nesaela was raised to follow the faith of the seven, as the royals of southern descent did: worshipping the father, the mother, the maiden, the crone, the warrior, the smith, and the stranger. though she never had much belief in them, nessie often prayed to the new gods when she was in times of trouble or crisis. she learned the holy texts, the gods' hymns and prayers, and often sang "The Mother's Hymn," which rhaella used to sing to her as a child. she began to reject the faith more and more upon realising the faith condemned same-sex love.

and the unknown. is rarely prayed
to, takes the deceased to the afterlife.
is neither male or female, or both. often
depicted as a skeleton or a non-human
creature in a flowing, cowled robe. they
are the outcast, the wanderer and the
unknown.

𝐆𝐎𝐃𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 ;

after escaping from westeros, nesaela rejected the faith of the seven and decided there were no gods at all, as they had shown her family no mercy. however, she still mentions on occasion thinking about some gods out there, and how they must want her dead, because she believes no god would want her alive.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐆𝐎𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐒 ;

when first introduced to the high gods of ulthos, nesaela was a non-believer, having only been let down by gods in the past. it's only when their stories begin to make sense to her: the creations of kerakasha (dragons), and the gods' magic which is eerily similar to her own, does she start to become more intrigued. then their evil, godly children prove the ancient gods' existences, and when those the dead gods of ulthos try to kill her, nessie has no choice but to believe.

of ulthos.
