I WOULDN'T MIND
twelve. nessie
▬▬ TWO BEARS AND A MOUNTAIN LION later, Cori and Emmett lay wrapped in the sheets of his bed, her head on his chest and her leg pulled up over his.
His palms pressed flat against her back, tugging her impossibly closer to him as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. She hummed, a smile pulling at her lips as she let her eyes fall closed.
The second they got back from their hunt, Cori had pulled him upstairs, the promise of sexy lingerie and mind-numbing kisses had him tripping over his feet as he followed her up the stairs. Both entirely too preoccupied to even give a thought to the little half-human half-vampire baby that everyone else seemed to fuss over endlessly.
"Can we pick up our trip?" She asked, her voice soft as he moved his hand up her back and into her hair, his fingers scratching at her scalp. "I still wanna see Paris and the top of Mount Everest."
He grinned, the dimpled boyish smile of his, pressing another kiss to her forehead. "We can leave right now." He mumbled against her skin. "There's nothing I want more." She giggled, a sound he loved with every fiber of his being, as she climbed on top of him, her legs spread over his abdomen. His hands slipped down her back, his tough featherlight, until he reached her thighs, gripping rather harshly at the girl on top of him.
"This exact moment?" She quirked an eyebrow, her head dipped forward a little and her inky curls cascading down her naked chest. "Okay, if you wa-" She moved to get off of him, but his hold on her tightened, holding her in place and she giggled.
"Evil." He muttered as he sat up, moving her into his lap and she moaned, her soft lips parted just enough to let the soft sound out. "Oh, baby, we may never leave this room." He crashed his lips against hers, pulling her closer to him and she whimpered against him, her hands tangling in his hair to keep him close. Then he rolled, pinning her to the mattress with his body, his arms on either side of her, caging her in. "Wanna see what else we can break?" He mumbled against her lips, his voice hoarse as he rolled his hips into hers.
She moaned against him and he swallowed the sound before pushing himself up just enough to run his hands down her legs before he gripped her ankles. And with a swift move, her calves were on his shoulders, her ankles crossed behind his head and her mind the biggest blur of nothing other than the beautiful man above her.

▬▬ "FINALLY, DAMN." Travis huffed as Cori and Emmett made their way towards the kitchen. "You realize we can all hear you, right?"
"You realize that we really don't care, right?" Cori shrugged, giving him a smile and he rolled his eyes. "Now, where's the baby?" She moved away from Emmett, her hand falling from his, then she made her way towards Rosalie, who had the baby cradled in her arms. "Hey, Renaissance, I'm your aunt Cori." She held her hands out and Rosalie reluctantly handed the kid over.
"Her name's not renaissance." The blonde chuckled.
"Close enough." Cori shrugged, cradling the baby's head as she bounced a little. "You, my friend, are adorable. Let's hope you don't take after your dad." She moved her hand up, lightly tracing her finger over Renemsee's cheek, getting a giggle from the baby. "Whoa, teeth." She mumbled, getting a few chuckles from the others. "I don't think you're supposed to have those yet."
"She's also not entirely human." Travis told her, getting a small hum from the girl before she settled her eyes on the baby again but she looked up when Emmett moved to stand behind her, his hands on her hips as he looked down at her and the baby. He smiled as he kissed the top of her head and she grinned as she looked at the baby again.
"I cannot wait to show you all the ways to annoy your mother."
"And I will show you all the ways to annoy your dad." Emmett added, getting laughs from the others.
"Oh, God." Travis mumbled. "There's no telling what two will teach her."
The couple shared a devious smirk before looking over at him. "You should be very afraid." Emmett told his brother, making him heave out a sigh because he knew that with those two it was going to be very, very... hectic, for lack of a better word. Cori grinned at the baby as she moved her hand and placed it gently on her aunt's cheek, Cori smiled before she was suddenly somewhere else.
Covered in blood, dirt and leaves, Cori pulled Emmett into the house, her hand fisted around the front of his shirt. The big vampire smirked, quickly wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her to him, their lips smacking together as he lifted her off the floor, her legs tight around his waist and her hands in his hair.
"Seriously, guys." Rose huffed before everything darkened, only little slivers of light showing through the slits between her fingers. "And they can't hear me."
Cori looked up, her eyes wide in confusion and her jaw falling open. "Wha-what was...?"
"That was her first memory of you." Rosalie hummed.
"Sorry, kiddo." She mumbled, kissing the baby's forehead. She was just glad Rosalie had covered her eyes before she saw what happened after Emmett had picked her up, which involved the ripping of clothes and almost destroying the collection of graduation caps that hung on the wall.
"What'd she show you?" Emmett asked.
"Us, yesterday on the stairs."
"Oh God." He mumbled and she nodded.
"What happened on the stairs?" Jasper raised an eyebrow at the two.
"We-"
"Hey, they're back." Jacob grinned as he made his way into the room, cutting the burly vampire off making his way towards Cori and he smiled down at the baby.
"Here, Rosie." Cori mumbled, passing her the baby.
"You okay?" Emse asked the girl, her brows creased with worry.
"Yeah, I'm just not sure how I'm gonna react to seeing Edward. Last time I saw him I wanted to kill him, so better safe than sorry." She explained, her hands on Emmett's as she pulled them around to her stomach. He knew she loved the contact, but this seemed different. It was almost like she was making sure he was holding her back. Like she didn't trust herself.
"You're gonna be okay." He leaned down and kissed her cheek. "I promise."
"Welcome to the family." Esme greeted the new vampire as she and Edward entered the room.
"Just don't let go." Cori titled her head back, her golden eyes pleading.
He smiled as he kissed her forehead. "Never."
"You look amazing, Bella." Alice told her.
"Hey, Bell." Cori gave her a smile, a relieved breath leaving her lips because seeing her sister standing in front of her was a lot different then just being told she'd wake up. "You look good. Vampire suits you."
"Thanks." The older Swan chuckled.
"Someone's been waiting to meet you." Carlisle spoke, a smile on his face and Bella turned towards him as he stepped to the side. Rosalie had her back to them, the baby held close to her chest and Jacob right in front of her.
"Rose." She turned, smiling as she looked from her brother to Bella and Renesmee giggled as the blonde handed her to the brunette. Bella smiled as she cradled the baby, her eyes searching her face as if trying to commit her little face to memory.
Renesmee moved her hand up, placing it on her mother's cheek and Bella was dazed for a moment before the baby pulled back. "What was that?"
"She showed you the first memory she has of you." Edward answered, smiling at his little family.
"Showed me? How?" She asked, still completely enamored but the child.
He chuckled. "How do I hear thoughts? How does Alice see the future? How does Cori turn into a giant wolf that tries to kill me?" He glanced at the girl.
"Yeah, sorry about that." She mumbled, her head hanging forward as though she was embarrassed.
Edward gave her a small nod before looking back at Bella. "She's gifted."
"I've only been out for two days?" She asked, seeing the teeth in her daughter's gums. She didn't know much about babies, but she was sure they didn't have teeth two days after being born.
"Her growth rate is unprecedented." Carlisle explained, his doctor smile tugging at his lips in hopes of covering his concern for the child.
"All right." Jacob stepped around Rosalie, reaching for the baby. "That's enough experimenting for one day."
"Jacob. She's doing great." Edward gave him a warning look.
"Yeah. Let's not push it, though." He reached for the baby again, getting a glare from the new mother as she angled Renesmee away from him.
"What's your problem?"
"Oh. Do tell her, Jacob." Rosalie patted his shoulder, an amused smile tugging at her lips.
"This should be good." Emmett smirked and Cori giggled as she leaned into his chest.
"Hold on a second." Edward reached for the baby, only to have Bella hold her more tightly. "Bella." He almost pleaded and she let him take the kid before looking up at Jacob again, who looked a little worried.
"Look, it's a wolf thing."
"Oh, bad start." Cori mumbled, shaking her head.
"What's a wolf thing?" Bella snapped.
"Um.... you know we have no control over it." He told her, his voice shaky, as Rosalie took Renesmee from Edward. "We can't choose who it happens with. And it doesn't mean what you think it means, Bella. I promise."
"I'd offer you a shovel, but you seem to be digging that hole just fine." Cori shrugged, getting a laugh from Emmett as he leaned down and kissed the top of her head.
"Not helping." The boy shot her quick glare before looking at Bella once again.
"Take Renesmee out of the room." Her glare stayed on the boy, her eyes blood red. Edward placed his hand on his wife's shoulder, only for her to shake him off. "Edward, don't touch me right now, I don't wanna hurt you."
"Oh." The wolf let out a groan then Bella grabbed the back of his neck and drug him out of the house and into the yard. She threw him to the ground and he grunted as she rolled before pushing himself up.
"Let's go. I wanna see her kick his ass." Cori latched onto Emmett's hand and pulled him out of the house as he laughed, the others following after the couple.
"You imprinted on my daughter!" Her voice shook the trees and the anger rolled off of her heaps, so much so there you didn't need to be an empath to know that she was incredibly pissed.
"It wasn't my choice!" He shouted back as Cori rested her elbows on the porch railed and rested her chin in her hands. Emmett smiled at the amused look on her face as he stopped behind her, his hands on her hips as he pulled her just an inch towards him so he was pressed against her.
"She's a baby!"
"It's not like that!" He defended. "You think Edward would let me live if it was."
"I'm still debating it," He admitted casually, an amused smile on his lips as he leaned against the porch railing.
"I've held her one time! One time, Jacob!" The angry newborn shouted. "And already you think you have some moronic wolfy claim on her! She's mine!"
"I don't think it's moronic." Cori mumbled, leaning back a little into Emmett and he smiled as he kissed the top of her head. Even if she no longer felt the bond, unless in wolf form, she remembered what it felt like. How strong it was. How all consuming it could be. "But I do agree that it is sketchy that he imprinted on a baby."
"Seriously, not helping." The wolf shot her a glare and she just gave him a wide smile then Bella shoved him back and he hit the ground as Seth and Leah ran over in wolf form.
"It's fine, Leah." Jacob held up his hand, stopping her from interfering.
"You're gonna stay away from her," She all but demanded.
"You know I can't do that." He told her but all he got was another hit, groaning as he hit the ground again, and while everyone else watched, completely enthralled, Esme winched.
"Stop her, Edward."
"He said it's fine." He shrugged her off, his eyes never once leaving his wife. "She's amazing, right?"
Jacob pushed himself up, Seth and Leah at his side, both growling. "Do you remember how much you wanted to be around me three days ago? That's gone, right?" He asked.
"Lone gone."
"Because it was her. From the beginning, it was Nessie who wanted me there."
"Nessie?" Bella snapped, her red eyes wide with unchecked anger. "You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?" Jacob gulped and took a step back as Bella moved towards him, but Seth jumped in and she simply threw him into a nearby tree. He hit with a whimper and landed on the ground with a whine.
Cori was by his side in a second, all amusement leaving her face as she squatted down next to him as he tried to stand up, another whine leaving him. Anger filled her and she turned towards her sister, her eyes narrowed.
"Oh, no." Emmett mumbled, pressing his hands into the rail.
"Seth, I'm-" A grunt left her lips when Cori tackled her, pinning her to the ground by her shoulders.
"Seth has nothing to do with this!" She shouted at her sister, who, admittedly, was struggling a little in her sister's hold. "You could've seriously hurt him!" She pushed her harder into the ground but she let up a little when she felt something cold and wet on her arm. She looked over to see Seth at her side, she clenched her jaw and forced herself not to phase – that wouldn't end so great.
Bella shoved on her sister with more force than necessary, and since Cori was distracted she flew through the air before landing on her back and sliding through the dirt before she rolled onto her feet and stood up.
"Two newborns in one house," Jasper mused.
"Oh, my poor house." Esme mumbled quietly, leaning into Carlisle. With just Cori, they had to do repairs almost weekly, even if it was just small things like patching a hole.
Cori charged forward, but before she could get close to her sister a large arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her back. She huffed a little, knowing that it was Emmett. He planted his feet and locked his arm around her so tightly that if she were human, she'd have snapped completely in half.
Seth limped towards her and her golden eyes shifted to him. "You okay?" She asked and he let out a puff of air as he nodded his head. "Good." Then she looked over at Bella, who looked a little freaked out. "Sorry I lost it on ya, Bell. That part is tricky sometimes."
"You're sorry?" Bella shook her head. "I'm sorry." Her eyes moved to Seth, who stood tall next to Emmett and Cori. "To both of you. I forgot for a second."
"You get used to it... mostly." Cori told her, a half-hearted shrug pulling up her shoulders, getting a small chuckle from the older Swam. Then she looked up at her boyfriend. "You can let go. I'm okay now."
"Only if you're sure." He raised an eyebrow and she nodded. He kissed her temple and loosened his arm around her, but he didn't pull back entirely as they made their way back towards the house, Seth trotting behind them.
