XI. Oliver Wood Pt. 1

The One with Possession

E/C = Eye Colour

It's your fourth year in the house of the noble Godric Gryffindor. Last years, you had lived in the shadows. Now, you want to be seen, having friends and so.
Once arrived at King's Cross station - platform 9 3/4 - you didn't recognise these people. 'That's strange,' you think, boarding the Train.
You sit in a random compartment, alone. Someone coughs to catch your attention. "Hey," a boy's voice says. You look up to see a quite tall boy, brown hair with brown eyes. You smile warmly, "hey."
"May I sit here? The other compartments are full," he asks laughing nervously. "Yeah, sure."

"You are mine and mine only," a strange voice was heard, stinging in your head. "Did you hear that?" you ask the boy, who's name you don't know. "No, why?" "Oh, nothing. Probably imagined it."
"I'm Oliver Wood, fourth year Gryffindor. Captain of the Quidditch team," he introduces himself. "Y/N L/N, fourth year Gryffindor," you smile, shaking his hand.
Your introduction causing some confusion. "Fourth year? I can't remember seeing you from these last years."

In the Great Hall you sat next to Oliver. You look at the staff table, seeing that several Professors are looking at you. Professor Dumbledore is one of them, a has a slight confused look on his face. Then you caught Professor McGonagall's look - shocked.
You became uncomfortable by the all the starring looks. "Oliver," you whispers, causing Oliver to turn to you. "Yes," he whispers back, his head close to you. "Why are all those Professors starring at me?"
Your cheeks became even more red when you felt a hand, holding yours. "Oliver, what are you doing?" you shriek softly. "I saw how uncomfortable you were. The next thing you knew, you felt a sharp pain in your head.

You look up, seeing that you aren't in the Great Hall. Someone slams you to a wall, towering over you. Angst written all over your face.
"Let's make this clear, you are mine and mine alone," a cold voice speaks. You look up, to see emerald eyes. Brown curls. When he saw your scared eyes, his gaze softened. Eyes turned back, chocolate brown now.
You were shaking, not able to move.

You open your eyes, to see Oliver, Professor Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and many students. "Give her some air!" Oliver commands.
"What - what happened?" you ask, your voice trembling. "Take her to my office," you hear Professor Dumbledore whispering to McGonagall. She nods and turns to me.
"Come," she says with a gentle smile. She gave me her hand to stand up. Now I see all eyes on me. Oliver wanted to walk with us, but McGonagall stopped him. "No, Wood. Not now," she says. "It's - it's okay," you say - allowing Oliver to walk with us.

"Sherbet Lemon," Professor McGonagall says to a stone gargoyle. The gargoyle moves out of the way - revealing a staircase.
You arrived at a beautiful room. Minutes later, Professor Dumbledore came into the room. Surprised when he saw Oliver. "Mr. Wood, what are you doing here?" "I - er - I came along with Y/N. But I'll leave," he apologises. "No need for that," you say, causing all heads turn to you.
You show a small smile, which is returned by everyone.

"Professor Dumbledore? What's happening to me?" you ask, clearly hearing the angst in your voice.
He sighs. "Y/N, the last time I saw you was sixty years ago," he breathes - waiting to your response. He looks at his two pupils. Shock written all over your faces.
"How... How did that happen?" you ask - your voice trembling. Oliver stalks closer to put an arm around you. He felt you trembling under his arm, causing him to feel more concerned than he already was.

"What did you see?" Professor Dumbledore - leaving Oliver and McGonagall confused. You look at the headmaster. "I... I was in some sort of dungeon. Someone slammed me to a wall," you say - feeling Oliver tensing.
"He told me that I'm his and his only." Professor Dumbledore's gaze pales. "What does that mean, Albus?" Professor McGonagall asks to break the silence.
"I'm not sure, yet," he says, but somehow you have the feeling that he knows what's going on. "Tell him that he's a liar," the voice says, trying to take over your mind. "I know he is, I know that he knows that I'm controlling you."

"Oliver," you breath heavily - trying not to be taken over. "Yes?" he asks concerned. "Go away," you say - your voice darker as usual - and look at Oliver.
He sees your eyes flicker between your E/C and Emerald Green. "No," he states and stays close to you.
You look at Dumbledore, who is stalking closer. "Y/N, don't listen to him," he says calmly. You screamed and the voice disappeared in your voice - who knows for how long?
You collapse on the floor, exhausted. Oliver knelt next to you, took you in his arms. "Extremely brave of you, Y/N," Oliver whispers. Tears were falling, not be able to stop.

A few days later, you found yourself in common room - at 3AM. Not able to sleep. You look at the fire, when you feel the couch sinking in by someone's weight.
Your heartbeat increases when you see who that person is. The person you grow fond of - in only three days. You gave him a little smile.
"Y/N, what are you doing here at this time of the night?" he sounds worried. You fake a smile, "I couldn't sleep," you simply reply, "and you, Oliver Wood. You should be asleep, the Quidditch game is at 12PM."
He smiles slightly, "yes. I went down to get some water, but then I saw you here." "Oliver," you say concerning. "You don't have to worry about me," you say.

"Don't have to worry about you? Bloody hell, Y/N? Someone is possessing your mind, how can I not be worried about you? I don't want to loose you, not now when I've grown fond of you," he rambles all in one - causing you to be silenced.
"You've grown fond of me?" you ask with a little voice when he's done rambling. "Did I really say that out loud?" he mumbles, avoiding your gaze. His cheeks are slight red.
"Yes, Oliver. You did," you say softly - pulling up his chin to look at him. "And I have grown fond of you too." heat rising. Oliver leans closer until his lips brushed your.
He pulls away to see your reaction. He got nervous when you didn't do anything. But then you smiled and leaned in back again.

Hours later you make your way to the Quidditch field - Gryffindor versus Ravenclaw.
"Ms. L/N," you hear behind you. You turn around to see the head of Gryffindor House. "Professor McGonagall," you smile. She smiles gently before speaking, "Professor Dumbledore wants you by his side. Just in case."
Stunned for a second, but gave in. "Of course, Professor." You make your way, alongside McGonagall, to the tribune. You walking to the teacher's tribune, causes many turned heads.
"Mind your own business!" McGonagall shouts, causing everyone to look away. "Thank you," you murmur, being grateful. "No problem," she says with her voice as soft as it can be.

During the Quidditch game, you sat between Dumbledore and McGonagall.
When a sharp pain shot through your head, you already know what was about to happen. "No," you managed to say before ending up in a chamber.

"Crucio!" the spell hit you, screaming in pain. When it stopped, you lied on the floor - tears falling down on the floor.
Then you see Tom, standing before you - his eyes are emerald green. He's enraged. "How dare to love him!" he yells. "I do not understand!" you yell back.
"Crucio!" He yells and the spell hits you - you're screaming in agony. "Don't you understand?!" he pants, "we met sixty years ago. I fell in love with you, but you denied to love me back. I was the one who put you asleep."

He yells and tears are streaming down his face. You laid there, unconscious. As soon as Tom notices this, he rushes to your side.
He has your numbness body in his hands. With his wand he heals the wounds he had caused. He was so angry, yet regretful that he hurt you.

He gave you a certain necklace. He hung it around your neck and disappeared. When he disappeared, you woke up. You see Oliver, professor Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall - looking all concerned. Professor Dumbledore carefully grabs the necklace - causing you to flinch in pain.

"How?" Dumbledore questions silently. "Albus, what is happening to Miss L/N?" He gestures to take a distance. You look at Oliver. "How did it go?" you whisper. He sighs, "we did win, but then I heard about you and it didn't feel that victorious, because something happened to you."
"I'm sorry," you murmel. "Hey, I don't care about the game. You are more important," Oliver says with a weak smile. "Are you okay Mr. Wood? I am more important than Quidditch?" you joke. He crunches his nose, "ha ha, very funny."

Professor Dumbledore came back with a parchment, Professor McGonagall looked rather concerned. Dumbledore didn't say anything, just gave you the parchment.

Don't think too much about what I'm going to tell you.

The necklace you have around your neck is a horcrux, which means that you drag a part of Voldemort along with you.

I need you to find Tom in the Chamber of Secrets. Asking for the Basilisk. He will show you and you need to grab a tooth and destroy the necklace,

Oliver reads the letter too - having the same expression as McGonagall. "I will do it," you say with a weak smile.

"The Entrance to the Chamber was at a snake-engraved sink tap on the Second Floor Girls' Lavatory," Professor Dumbledore had said.

You clenched the necklace in your hand. You spoke in parseltongue without noticing.
"Tom?" You say - no answer. "Tom?" You spoke a little louder. "Y/N?" Tom said - surprised to see you here. "What are you doing here?" he continues - stepping closer.
"I came to see you," you state - walking closer too. You wrap your arms around his neck - trying to gain his trust. He lays his arms around your waist - pulling you closer.

You are breathing each other's breath - so close. To gain his trust fully - you kiss him. On the lips. As shocked as he was, he responded.
He pulled back - admiration, confusion, and suspicion are in his eyes. "Why did you do that? You are in love with that brat," he spat. You quickly made up, "no. He broke up with me, I was too much of a burden." You managed to let a tear fall.

"I'm sorry, Y/N. I told you were only mine," Tom slightly smirks.
"May I see the Basilisk thing," you say - looking around, "I always wanted to see it." He nods and leads you to its bones.

"Here it is," he gestures. "I bet it was a beautiful creature," you say - taking off the necklace. "What are you doing?" Tom asks confused. You have him a warm smile. "You had put it around my neck, but I have never seen it clearly," you say.
You sit next to some bones - with the horcrux on the floor. Tom sits next to you - saying nothing. You pick up a random bone. "So, this was one of his poisonous teeth?" you ask - sounding impressed. Tom only nods.

"Tom?" You say - pulling his attention. "You seem a sweet guy, I'm sorry I didn't love you back. But you are too dangerous," you say lifting your arm with the Basilisk's tooth.
"Wait!" Tom desperately says. You did wait, which was a mistake. Tom blasted you away with a spell. You hit the stone wall - causing to groan in pain.
"How dare you, Y/N!" Tom yells - stalking closer. "How dare you to do this to me." Tears are rolling down his cheeks. "You let me no choice," he says without any emotion. "Tom wait!"

"Avada Kedrava!"

You wake up, only to see the concerned expression of Oliver. It was a dream. "Are you ready?" he asks. You nod - you are not ready, not even half ready.
Dumbledore gave you instructions and told that everything will be fine.

You went down to the Chamber.
"Tom?" You say - looking around. "Tom!" You say a little louder. "Y/N?" Tom sounds rather confused. "What are you doing here?"
"Remember when you succeeded to get me unconscious? I had to stay in the hospital wing, but I got bored. Everyone's having their classes, so I decided to come to you." "And that brat of a Gryffindor?" you need to conceal your temper for insulting Oliver.

"He broke up with me. Saying that I'm too much of a burden," you say - managing to let a tear roll. Tom slowly stalks closer - taking you in his arms. You bury your head in his chest - letting him believe it is real.
"Is there anything I can do?" he asks softly. "I am always interested in snakes since you had a Basilisk," you say with a little smile. Tom leads you to its bones. "Here she is."

"So, this is one of these poisonous teeth?" you ask - picking a tooth. Tom nods, "yes. That poison will kill you within a minute." It's now or never.

"Tom?" You ask - pulling his attention. "I wished I had loved you then, so I wouldn't be forced to do this." With that, you stab the necklace - which was around your neck - with the tooth.
Tom screams in agony - so do you. He slowly fades away, until he's completely gone. Slowly and well, you lose your consciousness. Your lifeless body fell on the ground. The destroyed necklace around your neck and the poisonous tooth next to you.

"My condolences, Mr. Wood. Life has taken its price for Y/N," Professor McGonagall says - her voice full of sorrow.

From heaven, Y/N looks at Oliver. You feel sorry for him, but you promised Dumbledore. You couldn't do this, so when you killed Tom, you killed yourself.
"Y/N?" a voice says. You turn around to see a familiar figure.

"Tom."
