APRIL 20, 2021.
( NARI'S 16TH BIRTHDAY)

the boys, minus Jay,  had all carefully woken up that morning, careful to not make any sounds that could potentially wake NaRi up— even though they all knew it'd take an airplane to be able to do so.

they all made it out of the bedroom, immediately catching sight of their manager who was walking into the dorm with boxes stacked below him.

"hello!" they greeted, slightly bowing their heads. the manager returned the action, handing a box out to the guys.

once they'd placed the boxes on the table, the boys looked towards the manager with a questioning look on their faces— considering they had no idea what was in the boxes.

"oh, right! that'd probably be nice to know.. they're all cakes! about half are for Jay and the rest are for NaRi, they were taking up a lot of space at the company somehow so PD asked me to bring them here." he explained, the boys making noises of understanding.

it was around eight in the morning, the boys still having enough time to set up for the two 4/20 babies' day. even though they knew they had schedule that day— they still wanted to make it special since both Jay and NaRi were the ones to celebrate for others' birthdays the most.

they'd bought earth-toned streamers to hang around the house, knowing they were colors besides black both birthday kids liked.

three of the guys worked on slightly decorating the dorm, the other six setting out their cakes.

"wait.. they're both the cooks."
"oh shoot..."
"what are we gonna do?"
"...we could just tell them to cook what they want to?"
"we can order takeout!"
"but we have our comeback.."
"you're right.."

NaRi'd woken up in HeeSeung's bed, immediately moving to check her phone once she'd fully awoken. the girl was almost instantly met with text message notifications flooding her lock screen, a bright smile coming on her face.

since it was around 9:45am, all of NaRi's idol friends had woken up already.
she found an astounding 203 messages waiting to be opened— wow it hasn't ever been this much what the heck?

a few minutes of silence in the room had passed before NaRi let out a small chuckle, notifying Jay that she'd woken up.
the boy carefully climbed out of bed, quickly moving towards NaRi's laying figure with a present bag in his hold.
"happy birthday~" he greeted, bringing the girl into a cuddle. she squealed a bit out of surprise, a bright smile appearing on her face nonetheless.
"happy birthday to you too, hyungie~" she responded, slightly turning her face to press a kiss on the boy's cheek.

she looked down, moving away from Jay's hold. "oh? what's that?" she asked, eyes scanning the bag he held.
Jay held it out towards her, "it's for you!"
she pouted a bit, "you didn't have to-"
he was quick to interrupt, "yes, i had to. of course i would. i just hope you like it.."

she carefully opened the taped bag, mouth falling agape as she saw what was inside.
it was the black Chanel beret she'd been looking for for months, every attempt of her finding it having been a fail.
"oh my gosh! thank you so much!" she exclaimed, jumping forward into his arms.

"oh, oh! here's yours!" she quickly remembered after thanking Jay a thousand times. the girl handed him a larger present bag, a big bow on the outside.
"it better not have been expensive.."
"look at what you got me!"
"okay, okay.. you're right." he chuckled, carefully opening the bag.
it was a leather jacket he'd saw online and liked, along with a stack of name-brand rings and two necklaces on the inside.
"you like it?" she quietly asked.
he rolled his eyes, "it's way too expensive. i can't take this."
"of course you can~ it's no big deal! i've had this for you for like months already, i promise it's okay!"

he'd reluctantly accepted her gifts, the two deciding to go outside after twenty minutes of being awake.
the other members had heard footsteps approaching the living room, each getting in a corner.
the two walked out, the other six jumping out while screaming "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

the two 4/20 babies smiled, receiving the cakes the members had chosen to give them.

NaRi later posted on WEVERSE,
