I watched as Dad walked in front and placed his hands on the balcony that overlooked the museum. "Alright!" He yelled. "I need everybody to listen up!"
The museum exhibits just continued to fight, and I watched as my father tried to gain their attention but failed aimlessly. "Guys come on!" Dad yelled growing more desperate now. My glance shifted up to Ahkmenrah who looked back at me with worry.
"QQUUIEETTTT!" Roared the Easter Island Head, catching everyone's attention as the all slowly stopped fighting. "My dum dum want to speak." He said softly, as we all turned our heads in absolute shock towards where he was against the wall. "Thank you!" Dad said quietly.
Dad took a small breath and patted Ahkmenrah awkwardly on the back. "Now this here is King Ahkmenrah," Ahkmenrah nodded his head slowly. I almost thought his crown would fall of. "His tablet is what brings you to life every night and those old night watchmen, they stole it."
Dad's eyes scanned around the room. "Now we need to find those guards and get the tablet back and we need to do it before morning." Everyone was listening and paying attention now. Dad was giving one hell of a speech and it made me swell with pride.
Dad pointed in the direction of the civil war puppet faced guys. "Civil war guys head over to the planetarium wing."
Dad pointed to the metal Columbus, trying to speak but no words coming out. "My explorer friend, who's name escapes me." Dad held up his hand to think, Nick spoke up for the both of us, leaning over Ahkmenrah to whisper. "It's Columbus." Nick whispered. I let out a small chuckle.
"Right, Columbus. Right." I think it was finally sinking into his brain now. He just repeated himself. "I'm sorry there is no name plate. So Columbus, take them from Invertebrates to reptiles." Dad spoke with clear authority and it made me happy that he might of finally found his calling.
"Jed and Octavian their van is parked out back. Take care of it." I had taken notice that these two dudes were from the hall of miniatures.
Jed spoke up. "Woah, woah. No sir. I an't workin' with toga boy." They we're so small and it was so cute. The small Roman spoke up, "We romans work alone." I laughed as Jed's shotgun slammed onto Octavian's foot really hard.
"Ow!" Octavian cried out holding his foot in pain. I almost fell to the floor it was that funny. They bickered like an old married couple.
"That didn't hurt. Don't be a baby." Jed answered quickly. "YES IT DID!" Octavian complained still holding his foot. "Come on." Jed said folding his arms almost smug that he won the fight.
"Yes it did!" I noticed that I was gaining a glare from my father so I bit my lip trying to hold myself together. Then Octavian used his sword and slapped it against Jed's side. "That was much harder!" Jed yelled whining like a two year old.
"Guys come on!" My dad yelled. "Jed. Octavian. Take away the fact you are born two thousand of years apart. You guys aren't that much different.... You're both great leaders. You just want what is best for your people right?"
They nodded slowly looking away from one another and agreeing with my father. I smiled, I liked them both, they made me laugh.
"Civil war dudes. You guys are brothers for god's sake. You gotta stop fighting. North wins, slavery's bad. Sorry. I don't wanna burst your bubble. South you guys get almond brothers and Nantz car. So just chill." I noticed that Teddy smiled deeply, knowing that this was what he wanted out of my father. A leader.
"Look. Without this tablet this coming to life at night thing all goes away. Now I don't want to let that happen but I need your help. We can get this done but we have to do this together."
"So who is with me?" My dad deadpans. A chorus of cheers rang out and I smiled. "Who's with me!" Dad yelled louder. "Yeah!!!!" They the exhibits screamed in union. I found myself cheering too.
"Alright lets do this people." Nick and I exchanged glances, happy that our dad found a place where he belonged. Dad winked at the two of us and Nick and I smiled brightly.
"And animals and weird faceless puppet creatures! Let's go! Let's do it!" And with a smile I raced after Nick, Dad and Ahkemrah who had already set of at a sprint. I should actually start gym I think.

My non grippy tennis shoes gave no support as I slid on the floors as Dad came to a halt. I felt Ahkmenrah's hand gripped my arm gently, somehow he knew that I was going to fall and I was thankful for it. "Thank you!" I said with a nod. Ahkmenrah smiled gently.
"That's what I'm taking about! Good job gentlemen" Dad yelled with a grin.
I clapped supportingly. "Loving the teamwork!" I said as two of the old men were caught but what happened to their ring leader? Then we sprinted off down the hall, even running half way down the hall I could hear their happy hurrahs.
We ran to the storeroom, sprinting as fast as we could, hoping to catch the old thief.
Sadly we only met the very chilly night air and the snow that fell. "They've vanished. How will we find them?" Ahkmenrah spoke gently, his accent somehow thicker and it made my stomach flutter with butterflies.
I gapped at Dad with weary eyes, we had to somehow catch them. Ahkmenrah was counting on us, we couldn't let him down. Dad nodded quickly. "I know someone who can. Come on."
Then we raced down the halls at a sprint. Yep, I better start gym or something. I am so unfit. I lifted some sort of round heavy ball. I held it up shuffling over to dad, like a penguin. "Will this do?" I asked quietly.
Dad smiled, quickly taking it from me and running towards Sacagawea's exhibits. "Get out of the way!" Dad screamed barely giving the poor woman enough time to move before the glass shattered into pieces.
"Hey Sacagawea's or wea. Listen I need a favour, somebody stole Ahkmenrah's tablet do you think you can track the guys who took it?" She nodded gently and once again we set off to a run past the storeroom and put into the snow.
I stood next to Nick silently humming an odd Egyptian tune that suddenly came to me as Sacagawea kneeled in the snow reading the get away car's tracks. Sacagawea stood up from examining the car tracks. "He went east, but lost control and crashed."
"Your amazing." Dad said his hands in his coat pocket. "How can you tell?"
Sacagawea pointed in the distance and I could see the van had crashed. Although standing in the cold wasn't very nice and I had a nice warm Parker and scarf but what about Ahkmenrah? His robes were made for extreme heat. He must be so cold. I knew if I'd say something he'd protest and it would turn into an argument.
Nick huddled a little closer to me as we both watched Dad and Sacagawea uncover the mystery of the crashed van.
"He left the wagon and went back." Sacagawea said. "He went back?!" Dad muttered. I sighed thanks Captain Obvious. "Why would he go back?"
Dad looked back at the three of us for support and I shrugged my shoulders. "I'm not sure Dad. I've got nothing." Then I could hear the sound of in coming horses as there hoofs pounded on the snow. Wait a minute. Horses?
"GET OUT OF THE WAY!" The old ring leader called out. I watched helplessly as Sacagawea was in the way of the wagon. I knew I was far to away to push her out the way, but I set of at a run towards her but Ahkemrah caught my arm, and gently pulled me back.
I gave him a questioning look. I had never been so confused in my life, why would he do that? Did he think I was going to get hurt or something? Then just in time someone had ran towards her and pushed Sacagawea out of the way. Wow, this person is really heroic.
With an open mouth I saw Teddy lying in the snow, his body in half. A intense worry set in, how bad was he hurt? I knew I had to fight my fear of blood. He was my friend.
Sacagawea crawled over to her rescuer, "You saved me." She whispered softly. "You're worth saving my dear." Teddy said with a loving voice. I smiled, they were my OTP. I ship it!
"Ooh, that's a bit problematic!" Teddy said a little surprised. I followed after dad. "Teddy, oh man!" Dad muttered. "Larry don't worry, I'm made of wax!" Teddy said comfortingly.
"Oh thank god, I though there would be blood." I whispered knowing how rude I sounded I felt horrible but I apologised, "Sorry Teddy. I didn't mean it like that."
"It's alright dear child, I understand." Teddy said with a kind smile towards me. "I was once afraid of many things but I was able to overcome it."
Teddy turned to my father, very seriously. "Listen, dawn is approaching and half the museum is running a amok outside!"
"He's got my tablet." Ahkmenrah spoke up, I noticed he wasn't as formal as he used to be. I could see he was losing his patience. "It's okay Ahkmenrah, we'll get it back." I said with a smile.
Then a small remote control car flew in the air and landed. "At your service giantantor!" Jed spoke behind the steering wheel. "How can we be assistance?" Octavian spoke up too.
"Just give me a second guys." Dad muttered, Dad was in one of those real deep thinking times. For a moment we were all silent, then dad used his finger to indicate for Rexy to come. "Rexy, here boy."
Then dad looked down at Teddy, "Teddy, I need a horse." Teddy only had to say the words. "Do it man." Everything was getting so exciting, we were going to kick some ass.
