The world can't possibly be what it seems. There are too many unanswered secrets, possibilities that float around in people's heads. Most believe that the seven deadly sins and the seven heavenly virtues are as big a myth as Geek gods. That they aren't real, that they don't exist. But you know better, you aren't blind to this particular part of the world. You have learned and read everything about the seven deadly sins, all the stories that are deemed as simply that. Stories. You spent a good part of your childhood and teenage years completely enraptured in those stories, believing every single one of them to be true. How did you come to be enlightened by this world? That part is simple. Your family has known about the seven deadly sins since the beginning of your bloodline. Rather than being killed off like most people who find out about their true identities are, they made a bargain with the sins. That if their current generation and every single living survivor after them agreed to serve the seven deadly sins with an immense amount of loyalty, they could live. The agreement was struck and your household was bound by a contract stronger than the gates of hell themselves. However, despite believing all of these stories and legends for years upon end, you eventually seemed to grow out of it. Your parents didn't ever have any sins coming to their door requesting help, so it seemed to be a large hoax put up by your grandparents to put you to bed at night. As an adult, you hardly thought about the seven sins or virtues. Sometimes, particularly after you've had too much to drink you would begin to wonder again if those stories were true, but once you sobered up again you could only believe that you were just trying to cling onto the remaining parts of your childhood. But your childhood was over, completely. Instead of growing up to become a princess or maybe even the partner of one of those mysterious deadly sins, you became a doctor. Or were trying to at least, medical school wasn't the most thrilling thing in the world but it was going to secure a nice future for yourself. You wouldn't be swimming in debt like you were at the current moment, once you finished and got a job at a nice hospital. Or, that was what you were hoping was going to happen. That fact of whether it was your calling, your passion in life, was an entirely different question. You were so close to finishing, pushing through the late-night study sessions that left you aching and sore both mentally and physically. Over and over again having to remind yourself that the misery now would lead to so much gain later. Your life would be easier, maybe the lives of your family as well. Just leaving from one of those late-night study sessions at the library, you were standing in the elevator to your crappy apartment with a cooled cup of coffee in your hand, black. You couldn't afford anything more expensive. There was a guy standing next to you, relatively handsome but in your tired mind, all you really registered was the fact he was dressed like a superhero with those tights on. Along with quite the dramatic trenchcoat over his body, you only rolled your eyes. Living in Vegas, you had seen far worse. The city was like a neon beacon for weirdos and the like. The elevator stopped, and both of you moved to get out of the lift, surprisingly ending up on the same floor. You recall maybe having some awkward chit-chat between the two of you before. Wanting to not engage in anything of the sort at the moment, you tried to move past him to go to your apartment, only for him to go stumbling to the ground, clutching his stomach. Bloodstained fingers smeared against the wall and there was so much crimson. Suddenly wide awake, you finally took in the male's pale skin, sweat drenching his face and causing his rather long bangs to be matted to his forehead. He looked as though he was teetering on the brink of death but surprisingly wasn't unconscious.
