I was tagged by violet_storm, so thank you, Zahra! I was going to do this anyways, but now I have a legitimate reason. Hehe.
Given the choice of anyone in the world, who would you have dinner with?
Probably one of my best friends. I know, kind of boring, but my friends are my family and if I think about having dinner with a stranger, no matter how much I want to meet them, I would freak out. So, keeping it simple.
Would you like to be famous? In what way?
Not really. I don't exactly fancy an abundance of attention. If I was famous, though, I would want to be famous for an action or a book, but have people care more about the action/book than me.
Before making a phone call, do you rehearse what you're going to say?
It depends. If it's an order from a restaurant or me asking a friend to do a big favor, yes. If it's a spontaneous call, like "hey I need to talk," then no. I do the same in person.
What would constitute a perfect day for you?
Being with friends and family, no drama, quiet time to write, everyone getting along okay, finding the right words, fun, swimming, and a ton of amazing food.
When did you last sing for yourself? For anyone else?
Tuesday, for myself, but it was along with a friend. I don't sing for other people.
If you were able to live to the age of ninety and retain either the mind or body of a thirty year old for the last sixty years of your life, what would you do?
The mind. I don't exactly have an explanation as to why, but I feel like it would be more beneficial than the body.
Do you have a secret hunch of how you'll die?
No, not really.
Summarize your life story in five minutes:
*deep breath*
Depending on how fast you read, this might not be 5 minutes, but hey, I tried. (Hey! Future Kay here... I think it took more than five minutes.)
I was born as the first child in my family into quite a small home. My parents were not married when I was born, but I took my father's last name nonetheless.
I started elementary when I was 5, becoming very close with my teacher. She was a big inspiration for me in my younger years, even if I was a little insane and boy crazy. I grew out of that in first grade.
Met a lifelong friend in second grade; I still remember how we met. I asked if she liked cats, then dogs. She said yes to both so I asked if she wanted to be friends. We're still friends to this day. I moved into a new house and started swimming that year.
Finished elementary 7 years later. I was arrogant in some of those years, but I learned from that.
In sixth grade, I experienced my first real crush on someone and got a necklace from him. I asked him to the dance that year, dumped him, cried, and threw the necklace out. He continued to like me back until middle school started.
Middle school came. I joined band (the class) after two years of weekly morning practices. I met my two best friends in that class within the first few weeks, had my first boyfriend, fell into a sketchy crowd of people, lied to my parents for a while, was yelled at for cussing, grounded because of lying, got dumped by my first boyfriend, went through a very rough period in which my ex-boyfriend prodded at me until I cried, and pulled through by the end. I emerged a different person after that year.
Eighth grade was a very quick year. I became closer with my friends and went through some more drama, distanced myself from the people that I didn't need to be around, chose a new lunch table with a few friends for the better, almost dated a second person until I found out he pretty much led me on, and came out with a smiling face. I don't know exactly when, but I became comfortable with my body and everything about me in that year. I learned to love myself. I started to write, too, and fell deeply in love with it.
High school started. The start of it was hectic, but very fun. I joined marching band, took standardized testing, almost failed an exam, and received a varsity letter for swimming. I met my two other best friends and am very content at the moment.
I am still in school, but we are out for the summer currently. I am doing two swim practices a day and am slowly coming out of my shell of anxiety with the help of a friend that I got to take me to practice every day.
To be continued...
If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one ability, what would it be?
Invisibility.
If a crystal ball could tell you anything about yourself, your life, or your future, what would you ask?
I don't know if I'd want to know anything in fear of it being terrible, but if I did ask, it would be about what I should major in college. I have no idea yet and I'm scared I still won't when the time comes.
Is there something you've dreamed of publishing for a long time?
Publishing a book; swimming for college.
What is your greatest accomplishment in life?
The improvement that I have made in swimming since I started, and qualifying for the Junior Olympics in my state.
What do you value most in a friendship?
Trust. I need to know that the person I vent to isn't going to spill the tea to anyone else, I need someone who I can talk about anything and everything with.
What's your most treasured memory?
Hmm. This is a hard one because there are so many... I'll just say I have a lot and keep it at that. :)
What's your most terrible memory?
Embarrassing myself at my seventh birthday party when my dad smashed my cake in my face and I cried for three hours. Yes, there is worse, but that's what came to mind at this moment.
If you knew in one year you'd die suddenly, would you change anything about the way you lived?
Of course. I would be more adventurous and open to new ideas, travel, probably try to be more confident in social situations and put myself out there more, read more, write more, just be with the people I love more.
What does friendship mean to you?
My friends are my family, and that is the bottom line. That's the foundation for everything they know about me, everything I tell them, and the friendship we share in harmony.
What roles to life and affection play in your life?
A lot of them.
How close and warm is your family? Do you feel your childhood was happier than most people's?
My family is very close. My parents are still together and we all get along well. I think my childhood was happier than some peoples - I grew up in a financially stable, happy home.
How do you feel about your relationship with your mother?
I am very close with her. I tell her a lot of things that happen because she gives great advice.
What's an embarrassing moment in your life?
When I almost gave alcohol to kids in my pool many years ago at a birthday party because I thought it was "coke light." It was Coors Light.
When did you last cry in front of another person? By yourself?
Wednesday and Wednesday.
What, if anything, is too serious to joke about?
Suicide. Killing of innocent people. Genocide. Rape.
If you were to die tonight with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not telling someone?
I would regret not telling my parents/friends that I loved them if I didn't that day.
Your house is on fire. After saving your loved ones and pets, what one item would you also save?
I don't know, to be honest.
