(In which Nightmare wants to restart-OOF, ISPOILEDALLOFYOU) (BTW, part 2 of Be Your Light)

** Third Person's P.O.V **

Cross almost choked upon hearing those words. Is he serious? All this time, Cross thought that he just wants to be darkness. Now, he wants to be that person who gives Cross hope, love, affection, trust, home, life, and warmth. What made him think like that?

Cross just stood there, shocked, not knowing what to say.

"I know that I've hurt you, well, abused you, used you as a guinea pig and all that. For that, I'm sorry-"

"WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, what am I hearing here? The Lord of Nightmares ApOlOgIzIng????"

Cross cuts him off in utter shock, not once has Cross seen him apologize, not even sincerely.

"Wow, you even have the nerve to cut me off, I swear, Ink is rubbing off you these days."

"Huh? I've been around you for a few days, I don't see a single drop of goo on me."

"I'M NOT MADE OUT OF INK, I JUST SAID THAT INK-YOUR OVERPROTECTIVE, HARD-TO-CONVINCE MOM IS STARTING TO TAKE A TOLL ON YOU WHICH MEANS YOU ACT A LITTLE BIT LIKE INK."

Cross made an 'O' shape with his mouth, finally getting what Nightmare meant.

"But hey, I don't whine and complain all the time right?"

"Nope, not even once."

Cross giggled, Nightmare softened at this, his laugh is adorable, makes him wanna squish his chubby, bony cheek. Like, who wouldn't? To him, Cross is more adorable than Blueberry, his words not mine. "Damn, you're so adorable, it's a shame you're not mine yet."

Cross blushed, for now, he's starting to think that Nightmare is serious about being the light of his life, correction, love of his life. Cross DID trust Nightmare in the first place, even when he abused him, broke him, tried to kill him. But he still loved Nightmare even if he did all those things to him.

"Nightmare, are serious about that?"

"About what?"

"About being the light, are you sure you would do that, I didn't know you wanna give up your evilness for my cuteness but seriously, you're not even the type to give affection, especially to me."

Cross gave a cute pout that was hard to resist. "Yes-"

"Before you say yes, don't you have to go through someone before being the light? Y'know, Ink? He still doesnt approve of me being with you, he even told me to stay away from you."

"It doesn't matter what he says, as long as you're fine with it, then, I have nothing to go through. So do you wanna?"

"I think I have loved you long enough, Nightmare, it's about time you ask me out." With what Cross said, they shared a small passionate kiss to seal it.

(What I mean about 'Being the Light' in this story is that you will give up everything, like your position of being a mayor or a teacher, your dream of becoming an artist to be with the person that you love and that you wronged before, you would be that person to give love, affection, warmth, shelter, food to that person, you would do anything to have them by your side, you would let them hurt you if you hurt them, you would sacrifice your life for them, even die for them. Although, you don't have to give up everything and your jobs, if it means to support your dream job, and for the both of you, then you don't have to necessarily give it up. It's not compulsory, some people just wants to be their love of their life, giving up some things for them but not really calling it 'being the light', they consider it as a normal and healthy relationship, but in 'being the light' relationships, its serious but healthy. Sealing it with a kiss would mark the day that will change forever. And would be the day you start celebrating anniversaries about it. So the time they celebrate their anniversary, it's the time that they decided to be with each other forever.)
