Everything happens for a reason. It was a lesson that had been woven into Honey's very being after all she had experienced in her life. From unfortunate circumstances of her birth right up until the moment the girl she considered her sister walked away from her. Each situation was a lesson taught; Loss is inevitable but death isn't an ending and every second counted. And as Honey leant against a tree watching her childhood best friend get along with the pack, she knew that every moment lead to this very one. Jacob had been hesitant at first, the presence of a foreign wolf around his Imprint set off a primal jealousy however, when Honey introduced Jaxon to the pack, it faded into immediate acceptance.
Jaxon had gotten along with the pack instantly, Sam and Paul carrying respect for the Marksman Kin that originated in Mexico. Embry and Quil were eager to hear all about Honey's history growing up, Jared pushed for anything embarrassing but Jaxon didn't have many of those stories to share. Seth and Leah weren't present yet as they were with their mother enjoying family time but Honey was sure they wouldn't mind Jaxon's presence. Jacob turned his attention from the conversation happening to focus on his girl, she smiled as they locked gazes. Jacob excused himself and approached Honey, his hands immediately resting on her hips as he leaned his forehead against her own.
"Jax is pretty cool," Jacob admitted making Honey chuckle. "He is. Told you that I knew all about wolves," Honey remarked teasingly, Jacob rolled his eyes fondly before leaning down to kiss her. Honey placed her hands on his chest, her lips brushing against Jacob's passionately; her entire body felt simultaneously electric and relaxed. Jacob pulled back enough to look down at Honey, he lightly squeezed her hips but before he could say anything, another voice spoke up. "Jacob! There's someone wishing to see you back at your dads place," Seth spoke as he approached, he raised a brow at the presence of Jaxon. "Thanks Seth," Jacob replied annoyed, he wanted to stay by Honey instead. "Go on," Honey teased, kissing his lips lightly.

Jacob tensed when he approached his dads place to find Bella leaning against her truck, she had a small frown on her face as she was clearly trapped deep in her thoughts. Jacob bit back the urge to snap at Bella for her actions towards Honey but then he remembered that Honey wouldn't want him to do that. "You wanted to see me?" Jacob called out with his arms crossed against his chest, his question startled Bella from her train of thought. "I, uh... I've made a lot of mistakes recently and, uh, I know I have no right after what I said and did but... I miss Honey and─" Bella was cut off by Jacob scoffing, "Unless your intention is a real friendship with Honey, I won't agree."
Bella was silent as she looked at Jacob, she could see the love and adoration in his eyes for Honey; the sight made her happy that both of them had found each other. "I won't use her again, Jacob. I want my best friend back. The girl who loves strawberries but hates oranges. The girl who loves sunshine but prefers rain. The girl who will enter a library and read single every book. The girl who never gave up even when everyone else did," Bella expressed with tears forming in her eyes, "I know I screwed up but all I am asking ─ even though I have no right ─ is for a chance to try and fix my mistakes." Jacob stayed silent, it wasn't his choice to make but he didn't want Honey to end up more hurt.
Bella brushed her hair out of her face before standing up straight, "If she wants to talk, I'll be at the diner." Bella got into her truck and left the Reservation. Jacob thought her words over, it was obvious that Bella knew Honey as a person and before Edward, Bella truly did value the friendship between them. Jacob let out a sigh, he would pass on the words and let Honey decide what she wanted to do next. With that in mind, Jacob headed back to the rest of the pack at Sam's place only to find quite the scene ahead of him. Jaxon stood with a grin on his face, his gaze locked with Leah Clearwater who looked to be stun locked. The thoughts rushed through everyone's minds, Honey smiled knowing that Jaxon had found an Imprint with Leah; a woman who deserved love.

It had been an hour since Bella arrived at the diner, her fingers fiddling with a napkin on the table as she ignored her phone which was filled with messages from Edward about how this was an apparent bad idea. She lowered her head, tears welling in her eyes at the realisation that she had completely ruined everything with the one person in this world that had always had her back. Just as she prepared to leave, her attention was taken by someone standing before her table. Bella looked up and locked gazes with Honey Parker herself, her breath caught in her throat at the sight of her guarded presence.
"Jacob told me what you said to him," Honey stated sternly before she sat down across from Bella, her arms across her chest defensively, "I'm giving you a chance to make your case on the benefit that we grew up together but I'm not promising anything, Bella. And most of all, I will not forgive your boy toy ever." Bella took in a steady breath, processing the words and sorting out her apology while Honey ordered herself a drink and some fries. She leaned back in her seat while Bella fell into her thoughts, she knew the brunette was sorting through her wild mind and so the blonde left her to do so; she had all the time in word and was willing to keep Bella away from Edward in the process of it.
"Honey, I know that no matter how many times I say sorry, nothing will ever make up for my words or actions. I know that you may never trust me like you did before and I respect that and accept it," Bella began with her eyes downcast as she spoke the deep thoughts on her mind, "You've been there for me through all of my darkest moments, shining as a lighthouse so I can see the shores through the storms. And I tossed you aside like you were nothing and that's so far from the truth. You're my soul sister, Honey and I... I hate myself for what I did." The words settled into the space, Honey keeping up her guarded expression while Bella blinked back tears.
"You're right," Honey replied with a blank expression, "No matter how many times you say that you're sorry, it'll never be enough." Bella swallowed harshly at the words, they struck her like a bullet to the chest but she knew she deserved this. "I was there for it all, the nightmares, the pain, the heartache... I went with you to Italy risking my existence... I could have died at the hands of the Volturi just to save a stranger for you. I left my love behind to support you, to help make sure you didn't lose your heart at the risk of losing mine," Honey remarked, her words were venomous but her tone was shaky, "And then you acted like I didn't exist... you're obsessive desire overtook everything and you walked away from me."
"I am obsessive, you're right," Bella rushed out before Honey could add more of the painful truth, "I feel it in my heart... living without Edward feels like I can't breathe. Being a part from him feels like something is missing in my heart." A tear fell down Bella's cheek as Honey kept her gaze locked with the brunettes. "But losing you? God, it's like my soul has been ripped from me and it was my own actions... I broke my promise to you... I put a boy before our friendship and..." Bella trailed off as more tears began to fall, "And I can only tell you that I will earn your forgiveness... that I'd never walk away again... not for Edward, not for anyone. Just please... a chance is all I'm asking for. I love you, I'm sorry."
Honey stood up, resting her hands on the table as she leaned in closer to Bella with her stoic expression, "I need time, Isabella. 'Cause right now, all I see is the one who walked away. And honestly... I can't find that trust right now." Bella sniffled, her heart physically ached hearing those words however, her eyes fluttered shut when Honey reached forward and wiped the tears from her face. "Give me time," Honey whispered, "Prove it to me." Bella opened her eyes to look up at the blonde as she added, "That's our starting point." Bella nodded slightly before lowering her head as Honey paid for her meal then she left the diner.

As Honey drove back to her shared home with Jacob, she pulled over to the side of the road as her eyes welled with tears. Her heart felt like it was being physically squeezed as Bella's words echoed like a violent storm through her head. As the first tear drop, a soft patter began on the roof of the car. As more tears began to flow from Honey's eyes, the soft patters shifted into a harsh impact that made no sound to the blonde drowning in the words of someone she deemed her sister. The sky darkened and the wind thrashed outside the car, trees blowing harshly, fighting to stay standing. The sound of tapping on the passenger window pulled her from her heartache.
Honey turned her head to see Jasper Hale standing in the pouring rain, he sent her a soft smile before motioning to the door; asking if he could enter. Honey wiped the tears from her eyes and nodded, she watched cautiously as the blond climbed in and closed the door behind him. "I apologise for getting the seat wet. It seems the weather changed so suddenly," Jasper expressed, his Southern accent shone through, "Almost like the weather was directly connected to your emotions." Honey scoffed a laugh before sniffling, she turned herself to face the empathic vampire. "Why did you wish to speak with me?" Honey asked politely.
"You intrigue me. And Rose," Jasper answered with his brows furrowed, "You're species is considered impossible. Born from a vampire and human but yet, here you stand. The aspects of a vampire and the warmth of a human." Honey smiled softly as she recognised the way Jasper considered her presence, he wasn't sizing her up as a threat but moreso trying to bridge the gap between his families damage and the Hybrid blonde mated to a wolf. "So you don't share the same sentiments as your mate or brother then?" Honey asked cautiously, she knew it tended to be rare for Mates to go against each other in such a way.
"Alice has... a cautious view of you because the only vision she had of you was the sight of you killing someone in a ruthless way she had only witnessed at the hands of the Volturi," Jasper expressed, "She fears your true power. As proven by the way you managed to burn Edward." Honey scoffed with an eye roll at the mention of the Telepath of the coven. "Don't worry, I'm not the biggest fan of Edward either," Jasper reassured her and he was being truthful, he hated how Edward always outcasted him and viewed him only as a monster. "Well, you seem alright to me," Honey remarked with a teasing tone that made Jasper laugh. "Yeah, and your sunshine presence soothes the thirst for me," Jasper told her truthfully.
"I figured," Honey commented, "I've met others who have an awfully bloody history craving the blood like oxygen only to feel at peace around me." Honey looked out the window with an almost whimsical expression before her mood dropped, Jasper picking up on it immediately. "What is it?" Jasper asked noticing the tears welling up in her eyes again. "I want to forgive her... I miss her... God, do I miss her... but... I'm scared. What if she leaves again? What if she chooses him? What if..." Honey cut herself off, pressing her palms to her eyes in hopes to stop the tears. Jasper frowned and reached over to hug the blonde, deciding not to use his gift but his compassion.
They were silent, no words said but an understanding formed between the two of them. Jasper hadn't had a connection like this since he was human, the blonde he was comforting reminded him of his sisters; something about her felt so damn familiar and he couldn't pinpoint what it was other than the resemblance to his sisters. Jasper had live 140 plus years on this earth and the only two times he felt peace was with his mate or around the blonde who reminded him of his sisters back in the 1860s. Honey was slightly shocked that Jasper was the one in the family to actually welcome her but she guessed it was his experience in life taught him who real threats were compared to the ones just trying to live.

Jasper's words overpowered Bella's apology as Honey made dinner for her and Jacob that night. His reassurance about her stance and encouragement to hold Bella accountable for her actions allowed her overwhelming anxiety to fade away. As arms wrapped around her waist, Honey smiled softly at the familiar scent of pine and leather. She smirked as a soft growl left Jacob's throat, his nose brushing deep into her neck picking up on the smell of Jasper on her. "Why do you smell like a Cullen?" Jacob asked, his hold tightened slightly. "I was... overwhelmed after my talk with Bella and Jasper found me... he was lending an ear and gave some good advice," Honey answered.
Jacob turned her around and lifted Honey onto the counter away from the stove, standing between her legs as he brushed his face into her collarbone; his arms wrapped tight around her. "He didn't hurt you, did he?" Jacob asked, his protective instincts kicking in as his wolf and the pack recognised Jasper as the biggest threat in the Cullen Coven. "No, Jake. Jasper considers me more of a friend than a foe," Honey reassured him as she ran her fingers through his hair allowing her love to came down and relax against her. The two were silent and though Jacob wanted to ask further questions about Honey's talk with Bella, he knew she had already been overwhelmed and he didn't wish to make it worse.
With the tensions of the day fading into something peaceful, Honey and Jacob had eaten dinner before snuggling up in bed to watch a movie. Jacob told Honey about how Leah seemed hesitant to let Jaxon in until they went for a walk where they got the chance to talk and get to know each other better. He also mentioned that Jaxon had taught the pack how to block the others from their thoughts, teaching them to understand the pack link in a way they hadn't known existed. And though some like Jared and Embry were pouty about not being able to break into someone else's thoughts for blackmail or gossip, the others were happy to be able to keep thoughts to themselves.
It wasn't long until Honey had fallen asleep in the arms of her Mate, he held her on top of him like a blanket; her face in the crook of his neck. Jacob felt his whole body relax underneath his Imprint, his fingers running up and down her back in a soft pattern that soothed her. His mind was reeling with the chaos that had changed in his life, over the past four months of their lives. He knew being a Supernatural creature would result in threats being around the corner constantly but the idea of their peace being ruined set his inner wolf off. He took a breath as Honey's lips brushed against his jaw, even in her sleep she felt he was unsettled. He smiled, his eyes focused on his sock drawer; a small green velvet box inside.
