Heather Edwards
π¦πππ‘ ππ‘π©ππ§ππ π π¬ friends and me to go on a boat ride with him today and get out of the house. So I got out of the shower, dried off, and put on my red floral bikini. After slipping on light-washed high-waisted shorts, I stuffed extra clothes in my bag. Once I grabbed my phone, towel, and sunglasses, I headed downstairs, leaving the house. As I locked the front door behind me, I heard the honk of Lori's car.
Walking up to the white Range Rover Velar, I got in, happy to see my best friend.
"Hello, my love." I smiled, fastening my seatbelt.
"Hey to you too. How are you?" Lori asked, driving away from my house.
"Good," I replied, nodding my head. The sound of someone clearing their throat startled me, and I turned to the backseat. "Oh shit, hey Kathleen and Virginia."
"Hey, girl, it's nice to see you again," Virginia said, waving at me, and I did the same.
"It's been a while since we saw you guys. You know what, we should have a pampering day." Lori suggested, keeping her eyes on the road.
"I like the sound of that," I replied, turning to the front and watching the road.
"Count me in." Our friend Kathleen responded, looking up from her phone.
"Okay, so we'll go next week. Is that good?" Lori asked, glancing at the three of us in the car.
"Sounds good to me," I said, nodding my head.
"Hell yeah, it does. I need one." Virginia replied, agreeing with me.
"Yay, a girl's day," I chirped, making the girl laugh.
Soon enough, we arrived at the dock, and I saw Sean standing in his boat once Lori parked the car.
"Nice boat, dude." Lori jokingly laughed as Sean looked up at us.
"Finally, you girls made it," Sean states, smiling at us.
"So, where'd you get this boat?" Virginia asked as Sean helped us onboard.
"It's my uncle's boat. He let me borrow it as long as I bring it back in one piece." Sean chuckled as he started the boat, roaring to life.
As the girls and I sat back for the ride and relaxed, feeling the wind blow in our hair, we laughed, taking pictures of each other. Suddenly as I turned my head, I saw a massive yacht with people on it. Seeing that and realizing what was happening, I started to freak out on the inside.
"Are we going to get on that?" I asked Sean, pointing to the yacht.
"Oh, um, yea, we are." He hesitated, "Forgot to mention that little detail." I stared at him in shock and annoyance that he didn't tell me when he knew what had happened to me.
"Oh, you think?" I said sarcastically, rolling my head.
As the girls got on the yacht, I stayed seated, not believing that Sean had brought me to a party on this large sailboat where there were many people. People who probably won't be able to hear my screams for help.
"Listen, Heather, I knew if I had told you earlier, you wouldn't have agreed to come," Sean explained, keeping eye contact as he kneeled in front of me. "I know you experienced some traumatic stuff, but all I was doing was trying to get you to get out of the house so you won't think about it."
Looking into his emerald green eyes, I saw that he was sincere in his apology. "I feel uncomfortable right now, Sean,"
"Okay, how about we go on, and Lori or I will stay with you," Sean suggested, and I sighed, nodding my head.
"Okay fine." I gave in, standing to my feet.
"There you go, champ." He said, and we got on the boat.
Sighing, I walked ahead of Sean into the main area, where I saw people all over the place talking, relaxing, and dancing, sitting out on the deck or in the hot tub. Off to the side, I saw Lori talking with some teens. It brought me back to the night Jason talked me into going upstairs with him. I could feel my anxiety rising, so I sat down, trying to calm myself. As I sat there, watching everyone socialize, I saw Kathleen and Virginia sit next to me.
"What wrong?" Kathleen asked, wrapping her arm around my shoulder.
( Kathleen left & Virginia right )
"Why?" Virginia asked, placing her hand on my arm.
"Well, ever since what happened at the last party, I'm not feeling comfortable being here," I explained, shrugging my shoulders and looking at the ground.
"Oh, I heard about what happened, and I'm sorry." Kathleen comforted me, gently rubbing my back.
"Right, so we understand how you feel." Virginia consoled, nodding her head.
"How about I go get Lori, and she can sit with you," Kathleen suggested, standing to her feet.
I nodded, watching her walk over to Lori and speak with her. Lori nodded and waved at the person she was previously speaking with and followed Kathleen over to me.
"What's wrong, baby?" Lori asked, wrapping her arm around me.
"I don't feel comfortable," I replied, fiddling with my fingernails.
"You girls go have fun. I can sit with Heather," Lori said to Kathleen and Virginia.
They nodded, waving at us before walking to a different part of the yacht. I leaned my head on Lori's shoulder, making her laugh, and she leaned hers on mine. I loved my best friend.
Sean O'Donnell
As I socialized with a couple of people, I saw Heather sitting and talking with Lori. I felt guilty for bringing her to this party, knowing what happened at the last party she had attended. Excusing myself, I walked over to the girls and sat next to Heather.
"Look, Heather, I'm sorry I didn't tell you what was going on -" I started to apologize, but Heather cut me off.
"No, it's okay, Sean," Heather replied, nodding her head.
"No, it's not. I should've told you, knowing what happened before. I just wanted you to get out and have fun." I shook my head as guilt came over me.
"I get it, Sean. You were trying to help." Heather replied, nodding her head.
"I hope you're not mad," I said, biting my bottom lip.
"No, I'm not mad at you," Heather shook her head.
"Okay, good. I don't like when you're mad at me." I sighed in relief as I laughed.
"Do you want a soda, my love?" Lori asked Heather, kissing her head.
"Yes, a Sprite, please." My best friend smiled, nodding her head.
"Okay, I'll be back," Lori responded, standing to her feet.
Once Lori left to get Heather a drink, we began to talk.
"You want to know what I've been thinking," Heather spoke, making me turn my head to her.
"What?" I questioned, furrowing my eyebrows in confusion.
"I think Karen set me up at that party to get raped." Heather asserted, running her hands through her hair.
"What makes you think that?" I asked, scratching the back of my neck.
"Think about it. Karen wants to take me out of the picture." Heather explained, nodding her head. "Karen blames me for the two of you breaking up."
"Well, it makes sense, but that's not a good enough reason to set someone up to get raped," I affirmed, nodding my head. Heather did make sense, but her statement sounded over the top.
"It makes sense to me. Karen loathes me because she feels like it's my fault." Heather added, shrugging her shoulders.
"You're not, though," I replied, shaking my head.
"Karen feels as though I am. Maybe she's obsessed with getting back at me." My best friend claimed, nodding her head.
"Well, when you put it like that," I replied, taking a sip of my fruit cocktail.
Finally, Lori returns with a glass of Sprite with ice and a red straw and hands it to Heather.
"Thanks." She smiled, sipping from the straw.
"So, what's the conversation about?" Lori asked, looking between Heather and me.
"I told Sean that I think Karen set me up," Heather spoke, shrugging her shoulders.
"To get raped?" Lori questioned, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.
"Yes." She replied, nodding her head.
"I mean, it's possible." Lori shrugged, stroking her chin in thought. "You never know what that bitch is capable of doing.
"That is true." I nodded, agreeing with her.
"What if Karen and that guy are working together to make my life hell?" Heather suggested, making Lori and I look at her.
"Now that makes sense," I said, staring off in thought.
"Okay, enough about Karen." Lori asserted, startling me. "The longer we talk about her, the more I want to beat the life from her."
"Okay fine," I nodded, raising my hands.
"Let's sit in the pool out back with Kat and Nia," Lori suggested, smiling at Heather.
"Fine." Heather rolled her eyes and stood.
"See ya." Lori grinned, waving at me
The girls headed to the pool in the back, and I went to talk to my guy friends.
Lori Morgan
Heather and I sat talking with Kathleen, Virginia, and another girl named Marianne in the pool.
"So I don't know if I'm the only one thinking this, so I'm going to ask," Marianne said, catching our attention. "Heather, when are you and Sean going to start dating?"
"Oh my god." Heather groaned, putting her head down. "Why do all of you want me to have a relationship with him?"
"Girl, do you not see how he looks at you?" Virginia hinted, brows raised in shock.
"Yea, I feel like he wants to be more than friends," Kathleen added, nodding her head.
"No, he doesn't." Heather rejected, smacking her lips.
"You are oblivious to how people look at you, Heather," I commented, sipping my blended beverage.
"No, I'm not." Heather declined, shaking her head.
"You are if you can't see the chemistry you two have," Kathleen remarked, smiling at Heather. "I mean, he looks at you with pure love in his eyes."
"I hate to say it, but yes, he does," I said, agreeing with Kathleen's statement.
"We've all seen it," Marianne replied, nodding as she shrugged.
"Especially after what happened to you," I commented, shrugging my shoulders.
"I know he feels bad, but I don't see him like that." Heather lies, shaking her head.
Shaking my head at Heather's denial, I dropped the subject and noticed Sean and another guy walking toward us.
"Speak of the devil," I said, making the girls follow my line of vision.
"How's it going, girls?" Sean's friend asked, smiling at us.
"Good." We said in unison.
"I'm Reid." He introduced, nodding his head.
"Like Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds?" Marianne cooed, batting her eyelashes at the guy.
"Yes." Reid nodded, biting his bottom lip.
"Awesome," Kathleen replied, faking a smile.
"That's cool, I guess," Virginia mumbled, looking away as she rolled her eyes.
"So Reid, are you single?" I hear Marianne ask, making me roll my eyes.
"Really?" I questioned in disbelief, looking at her.
"I'm just curious." Marianne shrugs.
"No, it's fine, and yes, I'm single." Reid laughed as he nodded.
"Good to know," Marianne smirked, winking at Reid.
Rolling my eyes at Marianne's flirting with Sean's friend, I ignored them as they teased each other in front of us. Sean, Heather, Kat, Nia, and I talked at the opposite end of the pool.
"How'd you convince your uncle to let you use his yacht?" I asked curiously.
"Well, he didn't want to at first, so I made a deal to clean all of his cars," Sean explained, shrugging his shoulders.
"He's a car collector?" Virginia asked, raising her eyebrows in shock.
"Yea, a collection of the classics," Sean answered, glancing at Heather.
"That's cool," I said, smiling at them.
After talking for a few more minutes, we decided to exit the pool leaving Marianne and Reid alone to flirt. We sat in the central area, watching everyone have fun for ten minutes before Heather, and I walked to a cabin and lay on the bed.
"This ended up being fun," I admitted, nodding my head.
"It honestly has. I thought I would be by myself like last time." Heather explained, staring at the ceiling.
"After the last party, I would never leave you alone," I replied, pulling my best friend into a tight hug.
"I think as long as I'm with you, Sean, Virginia, or Kathleen, I'm fine." She commented, shrugging her shoulders.
"That's good." I nodded, placing a kiss on her cheek.
Heather laughed, pushing me away as we continued talking.
As the party ended, more time passed, and crew members drove the boat to the dock. I laced my arm with Heather's as we followed Sean off the yacht and onto the pier.
"Did you have fun today?" Sean asked Heather, who yawned.
"Yea, I enjoyed myself." She nodded, pulling him into a hug.
Once we said our goodbyes to one another, the girls and I got in my car. First, I dropped Kathleen off at her house. After taking Virginia home, I headed to Heather's. I waved at her before going to mine and showered.
