Ragnarok !
CHAPTER FIVE
v. RAGNAROK !
THE GROUP DECIDED TO SPLIT UP TO ACCOMPLISH their escape quicker. Brunhilde and Freya went to free Korg and the other slaves from their cells while Loki, Thor and Sierra went to steal their escape ship.
Loki was currently preoccupied with typing in the codes for the alarm when Thor spoke up. Leaning against the wall, he eyed his brother. "Hey, so, listen. We should talk."
Loki gave him a disagreeing look, "I disagree. Open communication was never really our family's forte."
"Oh, you have no idea. Been quiet the revelation since we last spoke", Thor stated simply while the three stepped into the room.
They looked at the guards that were standing in the middle of the room, "Hello."
Thor and Loki immediately loaded their weapons and then started blasting every single guard off their feet.
Making their way through the room Loki began speaking, "Odin brought us together. It is almost poetic that his death should split us apart."
Sierra continued jogging after them in silence before they reached the elevator. "We might as well be strangers now. Two sons of the crown, set adrift", the dark haired God continued as he opened the elevator for them.
The doors opened and a guard came out, his weapon pointing at Loki. Thor immediately reacted and punched the guards arms, which sent him flying into the air. Sierra followed the guard with her eyes before he came down again, landing in front of her feet.
Sierra stepped over him and was the first to enter the elevator. Thor raised his eyebrows at his brother, while he followed Sierra into the elevator. "Thought you didn't wanna talk about it."
Loki raised his finger, "Here's the thing." The doors closed behind them and Loki continued, "I'm probably better off staying here at Sakaar."
Thor nodded in approval, "That's exactly what I was thinking." Loki seemed surprised as he looked at his brother, "Did you just agree with me?"
"Come on, this place it's perfect for you. It's savage, chaotic, lawless- brother, you're gonna do great here", Thor told Loki honest, eyeing him from the corner of his eye.
Loki was suddenly unusually quiet and Sierra watched him closely. His face expression had changed into one of slight disappointment, while he stared straight ahead. "Do you truly think so little of me?"
Thor's head suddenly snapped towards his older brother, who met his gaze, "Loki, I thought the world of you. I thought we were gonna fight side by side forever. But at the end of the day you're you and I'm me. I don't know, maybe there's still good in you. But let's be honest, our paths diverged a long time ago."
And that was the first time Sierra saw real emotion appeare on Loki's face since she had met him again. "It's probably for the best if we never see each other again", the black haired God stated.
"Well, that's what you always wanted", Thor agreed with him while he clapped Loki onto the back, a sad smile playing on his lips. Loki nodded and there was a short silence between them.
Sierra felt a bit uncomfortable witnessing this scene, but on the other side, she felt like they had probably forgotten that she was even with them in the elevator.
"Hey, let's do get help!", Thor suddenly proposed, the excitement could be heard in his voice. Loki frowned, "What?"
"Get help", Thor repeated and Loki didn't seeem amused. "No."
"Come on, you love it!", the blond man exclaimed while Loki shook his head. "I hate it."
"It's great. It works every time."
Loki's face expression was blank, "It's humiliating." Thor raised his eyebrows at him, "Do you have a better plan?"
"No."
"We're doing it."
"We're not doing get help."
A minute later Loki and Thor had their arms wrapped around each other and the elevator doors opened. The two immediately rsuhed out if the elevator, "Get help! Please!"
Thor and Loki stepped into the room and approached the guards, "My brother! He's dying! Get help! Help him!"
The guard approached them, but Thor suddenly grabbed Loki's arm and threw him at the guards, knocking them out in the process.
Sierra then followed after them, shaking her head to herself as she watched the two.
Thor smiled amused, "A classic." Loki stood up, groaning as he dusted off his cloths. "Still hate it. It's humiliating."
"For me, it's not", Thor stated and Sierra rolled her eyes at them once more. "Now, which one's the ship she told us to get?", she questioned them curiously as she placed her hands in her hips.
Loki pointed at the ship in the middle, "The Commodore." The three walked towards it, when Sierra suddenly saw a small green light emerging from Loki's body. The blond immediately felt the feeling of disappointment rising in her heart. They had already suspected that Loki would try and trick them, but she was disappointet to see that she had been right.
"Though I feel it won't make much of a difference", Loki spoke and Thor sighed deeply, facing him. "Oh, Loki."
Sierra and Thor then turned to Loki, who was standing by the control Paddel. "I know I've betrayed you many times before but this time it's truly nothing personal. The reward for your capture will set me up nicely."
"Never one for sentiment, were you?", Thor questioned him, a small smile on his face. "Easier to let it burn", Loki stated at him and Thor gave Sierra a nodd. The blond nodded back at him before she held up the control of the electricity chip.
Thor then gazed back at his brother, "I agree." Sierra didn't waste any time before she turned the chip on.
Loki had a surprised look plastered on his face before the electricity went through his entire body and sent him to the floor.
The two approached Loki, Thor scrunched his face, "Oh, that looks painful, doesn't it, Sierra?" The blond woman nodded as she smiled satisfied, "Oh, I hope it is."
Thor eyed his brother, a pity full look on his face, "Oh, dear brother, you're becoming predictable. I trust you, you betray me. Round and round in circles we go. See Loki, life is about, it's about growth. It's about change. But you seem to just wanna stay the same. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you'll always be the God of Mischief- but you could be more. So, anyways, I've got places to be. Good luck."
Thor stood up and Sierra gave Loki one last look, "I'll just put this over there for you." She held up the control and threw it far away from Loki before she followed Thor into the Commodore.
"Everything alright?", Thor questioned the woman as they say down. Sierra sighed deeply before she looked at him, "I expected nothing else from him."
Thor didn't say anything before he faced the wheel. "All right, I can figure this out. It's just another spaceship", he stated before he started the engines and before Sierra could say anything they were already on their way over to the Gateway.
They had just exit the hangar when a ship immediately started pursuing them. Their ship was hit, but Thor managed to avoid most of the attacks.
The God flew the ship through the large buildings, when their pursuer was suddenly shot out of the air. Sierra frowned as she was searching for the cause of their pursuers death and spotted Brunhilde, Bruce and Freya behind them in another ship.
Freya smirked at the woman besides her, "Good shot!" Brunhilde gave her a nodd and a smile, "Thanks."
The Valkyrie leaned forward and pressed a button, "Open the doors."
Freya watched as the doors of Thor's ship opened and suddenly Brunhilde looked over at Bruce, "I hope that you're tougher than you look!"
Bruce frowned at her, "Why?" The Valkyrie didn't answer him, before she suddenly catapulted him out of the ship, into Thor's, who flew right above them.
Freya was the next to climb out of the ship and jumped into Thor's. The brunette had just landed when another ship started firing at them.
"Shouldn't we be shooting back!?", Bruce shouted at the God, who steered the ship. "Yes, we should!"
"Where are the weapons on this ship?", Thor questioned and Brunhilde's voice spoke up once more. "There aren't any! It's a leisure vessel! Grandmaster uses it for his good times, orgies and stuff!"
Bruce immediately frowned deeply, "Did she just say the Grandmaster uses it for orgies?" Thor nodded without looking at him, "Yeah. Don't touch anything."
Their chase continued while Freya and Bruce joined Sierra and Thor at the front. The four looked out of the large window plane, when they saw how Brunhilde's ship exploded into pieces.
"Noo!"
They all immediately started shouting in frustration but then Brunhilde suddenly landed on their ship. Looking at her, Thor exclaimed, "Get inside!"
"In a minute!", the brunette shouted at them before she climbed onto the roof of the ship, disappearing.
"I should probably go help", Thor realized as he motioned for Sierra to come over. "Here take the wheel."
Sierra sat down in his chair and took the wheel into her hands. The blond gave her cousin a questioning look, "Aren't you gonna help?"
Freya had a light smirk on her face, "I'm gonna let her have her fun."
They were now near the Gateway and the servant of the Grandmaster was close behind them, still firing. Bruce sat besides Sierra, his nerves slowly leaving him. "Here just be a gun. This looks like a gun!"
The brunette man pressed a big round button, and suddenly birthday music started playing while colorful light's flickered around.
Freya's eyes widened while she saw that their ship was firing fireworks at their pursuer. They were distracting the Grandmasters servent and caused her to fly into a large stone pillar.
A smile appeared on Freya's lips while she faced the man, "Bruce, you did it!"
The man looked at her in confusion, "I did it?" Freya nodded at him, "Yeah, you did it!"
Thor and Brunhilde suddenly jumped into the ship and Sierra peeked over her shoulder at them, "We're coming up on the Devil's anus!"
"Here, let me take over for you", the Valkyrie told the blond Goddess, who nodded her head and handed over the steering wheel.
The ride through the Gateway was anything but comfortable and a few times Sierra thought that they would never reach Asgard, but in the end Brunhilde had actually managed to fly them through.
All of them were unconscious when they arrived, but they were alive.
Freya blinked a few times, when she saw Asgard from afar. All the feelings coming to her at once she felt pretty overwhelmed, but excited.
"I never thought I'd be back here", the Valkyrie stated while they approached the city.
Bruce stepped into the middle and gazed out of the ship, taking the sighed of the large palace and the city in. "I thought it'd be a lot nicer. I mean, not that it's not nice. It's just- it's on fire."
Freya chose to ignore the man's comments, he didn't knew what he was talking about anyways.
"Here, up here in the mountains. Heat signatures. People clustered together. She's coming for them", the Valkyrie stated while she pointed at their hologram of Asgard.
"Okay, drop me off at the palace", Thor stated simple as Freya immediately stepped in. "And get yourself killed? I don't think so."
Thor turned to hold eye contact with Freya, "The people trapped down there are all that matters. While I'm dealing with Hela, I need you four to help get everyone off Asgard."
"How the hell are we supposed to do that?", Bruce exclaimed as he gave Thor a questioning look. "I have a man on the ground", the God stated while he stared straight ahead.
Freya gave him a dark look as Thor handed Brunhilde a large gun onto the ship. "Now the ship has a gun", he smiled at them.
"We'll take it from here", the Valkyrie told him as she stood up, looking at the man.
"I found this in the armory", he told her as he handed Brunhilde the uniform of the Valkyries.
His gaze then searched and found Freya's gaze, "Good luck." He turned to leave before Freya called after him, "Thor! Don't die!" He gave her one last look, nodding his head at her.
The ship started levitating into the air while the two held eye contact and Freya stepped back, further into the ship, releasing a deep breath.
WHEN THEY HAD FINALLY REACHED THE BIFROST, Brunhilde immediately fired at the large wolf that made it's way towards the Asgardians, which were trapped. Hitting it with a blast she made it stop in it's tracks, but after a moment it continued.
"This stupid dog won't die!", the Valkyrie exclaimed frustrated while she exchange an annoyed look with Freya.
The brunette let out a deep sighed before Bruce suddenly joined them by the opened doors. "Everything's gonna be all right now. I got this. You wanted to know who I am?"
Brunhilde frowned at him confused, "What the hell are you talking about?" Bruce peeked out of the ship, before answering her, "You'll see!"
There was a moment of silence before he suddenly jumped out of the ship. Brunhilde's eyes widened in shock, but Freya just waved her off, "He's going to be okay."
The two watched him fly through the air, but nothing happened and after a moment he hit the Bifrost making the dog stop in it's track once more. It smelled on him for a second but after, it continued his attack on the Asgardians.
Freya quickly grabbed her sword from the back of the ship and made her way over to the doors, ready to jump out. But out of nowhere Bruce suddenly transformed into the Hulk and yanked the dog away from the people.
Brunhilde had a disbelieving look on her face before she joined Sierra in the front. The two exchange a look and decided to make a emergency landing on the other end of the Bifrost.
Freya and Sierra had just climbed out when they saw Loki, who appeared out of the mist, standing on the edge of a gigantic ship. He looked down at the people, with opened arms, "Your savior is here!"
He then guided the Asgardians inside the ship before he joined the fight.
Sierra and Freya made their way to the front, where the fight was taking place, when suddenly a large lightning hit the Palace.
Freya's eyes widened and a large smile made it's way onto her face as she saw how Thor landed on the Bifrost not far away from them.
The lightning was covering his entired body and when Freya's eyes wandered to his face she saw with shock that the God had lost an eye during his fight. But his remaining eye, was shining light blue.
The man didn't waste time and immediately fought his way through Hela's soliders, destroying one after the other.
Freya had the smile still on her face as she immediately joined the fight, killing one solider after the other.
"You're late", Thor stated as he came face to face with Loki, who gazed at his brother with raised eyebrows. "You lost an eye."
"This isn't over", Sierra stated from behind them as she pointed at Hela. The Goddess was approaching them slowly and the five were watching her.
"I think we should disband the Revengers", Thor mumbled to Brunhilde, who nodded in agreement.
"Hit her with a lightning blast", Loki commanded his little brother demanding, who gave him a disbelieving look. "I just hit her with the biggest lightning blast in the history of lightning. It did nothing."
Freya sighed deeply as she tightened her grip on her sword, "We just need to hold her off till everyone's on board."
Thor didn't make eye contact with them while he spoke, "It won't end there. The longer Hela's on Asgard, the more powerful she grows. She'll hunt us down. We need to stop her here and now."
The Valkyrie besides him seemed clueless, "So what do we do?" Loki's head immediately snapped towards Thor, "I'm not doing get help."
Thor ignored his brothers statement and stepped forward. "Asgard is not a place, it's a people." He then turned to the dark haired man, "Loki, this was never about stopping Ragnarok. This was about causing Ragnarok. Sutur's crown, the vault. It's the only way."
"Bold move, brother", Loki stated as he gave his brother a unsure look. "Even for me." He then quickly turned and made his way over to the ship, followed by Sierra.
Thor's gaze immediately went to Freya, "Shall we?" The Goddess gave him a nodd, "After you."
Thor then immediately attacked his sister and Freya joined in, followed by the Valkyrie. They all gave their everything to take Hela's down, but she blocked their attacks everytime.
Meanwhile Sierra sat besides Loki inside the ship of the Grandmaster. "This is madness!", Loki stated while he was flying the ship towards the palace. His gaze wandered towards her, "You shouldn't be here."
"I'm here to make sure you don't do anything stupid", Sierra stated as she gave him a dark look.
The two soon landed and Sierra immediately made her way through the hall of artefacts. Grabbing Sutur's crown she made her way through the hall, followed by Loki.
The blond felt Loki's presence besides her and the two made their way over to the eternal flame.
Loki stood in front of the burning crown, "With the Eternal flame you are reborn. The crown stared moving and the fire grew.
Sierra grabbed Loki's arm in horror as the two took a couple of steps back. "Alright, let's get out of her", the blond practically begged him before they hurried back to their ship.
At the same time Freya deflected one of Hela's attacks and tried to slice the woman's head off. But as she wanted to swing her sword at the Goddess, Hela deflected her sword attack and grabbed her by the throat.
Throwing her backwards Hela's attention was suddenly caught by Thor.
"Hela! Enough! You want Asgard! It's yours!" Hela turned to face him, a arrogant smirk plastered on her face. "Whatever game you're playing, it won't work. You can't defeat me."
"No, I know. But he can", Thor stated while he pointed at the Palace, which was now exploding into pieces while Sutur broke free.
Hela stepped back and her eyes widened in fear, "No!"
Brunhilde took this opportunity immediately and quickly impaled the woman with her sword.
Thor than hit her with a lightning and the Bifrost broke as a result of the energy surge, dragging her with it into the waves.
"Tremble before me, Asgard! I am your reckoning!", Sutur screamed while he started destroying the rest of Asgard a remainings.
Freya gave Thor a smile, while she slowly took his hand in hers. "The people of Asgard are safe. That's all that matters. You did it."
Thor gave her hand a squeeze as they watched Sutur, "We're fulfilling the prophecy." Freya rose her eyebrows as she sighed in defeat, "I hate it."
"So do I, but we have no choice. Sutur destroys Asgard he destroys Hela, so that our people may live. But we need to let him finish his job, otherwise-" Thor stopped in the middle of his sentence as he spotted Hulk attacking Sutur. "Hulk, stop you moron!"
Sutur grabbed Hulk and threw him in front of Thor's and Freya's feet. "Hulk, stop! For once in your life, don't smash!"
Hulk seemed confused as he opened his arms and shrugged, "Big monster!"
"Let's go!", Brunhilde exclaimed before Hulk run, grabbed all of them and jumped into the ship which brought them away from Asgard.
Everyone was standing by the large window plane, watching as Sutur rammed his sword into Asgards ground.
"The damage is not too bad. As long as the foundations are still strong we can rebuild this place. It will become a haven for all people and alien's of the universe", Korg stated before Asgard suddenly exploded. There was silence before he spoke again, "Now those foundations are gone. Sorry."
Freya placed a hand reassuring on Thor's shoulder. The man released a deep sighed, doubting his decision, "What have I done?"
"You saved us from extinction. Asgard is not a place it's a people", Heimdall told him while the two exchange long lasting look.
