*looking at y'all with betrayed eyes*

"Happy birthday!!" I was shocked to see my whole family standing infront of me with confetti cannons in their hands.

"Wh---what??" I asked them in shock.

"Happppyyy Birthdayyyy!!!" They again bursted another cannons and I held Sohana's hand tightly in fear.

"What happened Ruhaan?" She asked me and I gave her a nervous smile.

"Oh that, actually I always get scared to the sound of confetti cannons, like whenever they burst out." I said and she placed her hand on her forehead and shook her head.

Chachi and Ridhima came towards us. Chachi held my hand and took me inside my room.

I entered in my room and saw different type of birthday outfits.

"Wear whichever you want." Chachi said and I chose the white colour suit. I wore it and fixed my hair. Walking towards her, I touched her feet.

"God bless you, my child." He said caressing my cheeks.

"Seeing you reminds me of my Rivan." She said as tears filled in her eyes.

Today it has been 11 months since Rivan went to Bangkok. He hasn't returned yet because he has to train a designer in Bangkok. Also, he was saying that he will start his own company in Bangkok. Chachi was so happy after hearing this from him. She was so happy for her son but sometimes she misses him so much.

"Okay, everyone must be waiting for you. Let's go." She informed wiping her tears. I held her hand and caressed it.

"Chachi, don't worry Rivaan is fine and wants to build a fame for himself there. And I assure I won't let anything happen to him. If there will be any emergency, I'll immediately go to Bangkok." I said and she nodded.

We both stepped outside of our room and I saw Sohana coming outside from the guest room. She was wearing a baby pink shimmery long sleeveless gown which has slit on it's right side. She has tied her hair into a bun and was looking like a barbie doll.

"Chachi aap chaliye main aata hun." I said and she nodded.
(Aunt, you go ahead, I am coming)

After she left, I walked towards Sohana and looked at her from head to toe.

"You look enchanting." I said and her face flushed.

"You are looking...."

"Yes?"

"Like a swan." She teased me and I rolled my eyes.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes, I am. See you have wore a white dress. Swan's skin colour is also like this. White." She said and I passed her a tight-lipped smile.

"Okay, let's go." I said and she smiled. She wrapped her hand around my arm and we walked downstairs to the hall.

Everyone's attention moved towards us as I sensed that she was feeling nervous.

"No need to feel nervous. They won't doubt us." I whispered assuring her.

"Are you sure?" She asked me in a slow voice and I nodded looking at her.

We both stood in the centre and our mom walked towards us.

"Oh my god Sohana! You're looking so beautiful beta. Now you both should get married quickly." She said and I looked at Sohana, she didn't seemed happy by that news.

"What happened Sohana? Aren't you happy with this?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"No, actually it's not about the marriage. You know, my mother is no more in the world. And her last wish was that I would become a doctor and build a hospital in my own money. And, I will do the treatment of the patients without any charges. Because nowadays hospitals are robbing poor people in the name of operations, tests and many more." She said hesitantly. Me and my mother looked at each other and smiled.

She caressed her head lovingly.

"Wada karo mujhse, meri yeh Lakshmi jaisi beti ko kabhi apne zindagi se durr mat hone dena aur isse zarur mere ghar ki bahu banana." Maa said looking at me. Sohana lifted her eyelashes and looked at my mom. She hugged her tightly.

"Thank you so much aun-

"Kya yeh aunty aunty laga rakha hai, Maa bulaya karo aaj se. Main tumhe beta bula rahi hun na?" My mother said, breaking the hug and Sohana looked at me. I nodded and she moved her gaze towards my mom.
(Why are you calling me aunt? Call me mom from today. I call you my daughter then I am your mom right?)

"Maa." She whispered as tears rolled down her cheeks. She again hugged her tightly.

My mother held Sohana's hand and they both went walked towards my family leaving me alone in the centre.

I held Sohana's wrist but she shook her head and got rid of my hold. My clients came to me and wished me. They gave me many gifts and I thanked them all. I am celebrating my birthday after 2 years.

Me, my father, my chachu and the clients were talking about the business when we heard someone's footsteps.

We moved our gaze to the door and saw a feminine figure walking inside to the hall.

Her face wasn't visible because all the lights were on us. She came closer and stood in the centre gaining all the attention and lights too.

My eyes widened looking at her and a smile crept onto my face.

Lisa. My bestfriend.

She was holding a bouquet in her hands and walked towards me.

"Happy birthday Ruhaan!" She said and hugged me tightly. I was shocked by her action and I immediately looked at Sohana.

She was smiling a little looking at me but looking at her eyes, I very well knew that she didn't like this. Oh god! I again hurted my Sohana. What should I do now? What if she'll cry later for this? I couldn't tolerate her tears. I promised that I won't hurt her anymore but see I just hurted her now. Such a jerk you're Ruhaan!

I patted Lisa's head and moved back to break the hug. She looked at me with a wide smile and gave me the bouquet.

"Many many happy returns of the day. Happy birthday." She said and I smiled.

"Thank you so much, Lisa." I thanked her.

I excused myself and walked towards Sohana.

"Are you hurt?" I asked her and she shook her head

"Are you angry?" I again asked her and she again shook her head.

"Are you feeling left out?" She again shook her head.

"Are you comfortable?" She shook her head not realising my question but hurriedly nodded.

"Okay then, enjoy my baby." I said and she smiled.

"Woahhhh!!!!!!" We heard a loud scream and looked at the door. Kabir was standing there with a huge box in his hands.

He walked towards me with big steps and hugged me tightly.

"Happy birthday you wahiyaad person." He said breaking the hug and grinned at me. I rolled my eyes at him and looked at the box.

"What is this?" I asked him.

"Oh this, take this. It's your gift." He said and threw the box towards me. Thankfully, I held it.

I looked at him with wide eyes but he moved around. I placed the gift on the table where all the gifts were placed.

"Lissss!!!!" He called and Lisa walked towards him.

Lisa was about to hug him but he moved back.

"No!" He said and Lisa furrowed her brows.

"What no? We're meeting after 5 years c'mon hug me." She said but Kabir showed his hand.

"Lisa, no please. Only one girl can hug me." He told her and Lisa looked at him with a teasing smirk.

"Ummm, who is she huh?" She asked him and he shook his hand.

"One-sided." He said and Lisa nodded.

She looked at Sohana and stepped near her.

"You are?" She asked her and Sohana smiled.

"Sohana, Dr. Sohana Shekhawat." She said forwarding her hand for a handshake.

"Lisa Oberoi."

They both shake their hands and Lisa looked at me.

"Umm, gf?" Lisa asked me and I nodded.

"Don't tell anyone about it." I requested her and she gave me her widest smile.

"Okay, Ruh!" I squeezed my eyes and she giggled.

"Stop calling me Ruh. I am not a girl!" I spat and Lisa looked at Sohana.

"You know Sohana, I met Ruhaan in US. We both were in same University. Kabir was also there with us. And we both used to call Ruhaan, Ruh. Isn't it Ruh?" She said and Kabir joined her.

"Oo, Ruh! Nice name Ruh!" Sohana teased me and I looked at her with betrayed eyes.

"For god sake today is my birthday." I told them and they put their finger on their lips.

"Well Ruhaan, you always make a new gf in my absence." She said and I looked at her in shock.

What the hell is she saying?

It can affect Sohana.

"It's nothing like that Lisa, Avni was the only one whom I loved before Sohana and now Sohana. And I never knew that I would fall in love with her. It was just it happened. And now I want to spend my rest of the life with her." I said and Lisa smiled.

"Oh, Sohana you took Avni's place then." Lisa said with a wide smile.

This girl. She will always remain a dumb.

"No! She didn't took Avni's place. She created a place in my heart by her own for herself." I said and Lisa made an O face.

"Aww! What a cute couple!" She said making a heart with her hands.

"Anyways, excuse me. I want to talk to aunt." She said and I nodded.

Kabir also left us alone.

"Are you hurt by Lisa's words?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"It's okay. She didn't do it intentionally. And she is very nice." Sohana said and I nodded.

"She is. You know, she was the sweetest girl in our university." I said and looked at Sohana glaring at me.

"Oh really?"

"Yeah, really!"

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Attention please!" We heard Kabir's voice and we moved our gaze towards him.

"As y'all know, today is my bestfriend's birthday and today he successfully took one step ahead to his old age. So let's dance and celebrate for our Ruhaan who is getting older day by day." Kabir said as I gave him a deadly look.

Old? Me? Never!

A music played in the background and all the men held their women's hand. I also held Sohana's hands and we started to dance in the hall.

I was holding her by her waist and she has snaked her hands around my neck. One of our hands are entangled with each other. She was continuously staring into my eyes which made me smile.

"Kya dekh rahi hai inn ankhon main?" I asked her and she moved closer.
(What are you staring in these eyes?)

"Yeh dekh rahi hun ki kitni sundar dikh rahi hun main inn ankhon main." She whispered and I let out a soft chuckle.
(Looking at how beautiful I look in these eyes)

I twirled her around me by my index finger and lifted her up by her hips. She placed her hand on my shoulder for support and keep staring at me. I placed her on the ground on her feet.

I held one of her hand and twirled it around her, her back against my chest. We were not visible because all the lights were on the other side. I lifted her chin and made her look at me. Taking the chance, I pecked her.

Akkhaan te sajaa ke tu ae meri wafaa
Rakh apna bana ke

Her eyes widened in shock, she turned around and slapped my chest.

"Yeh kya kar rahe hain aap? Kisi ne agar dekh liya toh?" She asked me, cutely glaring at me.
(What are you doing? If anyone will see us then?)

"Shant meri jaan, kisine nahi dekha hai." I assured her and she smiled a little.
(Be calm my love, no one has seen it)

She hugged me, her head on my chest. It felt very relaxing in her arms. She is my heaven.

"Your embrace is my safest place, Ruhaan." Sohana said lifting her face up, placing her chin on my chest.

"And you are my safe place." I said and she smiled.

The lights turned on and we hurriedly separated.

"Okay, this much. Now you birthday boy, let's cut the cake!!!"

We all gathered in the centre as the caterer boy came with the cake.

I hold the knife and cut the cake.

All of the members started singing the happy birthday song and I felt like I am living my teenage life.

I giggled looking at them and after cutting the cake. I fed my Dad, Maa and after them I fed Sohana.

She was continuously staring at someone not paying attention to me. I looked at the person whom she was looking and the person was a girl who was looking at me with a shy smile on her face.

I rolled my eyes at her and turned my head back to Sohana.

That girl is one of my client and she always looks at me like this.

"Sohana," I called her and she looked at me.

"Eat the cake." I said and she smiled. She first gave me a small bite of the cake and ate the rest of it.

I moved back to my other family members and fed them. The caterer took the cake to cut it and serve to other people present there.

I was free now, so I thought to spend some time with Sohana. But she was nowhere to be seen. I walked around the hall and in a corner I noticed that girl and Sohana talking to each other. No wait! Sohana was shouting on her.

Shhe suddenly held her hand and twisted it.

"If I ever see you staring at my man again, then that day you'll know who this Sohana Shekhawat is." A proud smile crept on to my face looking at my woman fighting for me.

Oh my daisy!

She left that girl and that girl ran outside in fear.

Sohana noticed me and rolled her eyes at me.

"Mmm, jealous huh?" I teased her and she curved her lips a little.

"Jealous? Me? Never! I can never be jealous of anyone." She said with a smile and I an O face.

"Okay then I am going to talk with her. Byeeeee!" I said and she held my collar pulling me dangerously closer to her.

"Dare you do that, I'll cut your tongue so that you won't be able to talk to any girl." She threatened me and I let out a nervous laugh.

"Yeah, yeah." I said and she pulled me more closer.

"You Mr. Raichand, remember that you're my man!"
