The machine beeping echoed through the small hospital room where Honey lay unconscious. Jacob Black sat by her bed with his hand holding her own, it was the only thing that was keeping him calm. Paul stood by the door with his arms crossed, he had volunteered to stand guard over Honey despite Jacob not leaving her side. Bella walked into the room and knocked on the door, "How is she?" Paul sighed as Jacob ignored Bella's presence leaving Paul to answer, "There's no bleed, they don't understand why she hasn't woken up and considering... what she is, we have no idea how to help either." Bella frowned deeply at Paul's words, she felt like Carlisle would have the answers if he was there.

"How are the other two?" Paul asked wanting to fill the silence with something other than the beeping machines. "Jessica's okay. She'll be in a cast for six weeks but she's handling it fine," Bella answered as she crossed her arms against her stomach, "And Angela finally woke up. She's dizzy and they say she has a concussion but she should be fine in a few days." Paul nodded at that, he was glad that the girls were okay but he had another question. "Who was the red head, Bella?" Jacob asked before Paul could, his voice was raspy with emotions as he looked up at the brunette, his eyes red and puffy from the tears he had been holding back.

"Victoria... she was friends with Laurent, the vampire you fought in the field," Bella answered him, she felt incredibly guilty knowing that Honey had been dragged into the mess just by being near Bella. "What does she want?" Jacob questioned further. "Me. Ed─ The Cullens had killed her mate protecting me and now she wants to kill me," Bella explained knowing that the answers were what they needed. "And now she wants to kill Honey too," Jacob growled before closing his eyes, Paul noticed how Jacob was beginning to shake. "Jacob, not here. You need to calm down," Paul warned Jacob, he didn't have the Alpha power to order Jacob to calm down and Sam was out scouting for Victoria.

"Jacob?" Bella called, she moved to step forward but Paul stopped her. "Calm down," Paul warned in a more firm tone as Jacob began breathing heavy, the sounds were similar to a growl at this point. "You phase in here, Jacob Black, I will slap you," Honey's voice echoed softly through the room catching Jacob's attention immediately, he looked down frozen as she opened her eyes and smiled up at him. "Hey Jake," Honey greeted and Jacob didn't hesitate to lean down and kiss her, his hands cupped her face gently, taking her breath away. Paul chuckled before stepping out to find a doctor, Bella smiled slightly before looking down; she didn't feel jealous but she did envy their blossoming love.

"Easy, easy," Charlie instructed Jacob as he carried Honey into her room, she laughed to herself completely amused by their concern and overprotective caution. "You know the doctor said that I'm completely clear, right?" Honey told Jacob who smirked as he laid her down on her bed. "My princess deserves the best treatment," Jacob told her with a wink. "And the doctor said you need plenty of rest," Charlie added as he put her bag down on her desk chair. "And remember, if you have any dizzy spells or nausea, let someone know," Bella said to Honey who rolled her eyes and nodded. "I feel fine but to ease you guys, okay, I will," Honey reassured them all. Charlie kissed the top of her head before leaving the room.

"So, I met Victoria. The red threat," Honey said after some silence. Bella stood in the doorway, she chewed on her bottom lip with guilt pooling her eyes. "Hey, don't hold yourself accountable, Bella. You're family to me and if she wants you, she has to go through me," Honey told Bella sternly, the brunette frowned at those words. "I don't want you to get hurt, Honey. Not again," Bella replied to her best friend. "Hey! You are not responsible for this. It was her mate that hunted you, her mate that taunted you and her mate's decision to put his desires above his love. His death is his alone," Honey expressed to Bella who smiled slightly hearing the blonde's words.

"And as for Victoria, I sympathise with her for losing the one she loves but hunting you and me, that's only going to end with her walking into the gates of Hell," Honey finished off before opening her arms, Bella sighed with a soft smile before crawling onto the bed and hugging Honey. Jacob stood to the side through the conversation, he smiled at the two best friends and the kind soul that was Honey Parker. "I got your back like you've always had mine," Honey promised Bella. "And I have yours," Bella promised back before pulling out of the hug and getting up. "Get some rest. We'll visit Angela tomorrow," Bella told Honey who nodded, wishing Bella goodnight as she closed the door behind her.

"And you're sure that you're okay?" Jacob asked Honey as he stood by her bed, he smiled spotting the russet brown wolf plush he had won her sitting in the corner of her bed. "Yes, Jake. I feel fine," Honey replied with a playful annoyed sigh, "Well, I'm annoyed that I lost against her but I'll get my revenge, I'm sure of it." Jacob shook his head amused before looking at Honey's digital clock, "I should get going then." He kissed her cheek and turned to leave when Honey grabbed his hand. "Actually, would you stay with me?" Honey asked with a pout that made Jacob swoon. "I'd be stupid to say no," Jacob replied as he kicked off his shoes and climbed into the soft bed next to her.

The moment Jacob laid down on his back, Honey moved to snuggle into his side only for the warm, muscular 6"7 shifter to grab her hips and pull her to lay on top of him, adjusting the blankets over them as he rested his arms around her. "Comfortable?" Honey asked in an amused tone. "I am now," Jacob told her as he smirked, his thumbs rubbed her waist in a soothing manner as Honey nuzzled her face into his chest. "You're so, so warm," Honey whispered knowing he could hear her clear as day. "I know I'm hot, Princess," Jacob teased making Honey scoff before smirking, she knew how to wipe the smug smirk off of his face.

Honey moved her head and lightly kissed Jacob's jaw causing his body to tense from the unexpected action, his breath hitched as she placed another kiss to the side of his chin. Jacob's hands moved to grip her hips as she continued to kiss his jaw and neck until she reached a sweet spot right between his neck and collarbone that resulted in a purr leaving his throat. "Honey~" Jacob whimpered, his eyes closed as if he was holding back everything, trying to keep in control. "What's wrong?" Honey asked sweetly, her eyes wide with innocence that made Jacob groan ─ he knew exactly what she was doing but he wouldn't do anything without her consent and without her resting from the accident.

"You're a tease, Princess," Jacob told her before he moved one hand to cup her chin and lift her face to his own. "And you will be punished for it... once you're healed... and rested... and consenting... I will make you pay for your teasing, princess~" Jacob taunted in a purr that made Honey's lower stomach tingle in a way she had never felt before in her entire life, she audibly whimpered making Jacob's eyes darken for a moment before he kissed her softly. "Get some sleep, Princess," Jacob told her as he pulled back, brushing her hair out of her face before settling in to sleep. Honey laid her head back on his chest realising that she had taunted the beast and she was... excited for future fun.

The next day, Honey noticed that mopey Bella had returned and she was consistently daydreaming or simply disassociating. Honey was worried, she knew that Bella's happiness was temporary due to her broken heart but she feared just how far Bella may go just to feel Edward's presence again ─ even though it was a delusion. The two friends accompanied by Jacob had headed into the hospital to see Angela, the girl was awake and smiling along with apologising for the accident but both Bella and Honey waved her off and told her she wasn't at fault. They stayed for a few hours until Angela's mom showed up, they said their farewells and headed off.

Jacob ─ driving Bella's truck ─ headed to the Reservation as they needed to discuss what they were going to do about Victoria. Honey was sat in the middle while Bella stared blankly out the window, the blonde frowned slightly looking at the Swan girl before sighing and leaning into Jacob's side. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer, he couldn't believe how much had changed in these past five-ish months. He had been crushing on Bella upon her return but then he heard all about Honey Parker, she sparked his interest and desire to meet her just by the way Bella would talk about her. And then, he phased ─ completely changing everything he knew.

Jacob was certain that if he didn't Imprint on Honey, he would loathe everything about being a Shifter. But with her by his side, she made all the negatives feel worth it. And if she turned out to be immortal like they all assume, he would continue phasing just to stay by her side. Jacob had a vision, a cabin in the woods near the beach where they would live; he would build the home himself. They would have a veggie patch and maybe even a few chickens or possibly pigs. He could faintly hear the pitter patter of feet echoing through their home along with sweet laughter, he didn't know if Honey could have children ─ he hoped they could ─ but he'd enjoy at least trying.

"What are you smiling about?" Honey asked Jacob in a soft whisper so she wouldn't disturb Bella. "You. Us. Our future," Jacob answered her in an equally soft voice, he glanced down at her for a moment before focusing back on the road. "What about it?" Honey asked as she moved to look at him, she was intrigued. "You and me, living in a cabin by the beach on the Rez. A few chickens, veggie patch and warm home," Jacob said to her, he left out the children as he didn't want to pressure her like that. Honey grinned at that, her heart skipped a beat as she pictured it in her own mind until something else stood out, "A few kids?"

Jacob looked back down at her with a slightly stunned expression, "I mean, yeah. I'd like that. But..." Honey frowned as Jacob trailed off, "We don't know if I can have kids..." They were both quiet at that, Honey lowered her gaze before taking a steady breath and looking up at Jacob. He pulled the truck to the front of Emily's house and Bella got out, she noticed the look on Honey's face and left them to continue their talk without her interruption. Honey cupped Jacob's face in her hands, she turned his head to make eye contact with her, "One day, we will have kids of our own. Whether I carry them or someone else does for us. We have options if that's what we want."

Jacob leaned forward to kiss her, she melted into his kiss until someone banged on the front of the truck startling them apart. The two looked outside to see Jared standing there with a large grin on his face, "We hear his thoughts too, Honey bun! And he is excited~" Jacob sneered at the teasing man who was dancing around, Honey shook her head and moved away as Jacob climbed out and began chasing after Jared who shrieked like a woman as he rushed off away from Jacob. Embry stepped up to the door and offered his hand out to Honey, she smiled and took it allowing him to help her out of Bella's truck. "They'll be back soon," Embry told Honey. "I know. Let's see what Emily's cooked up for us today," Honey replied.
