhead, bringing our lunch period to an end. Eric and Simona got up quickly, their trays empty, while mine remained filled with untouched food. I hadn't been able to stomach a single bite.
Eric turned to me with a friendly smile, "It was great talking to you, new girl - or should I say Dani?" he said with a chuckle.
"Catch you later," he added, waving goodbye before leaving the cafeteria.
