Anna had to at least try and get her mind off what happened yesterday. Although, it was quite hard with all the aching bruises on her arm. She left the house at an early time this morning and has been wandering the streets for a few hours now. Her light pink rain jacket was soaked and she was becoming more cold by the minute. Anna decided to go to the only place in town she could feel slight comfort and warmth โ€” The Club House. It was her favourite ice cream parlour.

As she turned the corner of the street, the vibrant yellow and red building began to come into her view. Anna picked up her pace, eager to enjoy some delicious ice cream. She noticed that the rain was becoming increasingly heavier as she put her hands on the door handle of the entrance to the parlour. Anna, for the first time in hours, smiled at her luck.

The bell above the door dinged as she stepped inside the empty parlour. Usually the place was packed, but Anna figured that not a lot of people would be buying ice cream on such a cold day, unlike her. It was her favourite food, after all. Anna could eat ice cream while stuck in Antarctica and have absolutely no problem with it.

"Well look who it is," a feminine voice chirped from behind the counter. "Our best customer!"

A short, pale young woman came out from behind the counter. She had snow blonde hair cut into a short style and large ocean blue eyes. Underneath her working apron, she wore a purple skirt and a white blouse.

"It's so good to see you, Daisy." Anna smiled, hugging the woman, trying to hide her sadness.

"Sugar, you look drenched! Come sit down," Daisy ushered Anna to a comfy seat in the corner, kindly. She took her coat and hung it by the radiator to dry, before fetching the strawberry blonde a blanket from behind the counter. "You must be freezing! How long were you out in that horrible weather for?"

Anna sighed. "Too long."

Daisy sensed that the young girl was feeling down, and quickly got her a bowl of her favourite flavour of ice cream โ€” chocolate, of course. "Minnie!" she called out. "Anna's here!"

After a few moments, another woman came out from the back room of the parlour. She had dark hair which was tied into two space buns on top of her head and brown eyes. She wore a red and white dress and had tanned skin. Minnie gasped with joy as she saw Anna, and scurried over to hug her. Both the workers sat down with Anna, looking concerned as she ate her ice cream. "Is there something wrong, darling?" Minnie asked, glancing to Daisy with worry. Usually Anna was preppy and happy. Nothing like this.

"In all honestly, there is..." she replied, swallowing a spoonful of ice cream. "I'm surprised you two haven't heard about what happened already. The story seems to be everywhere on social media and-"

Anna stopped herself when the bell above the door rang again. The three girls shifted their gazes to see who had come in. There in the doorway, stood Kristoff, putting down his umbrella. Anna blinked a few times before coming to a conclusion that he was actually here. "Kristoff?"

He snapped his head up when he heard his name, and smiled when seeing Anna. "Hey," he greeted, setting down his umbrella by the door. "I thought I might find you here." He chuckled.

Daisy and Minnie's eyes were left wide due to the blondes huge body and good looks. They smiled flirtatiously at him, to which he barely noticed. Anna caught them, however, and playfully hit their arms to stop. "Quit it, you two!" She whispered to them with a laugh.

"You never told us how gorgeous your boyfriend was, Anna!" Daisy whispered back as they watched him take off his jacket and hang it up. Anna nearly choked on her food.

She shook her head quickly. "He's not my boyfriend! He's just a friend... well, sort of," she cringed. "Now, do you mind leaving us alone for a bit? I think the whole reason he came here was to talk to me."

Minnie giggled. "Alright, we'll leave you two to 'talk'," she winked. Anna stuck her tongue out at them as they made their way to the back room. She looked back to Kristoff and invited him to sit down. "How'd you know I would be here?" She asked.

"Well, it's pretty obvious you love ice cream since there's about 7 tubs of it in the freezer back at the house," he laughed, her joining in. "So, I thought I'd come see how you're doing."

"I just wish I could've done more to help." She frowned and blurted out.

"You did all you could've done, Anna." Kristoff replied soothingly, sincerity in his eyes.

Anna let out a wince. "I tried, Kris. I really did. Astrid was getting way too close for my liking and I was ready to pounce on her at any given moment. But even after just a few light pushes and hits from her, I ended up with all these," she motioned to the bruises on her arm. Anna wiped her eyes before tears could escape from them. "I'm weak." She whispered, looking to the ground and neglecting the rest of her ice cream as she set the spoon down. "I'm not strong like the others."

Kristoff had heard enough. He took both of Anna's hands, making her look up to him suddenly. He stared deeply into her big eyes. "Listen to me," he started with a calm but strong tone. "You're one of the strongest people I know, Anna. You did everything you could yesterday, and that's all that counts. You showed Astrid that you cared for your friends so much that you were willing to get into a fightย with her for them. So what if you got a few bruises? Everybody gets hurt sometimes. That right there," he pointed to her bruises. "That's the scars you have from trying, which is all that matters."

Anna stared at him with widened eyes. She knew he was right, yet she was taken aback by how passionate he was about it. She smiled at him with teary eyes and suddenly jumped at him with a huge hug. They stayed like that for awhile as she cried into his shoulder, Daisy and Minnie smiling at them in the doorway of the back room with happiness.

"What're you doing here, Haddock?"

Merida looked down to the brunette who stood at the bottom of the skater ramp she sat atop of. The abandoned skateboard park was the only place Mer could think of when she left the house earlier. She knew no one would be here and she could be alone for awhile. Her hood was up to keep the rain off her head, but it wasn't doing much justice, in all honesty. Merida's curly red hair stuck out from each side of the hood, framing her porcelain face.

Hiccup looked up to the girl with sympathy, seeing even through the harsh weather that she had puffy red eyes from crying. He wore a black beanie on his head and a large coat over his body. An umbrella was held in his hand. "I thought you could use a friend."

Merida laughed, mockingly. "I'm good, but thanks for stopping by. You're free to go back to the house now, which I suggest you do."

"I'm not leaving you alone, DunBroch." Hiccup replied to her sarcasm, rolling his eyes. Merida groaned loudly. When he got no further response from her, he climbed up the ramp and sat next to her on the top, holding the umbrella above them both. There was silence for a while, making it more awkward. Hiccup noticed the redhead was shivering with the cold as she wore only a light leather jacket. He set the umbrella down for a moment, quickly taking off his coat and putting it around her shoulders. She looked at him with surprise.

"Haddock, you're wearing nothing but a tank top and jeans, take your coat back or-"

Hiccup shook his head, fixing his beanie slightly and propping the umbrella up to cover them both again. "It's okay, really." He smiled. She thanked him. "So, this Josh Macintosh guy... he cheated on you with Astrid?"

Merida nodded with a frown. "Apparently they had been doing it behind my back for three whole months."

Hiccup glanced at her to see a tear fall down her face, which she quickly wiped away. "What an asshole." He growled.

"He wasn't all that bad... well, before he slept with another girl, of course." She joked, making Hiccup laugh. "He was charming, actually. A real heartthrob." Merida couldn't help but give a small smile, which soon faded as more and more memories of him began to come back to her. "You know, for a long time I actually thought he might've been my one. We just clicked with each other, so easily. When I found out what he and Astrid did, I-" she paused for a moment. "I didn't know what to do. For 2 years of my life I thought I needed him to make myself happy. I treated him like he was my only source of air, like he was my life support... which is crazy because I've never been the type to run after boys and obsess over them. And I never have again, since it happened. It's just not worth my time, running after boys I mean."

Hiccup nodded, after listening intently. "And that's okay." He stated. "What they did was wrong and let me tell you, if I ever meet Josh I'll kick his ass. But what you said about never running after guys again, that's okay. It shows you're independent and that you're your own person. If there is someone out there for you, they'll come along in their own time," he smiled. "And it will work out."

Merida chuckled, turning to look directly into his forest green eyes. "Thanks, Haddock."

"Anytime, DunBroch."
