chapter 9 - Hero's Training Pt. 2

I sneak down the dark hallway looking for either Asui or Tokoyami.

"Now!" I hear a voice shout I turn and see a dark shadow flying at me.

I slide down and create a flowering vine to try and try to wrap it around the shadow. Of course, it went through but I wanted to test my luck. I get back up from the floor. The shadow retreats to wherever it came from.

Must be Tokoyami's quirk. I say to myself.

"They've spotted me," I say pressing on my earpiece. "I don't know where Asui is but I know Tokoyami is on the third floor with me." I add.

"Ok, just be careful they might have done that to catch you off guard," Sero says back to me.

"I'll watch out." I say as I walk along the walls trying to stay quiet. I peek from the corner to see if anyone was there and sure enough Asui was there. I swiftly and quietly run up and use a Nightshade flower mixed with Lavender to hold against her neck.

"What?!" The green-haired girl says.

"I wouldn't move, hero, Nightshade is a deadly plant and you're already drifting from the Lavender so you'll fall asleep if you try and struggle. Or be killed by the Nightshade." I say.

"Tsu!" I hear her partner's voice yell as he tries to run back to save her.

"Sero, I need one of you boys' help. I have Asui but Tokoyami is here too." I say on the intercom.

"Ok, I'm on my way!" I hear Kirishima's voice answer.

"You don't move either, I can stop your breathing in a heartbeat." I say to Tokoyami.

Then Kirishima comes crashing into Tokoyami hitting him hard and tagging him with the tape we were given. I kill off my Nightshade Lavender and let go of Asui, but the time was up and we had won.

"That was scary, but you were smart using your quirk. Ribbit!" Asui says.

"Thank you." I reply bluntly.

The school day was over and I didn't want to bother with staying like everyone else so I went home after returning my hero costume. Giyuu greets me as usual as I enter the door to my apartment and take off my shoes. I hang my uniform blazer on my hook and proceed to my kitchen. I take out some Ramen, stalked by Eishi, and heat some hot water for it. While that is cooking I wait in my living room and turn on the TV. The first thing that was on was an old cartoon that my brother and I used to watch. I didn't bother to change it so I sat there with Giyuu and watched.

The cartoon was about two heroes who had to save the world from a villain trying to destroy everyone who had superpowers. It's just like any other superhero cartoon for kids, they all have the same goal. I didn't despise hero shows just they sometimes were ruined by the thought of having heroes for parents. I heard the ding from my timer and moved Giyuu from my lap and got up. I grabbed the cup and some chopsticks then sat back down on my couch, only to be bothered to get up again by the chime of my doorbell.

I open the door to see my friends standing there in a group with smiles on their faces. "Yes?" I ask letting them in.

"You left before we could walk home with you so we were worried and wanted to check on you!" Yumi says.

"Toki thought you died but we all knew that that was wrong." Eishi adds.

"Hey! You gotta assume the worst sometimes." Tokiko says defending herself.

"But assuming she died was kinda harsh," Hikari says.

"I can agree," I say. "I just made some dinner do you guys want anything?" I ask my friends.

"Yeah!" They all respond happily.

My alarm sounds and wakes me up for the morning. I get ready as usual and head out after saying goodbye to Giyuu, once I fed him. As I walk along the sidewalk I bump into a boy, who looked rather familiar.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry, are you ok?" He asks frantically giving me a hand, to which I grab and stand back on my feet. He had short curly unkempt hair with big green eyes and four freckles on each side of his face.

Once I am back on my feet I dust off my skirt and blazer before answering, "Yes, I am fine, it was my fault I bumped into you, apologies." I say giving him a small bow of respect before walking away.

"Hey, wait!" He says quickly running to catch up with me. "You go to UA too, right?" He asks, to which I respond with a small nod.

"First-year Hero Course, Class 1-A, I'm Hitomi Nozomi," I said introducing myself to the boy.

"I knew it! I thought I recognized the moves you used in heor training yesterday you're th-" He says before I cut him off.

"So you were the one who almost killed himself because of childish drama from that other boy, Bakugo Katsuki, right?"

"You're the one who lost control of his power and broke both of his arms, right?"

"Your skills need improving and to be honest, all of us need improving, and yes my parents are the famous number 5 and 6 Pro-Heroes Steel Rose and Gunsteel. But never compare me or mention them to me again... they've already ruined my life enough." I said before I left the boy where he stood and walked off to the train station.

I just wished that for once in my life I could get away from my parents and anything related to them and the legacy they only got because of their parents. I just wished that I could have my brother back or at least know where he was or if he was ok and alive. Today hadn't started out the best and I was already on edge from the stress of school and ice skating so I had just hoped and prayed that today wouldn't be as stressful.
