42. Stephen Strange
If you had read my announcement (I won't blame if you didn't) you read about my writer's block. I think I'm getting back on track, I hope.
At least I had enough inspiration for this story! Anyways, I won't bother. Enjoy! <3

"Focus Y/N!" The Ancient One emphasizes you to focus before you accident yourself. As her first apprentice, your partner was always her. 'This is impossible,' you thought. She is fast, smart, her reflexes are optimal.
"This is impossible, when will I ever be able to beat you?" you pant. The corner of her mouth quirked up, "one day you will succeed. Now you are only getting stronger. You have made progress."
Her words calmed your nerves and suddenly a wave of embarrassment overwhelmed you.
"I'm sorry," you apologize. "No need for, you are in a learning position. You have a great future, Y/N," she says, walking closer. You send her a small smile, but something in you said something is going to happen.
In a nanosecond, you block her sudden attack. "Never let down your guard," you smirk. "Excellent." You noticed the twinkle in her eyes.
Years after practice, you'd become better and better. The Ancient One has been watching you, seeing you grow up. With her thin lips, she cracked a smile. 'She is like a daughter I never had.'
You became the proud owner of the sanctum in New York. 177A Bleecker Street. It was quiet and peaceful for years. The Ancient One visits multiple times to drink a cup of tea.
One day you wanted to show her something huge. It was something that came to you.
The Ancient One came visiting the New York sanctum. She spots her old apprentice studying in the library. Her sapphire blue tunic matched with her blue eyes.
You turned around by hearing a familiar sound. You never heard her approaching, but then you started to observe her movement.
"Mother!" you say but shut your mouth immediately. Your eyes widen in shock. The Ancient One was slightly taken off guard, but you didn't notice. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean,-" you say, but you are cut off by the Ancient One.
"It's okay. You are like a daughter to me," she says with a smile. Your heartbeat slowed down. "Really? Wow, I... I don't know what to say."
"I have something to tell you," she starts. Then it pops up in your head. "Oh, I wanted to tell you something too, that's why you are actually here," you say getting excited. "Ahum, continue," you compose yourself.
"I want you to train a certain Stephen Strange," she says - her expression as calm as ever. Your eyes widen, "you want me to teach somebody what you taught me?" She smiles and nods.
"But that means I have to leave the sanctum," you immediately say after. "The sanctum is still yours, Mordo will take your place for a while." A huge smile graced your lips, "that would be marvellous."
"You wanted to show me something?" she inquires. Deep down she knows it is a relic. "Oh yes," you snap back in reality. You grab your relic and show it to her. "The bow and arrow of Apollon," she says with admiring in her voice.
"May it help you in great times."
That same day you left the New York sanctum. The first step - in Kamar-Taj - felt like home. You were back home.
You see a broken man. His clothes are dirty, his hair is untended. You walk closer, "you must be Stephen Strange." The man looks up and your eyes locked.
You hold out your hand. He looks suspicious but does take your hand. You pulled him closer with the other hand on his forehead - sending him out of his body.
"Lesson number one has started," you said. The Ancient One chuckled and left the room.
"Well done, Stephen!'' you say when he managed to make a portal. He smiles at you like a small kid who receives candy. You know how frustrating it was to create a portal. ''Try to create the shields,'' you say - preparing to attack him.
He had some struggles with creating the shields. While he was struggling, you stalked closer and closer with your weapon. He manages to create the shields, but he is too slow in his reflex. You kick his feet out from under him, causing him to fall on his back.
He groans and you immediately pins him. ''Now you are dead, Stephen,'' you say - your face close to his. You gaze in those blue orbs of him and then make a backflip away from him. ''Your reflexes are too slow. We will be working on that.'' Stephen didn't say anything, only watching you. You felt your heartbeat increasing, but you pushed it away.
''I want to show you this, now you're ready,'' you say after a year has passed. Stephen has become a great sorcerer. He nods and follows you.
''This is the sanctum of New York. There are two other sanctums, in Hong Kong and London. These three are all connected to protect the world. And New York City has become my own to protect,'' you say showing Stephen around.
"Y/N! The sanctum of London has fallen!'' Wong came rushing in. ''Who is it?'' ''Kaecilius.'' ''New York is next,'' you said and an explosion happened. You and Stephen are blown away.
''Ah, my dear Y/N,'' a rough voice said. You got on your feet. ''Kaecilius,'' you say, ''what has happened to you?'' ''Like you care!'' he snarls. He was enraged, you could tell. ''She always looked at you, how great and wonderful you were. And me? Yes, she taught me the basics, but turned more to you than to me!''
''Kaecilius, that's not true! She loved us both! You and I were like children to her, you broke her heart after leaving!'' you yelled - anger boiled up. "You have no right to talk about her like that! She took you under her wing!"
"Enough! No more talking," he snaps. His minions attacked Stephen while Kaecilius went fully for you. You grabbed your bow and fired arrows. ''That little bow of yours, won't help you,'' he smirks and throws invisible swords. You dodged them all.
''Let's see if he can do the same,'' he smirks evilly and throws the swords at Stephen. ''Stephen!'' you screamed the air out of your lungs. He spins around and nearly dodged all of the swords.
He had stopped the attack of one Kaecilius' minions when Kaecilius threw another sword. You sprinted and jumped in front of Stephen. The sword hit you in the stomach. You gasp loudly and the pain became unbearable.
Even Kaecilius was taken off guard. He wasn't planning on hurting you and didn't except you to take the sword for him.
You pulled - while screaming - the sword out of your body and fought back. Stephen watched you with admiring in his eyes. He opened a portal when one of the minions came charging at him.
The moment Kaecilius was trapped, your body went limb and your sight went dark. Stephen managed to catch you and examined the wound.
It had spread to the rest of her body. ''Oh, Y/N,'' Stephen mumbled. ''She is beautiful, right?'' Kaecilius mumbles. Stephen turned around to face Kaecilius. ''Why did you hurt her?'' Stephen urges, anger building up. ''I wasn't planning on, I didn't know that she would take the sword to protect you!"
You open your eyes to see a room. You sit up, which is a bad idea, you groan in pain. You lifted your shirt to see the wound. 'I was wearing my tunic when I passed out,' you thought, 'somebody must have changed my clothes.' You look aside to see a sleeping Strange.
The Ancient One came into the room - checking on you. ''Ah, you are awake,'' she says - relieved. ''Yeah, I guess. How did I end up here?'' you ask. ''Strange came in through a portal with you in his arms.''
''I ship it!'' Wong yelled. The Ancient One chuckles softly while Stephen jolts awake. ''What?'' you ask. ''I'll leave you.'' and the Ancient One leaves you alone.
''How are you feeling?'' he questions. ''I'm still alive, thanks to you.'' A slight blush reached his cheeks. ''I couldn't bear to lose you. You taught me everything. All this magic, tricks, love,'' he rambles. Your eyes widen at his last words.
''What did you say?'' you ask to be sure. "I... I couldn't bear to lose you because you have taught me many things. Love is one of them," he says - his face reddens.
You stood up and did an attempt to walk - it failed miserably. Stephen shot up and caught you. "Your reflexes are increased, doctor," you laughed. He smiled too and got you on your feet. His arms were still around your waist.
You gazed into each other's eyes. Stephen leans in and kisses you. You froze for a second and then melted into the kiss. Your hands found their way to his hair and his hands around your waist.
"I SHIP IT!" Wong yells once again - sneaking pictures. 'Blackmail,' he thought smirking.

(Extended Scene)
"You took your time to tell her," a voice said, which startled Stephen. "Where did you come from?" he questions, "never mind." "How did you know?" he questions further.
"You are too obvious Stephen. You are staring at her when she is not looking. She didn't notice, but we did."
Stephen mumbled under his breath. "Not in this universe, Stephen. Wrong universe," the Ancient One chuckles. He looks up in confusion and defeat.
"I'm going to check upon Y/N," Stephen says and walks away. "Checking, not snogging Strange!" Stephen groans while sighing. It gave the Ancient One her satisfaction - sealed with a smile.
