Merida rushed down the long and busy hallways of the venue, workers and staff members whisking around her in hurries. After munching down on an apple that she had taken from the tour bus, the red head tossed the leftover core to the side, too lost in her own mind to realise she had simply left it to lay on the carpet-covered flooring. Her electric blue eyes finally landed on a nearby door with the sign 'Little Mix - Dressing room' written on it. Merida stumbled inside, already knowing she was going to get a lecture about being more punctual by Elsa.
Rapunzel, who was lounging on the luxury couch of the dressing room, was the first to lay her eyes on Mer, who was looking as if she had just woken up... which she had. Punz laughed at her friend as she sat up to get a better look at her. "Girl, where have you been? We're on in twenty!" Her golden hair was tied into two french braids and tiny black stars were dotted underneath her eyes.
"I overslept!" Merida huffed, rushing to one of the four vanities and beginning to apply some makeup to her face.
Elsa, who sat at the mirror next to hers, added small snowflake gems to her plait which rested on her shoulder. "You overslept on a concert night? What the hell were you doing?"
Merida smiled at the thought of the all nighter she had pulled with her boyfriend the previous night on the tour bus.
"She was up all night with Hiccup, again." Mer turned to Anna, who teased her with a smirk while sipping up her white platform boots. The red head began to chase her around the room, the two of them laughing like little kids.
"Come on, you guys! We don't have time to be messing around!" Elsa yelled, dragging the red head back to her vanity where she helped her get ready as quickly as they could. Leaving her mass of curly hair the way it was, Mer was able to slip into her outfit and add some accessories to herself such as many earrings for her many ear piercings with just enough time to spare.
Rapunzels eyes were glued to her phone as she typed away, giggling at whatever was on her screen. "Who're you texting?" Merida asked, curiously. The blonde jumped, tucking her phone beneath her thigh, even though she knew at this point the red head would've figured that she had been texting a certain white headed singer. Before she had time to answer a bunch of tech guys stampeded into the room, setting the girls' microphones up and making sure everything was up to standard. "Five minutes everyone!" They yelled.
Once they left, a knock came from the door and in walked four familiar boys. They all wore their iconic black ripped jeans and tank tops. Rapunzel stood from where she sat only for her boyfriend to rest his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "You guys ready to put on the greatest show this city has ever seen?" He asked the group with a large smirk. They all began their decent to the stage.
Hiccup caught up to Merida, his drumsticks in hand while she was given her earpiece by a staff member passing by. "You look nice." He smiled as she turned to grin at him. "More than nice- you look amazing."
The red head swiftly pulled him closer by his collar, pecking him lightly on the lips. "You don't look too bad yourself, Haddock." She sashayed away, continuing down the hallway. Hiccup chuckled and shook his head before following. He glanced in the other direction to catch Flynn still gawking at Elsa like he had been since the tour had began. He rolled his eyes and placed his hand on Flynn's shoulder. The drummer leaned closer to his friend.
"Tell her how you feel. It's now or never, dude."
Flynn's eyes widened lightly as Hiccup nodded at him before going onwards down the hallway at a quicker pace than he was. Flynn looked to Elsa again, who walked a few feet away from him while chatting to a staff member about how her hair looked. He smiled softly at how flushed her cheeks had become. He knew she always got nervous before she went on stage at any show she did. He found it adorable. And brave. He admired how she never let anything stand in her way of doing what she loved, no matter how scared she got. He took a deep breath as they neared the stage doors. The chanting from the raging fans in the arena got louder with every step he took.
"Alright, you guys." Jack began, breaking Flynn from his numerous thoughts. The band stood just below the stage, the steps up to it right in front of them. They took each other into a huddle, something they did before every concert. "It's been the journey of a life time, but here we are... the first show of the tour. We've had ups and downs, but through it all we stuck together. We're not just a group of best friends... we're a family."
Merida cut him short, "Aw, is Frosty getting all sentimental on us now?" The others laughed.
Jack shook his head playfully with a grin while Anna ruffled his hair a little. "Whatever, Red. Let's go show this city who we are." The eight placed their hands, which were clenched into fists, into the middle of the huddle. They all smirked to one another before breaking out and beginning to get ready to go on stage. As the others snook their way on stage, which was dimmed with lights, Flynn grabbed Elsa by the hand, stopping her from going any further.
"Flynn," She turned with confusion to him. "What're you doing?"
"I need to tell you something."
She chuckled, "Well, can't it wait? We sorta have a show to do... like, right now-" She tried to continue her way onto the stage, but he held her back once again.
"It's really important!" He pleaded, giving her a face that he knew she wouldn't be able to say no to. She nodded slowly, still confused as to what on earth he would want to tell her on such short notice. "Okay... Uh- gosh, where do I even begin with this?" Flynn rambled, clearing his throat as he tried to come up with a way to start off his confession.
"2 minutes until the lights turn on, you two!" A worker with an ear piece and clipboard yelled to them.
Flynn jumped at the sudden voice, and bit his lip as he was running out of time. He took a deep breath, looking the blonde straight in the eyes. "Elsa, I've liked you since the moment I met you. I never acted like I did, but from the damn second I saw you I thought you were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen! And I know that you think there's a zero-percentage chance that we're gonna be together forever... and I mean, we're young. For all we know, you could be right about that... I mean, could one of us get hurt? Yeah, maybe. But I'll do my best to make sure that it's me... that I'm the one to get hurt because holy shit, all I want is to be with you!" He laughed nervously, breaking the strong eye contact they had held.
Tears welled in her crystal blue eyes as she stared at him with a smile on her face. "You got that line from Euphoria!" She giggled, making him join in.
He nodded, biting the inside of his cheek. "It's a good show, don't judge me!"
She shook her head, placing her hands on either side of his face. "I could never judge you, Flynn." His hands wrapped around her waist as she leaned over him slightly, due to standing on a step higher than him. "And Euphoria is a great show!" She laughed, a tear sliding down her cheek. He brushed it away quickly so that it wouldn't mess up her makeup.
"40 seconds!" The worked called. Flynn smiled, beginning his way past Elsa to go up the stairs to the stage, his hand still in hers. She turned him like he had to her, and kissed him. It was passionate, something they had both longed for for a long time. A hole within both of them was suddenly filled.
"I really like you too." She broke from the kiss to say. "I'm sorry it took me so long to come to terms with, I was just so afraid..." she stroked one of his brown locks past his ear. "I'm not afraid anymore." They kissed again.
"15 seconds!"
The two jumped, finally running up the stairs and taking their places on stage. Their silhouettes could be seen from the crowd, who were going absolutely insane at just the sight of the dark stage.
Hiccup nodded to each member of the band before leaning closer to his mic, which rested just above his drums. "Los Angeles, are you ready?" He shouted with excitement.
The crowd jumped with delight as the lights around the arena flashed vibrant colours of blue, purple and red. All the lights sudden went off and the arena was filled with darkness. A short video montage began playing above the stage of the band throughout the last few months. It consisted of videos of them writing songs for their album, having fun and messing around on the tour bus. The last video clip showed Rapunzel and Kristoff laying on the tour bus floor with numerous note pads and music sheets lay out in front of them. By her voice in the background, it was obvious that Merida was holding the camera as she talked to the two. "So we just need a name for this song."
"I got it!" Punzie looked to Kristoff before taking a pen and writing something down on a blank piece of paper. She held it up to the camera and said, "End Up Here." The screen above the stage went black as the fans went crazy. The spotlight shone onto the gang as the boys began to play their guitars and Hiccup on his drums.
You walked in,
everyone was asking for your name.
You just smiled and told them trouble!
Jack was the first to begin the song, which made every girl in the audience swoon. Both Anna and Flynn joined in with him for the next few words. They leaped to his side, Flynns guitar hung across his body as he played it in harmony with Jacks. Anna rested her hand on the white heads shoulder.
My head spins, pressed against the wall just watching your every move.
You're way too cool and you're coming this way ( coming this way ).
The whole band jumped to the beat as the chorus came while the crowd gazed at them with excitement.
How did we end up talking in the first place?
You said you liked my Cobain shirt.
Now we're walkin' back to your place.
You're telling me how you love that song
about livin' on a prayer,
I'm pretty sure that we're halfway there.
And when I wake up next to you,
I wonder how...
How did we end up here?
( how did we end up, end up here? )
Merida and Elsa stood next to each other on a higher platform of the stage, the same one that Hiccup and his drum set were placed on and currently rocking out. He smiled at his girlfriend as she danced with Elsa and sang.
Next day out,
everybody thought you were so insane.
'Cause you were so far out of my league!
Rapunzel joined them in singing along, while Kristoff shredded his guitar next to her.
My friends say I should lock you down,
before you figure me out and run away.
But you don't and you won't as you kiss me,
and you tell me that you're here to stay
( here to stay ).
Kristoff found his way next to Anna, who beamed at him as he sang his part in the song, looking directly into her eyes which made the crowd hyper with love for the couple.
Call me lucky 'cause in the end,
I'm a six and she's a ten.
She's so fit, I'm insecure!
But she keeps coming back for more.
The crowd began to clap in unison as the whole band let their instruments down and did the same.
The crowd screamed the last line.
How did we end up, how did we end up here?
The band panted as the song came to a finish. The lights which were previously flashing all kinds of colours halted and shone down on the eight of them. Everyone in the audience cheered louder than ever as the band jumped with happiness into a group hug in the centre of the stage.
"We did it!" Anna squealed. She kissed her blonde boyfriend on the cheek, making some jaws in the crowd drop.
The eight members turned to face the thousands of people looking up at them once again. They stood in a line and beamed with pure delight.
Two girls in the front row of the crowd stared up at the band while the world around them seemed to pass by like a blur. One was tall with lightly coloured hair while the other was a bit shorter with darker locks. "We did them good." Trey, the tall one, remarked with a soulful tone.
The shorter one, Eve, nodded in agreement as she gazed at the young band with a happy grin. "We sure did." They looked to one another with smiles of pride before disappearing without a single trace.
The band, who hadn't even noticed the girls, took a bow for the audience. Their lives, their destinies, were just beginning.
And so there you have it, folks. The story of a group of ordinary boys with nothing but the gold in their hearts and a group of not-so-ordinary girls with everything but the freedom that their hearts longed for. Together they came through hatred and found love, peace within their war. Together, and only together, an unbreakable and surly unforgettable family was created.
As some may put it; 'True love comes not from searching and not from finding, but from seeing the beauty in both another's fault and triumphs.'
That, my friends, is how they ended up here.
ร
wow, where do I even begin.
First, I need to thank cvpidanvers for basically everything. for writing this with me, for being the bestest friend I could ask for, for supporting me and this story, for making my dream come true. this story is going to stay in my heart and in the history forever.
the process of writing this story was over a year long journey and I would go through it all over again because it was the best journey ever.
the characters of this story grew to my heart much more over these chapters and I really don't want this to end. sure it could continue but me and eve agreed it's best to end it. maybe there might be a sequel in the future, who knows.
next, I need to thank you guys for reading this story. if you read it here on my account or on eve's account, it doesn't matter. the important thing is that you read it, enjoyed it and spread the word about this story. thank you.
I also need to thank @jayjaysocks on tumblr who did the art piece above for us, it's amazing. both me and evie love it so much. we wanted something to be made just for this story and kinda be a thing we can look at and be like "damn, that one was really good"
I will probably talk about this more on my instagram, the last thing I want to say is that if you want all the songs from this book together, it has a playlist on spotify! just check the soundtrack chapter here! its name is there!
thank you for ending up here with us
