"Why is it so hard to come up with one goddamn song?!" Hiccup huffed loudly, floating on his back in the pool.
Merida roughly hushed him, laying on a long pool floaty, the bright sun kissing her lightly tanned skin. "Shut up, Haddock. I'm trying to think of something," she replied simply, her large dark sunglasses covering her closed eyes. She wore a black bikini, and her red hair was tied into a high ponytail with some strands falling down to frame her face.
Hiccup looked over to her, staying quiet. He watched as she lay still, inhaling and exhaling calmly. He could tell she was deep in thought, trying to come up with lyrics to a song. Don't get him wrong, Hiccup was desperately trying to think of something too, but unfortunately, he kept tending to get distracted... and you can probably guess by who. He cracked a small smile, admiring every inch of her.
"Quit staring, Haddock." Merida suddenly said, not even having to look over at him.
Hiccup jumped slightly, instantly turning his head the other way. He scratched the back of his neck, cringing at how stupid he seemed in the current situation. His shaggy brown hair was damp from swimming, and he wore nothing but green swimming trunks, showing off the rest of his toned body, which Merida didn't seem to pay any attention too. Well, at least that's what it looked like from her outer appearance. Inside, however, she couldn't help but take a quick glance at him once in a while.
Hiccup began to think about Merida's personality. He liked how hot headed she was, and how tough she was. Hic was never the type to go for a typical easy girl. Easy, in his mind, was boring. He always took a liking to girls with strong opinions, and confidence.
In other words, he liked bad girls. And if you haven't already noticed, Merida was a bad girl.
Late nights, she's on fire,
calling me from numbers I don't recognize.
Wonderin' if there's somebody else
in the room.
She says that I'm crazy, nah baby it's you.
Shows up, fills her cup,
I know all she wants is just to get my love.
I wish we could be just like Johnny and June.
She cut out my heart and left me in the room.
Words came to Hiccups mind, and he sang them to himself, continuing to look over to Merida.
And I know I, I should quit her,
and I'd do it if I could.
She's a hot mess, but I confess,
damn she got me good!
He began to get out of the pool, grabbing his guitar which sat by the doors. Merida removed her sunglasses, still afloat, and watching him sit at the edge of the pool. Without anything else, she listened as Hiccup began to sing what sounded like a chorus to a song.
'Cause I love them bad girls,
doing bad things,
lookin' hot with the attitude!
Love them bad girls,
like a bad dream,
shouldn't want them but I do!
Singing, oooh oooh.
All the bad girls singing, oooh oooh.
Yeah, all the bad girls singing.
And I can't help it, no!
Damn, it feels good when you're
messing with a bad girl!
He began to strum a beat with the lyrics, not even noticing that Merida was listening. At this point, Hiccup barely knew if he was singing aloud or not, he was so lost in the song. Hiccup thought about what else Merida reminded him of, closing his eyes to think hard.
She got a body like a fast car, movie star.
I'd do anything to be her bodyguard.
She like gettin' naked and swimmin' in pools.
She make it look sexy to break all the rules.
Fallin' too fast, I might crash,
but once you goin' body,
you know you can't come back.
I just wanna watch every way that she moves.
'Cause she out on the edge
like there's nothing to lose!
Merida was mesmerized at how smoothly the words were coming to him, and how in the zone he was. The song was different to any other one on the album currently, and she loved how unique it was. The vibe of it seemed to speak to her.
'Cause I love them bad girls,
doing bad things,
lookin' hot with the attitude!
Love them bad girls,
like a bad dream,
shouldn't want them but I do!
Singing, oooh oooh.
All the bad girls singing, oooh oooh.
Yeah, all the bad girls singing.
And I can't help it, no!
Damn, it feels good when you're
messing with a bad girl!
The redhead giggled and Hiccup took a short guitar solo, his head bopping up and down to the beat. His eyes were still closed, and his body was dripping wet due to the pool. Merida silently danced along while sitting on top of her floaty.
'Cause I love them bad girls,
doing bad things,
lookin' hot with the attitude!
Love them bad girls,
like a bad dream,
shouldn't want them but I do!
Singing, oooh oooh.
All the bad girls singing, oooh oooh.
Yeah, all the bad girls singing.
And I can't help it, oh oh oh!
No, I can't help it no!
It's all so good she you're messing
with those bad girls.
Yeah,
Merida began to clap, snapping Hiccup from his trace immediately. He opened his eyes and watched as Merida smirked at him with joy. He gulped, looking down to his guitar.
"What was that?" She asked with excitement.
"Nothing," the brunette replied, grinning back at her. "Just a song I came up with."
"You don't just come up with songs as good as that!" Merida exclaimed. "Someone must have given you inspiration for that!"
Hiccup froze for a small moment, not knowing how to answer. He didn't want to give away that it was about her... that would be awkward. "Seriously, Dunbroch, I just came up with it."
Merida laughed, rolling her eyes playfully. "Well, I don't care what you say, that song is going on the album." She told him, laying back down and putting her sunglasses back over her eyes.
Hiccup smiled, watching as she did this. He slipped back into the water, splashing her intentionally. She sat up straight away, her mouth left a gap as he chuckled at her. Merida shook her head, jumping off her floaty and into the water, beginning to splash him back. "Oh, it is so on, Haddock!"
Damn, it feels good when you're
messing with a bad girl.
