𝟎𝟎𝟏. the hydra soldier project

𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐘𝐃𝐑𝐀, you had to learn that you were not a person. That went for anyone. There, you were a machine, an object, a subject, an animal. You were anything but a person. You had to learn that quickly, if you didn't, you paid the consequences.

She's been there for two months. Learning the ropes, James has been teaching her everything you need to know. Fighting, Russian, everything.

Cecelia's first two months were probably the first two most miserable months of her life. She received several beatings and punishments. Every day there was a new bruise, or a new cut to clean.

It was surprising the little girl was still alive. But, it was commanded she stayed alive. The man who commanded that was named Alexander Pierce, leader of the organization. He made the calls, and the choices, he did everything.

He was the one that decided that the little girl's life would be ruined...

Well, kind of. He was the reason Cecelia's life was being ruined. He knew her parents, Marshal and Adeline. They worked for him. They didn't have much. They lived in a shitty motel with their daughter. They barely had the money to put food on her plate. Hydra wasn't exactly a place that paid well, but it was some kind of income.

Alexander knew they struggled financially, so, he had a proposition to the couple. That proposition was to basically sell their daughter...

Before you think they're monsters, there's a reason they did it.

Alexander Pierce was many things. A leader, a genius, but mainly, a master manipulator. So, that's what he did to poor Marshall and Adeline Tucker, he manipulated them. Some can say it is one of his greatest talents.

Alexander needed something. He needed an asset. The asset wasn't for him but for The Winter Soldier. He needed a blank canvas to create, and that canvas was little Cecelia Tucker. The big picture was her being The Winter Soldier's asset, his sidekick, if you may.

This sidekick would be part of something called The Hydra Soldier Project. An interesting name. They needed more soldiers, and so if that soldier should be a little girl, so be it.

So, he told the Tuckers he could help. They would get thousands of dollars in exchange for their daughter. They said a couple of months out of the year with her, then she goes right back home to them.

Well, that couldn't be further from the truth.

The night that Cecelia was supposed to leave, their Motel room was broken into. Adeline and Marshall were brutally killed, and Cecelia was taken from home.

Cecelia was no longer a Tucker. She was no longer a person. No longer a little girl. She was now a project, a subject. A blank canvas to be drawn on. Clay to be molded. Cecelia Tucker was to be made the perfect soldier.

That all started with her.

She sat in her cell with James like any other day. She had begun to talk more, James teaching her Russian words here and there so she could understand some things around her as there were a few Russian people in this Hydra base.

Her hair, which always used to be in her red bow, was in two tight braids in a low bun. They often hurt her head, but, she had unfortunately grown to get used to the constant ache.

She was sitting on the floor with her legs crisscrossed in front of her. James was sitting there, lying on his back, staring at the ceiling.

"James?" Her soft voice asked, he looked over at her, nodding his head for her to talk.

She was shy before asking. She looked down for a moment. "How come they want me to learn all of this?" She was referring to the fighting, the language, everything. He shrugged, but he did know the answer. "Do they want me to be like you?" He sat up, his steel eyes looking over at her.

That was the goal...

He nodded his head, dropping it down. His eyes stared at the floor. "Yeah," He let out a sigh.

It was silent again. Sometimes the two sat like that. But it was never a bad silence. It was comfortable.

That comfortable silence ended when the cell doors opened, and the two of you quickly stood up. That's what they normally did. Someone walks in, you stand up straight until they tell you what to do.

Three two guards walked into the room, one taking Cecelia, and two taking James. They usually had guns out when around James, as he was the Winter Soldier, who was a threat. Cecelia was a weak little kid...A fast one, but a weak one.

One held a gun at James as the other took Cecelia, dragging her out of the room by her arm. Her scratched, bruised, and bloodied arm. Tears filled in her eyes as she tried to stay back, but, she was weak. Her feet dragged against the floor as they pulled her away with ease.

"James!" She yelled, needing his help, pleading for it. She was dragged out of the room, the other holding his gun at him.

They did that because the first time she was taken from her cell, there were a lot of issues...James had grown to be erratic, and punches were thrown at him. Both Cecelia and James were punished...

That worry came back into her head. What was going to happen? Why were they taking her?

She was taken into the medical part of the facility. Inside was a man and Alexander Pierce. The other man gave Cecelia an uneasy feeling. He was just standing there, there was something off about him. He had nothing on his face, no expression. It was as if he looked through everyone. It worried her...but she remained to stay calm. She had to stay calm. Her eyes were slightly red and teary as she stood there.

Cecelia had a gun at the low of her back as she stood in the middle of the room. She stared up at the two men, trying to keep her expression straight. She didn't want to have a look of fear or any type of weakness on her face. Alexander would get angry...it's not good when he's angry. When he's mad, he does things. Bad things.

"This is Dr. Nagel." In Cecelia's few months at Hydra, she noticed that she was never addressed. She was never called by her name unless it was James. She liked him because of that. He treated her like a person.

Well, he treated her like a person when no one was around. When no one was around he treated her alike. When people were around, she was just another subject. Another soldier. She didn't like it when others were around them. She liked it just James and Cecelia. Not the Winter Soldier and his student, or soldier.

She'd been called soldier, or subject. Never Cecelia. It was almost as if they were taking her name and hiding it, never allowing her to have it again...They wanted her to be an entirely new person, not the same old little girl she's always been.

"He's going to be administering some tests..." Cecelia was picked up and placed onto a table.

She was strapped down by her arms and legs as the doctor walked over to her. She struggled at the straps around her arms and legs. He had a syringe in hand, flicking the top of it. He also cleaned her arm off, a certain area.

"No!" She yelled. Her small body could not kick her limbs out of the restraints on her. She whimpered as he brought the needle to her arm and they continued to clean her other arm for a second dosage.

She ended up passing out...
