"What the hell." Austen gapped as he was on watch with Maggie, the familiar shade of blonde hair coming toward the gates, holding a walker close to avoid multiple surrounding her. "Do you see that?"
"Is that-" Maggie started, looking toward the rest of the prison as they hurried toward the gate with their guns.
"Dad, it's Andrea!" Austin yelled as he ran down the steps, Rick spinning her around and checking her, yanking her bag off her. "Andrea!"
"Austin, stay back." Rick warned him with a finger his way, yanking Andrea to her feet. "Welcome back, get up."
Austin walked her way, accepting a tight hug as he held the back of her head. "I thought the walkers got you."
"I made a sprint to the woods." she hugged him back.
"I'm sorry." Austin held her a second longer. "We should have waiting for you."
"No, you shouldn't have." she pulled back and scanned his face over. "Everyone else make it out?"
"Not Patricia." Austin shook his head. "We lost Shane, Mom, T-Dog."
Andrea frowned. "I'm so sorry, Austin."
"Let's go in." Rick spoke up, encouraging Austin to lead Andrea into the prison, where they were met with Carol, embracing Andrea quickly.
"Hershel, my god." Andrea gapped at his missing leg. She looked around in shock. "I can't believe this."
"Did she have the baby?" Andrea looked to Austin, getting a nod. She faced Rick. "Rick, I- you all live here?"
"Here and the cell block." Glenn nodded his head.
"There?" Andrea pointed toward the gate. "Well, can I go in?"
"I won't allow that." Rick stepped forward to stop her.
"I'm not an enemy, Rick." she reassured him with a shake of her head.
"We had that field and courtyard until your boyfriend tore down the fence with a truck and shot us up." Rick told her with a knowing, almost mocking, look in his eye.
"He said you fired first." Andrea frowned her eyebrows.
Rick gapped at her. "Well, he's lying."
"He killed an inmate who survived here." Hershel added in as Andrea looked back at him, Austin fixed the hat on Carls head.
"We liked him. He was one of us." Daryl added.
"I didn't know anything about that." Andreas eyes watered as she held her mouth a second. "As soon as I found out, I came. I didn't even know you were in Woodbury until after the shoot-out."
"That was days ago." Glenn stared over at her.
"I told you, I came as soon as I could." Andrea shook her head, turning back to Michonne. "What have you told them?"
"Nothing." she leaned on the fence.
"I don't get it. I left Atlanta with you people and now i'm the odd man out?" Andrea asked in disbelief as she looked around the ground, Austin casted his eyes down before they could lock with hers.
"He almost killed Michonne and he would have killed us." Glenn said to her with a faint eyebrow raise.
"With his finger on the trigger!" Andrea pointed at Merle on the stairs. "Isn't he the one who kidnapped you? Who beat you? Look, I cannot excuse or explain what Philip has done. But I am here trying to bring us together. We have to work this out."
"There's nothing to work out." Rick snapped at her. "We're gonna kill him. I don't know how or when, but we will."
Andrea shook her head. "We can settle this. There is room at Woodbury for all of you."
Merle laughed. "You know better than that."
"What makes you think this man wants to negotiate?" Hershel asked her.
"Even if he did, after what he did to Glenn and Maggie, why would we ever want to go there?" Austin spoke up, shaking his head in disbelief. "To live in fear that our lives are on the line? Living under his control and order?"
"Why did you come here?" Rick cut in with his hands on his hips.
"Because he's geared up for war." she broke the news, "The people are terrified. They see you as killers. They're training to attack."
"I'll tell you what." Daryl started her way. "Next time you see Philip, you tell him i'm gonna take his other eye."
"And cut his d-" Austin starter, Carol slapped a hand over his mouth.
"We're taken too much shit for too long." Glenn got Andreas attention again. "He wants a war? He's got one."
The blonde turned to her pre-leader. "Rick? If you don't sit down and try to work this out, I don't know what's gonna happen. He has a whole town. Look at you. You've lost so much already. You can't stand alone anymore."
"You want to make this right, get us inside." Rick went on with her sympathetic words.
"No." she said back.
"Then we-" he started.
"There are innocent people!" Andrea yelled as he stormed past her. Austin sighed as Rick ignored her, walking through the gate.
"I'm sorry." Austin whispered as he hugged Andrea tightly later on in the evening. "You be safe out there."
"Keep yourself alive." she held the back of his head, Glenn pulling a car up next to them. She looked over. "Can you spare it?"
"Yeah." Rick exhaled.
Andrea looked around at the group, Austin backed up. She inhaled. "Well, take care."
"Andrea." Rick walked toward the car, passing her the gun and ammo. "Be carful."
"You too." she nodded, staring the car and driving off. Beth rubbed Austin's shoulders slightly as they watched her go.
"I'm sorry." Beth looked up at him.
"She'll be okay." Austin spoke, mainly to reassure himself more so. "She has to be."
"You two seemed close. Back at the farm." she spoke, Austin watching Andrea drive out of the gate.
"She saved me a few times." Austen cracked a grin. "Back when I hated everyone and everything and didn't know how to kill walkers. She reminds me of my mom."
Beth laced her hand in his, Austin turning his head to her with a small smile.
"I took a trip up North for a end of the year sophomore thing with my friends." Austin spoke as him and Beth sat in the look out tour together, the sun going down as the sky lit up orange, red, and pink. "The sunset wasn't as pretty up there as it is down here."
"Why do you think that is?" Beth looked over at him.
Austin shook his head. "I don't know. My mom use to bring me outside every single night to see it when I was little, I think I just got so use to seeing it with her that it didn't feel the same without."
Beth put her hand ontop or his. "Your moms really proud of how well you've taken care of Judith."
"Yeah, probably." Austin nodded, looking her way. "Do you miss your mom? And your step dad? And brother?"
"Yeah." Beth nodded her head with an exhale. "But, I know they're looking over me. Over us."
Austin rubbed her back as Beth smiled again. "I think they'd have liked you."
"Well, I did make a pretty good impression on Maggie." he gave a joking look her way. "The juries still out about your dad though."
"Oh, he likes you." Beth waved him off with a grin. "I can tell."
"Does he like most of your....guy friends?" Austin looked for the right wording.
Beth laughed. "No, he's never been a big fan of any of my boyfriends."
Austin held back a large, cheeky grin as he looked at the sunset, nodding his head quickly. "Right, totally."
Beth smiled, wrapping her arms around one of his arms and laying her head on his shoulder. Austin did smile when she couldn't see him then, resting his head ontop of hers.
