47. Angourie Rice

Euh, hey guys. Today's a different story, I have a request from @paultiteuf360. So, today will be there a boy in the main story. As far as I know, only girls read this book. I'll do this her/his in this story.

I do hope you'll like it!

──── ────

Dusk has fallen over the city. You watched the sun go down and went to your bed with your back facing the door. You closed your eyes to pretend to be asleep. There you laid, waiting for the lady to check your room.
Once the door opened, you pretended to be asleep. The lady took a quick glance at you and closed the door. That gave you also the time, it was now 10 PM. You jumped out of bed to grab your backpack.

You open the closet door to see your tidy clothes and thus already ready to be packed. It wasn't a large backpack, so you had limited space. Along with the food and clothes, you spotted your mother's leather gloves. You starred at it for a moment, thinking if you should pack them or put them on.
These gloves reminded you of your mother, who had been wearing gloves since the day you were born. You've always liked the feeling of the gloves, only you didn't know why. Maybe because everyone you liked or loved, wore gloves. You sigh but decide to put on the gloves. You shivered shortly at the feeling and then smiled.

The lanterns were enlightening the streets and you saw no light from underneath your door. Here we go, you thought. After your mother had passed away, you were put in an orphanage. It was a lot for you to take in because all of a sudden you had no family and lived with tons of other children.
Blessing, while climbing out of the window, your room was on the ground floor. With a soft sound, you landed on the grass. Your heartbeat beating in your throat as you walk away from the orphanage.

The first meters, you ran. You had to make sure you were out of sight of the orphanage. Back in the orphanage, you pretended that you liked it there. That made the ladies think you were happy and happily answered your questions. They had shown you a map, to where you were and where New York was.
You've always wanted to go to New York, not only because of the big city. No, also because of this one actress you would be thrilled to meet; Angourie Rice. She had been playing in the Spiderman films, along with Tom Holland and Jacob Batalon.

You've spent hours walking and you were exhausted. However, your face lit up when you saw the large skyscrapers of New York City. Your eyes turned into big orbs and with a refilled tank you walked towards the large City.
How am I going to find her? This is impossible! You thought when you were walking among the people. Most of them looked at you weird or concerned. The sun started to rise and your eyes started to close.

One woman kneels to your height, but you are too tired to say something. All of the adrenaline of the night was gone. The woman couldn't leave you there in the big city and lifted you in her arms. You had your arms around her neck and your legs around her waist.
''Thank you, mummy,'' you mutter. The woman's eyes widened as she walked to her apartment. From these teeny words, she believed you were all on your own. She had tucked you in bed and decided to make you some food. The poor boy/girl must be hungry. Poor kid.

Your eyes fluttered open and you stretched out. You survey the room and scowl. Where am I? Speaking of the devil, a woman came in walking with a tray in her hands. ''Ah, you are awake,'' she says kindly. Her voice reached your ears and you knew that voice.
Your eyes widened as you looked at the woman. ''Y-you're... y-you're... A-angourie R-rice!'' you stammer. The girl chuckles and places the tray next to the bed. ''The one and only,'' she smiles proudly. ''I-I love y-your r-role in S-spiderman,'' you stutter like crazy. She lets out another chuckle, ''thank you so much. Who are you?''

''I-I am Y/N L/N.'' ''Hello Y/N,'' she smiles kindly, ''were you all alone?'' You nod shyly, ''yes. But don't send me back, please.'' You quickly add with a panicking expression. Angourie felt sorry for you, but send you a smile. ''Don't worry, it'll be our secret.''
''Have you seen all the movies or only the ones with Spiderman?'' Angourie asks curiously. You waited for your mouth to be empty before replying, ''I've watched them all.'' That genuinely surprises the girl, ''you have? Aren't you a little young to watch those movies?'' You shake your head, ''no. My mother and I used to watch together, but then,-'' your voice faded away and you examined the sudden interesting plate.
''Hey, don't worry. You don't have to tell if you don't want to.'' You shot an appreciating smile.

''Are you filming for a spiderman movie?'' You ask with hope in your voice. She giggles before nodding, ''I do, actually. It's the newest Spiderman film. Far From Home.'' Your eyes widen in excitement, ''today?!''
''Yes, if you want, I can take you with me.'' It felt like you've won the lottery. You were so happy that tears had been falling down your cheeks. ''T-that w-would b-be great. You are so sweet.'' You comment through your tears. ''Ah, don't cry,'' she says and wraps her arms around your neck.

You got changed and so did Angourie. You had put on a spiderman t-shirt, which your mother had gifted to you.
You wait in the living room, fiddling with your fingers. ''You ready to go?'' Her voice made you look up. You smile as she kneels down to your eye-height. She caresses your cheek and a shiver is sent down your spine.
''I-I'm sorry, I-I just love the feeling of gloves. My mother used to wear them,'' you ramble. ''I bet your mother was a lovely woman,'' she smiles, her hand still on your cheek. ''She always wore them for me. She knew I always like the feeling of it. It has such a smooth and soft texture,'' you said and paused, ''it sounds really weird, sorry.''
''It's not weird, it reminds you of your mother. Something you should never forget.'' She picks you up, just like your mother used to do, and carries you outside.

Angourie has been carrying you all the way to the set. You felt guilty and said you could walk on your own. She only smiled and stroked your back gently, "Don't worry. I'm strong enough."
"Good morning, Angourie." A male voice made Angourie smile. "Morning Tom," she smiles and puts you on your feet. "Hello," Tom smiles and squats down, "who may you be?" "I am Y/N L/N." He sends you a smile and ruffles your hair.
"I've found him/her on the streets of New York. I couldn't leave him/her behind." Tom nods his head in agreement, "I would have done that too, yeah."

"The kid already knows a lot of marvel," she says with amazement in her voice. Tom smiles, "he/she does?" You nod proudly, "Spider-Man is my favourite hero!" "Do you want a signature?" Tom asks, which makes you nod. "And one of you!" you smile adorably. Angourie smiles and feels enormously flattered.

"Angourie! Tom! Lovely to see you!" the producer beams, but then looks at you. "Who's this little kid?" ''This is Y/N L/N. I couldn't get a nanny, so I thought I bring him/her with me,'' Angourie says. ''Well, believe it or not, but I need a little kid on the set.'' The producer laughs nervously.
Angourie lifts you underneath your armpits and holds you close to her. ''Doesn't sound that amazing? You can see us working and have your own part in the film!'' She pads your cheek with her gloves and it makes you smile immediately. You nod, ''I'll do it.'' The producer was happy with your cooperation.

You could enter Angourie's cabin for make-up and clothes. ''How's your day?'' she asks with a giggle. You smiled broadway, ''it is so cool. I met you, and Tom. Now I'm here on set with you.'' Those feelings got a little overwhelming, causing some tears to roll. Angourie wipes them away with her glove covered hand.
''You remind me of my mother,'' you comment silently, ''she always wore gloves when she touched me. It gives me a feeling of home.'' Angourie sat there, smiling. ''I will wear them for you, any time you like.'' Your head shot up, ''you will do that?'' Angourie lets out another giggle and cups your cheek again, ''of course.''

''Do I have a family?'' Your voice trembles as you ask the question. ''I think you do,'' she smiles, feeling emotional as well. She smiles as she takes you in an embrace. ''I'll protect you,'' she whispers. ''Thank you,'' you sob.
''Can I put them on?'' you ask, staring at the gloves. She giggles and takes them off. A shiver sends down your spine when they are covering your teeny hands. You move your hands into fists to hear the satisfying sound of the material.

After months spending time with Angourie, you have grown close to her. You had told her about your upcoming birthday and she was planning something big. She was trying to convince her parents to adopt you so that you two are always together.
''Tomorrow is the big day,'' she smiles as she tucks you in. Of course, she was wearing her leather gloves. You smile widely, ''yes! I'll be seven then!'' She giggles at your response and kisses you on your head. ''Goodnight,'' she whispers and strokes your cheek. ''Goodnight.''

The next day, you were awoken by the scent of bacon. It's my birthday! My first birthday outside the orphanage! You thought happily. You jumped out of bed and met Angourie in the kitchen. You didn't only meet Angourie, but also two elder people.
''Goodmorning,'' you said in a polite manner, ''I'm Y/N L/N.'' The two chuckle at your manner, but introduce themselves. They were the parents of Angourie Rice. You turned to her with questioning marks circling above your head.
Angourie turns off the fire and turns to you. ''I think it's time for your birthday present.'' She glanced at her parents, who nodded. Angourie gives you a large envelope.

You curiously open the envelope, pulling out several papers. You read the one, who is laying on top. You didn't understand much of it, but you thought it said something about adoption. You glance up from the papers to Angourie and the parents. ''Are you adopting me?''
They both rise onto their feet and walk towards you. They squat to your level with Angourie behind them. They had a wide smile on their faces, ''yes. Angourie told us all about it and convinced us to adopt you. And we are happy to adopt you as our son and Angourie as a sister.''

Both took you in an embrace and you couldn't stop the tears from flowing. ''I-it's happening?'' Your voice trembled like crazy. Angourie smiles through her tears as she nods, ''yes. It's really happening.''
She was the next one to lift you and hug you. She caresses your cheek with her gloved hand and rests her head against yours. ''You'll be my little brother/sister,'' she smiles. She sits down with you on her lap, her hands holding yours.

''This is already the best birthday I've ever had,'' you beam happily. ''Happy Birthday, little brother/sister,'' she says before attacking you in tickles.
