I love her

"Woah! Woah! Woah! Excuse me, where do you think you're going?" the loud woman in the front desk of the hospital asked as she stopped the group that were subtly trying to get back.

"Oh um, I was just going to visit my grandma again. And- and this is my family." Nancy said innocently as she stumbled over her words, looking back and now realizing there were a lot of them.

"Extended." Lucas said to the woman with a smile as she locked eyes with Mavis and shot her eyebrows up.

"Extended family that graffitied my car a few weeks back? Two visitors at a time." the woman said as the group all glared at Mavis as she sighed.

"Graffitied her car? Mav, what in the hell?" Max asked as the four girls sat in the waiting room together.

"Oh, shut up Max." Mav said with a eye roll.

"Ugh okay, i'll remember that next time you're the reason our plans go to shit." the redhead added in as Mavis crossed her arms.

"And i'll remember that next time you want me to key someones car for you or sneak you into my house so you can suck face with my brother." Mavis added in as Max went to argue again, being cut off.

"Guys! I know we're all tired and we all have our reasons to be mad but let's just stay calm, okay? Nancy and Jonathan can handle this." Carrie spoke up as they fell silent until Lucas walked over.

"Hey Max, wanna head to the vending machine?" He asked as Max shot up quickly.

"Please, i'm starving." she said while following after him, Mike subletting came over and sat next to Carrie, who gave him a odd look in the corner of her eye. El and Mavis shared a knowing look before they locked hands and hurried to go around the corner.

"Think they'll work it out?" Mavis asked as the two walked down the hallway with connected hands.

"Maybe, hopfully." El said with a shrug as Mavis nodded her head, their voices echoing in the hospital.

"Mav." El said as she grabbed the girls arms to stop her from walking, "Panic Attack?"

"Are you having one? I can get you-" Mavis began in a panic as El shook her head quickly.

"You said it at Mikes, you get them?" El asked as the two sat down with their backs against the wall.

"Sometimes, they aren't as bad as they use to be." Mavis explained while she played with her hands.

"What is it?" the taller girl asked her girlfriend curiously as Mavis sighed and ran a hand through her bright hair.

"It feels like a weight is just sitting on your chest, it's all you feel. Sometimes it's worse for others, mine just feels like the world starts spinning and I can't breath. My brother use to get them before he passed away, it's a family gene I think. It's not so bad anymore though, now that i'm with you." Mavis said as she rested her head on El's shoulder as El put a arm around her.

"I am glad we're still together." El said after a few seconds, making Mavis frowned her brows and sit up to look at her.

"What do you mean? Why wouldn't we still be together?" Mavis asked as El sighed and turned to her better.

"Carrie and Mike are dumped. Max said she dumps Lucas all the time... i'm glad we didn't dump." El said as Mavis couldn't hold back her laugh as El frowned her eyebrows in confusion, watching the smaller girl laugh loudly and tumble over slightly.

"El, please never say that again." Mavis said between laughs as El grinned, still confused but found Mavis oddly adorable.

"Don't worry, we're different from them. I mean, you and I are stronger then them in a way. We already know what it's like to be apart from each other, I hated that." Mavis explained once she calmed down, taking both El's hands in hers.

"Me too, never again." El shook her head as her short hair shook with her. Mavis grinned as she leaned into El as they rubbed their noses against each other's, making them laugh.

The lights began to blink brightly as the pair of girlfriends hurried back to their friends, seeing Will looking around oddly like he knew something. Glancing at Carrie, she also had a weird look on her face, holding onto Mikes hand in fear.

"He's here." Will spoke for the two as the group all hurried down the hall in search of Nancy and Jonathan. They followed the noise as they came across a door. El was quickly to use her powers to throw it open as a massive creature, that resembled a slug, turned to them.

"What the f-" Max began before it let out a loud screech at the younger teens and ran at them. El yelled as she held up her arms, swinging it around the room. Mavis stood on her tippy toes to look over Lucas shoulder, watching El in fear. With one last final yell, El swung her arms forward, causing the creature to fly out of the window.

"Go!" El demanded as they ran down the hallway, Jonathan staying to help Nancy up again.

The teens got out of the hospital quickly, only to come face to face with the creature melting down into the drain. Mavis opened her mouth to say something, but couldn't even find the right words for one of her sarcastic comments.

"I miss Dustin." Was all Mavis could say as Lucas wrapped a arm around her in comfort.

After Nancy and Jonathan joined them, the large group all went back to Hoppers house, El saying she needed privacy to find were the creature had gone off too.

"It can't be good for her to be in there this long." Mike said as him and Mavis paced back and forth together.

"You're right, you're completely right." Mavis nodded her head in a agreement as Max's voice rung.

"Mike, Mavis, you both need to relax." the redhead said, clearly annoyed with them both.

"What if she gets brain damaged?" Mike asked as Mavis gasped.

"I didn't even think of that." the short girl said as she went to run toward El's room, being stoped as Carrie grabbed a hold on her and brought her back to her original spot.

"Oh shit, is that a real thing?" Lucas asked with wide eyes.

"No it's not, he made it up. Mike doesn't know what the hell he's talking about." Max said as Mavis scoffed and crossed her arms.

"He made it up? Say that the millions of people who have died from it. I mean, who the hell was your teacher in California?" Mavis asked her with a annoyed look as Max's gapped at her.

"Oh yeah, because i'd much rather be a brainy, pink haired chick who gets arrested then let out, only because her girlfriends Dad is the chief of police." Max said to her, just as much sass as Mavis had.

"Oh yeah, typical Max... she's in the wrong so she picks at peoples personal lives. This is about El, not me!" Mavis said back to her as she waved her arms around in disbelief and annoyance.

"Guys! You're sister in laws, stop it." Lucas spoke up as the two told him to shut up on que, having him nod and put his hands up in surrender.

"This is such bullshit, you're completely fine with putting my friend in danger." Mike said to Max as she stood up quickly, Mike getting a rise out of her more then Mavis ever would be able to.

"It's not bullshit Mike, this is exactly why Carrie dumped you in the first place! You really wanna try to control and treat El like garbage too?" Max asked with wide eyed as Mike rolled his eyes.

"Carrie dumped you?" Nancy asked with wide eyed, looking to the girl that stood behind Mavis with a red face.

"Yeah because she's conspiring against me, she's corrupting her." Mike said as he pointed to Max as Carrie walked out from behind Mavis.

"I'm literally right here!" Carrie said loudly, being ignored as Mavis shrug and put a arm around her and Lucas.

"The fact is Carrie and El are their own person, fully capable of making their own decisions. You can't just sweet talk them in to doing whatever the hell you want like you do Mavis!" Max yelled at him as Mavis let go of her friend and brother with a loud scoff.

"Excuse me? When has Mike ever controlled me? You wanna preach about people being their own person but attack me for it? What the hell? No man has ever and will never control me like you make it out to seem!" Mavis yelled at her with a point to Max, who rolled her eyes.

"El is risking her life for no reason, i'm not controlling her by trying to keep her safe like how I do with Mavis, it's completely different!" Mike added in, getting between the two girls and standing up for Mavis quickly.

"For no reason? Mike the flayed are out there doing god knows what." Nancy said with a glare on her face.

"Killing."

"Flaying."

"Transforming into monsters."

"Okay, so we're just suppose to be okay with her dying for people we don't even know? God forbid I don't wanna lose my girlfriend." Mavis shot in, her eyes watering from all the arguing and the thought.

"We all need to stop yelling, all of us. Mavis, you need take a breath and trust El, Mike, you need to let me speak for myself, and Max you have no right to talk about Mavis the way you are." Carrie spoke up in reasoning as the three all stopped and took a breath.

"Mav, El's not stupid. She knows her abilities better then any of us." Nancy said as she grabbed the pink haired girls hand.

"Exactly, thank you." Max added in, making Mavis roll her eyes again.

"Mike, she is her own person." Nancy added in as she turned to her brother now.

"Exactly!"

"With her own free will."

"Exactly!"

"El has saved the world twice and Mavis and Mike still don't trust her." Max added in, firing the two up once more as Carrie sighed and threw her hands up.

"No, you're completely wrong. I do trust her, I just don't trust what's going on. You expect me to trust the fact that what she's doing is completely safe? Because it's not! There's a complete difference between trust and worrying, and what i'm doing is worrying! I trust El with everything in the world but she's still my girl, i'm supposed to worry! You're all treating her like a weapon when she's not a weapon, she's a human being who I can't lose again! I love her more then anything else in this god damn world so can we please just come up with a new plan?!" Mavis shouted, all her emotions coming out at once before she could even realize what she was saying. The group all looked at her in shock before the sound of a door squeaking caught their attention.

"What's going on?" El asked with frowned eyebrows as she looked at them, her hair a bit mess and dried blood under her nose.

"Just family discussion." Lucas said as Mavis avoided all eye contact.

"Oh, I found him." El informed them with a blink as Mavis cleared her throat and looked back at Lucas.

so there's some clear angry between max and mavis and mav said she loved el, i'm soft.

this may or may not be my favorite chapter yet.
