VI. Sirius Black
The One with the Soulmate
Fifth-year in Hogwarts. In the House of the Lions with Lily Evans, Sirius Black, James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. The four boys call themselves the Marauders, only no one knows why.
Your best friend - Lily Evans - doesn't really like them, except Remus. She thinks he is the mature one of the four, and he is the other prefect of the Gryffindor house - besides her.
You weren't that close to the Marauder until the Sirius Black started to talk to you, in the Hogwarts Express. You were quite surprised when Sirius started talking to you.
Besides the fact that you are wizards, soulmates are also a thing. You haven't found yours yet, just like Lily, James, and Sirius. Remus's soulmate is a metamorphmagus, named Nymphadora Tonks. Peter has a Hufflepuff girl.
"Hey, Y/N! Come sit with us!" Sirius calls you, gesturing to come to sit at the table with the Marauders. You stop in hesitation because you and Lily are supposed to sit together. Only, you spot her sitting with Severus at the Slytherin table. You shrug and walk to the four boys.
When you sit next to Sirius, you hear the subject they are discussing. "Still haven't found your soulmate, have you?" you ask curiously when grabbing a piece of toast. "No," he sighs deeply.
"When do you even know you have found your soulmate?" you ask. "Well, it might have many reasons. You only don't know," he nervously laughs. "Well, I didn't get any wiser," you laugh.
You spend your free period at the library, editing your Transfiguration essay. Suddenly - for one second - you don't see your essay. You saw something else, only you didn't know what or how. It looked like a classroom.
You decided to finish your essay. If you find Lily, you have to talk to her. Your feet got all sleepy of the uncomfortable position you were in to. Cross-legged.
Meanwhile at DADA class; Sirius is spastically moving his feet. "Padfoot, what on earth are you doing?" James asks confused. "My feet got all sleepy. It is annoying," he groans.
During his class; he suddenly - for one second - sees something else than his horrible handwriting. "Are you okay, Paddy?" James asks a bit worried. Sirius nods, a bit dizzy.
After dinner, you have told Lily that you have to speak to her. You sat in the girl's dormitory, where no one could hear you.
"I had spent my free period at the library, editing my essay for Transfiguration," you start. Lily nods understanding. "Only, for one second I see something else than my essay," you say, waiting for Lily to nod.
"Wait what?" she asks confused, "You saw something else than your essay? What did you see?" "I cannot really tell. It was some sort of classroom, that's it."
"Maybe it has to do with the fact of having a soulmate, here at Hogwarts," Lily says, getting all excited.
Meanwhile; "so, you saw something else than your horrible handwriting?" Remus asks to be sure. "Yes," Sirius says.
Remus shrugs, "maybe your soulmate is here. At Hogwarts." "Well, I would be thrilled to meet her," Sirius says with a smile. "Me too," James says, "only, I don't know anything about her."
"When did you know it was Tonks?" James asks. Remus begins to smile by hearing Tonks's name. "Well, it went just like yours. Starting to look through each other's eyes. I did notice the same scars. Where I had a scar, she had." "How long did it take to see other?" Sirius asks. "A week," he laughs.
The next day wasn't anything special. You followed your classes, Sirius followed his classes. Did some talking during lunch and dinner. You sit with Lily in the library, finishing your potions essay. You look out of the window to see a full moon, you always admired space.
You fix your gaze back on your essay. Only, you didn't see your essay. You hear vague voices but can't place what they are saying. You see animals, one's jumping right at you. ''Y/N,'' you hear Lily saying, but you can't do anything. Everything became black.
Lily screeches when she sees you fainting. She ran through the school, trying to find a professor. She bumps into Professor McGonagall. ''Miss Evans, what are you doing?'' she asks sternly. ''No time, Professor. Y/N. Fainted. Library,'' Lily pants. The look on McGonagall's face changes within a second.
''Well, don't fool around here. Go,'' she says just like how McGonagall would say it. (Yep, best explanation ever! Lol). Lily nods and McGonagall follows the Gryffindor. Once they were in the library they notice that someone else is there. ''Severus,'' Professor McGonagall questions. ''She bleeds,'' he says. He picks you up and walks swiftly to the hospital wing.
''Miss Evans, what on earth has happened?'' Professor McGonagall asks confused. ''I... I don't know, I think it has to do with the soulmate thing,'' Lily explains. She doesn't respond, she only has this worried look on her face.
''Miss L/N will be alright,'' Madame Pomfrey says. ''May I go to her?'' Lily asks questioning. Madame Pomfrey doesn't look approving, but nods. Lily walks quickly to your bed. You lay on your side. ''Where was Y/N bleeding?'' Lily asks. ''On her back. I smelled some blood when I entered the library,'' Snape comments and shows his arms, which are covered in blood.
Lily is also worried about the soulmate. What has happened to him?
Meanwhile; ''Guys, I think we have to go back to the castle,'' Sirius says, trying to stop his wounds from bleeding. The boys agreed and went back to the dormitory. It was around 2 AM. Before Sirius could fall asleep, he saw something else than the dorm. He notices the hospital wing.
''Moony. Moony!'' Sirius whispers yell. ''What?'' he asks sleepily. ''I think my soulmate is in the hospital wing,'' Sirius says worriedly. ''Well, go to her then!'' Remus commands. Sirius nods and transforms in a black dog. He ran out of the dormitory, towards the hospital wing.
His heart is pounding into his chest, he's about to find out who his soulmate is. He gets scared off by the door, which got opened. He sees Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall walking out. Before the door closes, Sirius has managed to slip through.
He sees vague figures. He turns back into his human form. In his sight, he sees Lily and Y/N. His heart drops when he sees Y/N - probably his soulmate - laying there - in pain.
Y/N lays in the bed with Lily next to it. Her head resting on the bed, her hand in Y/N's hand. ''Lily,'' he whispers softly. Lily jolts awake, seeing Sirius narrows her eyes. ''What are you doing here?'' she asked as stern as McGonagall would be.
''I think I'm ... ,'' he mumbles so soft that Lily doesn't hear the last part. ''What?'' she asks impatiently. ''IthinkI'mhersoulmate,'' Sirius blurted loudly, it's a miracle you didn't wake up. ''Shh, you idiot. And you're her what?!'' ''Soulmate,'' he breathes. ''Prove it,'' she states stubbornly. She doesn't trust Sirius, especially because he's one of the Marauders.
''Have you seen Y/N her wounds?'' Sirius asks. Lily shakes her head. ''I swear, I have the same wounds as Y/N,'' Sirius says. ''But, why is Y/N in the hospital wing and you are standing here,'' Lily comments. ''I don't know, maybe because I knew what happened and Y/N only saw something vague. You have to believe me,'' he almost sounds begging.
''I don't know, Sirius. Then don't tell her, yet. Let her figure out,'' Lily suggests, he can tell that she is worried. As Sirius doesn't agree with her suggestion, he gives in unwillingly.
The next day you woke up, you tried to move, which gave you a sharp pain in the back. ''What the ...,'' you flinch. ''Ah, you're awake,'' Madame Pomfrey says and gives you this potion. ''I'll inform the Head of Gryffindor that you have woken up.'' then you were all alone in the hospital wing. You sit up straight - you had to for drinking the potion - which hurt so much.
''Good morning, Miss L/N,'' Professor McGonagall says when she walks into the wing. ''How are you feeling?'' "Bad, very bad." "Do you know what happened?" she asks.
You shake your head, "I only know that I saw something and then I woke up here." The look on McGonagall's face is quite worried. Then she walks to Madame Pomfrey, whispering something. "I'll inform Miss Evans that you are awake," she says with a soft look. Just as she wanted to walk away, you stopped her in her tracks. "Yes?" "Will you also inform Remus, James, and Sirius? Please?"
She cracks a small smile on her face, "of course."
The door closed and Madame Pomfrey came by. "You have to stay in bed for the day. I'm sure your friends will bring your homework," she says kindly and goes to her office. There you are - all alone - in the hospital wing.
You lay our your side, because your back hurt too much to lay on. You drift off in deep sleep.
You jolted awake hearing whispering. You open your eyes, seeing the three boys and Lily. "Y/N! How are you feeling?" Lily beams at you. "Wait - ow,-" you say while trying to sit up straight.
"I'm sorry, Y/N," Sirius says sadly. You look at him with a questioning look. Lily shot a deadly glare. "For being that injured," he completes his sentence awkwardly.
"Miss L/N has to rest! Two of you, away!" Madame Pomfrey snaps. James and Remus decides to walk off - with a grin on their faces. "I have to clean your wound," Madame Pomfrey says. You nod and turn - flinching - on your stomach. She lifts your blood-stained shirt.
Professors and students came and went. You had another vision in your soulmate's life. You saw two students - you thought it were Gryffindor - in probably the common room.
You have also noticed that Sirius has been acting strange this day. He stuttered, avoided your gaze or looked at you - in a kind of way - when you didn't 'look'. You have an urge to see Lily, right now.
"Y/N," you hear a voice. 'As she could hear me,' you chuckle slightly. "I think I know who my soulmate is," you say excited. Lily's face cleared, "tell me."
"I think it's Sirius," you say. "Yes, that's pretty serious. But who is it," she snorts, which causes you to giggle too. "Lily Evans!"
"There's one way to find out," you say, drawing your wand. "Don't worry, it will hurt for a second." You actually cut into your own flesh - a heart shape. "If Sirius has it, then I know," you say. Lily only laughs, "sometimes, Y/N."
Sirius was just having class when he felt something burning. He looks at his hand to see a heart shape - in his own flesh. Well, that was weird but he thinks that you know. "I think she knows," Sirius says to Remus. "How do you know?" he asks surprised. Sirius shows his hand and Remus understand, "oh, yeh she knows."
Sirius felt happy, he has found his soulmate. He's planning to visit you after dinner, or before dinner. Now, he has Herbology... his last period.
As soon as he was dismissed, he sort of ditched his friends to go to the hospital wing. His heart is pounding in his chest. He walks into the room, finding you sleeping. He didn't want to wake you up, and decided to visit you later.
You slipped out of bed, flinching. Your back hasn't healed properly. You transform into your animagus form, which is a husky. Walking outside, you smell other animals. The night was clear, full of starts and the full moon.
You see three animals. A werewolf, a stag, and a black dog. You sneaky stalk your way closer, only the dog must have smelled you. It attacked you to the ground, which made you howl in pain.
You lay on your side, then you notice something on the dog's paw. A heart shape. You show your paw, showing the dog the same pattern. The three animals are taken back. The dog walks to you, licking your muzzle gently.
You stand up, a bit difficult. The black dog gestures that you have to go back to the castle. You obliged and went back to the castle before Madame Pomfrey sees you're gone.
'Prongs... Isn't that James. Is he an animagus? And Moony, Remus! Padfoot, that must be Sirius,' you think I'm the way back.
You transform back - not without any pain - and lay in bed. Falling asleep within the second.
The next morning you open your eyes to see three boys, waiting for you to wake up. "Mrs. Padfoot," James snorts. You shot a glare at James. "Well, he's right," Sirius says, which draws your attention to him. He's smiling like an idiot.
He's showing you his hand, where the heart shape is carved in his hand. You show yours, smiling widely.
You grab him by his collar, pulling him in a kiss. It feels amazing. "Welcome by the Marauders, Mrs. Padfoot," Sirius smiles widely when he pulls back.
