1.5 | Nicky's Bar
· · ─────── ·✞· ─────── · ·
NICKY'S BAR was the place to be in the town of Ispwich, Massachusetts. It was known to be the hang out spot for the students of Spenser Academy along with the local drunks and motorcycle club. It also happened to be the spot for the Heirs of Ispwich who often spent nights playing pool and consuming their weight in fries and soda. The owner Nicky was a hard-ass who didn't tolerate bullshit, this meant that it was a fairly safe place to party and have fun without risks of trouble.
When Andromeda walked in to the bar, she ignored the eyes that followed her along the way. She had been showered in compliments from Chase who was liking the way the black tennis skirt and red cropped shirt was looking on her. Kate dragged Andromeda along with her, waving at familiar faces and smiling at new ones. It wasn't long till they found a table for them to sit at, Andromeda quickly sat down and adjusted her skirt to cover more of her legs. "Relax, Andy," Chase cooed as he sat next to her, "You're decent." Andromeda looked up at Chase as he added, "And beautiful."
The compliment didn't make her swoon, something in Chase's eyes seemed to be holding back; a subtle peek of something dark behind his steel blue gaze. "Maybe the next movie, we could see it together," Chase offered hoping for a date. "Uh, I'm not too big on movies," Andromeda responded making Kate nod in agreement. "She's a bookworm rather than a movie buff," Kate remarked with a teasing smile, "It took Reid weeks to convince her to watch the Harry Potter movies with him 'cause she preferred the books."
Andromeda blushed at the mention of Reid, something that hadn't gone unnoticed by Chase who clenched his jaw for a moment before relaxing into a smile. "I'm getting a drink," Andromeda told the two before making her way over to the bar, she noticed Sarah walk by and they shared a smile before Andromeda focused on Nicky who was already working on her usual order. Chase kept his eyes on Andromeda, his gaze moved from her ankles, up her legs, admiring the curve of her ass through the skirt before landing on the back of her head.
Over by the pool tables, Reid and Tyler had arrived earlier but was too distracted hustling occupants for money to see who had arrived in the crowd of people. However, Tyler had taken notice of Chase's wandering eyes directed at Andromeda causing his gaze to narrow harshly, slapping against Reid's chest. The blond huffed at the action and went to scold the boy when Tyler pointed towards the scene he was witnessing. Once Reid took notice of it, he sneered at Chase, unhappy with the way he was looking at Andromeda.
Reid handed his pool cue to Tyler before strutting his way over to Andromeda, placing himself behind her to block Chase's view of her. "No hello for me? When did you get here?" Reid whispered to Andromeda as she turned around, he had her trapped against the bar; not that she minded. "Sorry, Kate dragged me in so I didn't get the chance to check if you were here," Andromeda replied in a shy tone, she couldn't seem to understand why she was feeling this way in front of Reid but a large part of her was enjoying it; And Reid noticed instantly.
"How was the movie?" Reid asked in a teasing tone, leaning in closer for both his own need and to show Chase that he stood no chance. "It was meh," Andromeda said with a chuckle, "How's hustling going?" Reid smirked as he reached up and held a small bunch of her hair, twirling it in his fingers as he replied, "It'd be a lot better with my lucky charm nearby." Andromeda blushed at his words but happily accepted, he grabbed her hand in one of his while grabbing her drink in the other; leading her over to the table where Tyler was waiting with a smirk on his face.
"Hey baby boy," Andromeda greeted Tyler, kissing his cheek before she moved to lean against the table. Reid handed her drink over before taking the pool cue, setting up the pool balls for another game. She slowly sipped her drink watching Reid closely, admiring the way his black beanie seemed to push his hair further down over his gorgeous blue eyes. Even admiring the way his arms flexed as he leant over the table to hit the white ball, his sweater sleeves rolled up revealing his forearms and fingerless gloves adorning his hands as always; it was a signature fashion choice for him.
Reid could feel her eyes on his, goosebumps forming over his skin as warmth flooded his chest bringing a smirk to his face. He and Tyler continued their casual game of pool waiting for people to place bets against them. Andromeda fell into her mind, she seemed to be seeing Reid in a new light recently. He had always been someone important to her, a shoulder to cry on and most of all, someone who did whatever he needed in order to put a smile on her face. It was a new feeling but it wasn't overwhelming, she almost felt safe knowing the changing feelings were for Reid Garwin.

POGUE PARRY walked into Nicky's and greeted familiar faces before approaching his girlfriend who was sitting with Chase, Caleb and Sarah. "Oh, hey, baby! You missed a great movie," Kate told Pogue as he leaned down and kissed her, taking the seat next to the girl he loved. "Yeah. I had to get my bike fixed," Pogue replied to her. "That's cool. Chase hung out and kept me and Andy company," Kate informed him, the boy in mention grinned at that. "I'll just bet he did," Pogue remarked with his gaze set on Chase, he knew the boys intentions with Andromeda and he did not like it whatsoever; neither did Caleb.
The silence that fell over the table was awkward from Pogue's insinuation, Kate and Sarah sharing a look while Chase clenched his jaw realising that the boy didn't like him getting close to Andromeda. "What's up, man?" Pogue asked removing his jacket to reveal the muscle shirt he was wearing, his arms now on show distracting Kate from anything else going on around her. "It's all good," Caleb answered as Chase seemed to challenge the boy by removing his own jacket, a teasing grin on his face but something unreadable in his gaze.
"You want something to eat?" Pogue asked Kate, she nodded distractedly making him smirk, cupping her face before placing a deep passionate kiss on her lips. He then got up and headed to the bar, "Can I get a burger, fries and a coke?" Nicky nodded as Pogue looked over to see Reid, Tyler and Andromeda by the pool tables. "Corner pocket," Reid called out before hitting the shot perfectly. "Great shot," Tyler complimented. "I deserve a prize," Reid bragged. "Yeah, give him a kiss, Baby boy," Andromeda teased as she placed her empty drink to the side. "I can't, he'd fall in love with me," Tyler remarked with a laugh.
"How long you guys been here?" Pogue asked them as he rested his arm over Andromeda's shoulders, pulling her comfortably into his side. "For a bit," Reid answered with a shrug, "Just been playing Aaron and Bordy..." Andromeda nodded, the boys had been kicking the Jocks' ass in pool technically. "And I got here with Kate and Chase," Andromeda told him as she leaned her head against his shoulder. "He didn't... make you uncomfortable, did he?" Pogue asked catching Reid and Tyler's full attention on her. "Uh, no. I mean, he sat close to me in the car and was asking questions about me," Andromeda replied with a slight frown.
Her eyes wandered over to Chase who was playing foosball against Caleb, "But I think Kate noticed that I wasn't feeling it and she pulled me to sit on the other side of her so I didn't sit next to him." Pogue nodded and watched Chase close, it wasn't that he doubted someone's interest in Andromeda─ she was one of the most desirable girls in town─ but rather, Chase's eagerness to get as close as possible even when Andromeda seemed uninterested. "If he bothers you, let one of us know, okay sunshine?" Pogue requested, she nodded and kissed his cheek before heading over to the bar for a refill.
"So, you actually gonna make a move tonight or let the new guy worm his way in?" Pogue asked Reid, his gaze warning Reid that time was running out for the boy. "Uh, yeah... I have a plan," Reid replied with certainty, Tyler laughing amused before adding, "He means, I made the plan. I can handle this better than Kate's idea." Pogue chuckled while Reid furrowed his brows, "Kate had a plan?" Tyler sighed and looked at his best friend, "Uh, yeah. New guy to make you jealous." Reid scoffed with an eye roll at that, "Of course that was her plan." Pogue shook his head as Andromeda walked back with a new glass of coke.
"Sierra is here again," Andromeda commented with a sly grin. One of Nicky's waitresses was a total bitch to everyone, belittling whoever she could while acting like the queen of Ispwich. Plus, she had a small fling with Tyler and hurt him which had angered Andromeda but the boys stopped her from hurting the girl. Instead, they tended to mock her; cruel? Yes. Deserved? A mega yes. They looked over to the waitress, her skirt loose around her body as she leaned against the bar. "Blue, cotton," Reid remarked knowing how their game worked. "Pink, lace," Tyler added in his own bet.
"Yellow, cotton," Pogue suggested making Andromeda scoff and shake her head. "Oh please, Sierra hasn't worn panties since she was twelve," Andromeda told them before her eyes flashed orange, Sierra's skirt rising to reveal her bare ass; she quickly pushed her skirt down and looked around for the culprit responsible. "Yeah, thanks boys," Andromeda teased as the three handed over the usual cash bet, she winked at the three before shoving the cash into her bra. Her action wasn't unnoticed by Reid who smirked, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her into his side.
Pogue left the trio to their pool games, Reid now playing up against Aaron. Andromeda leaned in against Tyler as they watched, the boy keeping her close due to Bordy and Ryan's wandering gazes. Tyler, ever the observer, noticed how Andromeda's eyes were focused purely on Reid as he played pool, her eyes admiring the way he flexed with every hit and the way he smirked or huffed a chuckle at Aaron's failed shots. Being the silent observer of the group had its positives like noticing a friends change of perspective towards another.

CHASE AND CALEB were playing foosball against each other, the former watching Caleb close for a moment before glancing towards Pogue and then the three by the pool table. "You guys are real tight, huh?" Chase expressed to Caleb. "Families are real close. We kind of grew up together. We're kind of like brothers, us guys," Caleb replied to Chase with a shrug. It wasn't like it wasn't the truth, they were close families and maybe the boys wouldn't be as close if it wasn't for their secret underneath but he wouldn't trade the boys for anything.
"That must have been nice," Chase remarked, an undertone of bite in his words that went unnoticed by Caleb. "And your sister?" Chase questioned, a subtle smirk on his face, "She's pretty, smart and cool. Triple threat." Caleb scoffed at that, he didn't like Chase's tone but to refrain from causing a problem, he brushed the anger aside. "Andy's the glue of our group. The boys respect her, that's all I care about," Caleb responded as he focused on trying to beat Chase as foosball. "So the three are like additional brothers for her," Chase asked, a hinting undertone.
"I wouldn't say that about Reid," Pogue spoke as he stepped up next to them, "If anything, Reid and Andromeda were made for one another." Chase huffed a laugh but unnoticed by Caleb and Pogue, he glared at Reid who had kissed the side of Andromeda's head as he walked by her; his action made her blush causing Tyler to poke her side and tease her for it. Chase won against Caleb who chuckled as he said, "The best two out of three." They shook hands as Pogue spoke up, "Hey, Chase. Mind if I get a game?" Chase motioned for him to go for it.
"Reid and Tyler are here," Pogue told Caleb with an undertone message in regards to their earlier phone call. "Where?" Caleb asked. "Pool tables. Andy too. With Aaron and his boys," Pogue answered his best friend as the two played against each other. "Great. That's trouble," Caleb commented, he just hoped with Andromeda around, they'd behave. "So Caleb tells me you guys are swimmers," Chase spoke up interrupting their private conversation.
"Spenser's best. State finals twice," Pogue answered with pride, "Andromeda's quite a good swimmer too but she tends to avoid the girls team." Chase nodded impressed about that. "I swam for Hastings. I was their freestyle man," Chase bragged about himself, a proud grin on his face. "You won't be here," Pogue told him, "That's Caleb's swim." Chase nodded with a laugh, his usual smile resting on his face but something unreadable burning in his eyes.

WITH KATE AND SARAH, the two girls were eating the fries that Pogue had bought and were watching between the boys by the foosball table and the trio by the pool tables. "Okay, what just happened?" Sarah asked confused. "What?" Kate questioned unsure of Sarah's concern. "We were sitting here together, having fun... and now we're watching them have fun. Even Andy is watching over there," Sarah explained in disbelief. "That's what girls do. You know boys and their toys," Kate said with a smile, she had given up on trying in the past.
"Uh-uh. Give me a quarter," Sarah requested as she stood up with a grin. "Why?" Kate asked confused. "Come on, just give me a quarter. I'll show you what girls do," Sarah remarked with a teasing grin on her face. "Fine," Kate handed over a quarter and watched as Sarah made her way over to the Jukebox where she pays and changes the tune to Joan Jett's 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll'. She started to dance, strutting her way over to the foosball table catching the attention of all three boys in the process.
"Hi," Sarah greeted with eyes filled with mischief, she grabbed his hand in her own and pulled him onto the dancefloor. Caleb laughs but follows her movements, the two close as their bodies would allow them. Pogue smirked from where he stood before walking over to Kate, grabbing her hand and pulling her along. "Let's show them what we got," Pogue remarked making Kate laugh, she grinned as he pulled her back flush against his chest; holding her hips as they swayed together to the song.
Andromeda looked over in amusement, she and Tyler singing along to the music and waving their hands in the air like idiots. Reid glanced at Andromeda, if he wasn't in the middle of a game against Aaron for cash, he'd have grabbed her and danced with her. Everyone within the bar were feeling lighter with the new atmosphere of dancers, girls actually keeping their partners attention on them as they danced together. Sarah and Kate shared a look, the blonde winking at her best friend as they danced with the respective partners; simply enjoying life.
