* Dazzline *

    I hit my palms on the desk twice and everyone stood up to greet Mrs Ada.

   "Good morning Mrs Ada! We are happy to see you!" Everyone chorused with a big smile on our faces.

   Well, Mrs Ada has this good vibes that she always manages to rub off on all of us.

   "Good morning students! You can have your seat", she replied with a big smile on her faces. "I have something to tell you all" she announced and her face became serious.

  "As you all know, your senior WAEC and NECO is supposed to take place next term, which is third term", she paused and most of us nodded our head positively.

   She looked around the class and her gaze landed in mine. "Are you okay Dazzline?" She asked with concern laced in her voice.

   "Yes ma" I replied with a faked smile. She nodded and looked away. Truth is, ever since Dad came back, I've been miserable. My room has become my best friend. I barely go out now. And I haven't seen Gabriel since three days. Three days!!

   "As I was saying, Your WAEC and NECO is supposed to take place next term, but it's taking place this term instead....."

"Ehn? Why naa? We haven't prepared!" Someone whined, interrupting Mrs Ada.

   "I know, I know, that's why you all will be taking extra lessons for three hours after school and five hours on Saturdays", she replied with a smile and most of us groaned.

  "Your exams will be taking place during the second term holidays. And your jamb too. So study hard" she added and proceeded to write on the board; revision of last terms work and scheme of work.

I was sitting at the cafeteria, staring at my lunch of meat pie and fanta when I suddenly felt someone's heated gaze on me.

   I turned to look and Alas! It was my boyfriend.

"Gosh! Gabriel you scared me!" I exclaimed with a bored tone.

  "Stop lying. You don't even look scared" he replied while taking a bite of his sausage rolls.

   "True", I nodded as I took a sip from my fanta. "So, how long have you been sitting here?" I asked and he stared at his watch.

  "Ten minutes" he replied. "You didn't notice" he added.

"Sorry" I muttered.

"What's going on with you?" He asked me with a worried look on his face. He laced his fingers with mine.

    "I'm your boyfriend, Dazzline, why am I here if you won't tell me anything? I get that you must be going through a lot but still, you should share your problems with me. It feels like you don't trust me" he said and his voice sounded really pained.

   Why is he talking like this? He's not about to....oh no! He can't!

"I don't know why I'm your boyfriend if you won't tell me anything Dazzline" he added, "maybe...."

   "You're not about to break up with me are you?!" I blurted out, interrupting him. My curiosity was already getting the best of me.

  He stared at me like I was crazy before he burst into laughter. "God, no! Why would you even think that?!" He asked admist laughter.

  "Well, you were talking like you're gonna break up with me", I replied.

  "Exactly what did I say that made you think I was gonna break up with you?" He asked, leaning closer to me. His breath smelt like vanilla ice cream instead of the sausage rolls he was eating.

  "Why do you smell like Vanilla ice cream?" I asked, leaning closer to him, so close that there was just a little space between us. I smirked mischievously.

  He looked at me weirdly before shaking his head. "this is Ice cream" he said, pointed to the small plastic of ice cream on our table.

  "Well can I taste it?" I asked, the smirk not leaving my face.

    "Yeah" he replied, pushing the plastic to me.

  "From your mouth" I said and he grinned.

   "Okay" he replied, pulling me to sit on his laps, like he was ready to kiss me, but instead, he whispered, "but we're in the cafeteria, babe, a teacher can come in".

My cheeks began to burn as I felt his hot breath on my neck.

Damn! The things you do to me, Gabriel.

  I shoved him playfully and pouted, crossing my arms. "You're so wicked!" I whined.

  He smirked then his face turned serious. "You haven't answered my question. What exactly did I say that made you think I'm gonna break up with you?"  He asked.

   I began you think hard. Think, Zari, think! He must have said something...oh c'mon brain! Don't tell me he said nothing!

   "Well....I thought you were gonna say it" I replied and buried my face in my palms. "God! This is so...I don't even know what to call it!", I muttered.

  "Dazzline, I can never leave you. My heart beats for you!. I feel loved when I'm with you. Why would I leave you?", He asked seriously, staring straight into my eyes.

   I smiled. "I'll say that's cute but don't you think that's the lyrics of that forever song?" I asked teasingly.

   He laughed shortly. "But seriously, Dazzline, you complete me" he said and kissed my knuckles. "And besides, your whole family has threatened to kill me if I ever break up with you" he added and we laughed.

I sighed and buried my face in my palms again. "Dad's back" I finally said.

  He took the ice cream plastic and put a spoon full into his mouth. "I know", was his short reply and my eyes went wide as saucers.

"You knew?!" I exclaimed in disbelief. "And you were telling me to tell you what was wrong with me when you know what is wrong all this time?! How did you even know?!" I asked.

"Nathan told me" he replied, "and I wanted to hear it from you".

   I sighed. "Sorry I didn't tell you on time", I apologized, "he's back because he needs cash. A million dollars".

  "Are you joking?" Gabriel asked, sounding very surprised.

   "I wish, but no. I don't even know when he's going. And, I can't see his damn face!" I replied, feeling very frustrated.

   "Calm down babe. It's not like you won't eventually see his face" he said as he pulled me into his arms. I felt relaxed and warmer.

   "I won't see his face" I replied.

"You will. It's not like you can lock yourself in your room all day long" he argued and I shook my head.

  "What do you think I've been doing since he came home?", I asked and answered my own question, "locking myself in my room of course".

    He laughed and kissed my forehead. "It'll be fine, my heart".
