▬▬▬in which the plainest girl at school catches the attention of one of Hogwarts' most interesting residents.

JANE DOE IS ARGUABLY THE PLAINEST GIRL IN SCHOOL. She has never gotten detention, never been awarded for good grades or Quidditch excellence. She's toed the line since her first year and where has that gotten her? An acceptable-streak for the last five years and one good friend. Otherwise, her name was hardly spoken within the walls of Hogwarts. 

In a completely opposite situation, Harry Potter's name was known by everyone. Naturally, being 'The Chosen One' was sure to do that but it felt like there had never been a moment where someone hadn't at least known of him in the Wizarding World. There were, of course, those who made less of a big deal about his fame but he was already friends with those people and they were used to the trouble that came with him. The point still stands that he's hardly ever known a plain day in his life. 

When he's first introduced to Jane, he doesn't think much of her. How could another girl occupy his mind when all he could think about was someone as beautiful as Cho Chang? However, despite her assumed 'ordinariness,' there's something about the brunette that intrigues him. Maybe it's the fact that she's not afraid of Voldemort's name like most of the magical people or that she brushes off his popularity like it means nothing, but there's something about her that fascinates him to no end.

― 'Jane Doe' is a reference to the anonymous placeholder names when the true name is unknown. I thought it would be a funny allusion to her 'plainness.' (It's also inspired from the phrase 'Plain Jane,' hence the title.) 

― Jane is a muggle-born Ravenclaw and has only one really good friend, Lara, who puts up with her 'catchphrases' in a joking, exasperated sort of way. She gets along rather well with Luna because she looks up to how interesting Luna is.

― It's Luna who proposes that they go with her to the meeting in Hog's Head where the Golden Trio introduce the idea of the DA and they sign their names on the paper.

― Jane has always been just average at school and magic so she thinks the extra help will be useful. After one of the meetings, she stays behind and tells Harry that she believes what he saw last year and that Voldemort has returned. What surprises him is that she uses Voldemort's actual name and doesn't avoid saying it.

― From there he starts to pay more attention to her in the hallways and at meals (as they really hadn't interacted very much before now.)

― You can take it all the way through Deathly Hallows if you want and have Jane accept her plainness (because there's nothing wrong with being average! ) I'd prefer if she stays "ordinary" because there are too many OCs who find out they have superpowers/are special later on in the book. 

― Feel free to use any of the graphics provided when creating the book, but make sure you credit me as the creator in addition to the plot. Also, you don't have to use all the quotes provided in the 'description + epigraph' section but I wanted to make sure I got the right vibe across.
