kenna and avery walked over to the table where nick, matt, and chris were sitting at and when she saw tessa, she rolled her eyes and sat down next to nick and avery sat down next to matt.

"do you have a problem with me or something?" tessa asked, mad.

"yeah, i do." she replied.

"i haven't even done anything to you." tessa replied, trying to act innocent.

"Are you serious right now? You told me to stop looking at your boyfriend, and if I didn't, you were gonna do something to me." Kenna recalled, pissed off.

"i dont know what your talking about." tessa denied, trying to defend herself.

she let out a sigh, "you know exactly what im talking about. you followed me to the bathroom just to tell me that."

chris looked at kenna, then at tessa. "is this true?"

"i- no." tessa replied, nervously.

"why are lying?" kenna asked, pissed.

"im not."

"yes you are."

tessa sighed, "okay, fine. you caught me. but i only told you that so you don't hurt him again." she replied, giving up.

kenna's heart stopped when she said that. she didn't mean to hurt him. she looked at chris, then back at tessa. she just wanted to run away and cry. she didn't want to be there anymore.

"cat got your tongue?"

her voice was harsh, making kenna's body rise with anger, but soon it turned to sadness. she felt her eyes starting to tear up.

"im actually gonna go." she said as she got up.

"kenna wait, tessa what the hell is wrong with you?!" nick yell at her.

"omg why do you care about her so much? her mom just abuses her when she's drunk and she makes such a big deal about it." tessa replied, cruel.

everyone went silent. nicks anger quickly turned into confusion, matt was also confused, avery was pissed off, and chris felt, well he didnt really know what he was felling.

"tessa, how the hell do you know about that?" avery asked, concerned.

"her brother." she said plainly.

"what?!" Chris yelled, making everyone jump.

she groaned, "omg you are so dramatic."

"dramatic?! you just brought up her personal life that you don't need to know about!" chris was yelling now, making everyone look at him concerned.

"why do you care about her so much?" she yelled back.

"because she's my best friend and i care about her! and you forcing me to not talk to her makes it hard." he responded.

"your forcing him to not talk to her?!" nick added, pissed off.

she scoffed. "you guys are just bring dramatic."

"tessa you need to leave." avery growled.

" you can't tell me what to do, bitch." tessa replied.

"excuse me?!" avery yelled.

"you heard me."

avery got up and walked over to tessa and punched her in the face. tessa swung back and they started to fight. matt quickly got up and grabbed avery, and chris quickly grabbed tessa.

"okay thats enough. how about you try to find kenna?" matt spoke to avery after he pulled her off.

she sighed, "Okay fine."

he smiled, "thank you."

she smiled back at him, "your welcome matthew."

"don't call me that." he reminded her, acting like he hated it while folding his arms.

"you like it." she smiled.

he smiled back, but quickly wiped it off. "whatever. now go find kenna, please."

she walked off to go find kenna. matt walked back over to chris, nick, and tessa. nick and chris looked pissed off.

"tessa what the actual hell is wrong with you?!" matt yelled at her, pissed off.

"what's wrong is that you guys are friends with her." she replied as she pointed to the three of them.

"well that shouldn't matter to you." nick added while rolling his eyes.

"well shes a bitch, anyways." she mumbled under her breath, hoping none of them would hear her.

"tessa shut up! I'm actually sick and tired of your bullshit." chris snapped at her.

nick and matt were shocked. he never talked like that to anyone before. maybe it's because he loves kenna so much it actually hurt him to hear someone talk bad about her. she's the nicest person you would ever meet.

tessa rolled her eyes and sighed.
"whatever. i'm tired of arguing with you guys."

she walked away as the three of them were just stood there, not knowing what to do. so much had happen just like that. chris looked down, like he was about to cry. nick and matt looked over at chris, confused.

"what actually just happened?" Matt questioned, confused.

"i don't know." chris responded, kind of sad.

"okay. well, I'm gonna go find kj and avery. you two do whatever the fuck you want." nick spoke, pissed off.

nick walked off, and now it was just matt and chris. matt looked over at chris, and chris looked up at him. matt walked up to him and gave him a hug, and chris returned the hug.

"you okay, chris?" matt asked, concerned for his brother.

he shook his head, "no, not really. i feel kind of bad, and stupid."

"hey, its okay. i want to ask you though, why are you acting like this? ever since you got with tessa you've been acting like a dick." matt asked as he pulled away from the hug to look at him.

chris signed, "because, tessa's crazy, okay? if im talking to a girl, she'll think i'm cheating on her. and she said if I ever talked to a girl, she would, do some things." he lowered his voice at the end of his sentence.

"chris, what do you mean 'she would do some things?'" matt asked, concerned.

he let out a sigh, "she said she would r@pe me, matt!" he kind of yelled at him, but he said it like he was scared.

matt's eyes widened at the words he just heard coming from his brother. he stood there for a few seconds before letting out a sigh.

"i'm sorry-"

"there's no reason for you to be sorry, matt." chris interrupted.

"yeah i know, but i feel bad-"

"its fine, matt."

"kj, are you okay?" avery asked, concerned as she found her sitting in the bathroom floor, crying.

kenna looked up at her best friend, and shook her head. "no, i'm not."

there was silence for a few minutes, allowing kenna to think about what just happened in the cafeteria.

she sighed, "i'm so sorry kj. i really wanted you to have a good first day back." she spoke as she walked over and plopped down next to her, snapping kenna out of her thoughts.

"it's fine, avery. it's not your fault."

"do you still want to go over to matts to start the project? we don't have to if you don't want to."

"yeah. i think i'll be fine."

kenna got up and her friend followed her. they walked out to find nick walking towards them.

"kj! Are you okay?" he walked up to her and hugged her.

she nodded her head, "yeah, I think so."

he pulled away from the hug, "you sure? you know im always here for you if you need me, right?"

"yeah, im sure. and yeah I know." she smiled at him, and he smiled back.

"okay. kj, i've got a question to ask you."

she furrowed her eyebrows. "okay."

"why didn't you tell me, about your mom?" he asked, concerned.

her mouth dropped, confused at what nick had just asked. she had so many thoughts running through her head.

how does he know? how did he find out? who told him? what do I say to him?, she thought.

"how did you find out?" She asked, slowly.

"uhm, well. tessa said it."

kenna's mouth dropped open. tessa? how did she.. then a thought came to her mind. noah.

"tessa? why did she say it?" she questioned, annoyed.

"because she got mad." avery replied, while rolling her eyes.

kenna started to get angry. why the hell would noah tell her that? then she remembered that tessa was noah's ex.

"im going to go find matt." she spoke angrily while walking off.

"kj!" nick called out as she walked off.

kenna didn't look back. she just kept on walking to go and find matt. she couldn't believe that tessa would say that. kenna didn't even want to be there anymore. as she was walking, she spotted matt with chris. she started to slow down, not sure if she wanted to see chris, but she just let out a sigh and continued walking.

"kj, what are you doing?" matt said to her as she walked up to him.

she didn't say anything back, she just walked up to him and started crying as she hugged him. matt was confused but he didn't say anything, he just let her hug him.

chris just stood there, a mix of feelings washed over him. a memory of him and kenna came to his mind of when he was holding her as she cried in his arms. he wanted to push matt out of the way so he could be the one hugging her, not him. but he stopped himself and remembered that they were mad at each other.

kenna pulled away from the hug, trying to remember why she even came over there in the first place. she sniffled and looked at matt, who was already looking at her worried and concerned.

"are you okay?" he asked her with concern.

she just shook her head and let out a sigh, "no, not really. i'm just, upset that tessa told you and nick." she replied.

"why didn't you tell us before?" matt asked with concern.

she looked at chris, but she quickly looked back at matt.

she hesitated, then sighed, "i didn't want to feel like a burden to you."

"kj, your not going to but a burden to us. you know im always here for you, right?" he replied, letting her know that their there for her.

she nodded her head with a smile. she kept looking at chris, wanting to talk to him.

chris looked at her and his eyes trailed her face, remembering how beautiful she was, then his eyes went to her hoodie, well, his hoodie. she was wearing his hoodie. he felt a feeling of sadness wash over him. he knew why she was wearing it. he knew what she was going through. he looked back at her face, but she already looking at him.

"why are you staring at me?" she sighed, snapping chris out of his thoughts.

"i wasn't staring at you. i was just, thinking and i zoned out." he lied.

she rolled her eyes, then looked at matt, "now what?"

"i don't know. you're the one that came
over here." matt replied while rolling his eyes.

"ughh whatever."

"okay, im going to go find avery and nick."

kenna furrowed her eyebrows and a smirk formed across her face, "you're just going to see avery so you guys can make out." she teased.

"what! no. i don't like her like that." he denied, knowing she's not wrong.

"mhm, okay you keep telling yourself that." she replied.
