So because my brain comes up with stuff non stop once I'm in the pool and don't have access to my phone, I came up with a story idea there and thankfully, I remembered it.

You know how they talk about cloning dogs and stuff? I have a varying opinion on that... I mean, it is very cool that scientists can do stuff like that but it's sort of not logical. I get that people are attached to their pets and all - my opinions aren't based on them - it's 500,000 US dollars to clone an animal. And that's if only one clone is born. In the case that more than one, say, 5 are born, you have to pay for every puppy. That's 2.5 million... wow... uhm... let's not talk about this anymore... it's a very controversial topic........

Anyways, in my bio class we talked about this. As my teacher was telling us this, I wondered, what if scientists could clone a human? Well, this got me thinking - (alright let's stop here for a sec because THIS is an even more controversial topic than cloning animals, and I am not going to express my opinions on this topic, so even though I may sound for or against, were saying I have a neutral standpoint) - thinking real hard indeed. Then came the story idea.

It's 2020. There's a woman. She's pregnant with her first child. Her friend is a scientist. Him and his lab team have cloned animals and have had many successes. MANY. So, he brings a proposal to his friend. He wants to clone her child - in secret, illegally - without the media knowing anything about it. (By the way, this gets into some unrealistic science fiction here but whatever, and plus, this dude is insane - CLONING A HUMAN WITHOUT PERMISSION AND ILLEGALLY IS WRONG.) The woman has a long hard think about it and stuff, knowing all of the risks and everything associated with the procedure - and how she gets paid for everything - but everything has to be secret. Everything. Long story short, they get a surrogate mother and end up cloning the baby when its mother is in her second trimester - which was risky, they had to get a blood sample - and the procedure went fine and as planned. Next few months are tough, the surrogate ends up pregnant with the clone and they keep a close watch on her, then bam the original mother gives birth and 3 1/2 months later the surrogate does also. This child and her "sister" clone are separated and raised across the country from one another. They live with no notion of the other existing, meaning the secrecy worked. No one knew, not even the girl and her clone. So we skip to eighteen years later. 2038. The child's clone finds out about her "sister" and goes on an adventure to find her. Tada.

So, I mean, I like the idea, but what do you guys think? I think it's pretty weird, but it has some good potential to it.
