"I don't want to do it anymore," Winston hears Samantha groan as another chicken head falls into the bucket.

"Sorry to bother you but it's kind of your job so...." the keeper shrugs his arms and grabs a box filled with pork along with some beef and lamb chops.

"Yeah I know but I'm feeling kinda sick today," she frowns, putting her palm against her forehead to make it more dramatic.

"You just want to see Minho and Gally, " Winston states as he puts on his gloves to grab the chicken breasts out of the blue bucket.

"I just want to see them," Sam agrees with him. The tan boy lets out a quiet chuckle.

„Look. Lunch is in about thirty minutes. You can either cut the chicken heads or go and deliver the meat to Fry and his crew. Got it?" he asks. The blonde haired girl nods her head with anticipation, grabbing the black, blood covered box from the keepers hands.

"See you at lunch, Wins!" she shouted and in quick pace she walked out the barn.

"Deliver the food to the cooks, deliver the food to the cooks," she mumbles to herself, making sure she remembers why she's going towards the mess hall.

"Oh? Oh hello kitty!" Sam squeals in happiness when she sees a black kitten fawning against her leg. She kneels down to play with it a bit and scratch it behind its ears.

"Weren't you supposed to get that delivered?" she hears a quiet, filled with amusement voice from behind. Sam shoots up straight to see Lily.

"Oh. It's you, boss. I'm so sorry, didn't hear you, but just look at her! Isn't she cute?" Sam starts ranting.

"I'll just take that from here. I'm supposed to go ahead to the mess hall to help Fry with the stew. Also, boss? That's a new nickname," she grins in amusement.

"Yeah. You're like a boss with Newt and Alby. But uh... see you around Shadow." Sam smiles and picks up the kitten.

As Lily started walking towards the cooking station Sam runs up to her.

"Here. Keep her. Shes like an animal version of you. Quiet and smart. That's what cats are aren't they?" Sam smiles and puts the black cat in the pocket of Lily's jacket.

Before the older girl could say anything, the younger one was already gone.

"Hello, Shank. You're back early. Missed me already? Woah, that shucken' rhymes," Sam pats Minho on the back, as she's in the deadheads near the glades pond.

"Nah, day off. Alby gave me one since... you know," the keeper of the Runners runs the back of his head in a nervous manner.

"Yeah..." she sits next to him. Sam was never very close to Newt, but she cared about people. And it hurt her guts to see her friends being in pain.

"So you've got a pretty chill day then huh?" she asked and picked up a flower.

"Yeah. Probably will go and see Newt you know" he smiled and looked at the newt on a rock next to them.

"It's adorable. Maybe Newt would want one? I mean they have similar names" the blondie smiles and picks it up.

"I'm concerned about you picking up random animals" the Asian looks at her with amusement.

"You're not the only one" she laughs and puts the lizard in the pocket of her cargo shorts.

"What the hell is that?" Rhodes asks when he sees the lizard in Sam's pocket.

"Oh, that? It's a little company pet for Newt, which I figured out he'd like one," she shrugs.

"Why am I not even surprised at this point?" he sighs and glances at the lizard who's been stealing some fruit pieces from Sam's plate.

"Cause I'm a slicer and the Med Hut like my second home." She snickers and sees Gally sitting next to her.

"Why is there a lizard on your plate?" he asks ruffling her hair a bit. She grins happily.

"This is a newt. A form of therapy pet for our second in command" his partner grins and pokes the stew around her plate with a fork.

"You got Newt... a newt." the keeper of the builders states and raises his eyebrows at her.

"Why yes" she agreed.

"You know what? Imma go and give it to him. Newt deserves to know his new friend" Sam stood up and took the lizard in her palm.

"Haiya, Brit," Newt looks up as he sees the slicer walk in with her palms closed.

"Good to see you too Shank," he smiles and sits up.

"What's in your palm?"

"A gift I thought you might like," she smiled brightly and showed him the adorable lizard.

"It's... oh... wow. Adorable." Newts heart flutters at the sight of the animal.

"I know right? It suits you. Enjoy your new buddy!" Sam smiles and walks out of the Med Hut, leaving the lizard with Newt. The animal quickly made its way to the top of the injured boy, kneading bread on his hair.
