THE NEW GUY jumped in between Caleb and Aaron with a larger than life smile on his face and a chuckle leaving his lips. He turned his attention to Kira, "You were being kinda bitchy." Andromeda snorted at that, the new guy smirked her way before looking back at Aaron. Andromeda felt a familiar tug of Power as Reid's eyes flash fiery orange from the pupil out causing Bordy Becklin to projectile vomit on the back of Aaron's jacket.
Sarah squealed and jumped back as Andromeda clasped her hand to her mouth, a grin hiding beneath it. Reid instantly felt the way Andromeda's emotions changed from anxious to amused, he felt accomplished now that he had been the hero of the situation rather than the new kid who seemed too interested in Andromeda.
Before anything more could happen, a student stepped up onto the DJ booth with a megaphone and called out, "Guys, Dylan just called. He said he saw three cop cars headed this way on Old Dell Road." The students of Spenser Academy immediately began to scatter, running through the trees towards their cars to high-tail it out of there. Pogue held Kate's hand as he jogged alongside the others, Caleb kept close to Sarah while Reid pulled Andromeda along with him.
"You need a ride?" Caleb asked the girls, he wouldn't leave them behind. "No, Sarah drove us here," Kate answered for them but she smiled when Andromeda grabbed her bag and waved, following behind Reid and Tyler. "Will I see you back at the dorms?" Pogue asked his girlfriend. "It's getting late. I'm just gonna crash. Call me in the morning?" Kate replied as she leaned forward and shared a kiss with him.
"I could use a lift," The new guy asked Sarah though his eyes wandered over to Andromeda again as she pulled on Reid's jacket complaining about feeling too exposed now. "No problem," Sarah replied, a smirk seeing the way he was looking at Andromeda. "Hey, nice going back there," Caleb spoke directly towards the new guy before offering his hand, "Caleb."
"Chase," The new guy introduced shaking Caleb's hand, "Thought that guy and I were about to go at it. His friends puking sure came at an opportune time." Andromeda furrowed her brows at the way Chase said those words, she tilted her head ignoring as Reid zipped up the jacket; he was also eager to see her wearing his clothing. "Didn't it though?" Reid mocked playfully.
"Good night," Sarah said to Caleb, the boy smiling her way feeling as though no one else could compare to her. He was starting to wonder if this was how Reid felt everytime he looked at Andromeda, 'cause if it was, then he fully understood the blond Warlock. "Hey, guy, let's go. We gotta go before the cops come," Kate spoke up pulling Caleb and Sarah from their gazing.
While Kate and Chase got into Sarah's car, the Heirs of Ipswich climbed into Tyler's with Andromeda taking the passenger seat as she always did. "Sarah wants you, man," Pogue said to Caleb as he turned to him, the long haired boy stuck in the middle seat. "Oh definitely," Andromeda spoke up with a teasing grin, "I bet you'll be together by the end of this week." The boys laughed before Tyler smirked mischievously.
"Chase sure seemed interested in you," Tyler told Andromeda who blushed. "No way," Andromeda remarked while Reid glared out the window. "That's bullshit," Reid snapped causing Andromeda to frown, she wasn't sure if he was being a protective friend or doubted someone would be into her. "Oh, now. Don't be jealous, Reid," Pogue teased as Andromeda had zoned out, she was beginning to overthink. "Andy, relax," Caleb called soothingly.
Meanwhile, Sarah can't seem to get her car started so she opens her door to speak to the other car, "My car won't start!" Caleb leaned closer to the window, "Hop in with us." Sarah smile amused before claiming, "I can't just leave it here!" Andromeda sighed and climbed out of the car, "I got it." The little brunette walked over to Sarah's car and lifted the hood, she looked down at it allowing her eyes to flash a fiery orange searching for the cars fault.
Reid smirked and climbed out of the car, strutting his way over before placing his hand on the lifted hood and leaning closer to Andromeda. "Doll, I know you've got mechanic experience but we're in a hurry," Reid whispered, his lips brushing Andromeda's ear causing her to shiver involuntarily from the action. Reid's eyes flash a fiery orange despite Sarah and Chase watching curiously.
"Try it again," Reid called out, Sarah followed his instructions and turned the key in the ignition bringing the car to life once again. "Whoo! Thank you!" Sarah called out before closing her door as Reid closed the hood of the car. He slipped his hand into Andromeda's and tugged her along to Tyler's car as sirens echoed closer, a police car appearing in their view.
"Gotta bolt. Move!" Kicking Tyler out of the driver's seat, "To the back, Baby boy." Tyler dejectedly climbed into the back seat with Pogue and Caleb, Reid pulled Andromeda in across him before closing the door as she settled in the passenger seat. Reid started up the car, slamming the pedal to the floor and taking off quickly, laughing in amusement and joy as the police car soon followed behind them.
"No sweat," Reid commented as he moved one hand off of the steering wheel to rest it on Andromeda's thigh, the girl blushing from it but she kept her focus on the police car gaining on them. "We gotta pull over," Caleb told Reid as he looked back. "You wanna stop? That'll impress Harvard," Reid remarked in a teasing tone. "Come on, Cal, have a little fun," Andromeda added with her own smirk, the words making the others laugh; she trusted Reid's driving.
"All right, what the Hell?" Caleb caved with his sisters sweet words, "Let's lose them. Cut across Marblehead. We might as well have some fun while we're at it. Lose them!" Reid laughed as Tyler and Pogue held amused smiles at their Covenant Leaders words. "Step on it. Go!" Tyler called back as the car swerved through the woods heading towards the edge they were familiar with. "Though you were worried about your car, baby boy?" Andromeda teased making Tyler scoff playfully.
"All right, guys, you ready?" Reid asked as they drove in a straight line across the dirt, a lighthouse in the distance through the fog. "Come on, Caleb. It's gonna take all of us," Pogue encouraged his best friend. "Ready, doll?" Reid asked Andromeda softly, smirking as her eyes flashed orange before filling with black. "Let's do it, pretty boy," Andromeda replied, the new pet name hitting Reid's chest and flooding it with warmth. Reid accelerated with a grin on his face, all five teens eyes were as black as night.
The police car behind them was honking their horn in warning for the upcoming cliff edge that dropped over sixty feet into the sea. "HARRY POTTER CAN KISS MY ASS!" Reid exclaimed loudly bringing a laugh out of Andromeda as the car flew over the edge disappearing into the fog. The police car broke into an immediate stop, they approach the edge and look over but there is no sign of the car below.
Suddenly, Tyler's car slams back down on the ground behind the police car, the headlights shining on the confused police officers. The teenagers inside were laughing, Andromeda sent the officers a tinkle wink as Reid grinned, he backed the car up beforr swerving it around and speeding off into the fog. "Son of a bitch!" One of the officers exclaimed, his realisation that it was the Heirs of Ipswich inside the car.

BACK AT SPENSER, Chase walked alongside Kate and Sarah down the dormitory hall ensuring they got to their dorm safely. "We must be the last ones in," Chase commented regarding the silence despite the amount of students who had been attending the party. "Well, this is us," Kate told Chase who stood in front of the two girls, his eyes widened at the sight of a spider on Kate's shoulder; he reached out and grabbed it. "Ew, oh my God!" Kate exclaimed as Chase smiled, dropping it to the ground before stepping on it, squishing it to nothing.
"Hate those things," Sarah remarked with a slight shudder. "And they're all over the place here," Kate told Sarah before sighing, "Plus, I'd avoid ever visiting Andy's room. She has a tarantula as a pet." Chase perked up at the mention of Andromeda Danvers, "That's pretty cool. Maybe I could ask to see it." Kate raised a brow at Chase's interest in the younger Danvers. "Thank you," Kate added as she motioned to her shoulder, she wanted to see if he'd flirt with her; if he did, he wasn't worth Andromeda's time.
"Aw, see? Chivalry's not dead after all," Sarah teased with her own smirk. "No, it just transferred in," Chase replied with his own teasing tone. "Hey, we're gonna go into town tomorrow for some things. Do you need to pick up any stuff?" Kate asked the new transfer, though it was the last night of Summer break, they had one more day before classes that was purely for study and preparation for the year.
"Is, uh, Andromeda gonna be there?" Chase asked while scratching the back of his neck, an almost nervous look on his face. Sarah and Kate shared a smile before the latter spoke, "Yes, she will be." Chase nodded at that, his usual grin resting on his face as he replied, "Sure. I'm in 311, just call." Chase left the girls to their lonesome, the blonde turned to look at Kate. "You playing matchmaker?" Sarah asked her new friend. "Not really," Kate replied as they walked into their shared dorm.
"What do you mean?" Sarah asked confused, removing her cropped top. "You see, Reid has been in love with Andy for years but despite being a classic flirt, he cannot seem to take the next step," Kate explained as she changed into her pyjama's. "So your plan is make him jealous using Chase?" Sarah questioned with uncertainty. "Look, Chase would understand and besides, my loyalty lies with my boyfriend and therefore, with his friends. If I can get Reid and Andy together, I'll sacrifice anyone," Kate playfully explained, Sarah shaking her head with a smile.
"So why are they called the 'Heir of Ipswich'? What are they? Like a boy band with a female lead?" Sarah asked teasingly, she was intrigued by the five of them; especially Caleb Danvers. "You know what? I like you. You're funny. Not like all the other stuck-up bitches," Kate remarked with a laugh, she was liking her new roommate even more. "No. They're supposedly descendants of five families that settled the Ipswich Colony in the 1600s. Old money," Kate answered Sarah's initial question with what she knew.
"You know, Caleb was checking you out tonight. If it were me, I'd go for it," Kate encouraged knowing Andromeda would be doing the same, the younger Danvers was always giving her brother crap about getting a girlfriend. "Why?" Sarah asked as she adjusted her blankets. "He's just one of those majorly good guys, you know?" Kate answered her honestly, he indeed was the golden boy of Spenser Academy. "Well, how do you mean?" Sarah questioned intrigued.
"Well, like, he could stay here in the dorms and party with the rest of us, but he stays at home to take care of his and Andy's mom," Kate explained with a soft expression, "And he does everything to look after his sister. Protecting her and letting her enjoy her life without worries." Sarah smiled gently at those words, a boy who respected the women around him was bound to respect the woman he dates. "What's wrong with their mother?" Sarah was worried that maybe she was sick or something, she wanted to support her new friends.
"After Caleb and Andromeda's dad died, she became a bit of an alcoholic," Kate answered before a deep frown appeared on her face, "Andromeda is her favourite and trust me, that's not a blessed title. Her mother pushed for high expectations and for Andromeda to just marry rich." Sarah frowned and shook her head, "Has it always been that way?" Kate shook her head, "No. Only after their father died. Andy says its the alcohol but Caleb just tries to keep them apart." The room fell silent at those words.
"So is he seeing anyone?" Sarah asked to break the melancholy air, Kate smirking at the question. "So we are interested," She teased the blonde who rolled her eyes fondly. "So who's the fifth?" Sarah asked confusing Kate for a moment. "Fifth what?" Kate asked. "Well, you said five families," Sarah pointed out clearing Kate's confusion. "They say the fifth was killed off during the Salem witch-hunt," Kate answered with a shrug of her shoulders. "What?" Sarah asked stunned. "Cool, huh?" Kate laughed. "Or creepy," Sarah remarked ending the conversation.

AT THE CLIFF where the Heirs had driven off, officers Byers and Reeves stood with the Police Captain, Gerry Valdez. "Couldn't see nothing but their taillights in the damn fog," Officer Byers spoke up, "But I swear to God it sure seemed like they went right off the damn cliffs." Captain Valdez looked at Officer Byers with disbelief before saying, "What you were probably looking at... were the aircraft warning lights on the Marblehead Lighthouse." The two officers shared a look of uncertainty, they were sure of what they saw.
"I'm telling you, it was those damn Heirs," Officer Reeves commented annoyed, the mention of the Heirs of Ipswich caught Captain Valdez' attention. Before he could speak, the radio caught his focus, "Captain, we have a suspect vehicle with occupant back near the Dells, Respond and advise." The Captain looked towards the cliff edge for a moment before walking to his car and heading towards the officer calling for assistance. His mind spiralling about the mention of the Ipswich Heirs, the old families with many secrets.
Upon reaching the woods, Captain Valdez walked towards the vehicle in the rain with officers trailing behind him. "We tried to wake him but he's passed out cold. Doors are all locked," An officer informed the Captain who nodded. "Go ahead and call it in. We're gonna need a tow," Captain Valdez told his officers before turning to knock on the window, "Hey, kid! Open up!" The boy inside didn't move to acknowledge him in any way. "Give me your flashlight," Captain Valdez requested, the officer doing so and stepping back as the Captain shone the light to look inside, the boys head turned the other way.
"Break out the rear window," Captain Valdez instructed Officer Reeves who did so, he reached in an unlocked the driver's side door. "Son," Captain Valdez spoke as he reached out to shake the boy awake however, he was stunned as the teens head rolled around to reveal the boys pale face and pale blue eyes; he was dead. "Let's report this in," Captain Valdez told the others, he looked around the woods with a sigh. When taking this job, he was sure protecting a small town like this would be easy but now a teenage boy was dead; what other surprises and secrets did Ipswich have to discover.

Rosemary Speaks. . .
I am loving Andromeda's place with the boys, are you? They're so sweet with her.
Also, how are we feeling about Kate's idea to use Chase to make Reid jealous on behalf of Andromeda?
Also, differing from the movie itself, I have changed the faces of the police captain and the two officers that followed the teens. There new actors are listed in the introduction cast list. They're important for the future of this book.
(Also hinted to three characters that will come in for my original sequel)
Thoughts? Suggestions? Questions?
See you in the next chapter!
